🐉.Fly High Dragon King | How To Train Your Dragon X Male Reader
Tumblr media
The description is down below. This is also on my Wattpad and Quotev! Enjoy!
Description: Fly High Dragon King | (You are Here) More about you: More about you Prologue: New Home From Across the Sea Chapter 1: Old Friends from the Starry Sky |TBW Chapter 2: The Chieftain's Decision | TBW Chapter 3: My Good Friend and Maybe Yours | TBW Chapter 4: Understanding This Way of Life | TBW Chapter 5: Convincing Her of Sky Bound Beauty | TBW Chapter 6: Lifelong Friends Over War | TBW Chapter 7: The Queen Faces the King | TBW
Tumblr media
Growing up with dragons, Y/n became something like one. He didn't have wings or a tail, but he had the scales, teeth, and appetite of one. Not to mention his aging stunted. His body adapted to live with these glorious winged reptiles as he made his home in their nest. He was stuck, at the age of 2, living with these dragons for 10 years. These dragons would try to provide him some education; bringing him books from the vikings boats they had shot down. The dragons all cared for Y/n as their own, and he loved each of them dearly. All dragons knew him as the Dragon King. No dragon would defy him, not even the babies. Y/n would fly with them and would act like them. But after those 10 years, Y/n wanted to explore and figure out what made up vikings and why they would hurt the creatures he cared so much for. With the help of 2 night furies, whom he had befriended over those 10 years, they brought him to an abandoned ship and Y/n had sailed away. After a few months of sailing, his boat crashed into Berk, and he became a part of their community as he tried to understand the reason they killed those he considered family.

Opening Paragraphs, Draft to Draft 💥
We did it for TBW, let's do it for Siege! 👀
Let's go!
Draft 1 (Unnamed) | Rinnie
Rinnie turned and looked at herself in the mirror, she probably did look rather stunning.  Though, it was always weird when her hair was pinned back in such a way that it didn’t spring about randomly around her head.  It had been braided and then put up into a bun.  It was hardly even noticeably curly.  In fact, it wasn’t.  But, it was professional and poised and probably several other adjectives that Rinnie didn’t feel like thinking about at that particular moment.
Draft 2-3 (Unnamed) | Rinnie (new intro)
Berthingtonn prided itself on being fiercely independent.  The large city but small country sat as a trading hub literally between Schmiedland and Eswaisil.  Schmiedland had already proven itself as a powerful nation.  Eswaisil was starting to prove itself as a potential threat.  But Berthingtonn stood firm.
Draft 4-5 (Unnamed) | Rinnie (reading a newspaper article)
Berthingtonn prides itself on being fiercely independent. This Independence Week is a particularly special one. This year marks the three-hundredth year as an independent government…
Draft 6 (Siege on Berthingtonn) | New Prologue: Ilani's POV
The wind on Berthingtonn’s eastern docks always seemed to blow far more strongly than it did on the west side, Ilani mused to herself as she waited patiently in the oversized office that overlooked the harbor. Ilani was not a large woman, she was thin even for an elf and only of average height, which put her a head shorter than the common height of a human woman. This room however, had clearly been built for people who dwarfed the humans who ruled Berthingtonn. The room was made of stone and steel and was absolutely ancient, being a part of the original harbor construction.
Draft 7 (Siege of Berthingtonn) | Ilani's Prologue (revised)
The wind on Berthingtonn’s eastern docks always seemed to blow far more strongly than it did on the west side. Ilani thought this to herself as she waited patiently in the oversized office that overlooked the harbor. Ilani was not a large woman, she was small even for an elf, and was half a head shorter than the average human woman.

 ― [ A ] RISTOCRATIC EDUCATION .
Tumblr media
Caitlyn's aristocratic education consisted of multiple classes and studies to better help her learn how to act in society due to her status.
Multiple different realms of study existed; including but not limited to science and mathematics, etiquette that included dances and proper dining etiquette including tea parties or gala events, posture and gait, literacy, language, history, and a heavy influence on politics and diplomatic etiquette.
These were often classes Caitlyn preferred to ignore, often biting back at times. With her eidetic memory, it didn't take her long to read the books and memorize them, even repeating them word for word. She wasn't the easiest child to teach, and when the professors often lectured her, she proved she knew exactly what they taught and what her views on it with intelligence precision, and class that they would be left with nothing to say except annoyance that this prodigy of a child was still not acting like a proper aristocratic daughter.
Caitlyn started her education when she was seven years old and completed it when she was 13 (5 years sooner then most other students.)

 ― [ V ] IOLIN & HARP SPECIALITY .
Tumblr media
She didn't mind the lessons in horsemanship, painting, and poetry, but her favorite class was with Professor Medella, who taught her the beauty of playing the Violin & Harp. All she had to do was look at the music sheet and she would know the music and learn to play quickly. She fell into the music as if she was in a world of her own, moving with the grace of a performer and the enjoyment. At times she would even play at the theater, as was the privilege of her status and class and many enjoyed the pieces, she played that were composed by Professor Medella.
While she fought back against most of her lessons, this was the one she always looked forward to so to ensure Caitlyn didn't avoid the others, her mother often set her Violin lessons to be last and she had to properly listen and learn from her other lessons before she could practice and play her Violin.

 ― [ L ] ANGUAGE PROFICIENTY .
Being part of House Kiramman and the status they upheld, one of the trainings Caitlyn had to go through was learning different cultural languages. This was of vital importance due to the integral design of Piltover and trade with many different nations. Also, ambassadors and visitors from all over would visit and it is not customary to make anyone speak Piltovan so it was taught in aristocratic households to learn as many languages as possible.
With Caitlyn's eidetic memory, learning languages came relatively easy. She wasn't perfect with all of them, but it was customary for most high-ranking houses to know at least 6 different languages due to the constant traffic of ambassadors, tourists, and visits as Piltover is a major port of progress and trade. This means they have to be able to communicate quickly and efficiently with the people they work with.
The most important languages to know are their major nations including Ionia, Noxus, and Freljord. Caitlyn can speak these languages proficiently. She also can speak some sign language, though this can be difficult as sign language is different across all the different nations and some hand gestures and movements may have different meanings.
The other languages that she had to learn are also Demacian, Shuriman, and Buhru. This is because these languages, while part of a culture and trade, are not major nations and are more nomadic or tribe-like, or are currently struggling with in-state problems leading them to be less connected to Piltover. Cassandra also went through the same process of having to learn multiple different languages and had to learn it just as much as Caitlyn did. Cassandra is prepping Caitlyn for when she becomes Councillor, knowing that these languages will be important when she takes the seat (even though Caitlyn has no desire for such things). It's why it's a vital part of her lessons and why she knows so many languages today. Not only is it important to her to take over the council seat, but it is also a form of status and privilege to know so many different languages.

How To Lose Weight Fast, According To Experts
Tumblr media
Implement Long-Term Lifestyle and Behavior Changes When trying to lose weight, ban the word “diet,” suggests Albertson. Dieting can be unpleasant and make you hungry, so you constantly think about food, which is exactly what you don’t want when trying to lose weight. Instead, she recommends thinking of weight loss as a part of getting healthier and concentrating on taking care of your body first. “Weight loss is complicated and you don’t have total control over the number on the scale, but you do have control over what you eat, how much you move and other factors that impact weight, such as stress and sleep,” says Albertson. She suggests setting SMART—specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-sensitive—goals and rewarding yourself when you hit them.
Focus on the First 5% to 10% Instead of saying, “I need to lose 25 pounds,” and overwhelming yourself with what seems like an impossible goal, look toward the health benefits that can come from even modest weight loss. “Set smaller, achievable targets,” suggests Bennett. “Losing only 5% to 10% of your total body weight (TBW) can greatly improve your health and lower your risk for illnesses, such as type 2 diabetes, stroke, cardiovascular disease and certain types of cancer.”
Reduce Your Intake of Ultra-Processed Carbs and Sweets A study in the Journal of the American Medical Association reveals what you eat is most important for weight loss[4]. The pounds will come off more quickly if you improve the quality of the foods you ingest. “One of the healthiest ways to shed weight is to reduce your intake of sugar and rapidly metabolized carbohydrates,” says Bennett. “In particular, you want to cut out or drastically curtail your intake of high-glycemic-load foods, such as sugary snacks, processed carbs and soft drinks. When you avoid or cut back on French fries, chips, crackers and the like, you’ll speed up your weight loss.”
Eat More Plants Research shows a plant-based diet not only promotes weight loss, but is also easier to stick to than a low-calorie diet[5]. Plus, it’s nutrient dense and has numerous health benefits. “Produce supports weight loss because it’s rich in fiber and water, which are both calorie-free yet take up space in your stomach so you feel full,” says Albertson. In fact, a Brazilian study found a direct correlation between increased fruit and vegetable consumption and enhanced weight loss[6]. Albertson suggests aiming to consume five daily servings of produce to start and working up to seven to nine servings a day. “Start your day with a green smoothie, have a salad or cut up vegetables with your lunch and eat fruit for snacks and desserts,” she says. “For supper, have more stir frys, incorporate veggies into your pasta dishes and stir them into soups.”
Pump Up Your Protein Increasing your protein consumption can help reduce appetite and help prevent the loss of muscle mass. “Eating around 25 to 30 grams of protein—two scoops of protein powder or 4 ounces of chicken breast—per meal can improve appetite control and manage your body weight,” says Dr. Albertson. “The best way to do it is to make sure you have one serving of high-quality protein per meal.” Albertson also says women older than 50 need significantly more protein (1 to 1.5 grams per kilogram of body weight daily) than men and younger women (who require .8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight daily). “Women need more protein after 50, especially as they approach menopause, because decreases in the hormone estrogen result in a loss of skeletal muscle mass, strength and regenerative capacity,” she explains.
Drink More Water Research shows drinking more water is associated with weight loss independent of diet and exercise. Ample water intake can help increase satiety and combat sugar cravings. Water is also necessary for lipolysis, the body’s process of burning fat for energy. “I suggest following the eight by eight rule—8 ounces of water eight times throughout the day—for a minimum water intake recommendation,” says Florida-based celebrity trainer Jordan Morello who works for the fitness platform Sweat Factor. “My clients are usually surprised once they add this [rule] into their own routine [by] how much this simple thing can curb cravings and leave you more satiated throughout the day.” Another water trick? Try drinking two cups of water before each meal. Studies have shown this simple move can increase weight loss as well.
If you want to know more and faster ways to lose weight, you can check this.

AY22/23 Sem 2 Module Reviews
The overloading sem. I initially took 32MCs but I dropped to 24MC by week 5 because I couldn’t cope with the workload. It was difficult to simply adopt an S/U mindset and I found myself with very little free time. I also felt like I couldn’t enjoy the extra mods I took out of interest, so the overloading didn’t feel worth it. As a DSA major, I took HSH1000, HSI10000, DTK1234, MA2001 (which were pre-allocated to me because I was even-digit). I also bid for ST2131 (because a lot of DSA major mods have it as a prerequisite) and SP1541 (to S/U).
DTK1234
Module Coordinator: A/P Hans Tan
Tutor: Angela Tay
Lecture Topics:
Week 1-2: Intro Segment - Design Doing, not Thinking (Norman Door) Week 3-4: Segment 1 - Systematic Creativity (come up with problem statements, solution statements) Week 5-6: Segment 2 - Empathize (Empathize with user) Week 7-8: Segment 3 - Do, Undo, Redo (Prototyping) Week 9-10: Segment 4 - Evaluate with People (Evaluate prototype with user) Week 11-12: Wrap Up Segment - Thinking about Design Thinking
Deliverables:
Intro Segment + Segment 1-4 Individual Learning Activity (ILA) - 6% x5 Intro Segment + Segment 1-4 Team-Based Workshop (TBW) - 6% x5 Interim Design Thinking Journal (DTJ) - 15% Final Design Thinking Journal (DTJ) - 25%
Other Comments:
Most people dread this module, and for good reason. This mod is just a lot of fluff and you’ll need good smoking and bullshitting skills to do well, no cap. The ILAs are generally quite doable and you don’t need much time except Segment 1 ILA. The TBWs are either worksheets and class participation through activities and discussions during the fortnightly tutorials. You might find some other reviews saying that how well you do depends on how much your T/A likes you. While I don’t advocate sucking up to your T/A, I think it doesn’t hurt to talk and connect with your T/A, and just participate actively in tutorials :)) As for the module content itself, it really is a lot of fluff and talks about the different phases and steps in design thinking. Just use common sense to figure out how to smoke and “relate” the design thinking concepts to your user and your solutions/problem statements. The DTJ is an extension of this, so you’re expected to reflect and consolidate whatever you learnt or did. Just to be clear, the interim and final DTJ are the same document, just that you do like the first half of the DTJ in the interim, and you do the second half + revise the earlier parts from interim based on your T/As feedback. There’s also a 100 sec video that you have to submit in the final DTJ.
Note that in my semester, unlike the previous semester we weren’t given any of our scores, I only got my overall banding (BE, ME, EE) for the first half ot the semester which included ILA x3, TBW x2 and Interim DTJ, along with some comments.
I actually have very little to say about DTK lol, just don’t do your ILAs last minute, participate actively in the tutorials and smoke smoke smoke and you should be fine HAHA
TLDR:
Module content is fluff, just smoke through your assignments Try to consolidate and flesh out the design thinking concepts in your DTJs (and maybe ILAs) Make your T/A like you

Deliverables:
Fortnightly quizzes (best 6 out of 7): 35% Peer Reviews and Surveys: 5% (note: these are just surveys about the mod and your peers, the peer review scores given by your peers don’t affect your 5%, as long as you complete your peer review of your peers you will get the full credit) Tutorial Preparation Tasks: 5% Tutorial Participation: 15% Meme Competition: 5% Group Discussions Summary x4: 20% (5% each) Final Project: 15%
Other Comments:
I’m honestly quite meh about this module. I think the texts covered are interesting but way too long (80-100 ish pages especially for Gandhi and Xunzi). Most people complain a lot about the quizzes whenever HSH is mentioned, and rightfully so. The quizzes are incredibly painful to do, if you actually try to do them well. You have to understand and analyse/scrutinise the texts and lecture recordings. Here’s a snippet of my work process for the quizzes:
Attempt the quiz myself, with justifications for each choice (whether a statement is right or wrong) written down
Discuss the quiz with my group, and note down the group’s consensus+justifications - this generates Attempt 1 of the quiz (note: you get 3 attempts for each quiz (best score of 3 taken), if Prof Loy is nice he might give an extra attempt)
Analyse Prof Loy’s written replies in the forum to all the hardworking students that asked questions about the quiz. Gather the quiz answers from two of my friends who’ve discussed with their own groups.
Psycho-analyse everything with one of the two friends while taking everything into consideration - justifications for a selection, what Prof Loy says, tele poll (take with a pinch of salt though), the answers generated between the 3 groups. This generates Attempt 2 and 3 (we used the two attempts for different permutations of the answers we weren’t confident about)
I initially put the tele poll answers for one of my attempts, but they were consistently lower than my Attempt 1 and 2. You can probably get a median score if you follow the tele poll, but to really do well I feel that you really need a good group of friends to discuss with. More importantly, you and your group should ideally justify/discuss the quiz answers factually or based on some grounded reasoning (eg. this was said during the lecture/shown on the lecture slides, or this appeared/did not appear in the text and in the context of the chapter/paragraphs, this deduction makes sense). Btw you don’t have to read the whole text before trying the quiz, just watch the lecture recording for a general understanding first, and ctrl-f and read the paragraphs around the paragraph discussed in the quiz sections. As for the rest of the mod, it’s pretty easy. There are tutorials every fortnight, and you have to submit 3 annotations on Perusall before every tutorial (this counts for your tutorial preparation marks). Tutorial participation was very chill, because we would all get full marks as long as we turned up and we all contributed during the group discussions. Tutorials with Nick Loo were quite fun and you can tell that he’s passionate about the mod. He would usually go through some interesting questions and responses by us from Perusall, and then go through some content and skills before making us discuss questions in our groups. Overall, tutorials in HSH are a lot more chill than HSA or HSS where tutorial participation is more harshly graded.
Group Discussion Summaries (GDS) were 400 word responses to one of the three or four questions given. It’s quite OTOT, your group just has to submit it by the week after the tutorial. Your experience with this portion will vary depending on your groupmates. I had very hardworking and smart groupmates so this was easy, while one of my friends had to tank the GDS because his group was lazy and uncooperative. GDS was usually a 2 hour affair every even-week weekend night. Most people should get full marks or close to full marks for GDS anyway. Chop chop finish to focus on your other stuff~
The final project has two versions, a generic one provided by Prof Loy, and a T/A specific one. Choose the T/A one (duh bc your T/A is gonna be the one marking). Mine was on exhibit curation, so I had to do a 700-word write up on two exhibit artefacts chosen for a theme related to what was discussed in any of the texts (you can choose your theme). I did mine on passive resistance which was discussed in Gandhi, then in the writeups I expounded on how each artefact showcased passive resistance in their own way, and linked it back to its relevance to society/me, ala HSA1000 style.
TLDR:
Quizzes and the final project make or break your grade Workload depends on how much effort you put on the quizzes. The tele poll answers usually suck lol Discuss quiz with friends (side note: i noticed those who didn’t tend to do a lot worse for the quizzes)

Deliverables:
Weekly Quizzes - 1% x10 Exploratoriums (Labs) - 5% x2 Workshops - 10% x3 Midterms - 15% Finals - 35%
Other Comments:
Prof Bettens did Block 1: The Scientific Method (L1-L4), Prof Adrian Block 2: Climate Change and Misinformation (L5-L8), Mr Siva Block 3: Climate Change and Biodiversity (L9-L11).
I think this module started out really promising, with very useful skills like the Baloney Toolkit, but it progressively got more boring and fluff. The workshops and labs were super annoying because they were in 3 hour blocks, so timetabling was difficult.
The weekly quizzes are very doable, just watch the lectures/read the notes and attempt. You get 10 attempts per quiz anyway, and you can see your results on Examsoft right after your submission, so you can tell if you’ve hit full marks or not. I used about 3-4 attempts every quiz. You should aim to get full marks for the quizzes because most people would be getting full marks anyway.
The labs and workshops are also quite chill. The labs are slightly easier because you just go there and play do the experiments, and fill up a vanguard sheet with explanations, drawing and other details about your thought process in the experiments. The workshops are also okay, you just need to participate actively and do whatever’s required. Workshop 3 had a field work component, so during recess week, my friend and I went to Labrador Nature Park and Labrador Nature Reserve to gather data and photos (they will have instructions on what to do). The field trip and report was (in my opinion) the most sian part of the module, because I was already so busy but I still have to go all the way to Labrador to measure tree heights??? Well anyway for the workshops, most people seemed to get about 7-8/10. And I have to say that my workshop T/A, Sankar, is a very chill guy who loves animals, he’s super funny too so the workshops are always fun.
Midterms and finals are the differentiating components. They are open-book, closed-internet exams, and you do it on Examplify (the same as the weekly quizzes). You only have 2 minutes per question for both exams, so ctrl-ing F everything isn’t going to work. You have to roughly know the course content, and know which lecture notes to ctrl-F from. Also, from Lecture 7 onwards, the lecture notes weren’t that helpful, and for Block 3 no lecture slides were given. For Block 3 especially, you have to watch the lectures and take down notes, and also save the information about certain policies (like SGP2030) from online because these are tested but only mentioned in passing in the lectures. I recommend collaborating with friends to split the workload in making the lecture notes. Try to get notes from seniors as well, because these can be useful. Overall, the tests weren’t super difficult for my semester.
TLDR:
Weekly quiz must get full marks Labs and workshops are chill, just participate actively in the latter Make your own lecture notes (recommended to split workload amongst your friends) for the second half of the lectures No time to Ctrl-F every question in exam, you need to know the course content roughly and which lecture notes to Ctrl-F

Orthogonality (The dot product, orthogonal bases, least squares solutions, orthogonal matrices)
Diagonalization (Eigenvalues, eigenvectors, diagonalization, orthogonal diagonalization)
Linear Transformation (Linear transformations from Rn to Rm, ranges and kernels)
Deliverables:
Homework - 6.25% x4 Midterms - 25% Finals - 50%
Other Comments:
I have a confession to make. Despite my grade for this mod, I still feel like I suck at linear algebra. I found vector spaces (chapter 3 and 4) to be the toughest because it was difficult to understand the rationale behind the various matrix operations as well as the mathematical terminologies. I feel that if you can understand vector spaces, the rest of the topics are quite manageable.
The workload is generally okay, you have two 2 hour lectures every week, as well as a 1 hour tutorial every week. You’re allowed to tutorial-hop and you can attend any tutorial slot you like, even if it’s not the one you registered for on ModReg. I took full advantage of this, and by a stroke of luck, the first tutorial I went to was Zekun’s. I found his teaching to be very effective, and he even offers consults to students. Guys please take full advantage of your T/As hahah make them work for their $40/hr pay but Zekun was very helpful and I feel that I learnt a lot from his tutorials. Of course, make sure you attempt the tutorial questions before tutorials (which are selected textbook questions) to maximise your learning.
The 4 homework assignments given often have a few difficult questions, and I highly recommend checking your answers with friends to make sure you didn’t make any mistakes. As with most math mods, the median for the homework is usually quite high, either full marks or a few marks from few marks so it is paramount that you try and secure close to full marks if possible.
Midterms and finals were generally quite tough. I didn’t do very well for midterms, I got 32/50 when the average was 29, upper quartile was 35. I think it was due to a lack of understanding of vector spaces, plus computational errors can really cause you to get penalised. I focused a lot on proving questions by practising the textbook questions, but the paper was mainly computational questions (like 34 marks out of 50), while only 6 marks were proving and 10 marks true-false questions. For finals, there were 70% computational, 20% proving and 10% true-false questions, so I changed my strategy and tried all the past-year papers and selected textbook questions to really make sure I get the computational questions right. These are quite standard so you just have to learn the different ways they ask the questions and you should be fine. Don’t worry too much about the proving questions, most people can’t do them anyway, but to really do well, you shouldn’t leave these questions blank. For the true-false questions, if you don’t know just guess and pray that luck is on your side lol.
I can only say that making full use of my T/A, working together with friends and a strategy of focusing on computational questions plus whacking and brute-forcing my way through the tough parts of the paper is probably how I could get the grade that I got.
TLDR:
Focus on computational questions, but try not to leave the proving questions blank in exams Work with friends on the homework assignments Attend tutorials and ask your T/A for help because clearing your doubts early on (especially the topic of vector spaces) is essential Brute-force and just whack if you don’t know the answer

Deliverables:
Book Chapter Reflection - 5% Science News Article - 20% Revised Science News Article - 30% Oral Presentation - 25% Reflective Commentary - 10% Interaction and Engagement - 10%
Other Comments:
This module basically teaches you how to turn research articles (which are meant for specialist readers) into popular science news articles for common people like you and me. They introduce you to various science communication strategies like explanatory strategies and evaluative language.
I didn’t like this module and it had quite a heavy workload. Two 2 hour sectionals every week and you’re expected to do readings and prepare some answers for the discussion questions. This module is just very dry and not enjoyable :( As for my tutor, I don’t really have much comments, she was helpful and answered all of our questions. But yes this module is really boring and I don’t think her style of teaching helped.
I honestly put very little effort into the assignments because I was planning to SU, and especially after I got 66.3/100 for my first science news article submission. They do take some time to do, especially if you’re planning not to SU as you might have to go through a few drafts. You may consider consulting the NUS Libraries Writers’ Centre. I didn’t bother because I wanted to focus on my other modules. For my second science news article which I really didn’t change much and just added some stuff that was required, I got an even more tragic 65.6/100 lol. Ironically, my book chapter reflection and reflective commentary got really high marks at 94/100 and 90/100 respectively (not me spending only 30 minutes on the 300-word reflective commentary :’)
The 8-10 minute oral presentation (I got 71.3/100) which is based on your chosen science news article isn’t terribly hard, just do your best and try to be natural, don’t use any scripts. How natural you are depends on your knowledge about your chosen research article topic, so choose well.

Other Comments:
This mod is really just self-study lol. Prof was quite good at explaining stuff and he would elaborate on stuff with detail so you won’t get lost. However, be warned that the Prof is essentially a boomer the Prof speaks quite slowly and you’ll probably be better off watching his recorded lectures at x2 speed.
I have,,,no words for the tutorials. My T/A was so bad that I don’t know and don’t want to know her name. She was basically talking to her computer the whole tutorial and didn’t explain stuff clearly. I tried giving her a second chance and went up to ask her questions about some of the working after the lesson, but her explanations are very confusing and I left the tutorial room even more confused than when I entered the room .__. I ended up tutorial-hopping and going to the Prof’s tutorial slot instead, which was much better, though there was another T/A who I felt I liked best but unfortunately I was not always free for his timeslots. Anyway the tutorial questions are taken from the textbook and the tutorial answers are uploaded on Canvas so a lot of my friends ended up skipping the tutorials and self-studying.
Quizzes were generally okay except for the last quiz. I got 2/5 for the last quiz (oof) and it seemed like most people got around 2-3/5 also. It was tough because it covered chapter 6 and 7 which were difficult topics, and we probably didn’t have enough practice. Also another comment on the quizzes is that they are mainly in the second half of the semester (the quizzes were held online over the weekend of week 5, 8, 10, 12) which added a lot of unnecessary stress because the second half of the semester tends to have more assignments for other modules. It also didn’t make sense to leave the chapter 1 quiz to week 5, chapter 2 to week 8, chapter 3-4 to week 10. I would have liked a more even distribution of the quizzes over the semester. We were warned not to discuss quiz questions but tbh the quiz questions are mostly the same, usually with different values in the questions, so :)
The midterms were quite easy, and most people scored well for it. Contrary to some other sources, the median was about 22-24 according to the Prof (I heard it from the horse’s mouth). I got 27/30 which was decent but not amazing.
Finals is, as usual, the make or break. I did both the textbook questions (with solutions found online) and the past-year papers, but I think the past-year papers had very different topics and different focus areas and I couldn’t do most of the past-year papers. (Do note that this mod is run by the math department in the first semester, so avoid all sem 1 papers if you’re taking it in sem 2.) I went for a group zoom consult with the prof, armed with a few past-year papers I was unsure of and even he didn’t know the approach to answer the questions. That was the moment I realised that doing the past-year papers were probably not helpful and I should focus on the tutorial questions along with the textbook practice questions. In the finals, the first 3 questions were quite easy and standard, but the last 3 questions were apparently difficult for most people. As it turned out, 2 of the 3 questions appeared in the textbook practice questions in a similar fashion, and I was able to answer them pretty well I think. I only didn’t know how to do the last question which was a proving question. I essentially left it blank :/ But I thought most people would have found the paper easy because the ‘difficult’ questions weren’t really unseen, guess not hahah
TLDR:
Be prepared to self-study. If you get a bad tutor, don’t be paiseh to tutorial hop Make sure you score for the earlier quizzes Keep up with the content, and dedicate more time and effort for Chapter 6 and 7 Do the textbook practice questions to prepare for exams

He had met Fal on accident.
His eyes were trained on the precinct, trying to understand the odd feeling he was getting from the building. At the time, he had no idea the last Bone Witch was a detective there. With coffee in one hand, other in his pocket as he leaned against his car, he didn’t notice he was being watched as well.
Jin calls it one of his finer moments.
Usually he’s much more aware and would’ve noticed her blocks away, eyes raking up and down his body as she decided whether to arrest him or not.
It’s her sass that gets his attention first. And it’s her sass that leads to him marrying her.
Or at least that’s what he said when he proposed.
His real reason, after two whole years of playing a dangerous game, was simple: the last witch. The “weird feelings”, as Jimin always called it, kept him drawn to Fal. The others were confused, not fully understanding why in the world he had to play boyfriend to a human. He had his own abilities that could’ve gotten him easy access. But he’d bite back, stating he needed to cloak his identity in order to keep himself hidden. He was unsure of just how much the last witch knew and how strong she was. He couldn’t risk unnecessary exposure.
He’d tell himself, time after time, that he was simply taking precautions.
When Father asked him one night, the sky pitch black as he slips out from under the sheets wrapped around Fal, he’s unsure of his answer.
And for the first time, he’s afraid.
He was a demon. The leader of Lucifer’s Seven. He hadn’t felt fear since he, himself, was mortal.
But as he stood there, he felt the lie on his tongue. He felt sick when he wrapped himself around her once he returned, her warm skin calming him as he let his eyes close. With every kiss, with every press of their bodies against each other, he knew what he was doing was wrong. He knew there had to be some part of him that wanted to remain next to her.
Demons don’t want stability. They don’t want homes. Wives. Children.
But when she questions him in the morning, limbs tired after extended use, he tells her he wants twins. He tells her he needs to fix the cabinet in the kitchen. He reminds her about grocery shopping. He lets her choose his suit for the day, unaware of what he really does when he leaves her. And he lets her redress him after they unsuccessfully kept their hands off each other.
Yoongi thinks he wants to be human.  An impossibility.
“And if it wasn’t impossible?”
It haunts him. His thoughts alone drive him mad.
When he watches her at night, blinds open so the moon bathes her in its light, he fears what Father would do if he asked to remain with her. If he asked to make room for her in their new world. And then he wonders if she’d even accept. The Namjoon she knows, the one she fell for and married, is a simple man. He isn’t overly special. The real Namjoon is a High Demon. He can rip apart mortals with his eyes. He feeds off their screams. His mission on Earth is to kill the Bone Witches. He’s to help Mammon rule over mankind.
And Mammon would have no place for her.
He had tried, when he first realized his feelings could be more, to break it off. He hadn’t yet proposed. He could’ve disappeared. Easily. He had stood in the closet of their home, looking at his clothes in line with hers, and thought he could do it.
In the end, when she came back, he had asked her to marry him. She had said yes, eyes with tears falling over, as she clung to him right there in the foyer.
They had become a routine. And he continued in fear. In doubt.
Her feelings were clear. Not only with her words but with the way she molded herself against him, her ‘I love you’ echoing against the walls as she tried to stay awake.
She didn’t live in doubt.
Jungkook insisted it was sex. Purely physical. Which he said Jimin knew a few things about, being quite the incubus himself. They’d laugh at her expense and his blood would boil until Jin’s concerned look calmed him down.
“Control your feelings Joon. You’re too expressive and your murderous look could turn a few heads. Relax.”
He didn’t know how to.
It wasn’t sex. He had already thought that. But after multiple nights, Fal pressed into their sheets or against the headboard moaning his name, he realized it wasn’t. His attraction wasn’t only physical.
Which meant, fuck, it meant it was something more.
And that was not good. None of this was good. And he felt stuck.
He didn’t know what love was.  He’s not supposed to.
But she says it, whispers it in his ear as she lays against him, and he finds himself wanting to mean it when he says it back.
“I love you too.” Yes? No? Maybe.
It’s been a total of seven months.
Seven months of training with Jackson in order to better protect yourself from whatever pending danger Mammon had in store for you and the rest of the world.
In the time that had passed, you had moved in with Jaebum, a suggestion made by God himself. He insisted that staying close to the leader would prove helpful in case anything went wrong. You had insisted right back that you weren’t a child and could very well kill anything that needed to be killed with your own bare hands.
Surprisingly, He was amused at how headstrong you were. Whether that was a good thing or not, you couldn’t tell.
Your alarm blared loudly at six am, head popping up from the layers of duvet you had fallen asleep under, groaning at the loud sounds reverberating in your room. It was a Saturday, a well needed day of rest, but like every other Saturday since this all began, you found yourself making your way to the training room in Jaebum’s very large basement.
Being an angel apparently paid well.
Jackson’s already there, the perks of teleportation, munching on an apple as he easily converses with his own new roommate.
Maria.
Smiling, she averts her attention to you, tossing a banana your way, “Eat up princess. Jiaer said today’s going to be tough.”
You grumble at the nickname, one that Jaebum decided suited you better than your own name, and bit into your fruit.
“Every training day is rough Maria. Has Jacks been lying to you and telling you he’s been taking it easy?”
He splutters in the background, quickly defending himself, as she laughs loudly, “I’m sure he doesn’t pull any punches. But it’s for your own good.”
You’re still scowling as you begin your stretches, “Yes mom.”
Jinyoung strolls in then, eye smile on full display, as he tries to hide it behind a large book. One that, no doubt, you’ll have to read.
You’ve gone through many thick spined books in his library since this all started.
“Good morning Jinyoungie. Why the uh…why the happy face?”
He stops, faltering in his step, and for a second you see his embarrassed face over the rim of the book. You’ve never seen Jinyoung embarrassed. It’s not something you see. At all. Ever.
Smirking, you get up and come closer, “Jinyoung? Are you okay?”
He nods, cheeks pink, “Of course. Training this morning?”
You shrug, “As always. How did your…date…with Shan go?”
At her name, he becomes a full blown tomato, dashing to the stairs that lead to the upper portion of the training ground, his own little reading nook with a desk Jaebum got him years ago. You’re giggling, Maria and Jackson watching him with matching amused looks.
“Yah! Park Jinyoung! How’d your date with Shan go?”
He sends his own death glares, the ones he usually reserves for Yugyeom, “It was fine! Leave me alone!”
“Not a chance,” you mumble, taking the steps two by two while Jackson taught Maria a few new tricks. You flop onto the couch situated across the desk, legs crossing casually. Seconds tick by and he says nothing but your smirk is starting to get on his nerves. Slamming his hands down, face still on fire, he yells, “Fine! You want to know what happened? We had sex Y/N. Happy?”
You choke on your own spit, attempting to stop your shit eating grin from forming. “Very,” you say, chuckling as he tries to once again, hide his face.
Jinyoung had stumbled upon Shan all those months ago when he was tailing Jimin, curious as to what the little shit was up to when he wasn’t causing problems for the rest of them. Jimin’s specialty was women. And you were thankful his attention was diverted from your precinct’s resident coroner.
Ever since their night of conversation and too much wine, they seemed to be attached at the hip when he wasn’t teaching you or filling any angel duties. Jaebum was hesitant at first, the “distraction” unwelcome at such a critical time. But the usual “stick to the rules” Park Jinyoung found himself unable to stay away. You were surprised they even lasted this long with the way they both spoke about each other.
And the way their lips seemed to always be attached.
You’re about to tease him mercilessly, you’ve come to treat him like a brother, but you’re interrupted by a shirtless Jaebum returning from shower.
Momentarily distracted by hello wow abs, Jinyoung uses the moment to smirk and shift the subject, “Morning.”
He nods once, eyes sliding over you as he towels his hair dry, “Training?”
“It’s Saturday after all.”
“Right. Well Father needs me. I’ll be up there for awhile.”
“Be back for lunch,” Jackson chimes from below, right before Maria lands a kick to his abdomen. Jaebum ignores the string of high pitched apologizes and grabs a nearby shirt before disappearing completely. You huff, leaning back, and meet Jinyoung’s eyes. They’re filled with the knowledge you don’t know want to hear so you jump up and demand that Jackson teach you something instead of getting his ass kicked.
Jinyoung just hums and decides to find out what Shan is up to.
“She’s distracted,” Jaebum says, eyes closed.
“Maybe it’s best if you kept your clothes on around her Jaebum-ah. She is a woman after all.”
Jaebum winces, remembering your reaction to his bare upper half this morning. Lately, it seemed like your eyes found him quicker than before.
“My apologies Father. I’m not…used to having a female around.”
“Rose didn’t count?”
God: 2. Jaebum: 0.
Scratching the nape of his neck in embarrassment, he can’t seem to turn around. A chuckle sounds from over his shoulder, clouds moving beneath him.
“I may have created the world Im Jaebum, but I know how to make a joke. And as for Y/N, it’s only been a few months. It took no time for Rose to accept who and what she was because she was always ready for it. Her sister wasn’t the same. She’ll be ready. Just keep teaching her. She’s a quick learner and she seems to be more open as of late. I know you can lead her in the right direction.”
“Thank you for your faith Father.”
“I’ve always had faith in you. In all of you. Just do not give up. And talk to each other. Nothing will be solved if you cage in your feelings and forget to communicate.”
“Yes Father. Y/N also wants to know if you need to see for anything.”
“Inform her I’ll come and see her if I do. For now, she should focus on training.”
“I’ll let her know then.”
“Oh and Jaebum-ah?”
He turns, curious.
“Do please tell Jinyoung and Jackson to remain focused as well. It seems…love is in the air. Remind them of the rules.”
“…yes Father.”
“She’s getting stronger. If we wait any longer, she’ll be at full capacity within a few more months!”
He scowls, fire burning hotter, “Don’t you yell at me you ungrateful brat. I know what’s happening. My Seven are keeping an eye out.”
“One of your Seven is falling in love with a human. One look at her pretty face and Joonie is melting like a damn puddle. What kind of demon is he Father?”
“You shut your fucking mouth. Anymore disrespect and I’ll find a way to lock you away somewhere for the rest of eternity. He knows what he’s doing. Everything must be in place to cause the maximum amount of damage. Think of it child. The destruction of Heaven and of Earth all in one. Quite the time saver, don’t you think?”
“I’m impatient Father.”
“I know you are. And that’s why you’re still stuck here. Leave it be for now. I’ll handle the Seven. Everything will be perfect, you’ll see. That wretched world will be ours. And when that last witch is dead, we can cover everything in fire and ash.”
You’re exhausted, body sore from the beat down Jackson delivered hours ago. Arms screaming and legs like jelly, you try and get comfortable in bed, one of Jinyoung’s books nestled in your lap.
“The history of God and his angels are important. Read up,” he had said, tossing the heavy tome onto your sheets.
It wasn’t light reading but your mind wouldn’t shut off so you thought it best to give it a try, lest your teacher surprise you with a quiz of some sort. But forty pages in and the words were blurred and your head was spinning.
Sighing, you shut it, placing it on your nightstand and deciding ice cream would definitely help in the quest for a good night’s sleep.
Even if it was already almost three in the morning.
Shuffling down the hall towards the kitchen, you wonder which ice cream you should have when your ears pick up music.
The piano.
Following the sound, you find yourself in a hallway you don’t venture down often. It’s the cluster of Jaebum’s rooms that you never dared to wander into. He hadn’t given specific instructions when you moved in, besides keeping things clean, but privacy was important to you. Even when you were living with Maria, you didn’t just walk into her room when you needed something. So you treated your new arrangement the same.
But tonight, you were overly curious, the tune familiar. His door is slightly ajar, light spilling through, and you quietly push it open in order to listen comfortably. You find a spot on the floor, his back to you, as you let his music wash over you. You don’t know why the sound is so familiar until it’s been a few minutes.
Inhaling sharply, you realize it’s Rose’s song. She sang it to you on the nights you saw demons. On the night you couldn’t sleep and wanted nothing more than her comforting voice filling your ears.
Rose had a beautiful voice.
You wonder how Jaebum knew it and want to ask but you’re frozen in your spot. Your chest constricts painfully and before you know it, a sob rips through you and you quickly try to muffle it with your hand. The music stops and he turns, eyes wide as he sees you there. He’s by your side in a second, sliding on his knees towards you, hands outstretched.
“Y/N? Are you okay? What are you still doing up?”
You don’t have any coherent answers, voice lost as you continue to cry. He holds you close, you’ve never been this close to him before, save that first night he was in your bed and answered your questions.
Since then, he did his best to keep his distance.
Now, his fingers curled around your shoulders, trying to sooth you as best he could. You didn’t know why you were suddenly this way but you didn’t have time to think about it, clutching onto him as the last remnants of her song faded into nothing.
“You loved my sister,” you say, hands clutching a glass of water.
Jaebum can’t look at you, his gaze instead out over the ocean that acts as a backyard to his large home. He looks tired, hair falling over his eyes as they search the waves out ahead. You don’t say anything, for once you want him to actually talk to you, opting to drink instead.
You seem so far from him, like the space dividing you is too vast for the small friendship that had formed.
“I don’t think so,” he finally says.
That surprises you.
“I don’t really know what love is Y/N. Besides the love Father gives and the love I feel for the others. Romantic love, I know nothing about. Before I died, before I became an angel, I was too young to know what it was either. Besides the love of my parents, the love I had for my cat, there was nothing. I didn’t date much and even when I did, there was never a true connection. I didn’t believe in love at first sight. I still don’t. I can say, with certainty, that my feelings for your sister were short lived but different. Whether that was it or it wasn’t, I’m not sure. There was no time to find out. Plus…”
“…the rules,” you whisper.
“The rules. You know them. No relations.”
You continue to stare at the glass you’re grasping, “What about Jinyoungie? Jackson? Maria and Shan are my friends, I don’t want them to get hurt.”
“Pain is apart of love, isn’t it?”
You look up, “It is. But it’s not fair for them to love my friends knowing it can never be more. That’s cruel.”
“Jinyoung and Shan, I’m unsure about them. But you shouldn’t worry about Maria and Jackson. They’re…special. And that’s all I can really say about it.”
You want to press further but you’re still so curious about one thing in particular, “Jaebum. How did you…die? How did you all become angels? My grandmother always told me angels were chosen by the good deeds while they were alive.”
He stares at the waves crashing against the rocks and turns towards you, extending his hands, “I’ll show you.”
The moment your fingers touch, you find yourself on the beach, toes sinking into the sand. Jaebum has a tight hold on you, gaze still fierce at the ocean.
“I drowned.”
“You must’ve been scared,” you say quietly.
“I don’t remember. I was driving home from a friend’s house and the car in front of me lost control and went over the railing into the ocean. I dove in, not even a second thought, and I was able to pull them out. One by one. The parents. A child. But I drowned. I was too tired to keep pushing my legs and my arms and I fought to try and get to the surface but…the darkness took me nonetheless. I was an angel, complete with wings, when I woke up in Heaven.”
His hand is warm on your shoulder as he points up and to the left, to the railing of the highway above, “There Y/N. That’s where the railing broke. That’s where I dove off. This ocean is where I died.”
“So you bought a house here? Doesn’t that…isn’t that painful? To see the water everyday?”
He shrugs, “I built the house here on purpose. I’ve been living here ever since Father sent me. I wanted to remember it. I wanted to remember the lives I saved and the fear I didn’t feel when I jumped in to save them. This water is a reminder that I was good once. That my heart wasn’t only thinking of myself.”
“How old were you?”
“I had just turned twenty three.”
“How…did the others…”
He chuckled quietly, “Of course you’d ask. Jackson’s story is quite the heroic tale so maybe ask him one day. Jinyoung was heading home from the library one night and pushed a student out of the way before a car could hit her. Bam saved his mother in a restaurant fire back in Thailand. And Yugyeom died trying to save Bam. They had been best friends ever since Gyeom-ah was there on a student exchange program. Youngjae’s death was similar to Jinyoung’s except there was a dog involved. His neighbor’s dog that had gone missing. All non heroic deaths but deaths that Father deemed worthy of wings. We each gave up a moment in our lives that we could’ve used to save ourselves. Instead, we chose a different path. And ended up here.”
You’re unsure what to say next, sentences unable to form as he held you on the beach. The sound of the water had always been calming to you but now, it held something more and you couldn’t help picture a drowning Jaebum, hands clawing at the water as if it was going to reach for him and save him.
Tears are falling again and you wipe them away quickly before he sees. Your heart hurts. For Rose. For Jaebum. For the others that were by your side and joined in your fight against Mammon.
And you asked God, because now you knew he heard, that when this was over you’d be allowed to stay with them.
In the end, he delivers you back to your room and quietly tells you to get some rest. Grabbing his sleeve before he’s out your door, you ask him one last question, “How did you know that song?”
“I never told Rose what I told you, if that’s what you’re wondering. But she sang it to me anyway, on the nights I would drown in my dreams.”
“Come on Y/N, focus!”
You shake the loose hair from your eyes, sweat dripping in places you had never known sweat could accumulate. Jackson had demanded another training session, this time on a Wednesday, just to keep you on your toes.
You had gone through rough training to become a cop but there was nothing like sparring with Jackson Wang.
You spring back up, hands protecting your face, as he comes at you again. Jabbing once, twice, three times at your abdomen, you find a weak spot and throw your body into the air. Spinning around quickly with one fist outstretched, you use your generated momentum to put force behind the resulting contact: his jaw.
The sound seems sickening, a crack too loud to not cause any damage. Jackson is on the ground in seconds, clutching his face as he stares up at you. Without looking, you know you’re glowing. You can feel the power spreading through you like wildfire, touching every nerve and muscle, lighting them up like the Fourth of July. Fists clenched at your side, you try to calm your erratic breathing.
Somewhat mystified, Jackson finally speaks up, “You’ve never hit me that hard before.”
Letting out a shaky breath, you can feel things returning back to normal, “Jiaer. Please tell me I didn’t break you.”
“I’m an angel babe. It takes alot more to break me. Plus, technically, you can’t kill me. I’m already dead.
You don’t laugh at his joke, a frequent one he makes just to entertain you, and he can sense now that something is wrong.
“Hey. What is it? Tell me what you’re feeling.”
“I don’t know what I’m feeling. It’s just…there are no words. That scares me Jackson.”
“Come on, sit. Explain it to me.”
He gently pulls you to the ground as you regain your normal coloring, the tingle always left behind still thrumming gently through your veins. You shut your eyes and then open them to stare at Jackson, concern written all over his handsome features.
“We’ve been at this for months. You’ve been training me. Jinyoung’s been acting as my history teacher. I’ve moved into Jaebum’s home. And I have my work at the precinct. Fal keeps asking when I’m inviting her back for dinner and I never have an answer. It’s not like I can invite her here. Which isn’t really the point.”
With an amused smile he asks, “Then what is?”
“The point is…what if I can’t do this? What if…my powers as a Bone Witch, isn’t enough to defeat Mammon? In the end, this glowing thing is what’s going to have to save the world. I have no idea how to control it. Not fully. And I’m going to hurt someone, I know I am. And I’m suddenly so terrified of what happens if we don’t win. I don’t think I can handle losing all of you. I don’t think I can handle watching the world burn.”
He pulls you to him, strong arms encasing you with a sense of security, and chuckles, “We’ve got time Y/N. No one can saw how much, we don’t know what Mammon is planning. But you can do this. Your sister was strong. But so are you. We are going to help you, every step, until you win.”
“How can I learn more?”
“Well dear child, I think I can help with that.”
A/N: Somehow, overnight it seems lol, @kpopfanfictrash & @the-porcelain-doll-xo have integrated themselves into my storyline. I’m now very invested haha. Their stories will have happy endings as well. I hope. Until next week. xoxo

Ok but Ingo being in legends kinda makes TBWS a bit more complicated. I don't know when this happens, which is the problem. When did Ingo get Isekaied and for how long. Cause as I 've said, Elliot works at the Battle Subway. The submas twins are her bosses. If this is during Galar, then she wouldn't go, no cap. Unless Emmet tells her it's okay, then she would stick by Emmets side. If this happens before SwSh, then things are fine, for the most part. The gap between b2w2 to swsh in my timeline is 6 years. A lot can happen in 6 years. Would it make sense? IDK!
Idk what I'm trying to ask here, tbh. Ideas? I guess? Idk, but if there's one thing I can say for sure is that Ingo will 100% be coming back to Emmet with a Hisuian Sneasle egg cause he deserves it.

Talking Books With @books-and-cookies!
Tumblr media
[What is this and how can I participate?]
Hi and welcome to the first edition of TBW!
I’m really excited to be sharing this with all of you. Our guest today was the first person who reblogged my post, and I’m convinced half of my success is due to her. I’m sure most of you know her, and if you don’t, you’re in for a treat. Today we talk memoirs, memories, and rituals.
Important note: I haven’t changed or edited any of the answers. I’ve only formatted the book titles so they were clearer, but nothing else. Because I’m incapable of shutting up, my comments are between brackets and in italics, so you can distinguish them clearly.
So without further ado, let’s do this!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
[Image description: a square titled “Know the blogger”. Name & pronouns: Maria (aka Mary), she/her; country: Romania; three adjectives to describe her: scatter-brained, introverted & sarcastic /end of description]
1. What is a memoir you love or want to read?
I'm actually not interested in memoirs, to be perfectly honest. I never read non-fiction, I just don't gravitate towards the genre. But if I'd really have to pick something, I'd probably read Michelle Obama's Becoming, because I've seen a loooot of people absolutely adore that book and I'm intrigued to see if it's as good as people make it to be :)
[Becoming is a fantastic book and everyone should read it!!!!!! Another very recommended memoir is Daring to Drive, by Manal al-Sharif]
2. Last book you recommended?
The Nevernight trilogy - I just finished reading Godsgrave and it's currently my favourite book of 2020 - it's such an amazing, twisty, fantastic trilogy and I cannot praise it enough. The last 5 pages of Godsgrave had me screaming. But also, I always find a reason to recommend Illuminae, because it's my all time favourite book and I HAVE TO.
[Everything is by Jay Kristoff]
3. Do you have any reading rituals?
Usually just during weekends - I like to wake up, make myself a cup of coffee and just sit in bed and read for a few hours. It's when I get most of my reading done nowadays. Sometimes I like to take my coffee outside in my yard and get some sun and watch my dogs run around as I read :)
[This actually sounds lovely, I just pick a book and sit down wherever the TV isn’t on.]
4. How do you choose your next book to read?
9 times out of 10, I rely a lot on my mood to pick. If I'm not really feeling a book, I run the risk of a reading slump and no one wants that. So, I just look at my bookshelf and let my mood guide my hands. However, if I'm marathoning a series, I tend to just go from one book to the other, because I want to get the entire picture in one sitting. (that makes it hard to separate the events of the series into their respective books, but that's a different story :P I once completely forgot the entire plot of City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare. Ooops)
[*looks at my very detailed monthly TBR posts...* Yeah, can’t relate]
5. Favourite book-related memory?
A few years ago, my dear friend Alison sent me the Tower of Dawn box by the YA Chronicles, and unbeknownst to me, inside the box was a paperback copy of The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon (one of my all time favourite books and series), with a Happy Birthday dedication and autograph from the author. It was such a huge surprise, but I was honestly so incredibly happy and touched. That copy of The Bone Season is my favourite book in my entire book collection.
[WHAT A LOVELY PRESENT, 10/10 WOULD HAVE A FRIEND LIKE THAT]
Free space to say/add/recommend anything!
I just wanted to add that the Booklr community will always be one of the best spaces on the entire internet and I'm honoured to still be a part of it, more than 6 years after I got started with book blogging. People have come and gone, but the spirit is still there and I'm really really glad we're still around.
[<3]
You can follow her at @books-and-cookies, on her Instagram, and on her Goodreads.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you, Mary! It was a delight chatting with you.
Next interview: Saturday, 5th September.

5.0 out of 5 stars Think you need a new computer because yours is slow?
Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2018
Capacity: 250 GBStyle: SSDVerified Purchase
It used to be that adding RAM was the easiest and cheapest way to speed up a slow computer. That never addressed the real bottleneck of a computer, which is the hard drive. I had a customer complaining that they probably needed a new computer even though theirs was only a little over a year old. Knowing that they had a standard platter-style hard drive, I suggested this. The boy is glad that I did! Saved her hundreds of dollars on a new computer and likely thousands on lost time waiting for her computer to 'compute' as her entire business relies on her computer to make her money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick and hassle-free migration from HDD to Samsung EVO 860 SSD on aging desktop
Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2018
Capacity: 500GBStyle: SSDVerified Purchase
I have a nearly 9-year-old CyberPower desktop with an Asus P6T Motherboard and wanted to eliminate a potential point of failure to eke out a little more longevity. And if I got some enhanced performance, all the better. Turns out it was a very good move.
Of course, the order came within the two day Prime window which one expects from Amazon. I also got the Corsair Dual SSD Mounting Bracket
that was an order option for another 6 bucks. I reviewed it separately but it's a must-have if you are installing into a 5 1/2 inch bay like I was. The SSD comes with an Installation Guide, which I didn't need other than to follow a web site link provided in order to install the Samsung Data Migration Software and Samsung Magician Software. Since I was installing the SSD to replace my C System drive, I needed to clone that drive onto the SSD. And the Data Migrations software works perfectly. After formatting the SSD (NTSF), I cloned 232GB to the SSD in just 31 min with a SATA 3.0 to SATA 3.0 connection. It would have been much faster has my PC supported SATA 6.0. Then removed the HDD and installed the SSD into the mounting bracket, connected the SSD to the SATA data cable and power cable (I used the same port as the C drive HDD was connected to), powered the PC up and it booted hassle-free, with no issues. It was indeed a perfect clone of the previous drive. There were no issues that required going into the BIOS screen. This will only be an issue if you do not use the same exact SATA data connection that was attached to your former C system drive.
I'm amazed how much faster the drive is. The Magician software not only carves out a bit of the drive for overhead, but it also has a cool performance test you can run on all installed drives. So I ran it on the SSD and a 6 TB WD HDD dedicated to pictures and the Random IOPS results were: for the SSD 8,789 read and 19,775 write vs for the HDD 178 read and 244 write. While that may sound unbelievable, it isn't. You actually experience this speed differential while working on the PC.
This was definitely $150 well spent!

I mean, it wouldn't be such a nuisance if it wasn't so hard to pronounce, I'm really conscious about my way of speaking so what really takes me back is the speaking part 😔 (the most important 😓)
Finally it wasn't so bad, I would've stayed more time if it wasn't for some things I have to do here, but after this experience I'm thinking of going there to at least start studying while I take care of my cousin. I have much to think about, I'll have to talk it out with my bed 💤
Would you know 👀 I'm actually on ep 8 of All of us are dead, but I'll talk about that in another ask...
Well actually, these last days HxH has been really fun, I like this exam arc, but I prefer watching it with my friend bc I like to say stupid shit and we end up laughing all the time. (Actually Hisoka's parts usually have that flamenco music so we always make fun of it dancing to it 😂) Domestic Girlfriend is... confusing, like 'why are you making an anime about this??? 🧐'. Yeah, I'll check out that one then, the only sports anime I've seen is Haikyuu and I loved it, I'd like to watch Yuri on Ice and Free! Have you watched them?
It's good to hear that, must really come in handy knowing a person in every school, I could never 😂 Then I've totally achieved my goal 😌‼️ I always have much love to give so anytime you need reassurance, I'm here 🕴️
ahh... I wouldn't know... As I'm an only child I only know I would give my life for my parents, but I don't actually know if I'd like to have siblings... My mother told me she wanted to have manyyy kids, like 6 or so, but due to reasons she decided not to, but damn, I wouldn't want to be oldest sibling out of that bunch 👀 I can't even imagine the pressure.
Well, the first Agatha's book I read was 'And then there were none' at 13-14 for school, and to this day it's the first that comes to mind when recommending one, it really has you on the edge all the time (the introduction is kinda long and a little boring but after the dinner it all escalates) and bombastic plot twist 💥. Murder in the Orient express is also a classic.
Yeah, now my mind is in ‼️All of us are dead‼️but I'll check their synopsis out.
Take care and get better angel <3 - 💐
oh so you CAN speak french‼️meh i say don't be too concerned over an accent or the way you speak or anything 💔 it's so stupid that we gradually feel more self conscious about it as we grow up tho and like, the concern is so common and yet <//3 idk kids generally have it so easy with learning languages and talking since they don't hold back like we might do smh
pls im glad you're in the fluffy and fun and adventure filled era of hxh for now 😭 hisoka is sick af, but the music just makes it better yeah lmao it gets gradually so so dark and the tension just makes your neck sore sometimes 💔💔 there are so many "wtf" animes so ig domestic gf is that kind too haha i haven't watched yuri on ice (at least not in full episodes, i do know what goes on tho) but free! is still on my tbw list... for the past years.... still haven't watched it bc so many new stuff are coming out 😭🤚
thanking my dad for the amount of ppl ik istg i still don't know how my memory is capable of that </3 thanks for being the reliable older sister (figure) i never had 💜💔
trust me. being the oldest isn't worth any of its very few advantages 😐 im the oldest of four and you have to be the second mother to everyone. just— no. i would never recommend being born first and im very serious about this oml. ppl might always complain about being lonely as an only child, but that's far better than being constantly surrounded by multiple gremlins at once 🥴 they look up to you for everything, so you never get to make mistakes (as my mom always tells me to behave or else you're being "a bad influence" and teaching them something bad 💔🙁). also bc you were your parents' first kid, they'll be harsher on you but the rules they once reinforced on you will lighten up so much more with your younger siblings. okay im done with my mini rant anyways you can see how done i am with this entire older sister life 💀💀
after i finish my recently bought books, i'll be checking out and then there wer none!!

Sage back story/outlines.
Sage Elodie Greene is in her mid-thirties, born and raised in Tucson, Arizona to Alan Greene and Vela Elodie, *(her parents have never been married)* until her family relocated for the third time in her thirteen years. She never really connected with any if her classmates outside of school, leaving her to hang out with her wealthy family, mostly with her older sisters, Cori Anne and Marybeth or her favorite option, sketching designs or sewing them into life on the same sewing machine that her mother sewed her first dress which then launched ELODIE CO., her mother's clothing line, and built the ELODIE Empire up from nothing, just her and Sage's father, and their two other daughters, running their empire together. Cori Anne is living overseas in the UK with her husband and three children, running the London office and Marybeth lives in California supposedly running the San Fran office remotely from her "vacation home in LA" *(subplot)* Sage is currently single and working on being the first Elodie partner to launch her own clothing line that started with a bunch of skirt sketches, like her mother, Sage created and turned her loneliness into an empire. *(subplot)*
While Sage was playing with her barbies, she was approached by Lacey Vallen in the second grade and the two of them continued playing barbies until they grew out of barbies and into makeup when they were approached by Stefan Ramos in the 5th grade, He was the new kid and Sage wanted to be nice, Lacey just went along with whatever Sage said and did. In fact, one of the reasons why Lacey hates Sage as adults is because she forced her to go along with a lot of stupid things then abandoned her when she needed her friend the most. *(subplot)*
The three of them did everything together until Sage's 12th birthday when they were playing spin the bottle and got spun three times meaning they were supposed to do whatever they wanted for seven minutes, (junior high-kid stuff) and found the two of them making out the three of them weren't the same after that. *(subplot)* Lacey does not talking about it. The secret doesn't start to come out until Kailee and Sage start talking about a partnership with her NY boutique. *(subplot)* Lacey, of course does what she can to stop the truth from happening. *(plot twist?!)* Sage will eventually learn the truth about Lacey and Stefan's roller coaster of a friendship, and that they continued to stay close and treasured the bond they had with Sage, hoping that one day she'd come back one day. Lacey is angry at Sage for leaving and for coming back. Stefan will soon learn that Sage has returned. *(subplot)*
Sage is related to Kailee and Tasha Jonson.
A single Sage spends a lot of time at her former friends bar and hitting on her business partner, completely unaware that they have a 10-15 year long history. *(subplot)*

2. Marybeth Elodie-Greene, working remotingly, suspiciously alone? part one.
3. Marybeth part 2.
4. the downfall of Stagacy* (part 1)
5. Kailee and Sage partnership.
6. Sage's abandonment (part 2)
7. Stegacy* reunion.
8. Single Sage.
dated stefan ramos until he started hooking up with lacey in the 7/8th grade. she blames her for tearing the group apart, the three of them used to be best friends, (friendship: 2nd to 8th grade.)
(side note: laceys deepest secret, not even jace knows)
sage's family moved to upper east side where she started her career with her familys business, launching her clothing line SAGE.
straight out of high school, Sage went to a four year fashion school for resume purposes, then was handed a job at her family's company, when she sketched out a line of SAGE skirts in edition to her line of SAGE heels.
Sage secretly longs to feel apart of a group, she hasn't had that since she was a kid, she carries a picture of her childhood friends, Stefan Ramos and Lacey Vallen from the first day they met at the docks.
