End of session! I see why Martyn was being super cryptic when someone asked how the session went. I think next session will probably be the last given how much of the server is on red, and that’s there’s no greens left to get lives back. Unless you count Impulse, I guess.

My final thoughts on the wild card are that it’s super fun! I love that they all got their own unique power, especially because some of the powers seem to be themed to them specifically like Cleo’s zombies and Bdubs having time manipulation!

Further post expanding on my Listener!Jimmy headcanons, you might need to read my Solidwood post for a little bit of context,

before we get started I wanna mention a TW of body horror as I talk a bit about it, I apologize deeply in advance

As mentioned in said Solidwood post, Jimmy's wings change when he becomes a Listener. Prior they're kind of small, especially compared to other hybrids. If you were to compare Grian's, (after EVO, he didn't have wings prior) his wingspan would engulf Jimmy's. That doesn't mean he can't fly, he definitely can but it takes him a little to get them going, he tends to be a bit clumsy with them sometimes but when he gets his balance he's good as golden.

Jimmy's wings are a bright and deep sky blue tapper into black, a gorgeous color and a beautiful sight

Jimmy loves the feeling of flying, even if it's in short bouts (He tends to get distracted usually by another player (sometimes it's because he's admiring Martyn from above)) and ends up with him suddenly crashing into something or losing his balance/consternation. Jimmy usually flies with his arms up a lot like Wonder Woman, taking in the feeling and revealing in it, enjoying it, sometimes even closing his eyes and letting himself get lost in it.

TW: BODY HORROR SKIP NEXT PARAGRAPH IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ

During the ritual to become a Listener (ooo minor lore drop) Jimmy went through... Several painful transformations but we'll focus on his wings for today folks. (Hint hint I'm still figuring out and writing out my Watcher and Listener lore) The bones of his wings snap and break as more bone started grow, shifting and growing larger and larger in size, feathers slowly started to change hue, some even falling off as more grew, his wingspan becoming much bigger, his back and wings feeling like their on fire as the pain throbbed through out them, causing haunting and painful screams to pour from Jimmy himself.

Afterwards his wingspan is much larger, now far more comparable to Grian's own, compared to a normal yellow canary hybrid's, Jimmy's wings look off. The once beautiful blue wings now a bright overpowering yellow, while oh so beautiful, they come across as almost... Unnatural. It's a jarring sight to anyone's who's known him before the change, something he can't really hide but instead beats the bush around, an uncomfortable look on his face when the topic is brought up...

Jimmy doesn't fly too much anymore either, his wings being far bigger then they originally were, are now too big for his body, almost too big to balance himself just standing. They weigh heavy on his back to point they hurt at times, almost mocking him for vow he took. When he spreads them out, he always hit's something or someone, no longer being able to control them that well.

And while his wings can more easily support his body weight in the sky, Jimmy can barely get too far without started to nose dive down one side, his wings growing too heavy and dragging him down until he crashes. Flying becomes more and more of a painful memory, the days where he would stretch out and feel the world around him long gone.

Even if he wanted to fly, The games don't really allow the time or space to do so, the area always too small, the height limit always too limiting. Jimmy can stretch his wings as many times as he wants, stare up towards the sky with a mission, a want, a dream. It doesn't matter when he takes off, tries to stretch his hand as far as he can, pushing forward harder and harder, desperately trying to ignore how gravity pulls him down, how easily his horribly cursed wings give up.

Jimmy will never be able to feel the taste of the sky and the clouds between his fingers again

(tinnitus for listeners, CKD because when I was thinking of what to give him, my brain went "hypertension" and I was like "where did I get that from and what is it?" And then my brain went "CKD. It's chronic" and hypertension is in fact a symptom so okay brain whatever you say [ps it's high blood pressure for anyone wondering and my brain was using my big kid words fsr])

What pairing in the life series do you think is the most underrated and why?

How did you get your art looking so CLEAN!! Your line work and colouring is gorgeous and I will never get over it!

tricky first one! The first one comes to my mind is Pearl and Scar at the end of secret life, I was on edge watching the last fight between them and Gem. Recently I've been seeing Scar-Pearl gain some popularity tho, which is very neat! But aside from that, Impulse and Pearl in wild life, Cleo and Bdubs in limited life, Martyn and Mumbo in last life too!

2- firstly, thank you! I do not have a better device than my smart phone right now. Since its a phone, I dont have access to the pressure sensitivity at all. Pressure sensitivity lets you do different weighted lines and such. So I decided to keep my lineart as minimum as possible with only one brush and a specific size throughout the whole piece. To make it easy to manage. That's what makes it look "clean" I think. It goes same for the coloring. My colors are just base colors + multiply layer where I want the shadows to be + then I just keep messing with new light layers until it looks fine to me.

Thinking about accents, is that also partially why everyone reads Stressmonster101 firmly as mom/older? I am not great with accents but I don't think she talks the same was as Grian.

Ooo yes!! Shes nae northern but has a strong Essex accent which is also associated with workin classness! I rate thats an aspect for sure!

I cannae speak to how Essex accents works specifically cause that's southern shenanigans, tho I can say "Geordie shore" (northern) and the "only way is Essex" (southern) are both TV shows in Britian that you watch to laugh at people from those areas for being dumb and materialistic (afaik I've not... Watched them just consumed em viacoursly) which is *obviously* playin on class shite there. So there's a lot of very strong stereotypes for Essex accents specifically also.

ooo thoughts on what order people got to camp? like who was there first n how long it was before they got claimed? any thoughts about when quests happened in reference to ppl arriving?

I don't have many arrivals planned actually! Also I have yet to establish an actual timeline, I thought this was gonna be a throwaway au and then we all accidentally got invested /pos

The ones that I do have planned are:

Guqqie and Bill! This one is only semi-planned, to be fair. Guqqie falls out of the sky, no idea how they got there aside from that. The running theory is that Demeter kept Guqqie with her in Olympus and something happened that had them cast out. This lines up with Bill running away and hearing about the camp. Guqqie crash lands, hits Bill, comes pretty close to killing him, and the two of them manage to get to the camp! They earn the nicknames "girl from above" and "boy from below" from this incident!

Jimmy! Jimmy is found on a quest that Scott and Lizzie go on. They take him back to camp initially because he's Lizzie's brother, but then it turns out he can see through the mist, and he's claimed pretty soon after.

Xornoth, Shrub, and Joey! As said in earlier asks, Shrub and Joey were in the same group home. Now, because Shrub is the kid of a minor god, she didn't give off much of a scent. Paired with Joey, though, the both of them gave off enough to warrant suspicion from satyrs! Now, when Xornoth gets to the group home, the scent grows again. This attracts monsters a lot more than it did before, because two kids of the twelve olympians, plus another kid of a minor god, plus the satyrs, plus the introduction of Katherine, that starts a larger monster attack. Katherine gets knocked out, and a satyr or two convince Xornoth, Joey, and Shrub to run in a certain direction, and leads them to the camp.

Scott! Scott shows up a year after Xornoth, Shrub, and Joey. Scott ran away, but like. Unintentionally? He and Xornoth didn't have the greatest mortal parents. They didn't care when Xornoth disappeared, and they didn't care when Scott did either. He just went on a walk and never stopped walking. Eventually a satyr clocked him and because he had no where else to go and didn't exactly care too much, Scott followed them and ended up at the camp!

Martyn! Martyn's mortal parent was open about the demigod thing from the start, and at some point he just ran away because he, quote, "wanted to give his dad a piece of his mind", for not sticking around. And then he got there and didn't talk to Dionysus for like ever 👍

fWhip caused a pretty big explosion during a science fair. In the chaos, some monsters took the opportunity. He and Gem just started running and didn't stop. They ended up in camp without even realizing it! Gotta say, they were very confused that the thing that was chasing them suddenly couldn't chase them anymore.

Ren isn't a year-round camper! His mom sent him to camp, he got there pretty normally! He did think it was just a regular summer camp for a bit there. He hadn't been to a camp before that, to be fair.

While writing this, I did come up with a bit of a timeline? At least for a few of them!

Lizzie, Xornoth, Joey, and Shrub show up in the same year, a couple of months apart in Lizzie's case. Scott and Jimmy show up a year later, again a couple months apart. Ren, fWhip, and Gem show up the next year, Martyn shows up half a year later. Guqqie and Bill show up another year after Martyn does.

That's the most timeline I have rn and it is subject to change when I think about it more later!

I will eventually make a chart of showing up order/ages when that happened/general ages, but that'll have to be on paper fjfnfjsns
