Something that's really irritating me about the Off-White doll is that when you look at the concept art, she has 0 monster features aside from her green skin. Her monster type was such an after thought, and that's why its so poorly reflected in her design. Like she's supposed to be a fish (I think) where are her scales? Where are her fins? For such an expensive doll, I expected more than just a reused face mold, and a very easily recognizable one at that.
Her concept art really looks like a pale Casta Fierce. And honestly, I would probably like her more if that was the direction they took. Instead of being completely new, lazily designed characters, they could have done something like "Casta Fierce modelling for Off-Fright" or something, and added a witchy twist to the actual Off-White look. I mean, it would still be grossly overpriced, but I guarantee she'd sell better, especially considering Casta only ever got one doll. And it would've been SO PERFECT for an October Friday the 13th release.

Betrayal for the not-so-nice asks?
betrayal: Has your OC ever been betrayed by someone they thought they could trust? Has your OC ever betrayed someone who trusted them?
Oooh so i sort’ve answered that already but I’ll go a little into Panam’s “betrayal”. When they first meet, V thinks he’s found a sort of kin in a fellow ex-nomad, until he realizes that Panam’s ex status is more akin to a studio sitcom where a kid packs a suitcase and only makes it as far as down the street; still, he’s got this yearning for this idea of family, this things he’s never quite experienced, especially the way Panam can just go back home and it’s still home for her. The betrayal happens in a scene in my one-day-will-be-finished long fic where eventually the rest of the Aldecaldos (idk if anyone else has noticed, but other than Panam’s close band of friends, most of them… don’t really like V the majority of the quest line. Lots of snarky comments as you’re passing through camp. Add in his origin story, well. Honestly it makes sense they don’t trust him) vote to ban him entirely because they believe he may be a double agent similar to Nash with the uptick in raffen raids. (This is especially double-edged bc my V, when he finds the notes from Nash in the Wraith camp, decides to give it to her instead of tossing it like Johnny tells him to. She thanks him and trusts him more because of the gesture, but she obviously confides to her close family like Mitch and Carol about Nash’s betrayal and they don’t exactly hang out w V in the same capacity she does to not think he wouldn’t do the same.)

Okay, I am going to try SO SO HARD to actually keep up with One (1) podcast even without a commute so I'm listening to all of the newly-released Worlds Beyond Number things including the short preview, and I am quietly cackling over, underneath all the crosstalk of, "Games are fun and we're really fun!, Aabria just, "I'm not fun."

what happens to reader after annie goes into the crystal? does she join levi's squad? what's her experience during the war against marley? what's her reaction to reiner and bertholdt?
I IMMEDIATELY GOT SO EXCITED UPON READING THIS MESSAGE HEHE *cracks knuckles*
okay okay i'm going lay out a basic timeline from after the Female Titan arc all the way up until the timeskip!
homegirl is imprisoned for a good bit after what happens in Stohess - in an actual jail cell for a bit, but then she's allowed back into the barracks essentially on house arrest. i mentioned in the last chapter of please be that Hanji is the only person who Reader feels comfortable giving details to while interrogated. and since Hanji is a very busy bee constantly on the move, Reader ends up becoming a reluctant addition to their entourage.
during the Clash of the Titans arc reader just kind of trails behind whoever she's with at whatever given time, in handcuffs and being mopey. while shit is going down at Ulgard Castle, she's bonding with EMA while Hanji is investigating the wall titan.
y'all know how after the Survey Corps come in to kill all the titans, the only ones who will go within a 20ft radius of Ymir are Hanji (research purposes) and Hisu (gay purposes). i think that reader would be right there behind the two of them, if for no other reason to be a source of comfort for Historia. i mean, if anybody is going to understand the predicament of your lesbian lover turning out to be a Titan....? they are definitely friends.
in her emotional whirlwinds immediately following The Crystal, reader goes from being friends with Reiner and Bertholdt, to being extremely bitter and distrustful of them. back when they were in the training corp she was ABSOLUTELY aware that ABR were a trio with lots of history together, and knows Annie was close to both of them in a way she wasn't with anyone else. she picked up on the 'team' vibes they gave off, dysfunctional as it was, and she starts to resent them for not helping Annie and leaving her behind. she gets this idea into her head that the only way she can protect Annie is by ratting them out. she definitely tells anyone who will listen that she suspects them of being traitors/titans/whatever the fuckin theory is at that point in the storyline.
but ofc she's just as caught off-guard as everyone else is by the sudden reveal and the transformation on the walls. and anyway she's still cuffed throughout all of this so she really can't do anything besides being emotional support for the people who need it.
whenever everybody else goes to get eren back for that big battle, reader is not allowed to go. she goes to the village to confirm the titans = people theory. the only significant thing that would've happened on the battlefield significant to reader would be that her opinion on Armin goes sour after she learns about what he said in order to get an emotional reaction from Bert. tbh that opinion remains low up until TRNT timeline, bc reader feels that he uses Annie as a tool to get what he wants (which he does, multiple times, just saying). she's not a dick about it but she doesn't get over it until years have passed.
she visits the crystal every 2 or 3 months, basically giving Annie updates on her life and cleaning up the area. lmao i once had an idea that never got written that's literally just reader talking about her day while sweeping up cobwebs and dust from the floor, wiping down the crystal if it's dirty, etc.
i don't think she would join Levi squad - i see her being absorbed into Hanji squad by default after the tagging-along-in-handcuffs turns into genuine trust/reliability. reader is motivated to find out the answers to the million questions she was left with concerning Annie so she commits herself to that in the only way she can, which is being a good soldier.
emotionally she's very empty, and i see her becoming a lot closer with Historia from here on out. they cry about being abandoned together. i love the idea of them still being friends and hanging out even after Historia becomes the queen. i want to include Hisu in TRNT so bad but I'm struggling to come up with a good way to bring her into the story that feels organic.
after the battle to retake the wall + basement reveal, she learns of the Warrior Unit and how young Annie must've been forced to do awful things. i have a vague plan for writing a fic about this one-sided conversation - i'd probably make it a direct parallel to the crystal scene in Please Be part 3 with a similar continuous train of thought-style storytelling and speculation about what she must've gone through. just like, really sad stuff. genuinely heartbreaking shit.
as much as I hate that Moblit died and it agonizes me to think about, i like the idea of Reader stepping up to perform those same jobs once he's gone. the two of them get a lot closer over the timeskip too (i'm allowed to do this because hanji isn't around for TRNT and i need in my soul to include them in this story as much as possible). reader becomes less combat-oriented and more into of a research position and just helping carry out day-to-day Commander duties. essentially a desk job, almost like a secretary?
ideally i would like reader to be minimally involved in murdering innocent people, if possible. during the attack on Liberio i see her being the airship with Hanji and Onyankopon.
i haven't thought much about what would happen for her after that point, though. i have ideas for Annie interactions but not really for where reader sits in canon for that final stretch
if one of you bitches (affectionate) wants come talk to me about any of this in the DMs i am so open to that, because i had so much fun writing this post out! heheh
if you have any more questions about Annie's reader and her extremely depressing life pleeeeeaaaase, i would love to answer it! and i'll love you forever if you give me an outlet for this creativity-fueled infodump

So I did something I normally never do, I kept seeing a book being talked about and I picked it up at the store and bought it, From Blood and Ash by Jennifer Armentrout, and I’ve finished it…
And I don’t know how I feel? It’s got smut to be clear, so it’s an adult book, with classic romance tropes, but I don’t think the sleeve does the vibe of the romance by the end justice. Like I don’t know if this is really just not my bag of romance tropes, but by the end I felt incredibly icky about Hawke and the whole thing. And I loved him right until the reveal, which in hindsight I should’ve fucking saw coming really, but I was so in love with him as a character and love interest and then… alllllll of the last like hundred pages happened and now I feel like I need to be bleached, and to top it off it ends in ANOTHER trope as a cliffhanger and it’s that one? I’m trying not to spoil too much for anyone who hasnt read it and might want to but like I still don’t know how I feel about the foundational relationship between them and I don’t know if that’s gonna change? Like I was even into it, the twist, there was a way he couldn’t redeem himself and the romance could be redeemed in my eyes before the whole scene where she stabs him (and kinda rightfully so) and then he tries to rip her throat out and then they have sex.
Like it all feels like too much too fast. And also it makes me kinda wanna vomit a bit at the end. And I don’t think that’s the goal? Again maybe this just isn’t my gig but. Or maybe it’s a straight thing I don’t understand?

list of things that made me scream in pjo episode 3
Percy picking grover because he trusts him not to betray him!!! THEY ARE BEST FRIENDS OK
Luke still comes off as so likable and inconspicuous that whole convo he had with percy and the shoes i just
GROVER AND THE CONSENSUS SONG I CANT
annabeth staring at the different flavors of candy in the gas station and not being able to pick and just buying all of them. Thats the annabeth we deserve
ANNABETHS KNIFE APPEARANCE ALERT and a fury is IMMEDIATELY killed
uncle ferdinand foreshadowing……………
When annabeth and percy start arguing in the woods and grover tries to change the subject by talking about his uncle and they both completely ignore him. I LOVE GROVER SO MUCH
the bickering in this episode is ON POINT by the way
like the stuff theyre arguing about makes sense. Yes i would be concerned about those things too
ESPECIALLY since theres such a focus put on trust (esp after percy learns that someone is going to betray him) and percy and annabeth are arguing about stuff theyve lied or havent told each other about???? Sorry that might be skipping ahead a bit but GOD is that the good stuff
i love that they changed how the three of them ended up going into auntie em’s because before it was a little concerning that none of them figured out it was medusa. Plus having a fury outside just adds to the tension a perfect amount i think, because it really traps them in there
all the discussion about the gods and what medusa talks to percy about in the kitchen - YES MAKE ME HATE THEM!! All of this is adding up to lukes motivations making so much sense in the end
ALSO!! Them harkening back to sallys line in the first episode when she tells percy that not all heroes look like heroes and not all monsters look like monsters - they brought it back so perfectly. Percy wanting to trust medusa because of what his mom said, medusa calling Poseidon a monster, ALL OF IT is so good
When theyre down in the basement and grover puts on the shoes and then just fucking. Flies away and disappears into the darkness yelling a little. and annabeth and percy just kind of helplessly watch him go before being like - welp i guess that plans not working. That was peak comedy
them using annabeths hat on medusa and then using it to kill alecto THEY WERE SO SMART FOR THAT!!! Also percy just the invisible severed head was a hilarious concept to me
when percy suggests burying the hat in the ground with the hat on to make sure no one bad finds it and annabeth just!!! Agrees!!! And then grover has to be like no that hats important to her its a gift from her mother!!! And then percys like well we’ll find another solution then. That whole scene was good yes i liked that
also annabeth revealing that grover was her protector too and percy asks about it and grover just changes the subject and doesnt answer. He is the KING of avoidance
also grover finally interrupting annabeth and percy when they start fighting and giving his whole speech about getting along. That wouldve felt a little cheesy and preachy and out of place from anyone else but considering grover tried to get them to sing the consensus song a few hours earlier i fully believe that he would say that
I AM IMPERTINENT
Why the fuck wasnt there a lin manuel maranda jumpscare warning. I couldve used one of those
but actually all the jokes in this episode were so on point. Like percy calling drachmas chuckie cheese tokens. And him arguing about voting on the bus. Anyways
10/10 episode i will be rewatching like eight times before next tuesday.

I watched The Menu today and it was probably one of the best movies I have seen in a while.  There are many themes going on within the film, the philosophy of giving and taking, the tension between those who serve and those who are served, how something that was once considered a passion can be twisted into obsession, but one thing that I think really stuck out to me was the Female Chef.  I forget her name sadly (which considering the themes of the film, the alienation of the worker, is a touch ironic) but what strikes me is that the whole concept of the menu, the idea that everyone should die at the end, is her idea.
She starts her dish with a personal story about how she was abused and sexually harassed by The Chef himself, how after she refused his advances he refused to acknowledge her or even talk to her for weeks.  Many female chefs in the workplace could probably relate to this story, how men in positions of power exploit the women working underneath them, how even if they refuse it can still harm them and their careers.  She in her dish is able to get some revenge, by stabbing him in the thigh. The same thing that The Chef did to his father when he was attacking his mother.  When the male customers run off she goes and sits with the female customers who eat the actual meal.  When she breaks down crying none of the women give her any actual sympathy, they only tell her that the dish is delicious, that she is talented.  They only praise her for what she is able to provide, her craft, but fail to see her as a human.  When the critic tries to barter with her she reveals that, while she may not have created the entire menu, the idea that they all must die is her pitch.  That it must happen to tie everything together.
Despite the fact that the whole concept of The Menu being her idea, that the overall arching theme of death being her pitch, it’s still The Chef’s masterpiece, not hers.  The Chef at the end of the film calls himself a monster.  And he is one.  Not only has he lost any love for his work, he has abused and mistreated his fellow chefs, and now they have no love for their work either.  You can point to many reasons for this transformation, the treatment of workers, the ways that the industry props up abusers who never receive any consequences, how capitalism forces restaurants to get “better and better” but what that really means is get more expensive.  But ultimately The Chef is still a person, and ugly person who has done harm to those around him.  But he doesn’t want to, or really he doesn’t mean to cause harm.  It makes sense that for his final act, his last dish as a chef is a common cheap dessert that anyone can make, the smore.  And as he, the chefs, the customers, are about to die he says to them “I love you”.  And they say it right back.

More Penelope discourse
On the topic of female rage. Here’s something you may not want to hear: Penelope can be vicious. And I personally love her for it.
What I love about show Penelope is that she is a good person, she had a wonderful friendship with Eloise in s1 and trough most of s2, she cares about her family even when they are so dismissive of her, she likes dogs, she is is sweet and intuitive and funny and so terribly cute.
But she’s vicious.
And I’m sorry if that intimidates the crowd who likes their female characters to fit into the Mother, Witch, Harlot stereotype. But the truth is that women can be quite vicious creatures when we want to be, no matter how nice, no matter how good hearted, we are. If you push the wrong button we are willing to ruin lives, without remorse and without apology.
I find it really funny how so many people are intimidated by that aspect of show Penelope under the guise of ‘oh she’s not a good person’.  Oh please what intimidates that crowd is that show Penelope IS a good person, that she does have good intentions. That she still has the capacity to be the villain of someone else’s story when she’s 100% the protagonist of her own.
Daphne sort of glossed over the concept of how women are expected to fit themselves into a box to survive in this world where they are punished for everything, but Penelope is a better example of what happens when a woman in Daphne’s situation of ‘sit still, be smart, and never get angry’ situation, has power.
Power to hurt back, if someone hurts her. And I personally think this makes Penelope’s character more interesting. The concept that good women can be monsters and still be the absolute most wonderful people you will ever meet, that’s just something you don’t see in media a lot. It may feel contradicting, but it is appealing to me.
It’s usually more understandable if the character starts out as a bad guy and then does does something unexpectedly good. But the whole “ how can a person be so good and yet....do something bad?”. Well that, that is what I call good writing.
That’s an aspect of Penelope I look forward to seeing in S3. I want to see Penelope show that just as she is good, she can be vicious and unapologetic if you cross her.
 And that’s the tea.

Hello! How's your day? I've been reading a little about Monster! König and his human wife and I wondered something, Monster! Would König let his wife see his parents and visit them from time to time? Oh he just isolated her without caring??
It's a good question, but with a sad answer( Unfortunately, monster!Konig is a much meaner version of him. He loves you, yes, but he is your master first and foremost, and he has to maintain dominance. Allowing you to have contacts outside of him - especially human contacts -- will make him appear weak in front of his soldiers. Not a good face for a colonel in monster forces, especially since he proudly proclaims that you didn't have any life before him and your whole existence is just so you could be his pet and his precious dumb incubator. So when you're starting to cry and beg for him to allow you to meet your parents...not going to happen. Probably. Monsters like him don't have the concept of a family. He never saw his dad or his mom - he was tossed into the training as soon as he hatched, and being a shifter in the mostly human society was a tough existence even for someone so strong. Konig probably wouldn't even understand your affection for people who gave you life - and if he does understand, he would be too jealous to let you see them. You might have a bleak, tiny chance if you already know they are alive and where they live - Konig wouldn't spend his and his soldier's time searching for his wife's family unless she is dying of depression and begging for weeks straight, threatening to kill herself and the eggs inside of her, but he might be willing to give them a visit if you know where they are being kept/where they are hiding. Of course, it would mean revealing your parent's location to monsters...but at least they would be taken care of since none of Konig's soldiers would dare to make you cry. You better not think about the price you are going to pay with your body once your short visit is done. Konig will not let you see the sun for months straight, too caught up in his jealousy and desire to maintain his power over you.
