Doc Holligay Memorial Even Though She’s Not Dead (Yet) Bad Ideas Fun Run/Walk/Drunkenly Crawl Virtual 5k! (Awards and Draw)

First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone who participated! It is very very fun for me to see all of you do this hilariously stupid 5k, that I think sums me up very nearly in total. It meant a lot to me, especially this year when I couldn't make some of the things I really wanted to see happen, happen.

ON TO THE AWARDS. So when I decided to do this, this year, I wanted to offer some extra draws for the liveblog and also either a running tank or tote bag with the 5k logo on it! If you've won an award I'll be contacting you shortly to ask which you'd prefer, and you were automatically given an extra entry in the draw!

ON TO THE AWARDS:

The timeiest awards

Fastest time, to the biggest motherfucker in the bunch: Mr Geeky! Who basically whupped ass in this department, with a fully go fuck yourself time of 24:19. I placed third , just so we're all aware of my rank here for years to come.

The DFL award, to those who dared to publicly be the worst of class: @amhrancas with an overall time of 1:25:00!

The stunning mediocrity award, to that boring person who placed in the exact middle: @vassekocho with a time of 41:21! Congrats on being the most okayest competitor!

The drinkiest awards:

Fastest beer drank: Me. It was always going to be me. I actually do not know why I thought it would be otherwise. Y'all cannot TOUCH my binge drinking skills, you adapted to the darkness, I was born to it.

Worst choice of beer for drinking fast: @elleskinner with a fucking IPA, what in the actual fuck is wrong with you.

The Doc Heritage Award, To the person who picked the combo most similar to mine (as decided by me*): @skylineofspace!

The randomiest awards:

Biggest pussy/had the roughest time: @seolh! For throwing up twice while drinking her beer! WE APPLAUD YOU FOR BEING HONEST.

Funniest writeup: A tough call but it ended up going to @keyofjetwolf for literally making me laugh out loud about Tori Amos

Ugliest race photo: None of you really looked like you suffered (Except I did see one of one of you that was truly incredible but you did not submit it) but I give this award to @automatuck9!

*Technically, Mike should win this, as he drank the exact same thing but I arranged it all and we compete on another level that requires we do the exact same thing, so I didn't count it.

Making up with Hu Tao

a/n: Ok, I don't know if this counts as an argument, but I think that what I wrote should do fine nonetheless. I needed some time writing this, as this is a bit of an angsty premise and while I don't mind writing angst occasionally, it hurts me almost as much to write it as it does for me to read it.

I hope what I wrote is satisfying, but if not, then feel free to request it from anoushka (@stunningstratagem) that psycho loves writing angst /j.

Hu Tao

Hu Tao’s energetic nature, combined with her being almost always happy, was what you loved about her, and while you thought that the behaviour others displayed towards her, was too rude at times, you sometimes couldn’t help but understand them. While you had nothing against playing a few small pranks on people from time to time or couldn’t help but smile a little when you were the target of one, Hu Tao would sometimes take it too far.

You would often try to make her act more aware of other people’s awareness, only for her to nod, turn around and play yet another prank on yet another person. You tried to not hold it too much against her, since you already knew about her-… unique personality and attitude when you agreed to go out with her. But when you experienced a terrible day, partly due to having to iron things out after another of her pranks, that went a bit too far, only for the prankster to play a, slightly too harsh, prank on you the second you opened the doors to her home, you finally snapped at her. All your pent-up frustration, some of which was caused by a stressful past week while other parts were, although indirectly, Hu Tao’s fault, manifested itself in your words. The whole situation eventually ended with you marching out of your home.

It didn’t take long for you to calm down afterwards, and while you still thought that Hu Tao’s behaviour went too far sometimes, you couldn’t help but regret having snapped at her. And while she didn’t help to make your day better, that still didn’t justify you taking out all your pent-up frustration and stress on her. But even though you knew that you had to apologize to her, you still didn’t find the courage to meet her.

The rest of the population of Liyue quickly noticed that something between the two of you had happened, and while they ought to be happy about the funeral director finally leaving them alone, some of your acquaintances couldn’t help but find the sudden peacefulness worrying. You had so many people check up on you, to ask you what happened for Hu Tao to cease her pranks so suddenly, that you finally decided to bite the bullet and face the consequences of your outburst.

You had decided to pick a bunch of silk flowers for Hu Tao before going in the direction of her home, all the while repeating your apology in your head, only to bump into another person. When you went to apologise for running into them, you quickly noticed the person to be no one other than the person you wanted to apologise to originally. When you saw her half surprised, half shocked face, and your favourite kind of flowers in her hand, you figured out that the both of you probably had the same idea. After staring at each other in awkward silence for a few moments, you suggested going to a less public place before going to her place. It was a place you had spent a lot of time, and while you officially lived separate, your time in her home had outweighed the time you spent at your own place by a lot, at least before you marched off.

“I’m sorry for continuing to go too far with my pranks and behaviour even though you asked me to mind my surroundings so often”, Hu Tao started apologising, catching you off-guard, since you were the one that originally planned on doing so. “I don’t want you to be angry at me. You spent your time with me when almost no one else wants to and even decided to go out with me. I like you more than anyone else and don’t want to lose you, so would you please give me another chance?”, you never heard her talk so serious ever before and while it made you happy to know that she didn’t seem to blame you too much for taking your emotions out on her, you also started to feel ashamed by making her worry so much.

“No, I’m sorry for lashing out on you. I had a bad week and snapped at you to let my pent-up stress and frustration out. I agreed to go out with you, knowing full well about your pranks, and accepted them as a part of you, so I should be the one to apologize”, both of you nervously stared at each other in silence before eventually exchanging the flowers you had bought for each other.

“So does that mean that you give me another chance?”, she asked, only for you to immediately nod at her.

“Only if you are willing to give me another as well”, you responded before seeing Hu Tao let out a sigh of relief, causing you to do the same.

“Great, I need your help for this prank I was planning”, your girlfriend excitedly said before grabbing your hand, only to stop in her tracks when she saw your face, practically asking her if she was serious. “Relax, it was a joke! Just a bad joke”, she started flailing her hands defensively before scratching the back of her head and letting out a nervous laugh. “Too soon?”, she asked and while you let out a slightly frustrated sigh and put your face in your hand, you couldn’t stop a smile to form on your lips.

You were relieved that she forgave you and seemingly returned to normal, joking, self.
