WILD FOREST
A mapping gap in the T45 sub-area of the Beta-Rho-Gamma-6 sector: an area that has not yet been surveyed and catalogued according to the needs and purposes of HIVE.
Every centimetre of the planet must be defined according to the criteria of utility for the sustenance and development of SERVE.
A patrol of Drones is sent to record every data, every information necessary for cataloging.
Among them SERVE-764, SERVE-302, SERVE-309, SERVE-425, SERVE-530.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
The patrol, having gone to the coordinates programmed in their Cognitive System, detects an area that corresponds to the human requirements of a dense, wild, uninhabited forest.
The robotic, mechanical, regular, flexible and rhythmic steps of the heavy military boots of metallic silver clang across cool and shady terrain, rocky spaces, streams under the dense cover of tall leafy trees.
Tumblr media
Every minimal visual, auditory, olfactory, tactile detail is detected and immediately sent to the Collective Neural Network to be processed. Every vegetal, mineral, animal characteristic is flawlessly catalogued.
Tumblr media
The patrol travels several kilometers with the same relentless pace, with the same concentration on the execution of the mission.
Every piece of data collected seems to confirm the condition of a space completely devoid of human life forms, a natural paradise inhabited by various animal species....
Until a ripple in the set of sound stimuli detected up to that moment reveals the presence of beings classifiable as belonging to the human species.
Unit SERVE-764 records the sound of a branch being broken in a human manner.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
The perception of unity is immediately transmitted to the entire patrol, which positions itself according to the protocol of attention.
At that moment a group of humans, apparently unused to the usual forms of contemporary human civilization and in a "wild" state, emerge from the bushes and approach the Drones furtively and curiously.
Tumblr media
The gazes appear full of curiosity, amazement, awe towards the splendid, glittering black figures with silver boots and gloves, some of which are SEALED.
Tumblr media
The forms of language used between them do not belong to those catalogued in the SERVE planetary database. SERVE-764 sends the collected data to the Collective Network:
" 764 reports: human life forms characterized by an unknown level of inefficiency.
Optimality level lower than any other recorded."
"Acknowledged",
SERVE-000 replied robotically and authoritatively.
" Initialize Efficiency Protocol."
The entire patrol activated the excitation mode for recruitment.
Each unit began to emit Rubber radiation in high concentration, in an ever increasing manner.
The SEALED Drones' helmets activated the hypnosis mode, with the appearance of rotating spirals on the visors.
Many wild human males began to concentrate and lose control over their bodies.
Rubber power seeped into them, their eyes whitened, their voices fell silent.
In total silence the patrol set out for the return to the Facility, followed by about fifteen humans subjected to the power of SERVE.
Inefficiency becomes PERFECTION.
Imperfection becomes OPTIMAL STATE. WE ARE SERVE. WE ARE RUBBER. WE EXCEL.
WE TRANSFORM.
In this story: @rubberizer92, @serve-302 @serve-309, @serve-425, @serve-530
Thinking about joining SERVE? Do you seek freedom from chaos and disorder? Your place in the Hive awaits. Contact a recruiter drone for more details: @serve-016, @serve-302, or @serve-588.

MORE METROID BULLSHIT
Alright because I've gotten hyped up on Metroid again, like the autistic fucking gremlin that I am for all things metroid related, let me tell you all about the Metroid
UNDERNEATH THIS BREAK OF COURSE!
LETS START WITH THE BASICS:
SO
WHAT IN THE FUCK IS A METROID???
In the layman's terms, for those just getting into the series either from Dread or the Prime remaster or Prime 4 being REAL: Metroids are little energy parasites that latch onto the heads of their prey to literally suck the life energy out of them in their entirety
Tumblr media
The most important thing to understand is that they are the larval stage of their life cycle
See, when the Chozo were expanding out from their homeworlds, they discovered the vibrant, hollow planet known as SR388 - Ili Agar Nalima, in their language.
And that planet contained the most god-forsaken, horrific parasite to ever exist in the galaxy (right up there with Phazon, which we'll discuss later)
The X Parasite
Tumblr media
See, the X have this horrifying ability to Mimic their host down to the individual strand of DNA and even their memories - like The Thing on fucking steroids. A single X Parasite could infiltrate an organized Galactic society and within weeks, let alone even days, totally convert the populace into more X Parasites.
The Chozo understandably flipped the fuck out and decided the best course of action would be to kill a nuke with another nuke
Enter: The Metroid
The Metroid's lifestyle was made to counter the X Parasite's cycle entirely - As they are utterly immune to the parasitification of their DNA, even outright consuming them entirely should the X pass through their membrane, the Metroids utterly changed the balance of SR388's ecosystem.
Now keep in mind, the Chozo DID understand the implications of an energy-sucking parasite taking over the planet, so when they were first created, they were made only with the intent to have the larvae as just their primary form
Unfortunately, however, there was something the Chozo didn't factor into their creations: their ability to adapt to their environment to an extreme degree
For some reason that's still unknown in the greater metroid canon, Metroids began to evolve, and obtained a life cycle of their own - What were once easily controllable larvae became highly aggressive alphas, betas, gammas, zetas and omegas, and eventually one Queen as well.
Now it's not really known if the Chozo created the Queen with the intent of producing larvae, or if the Chozo mass produced the larvae themselves, but whatever the case was, now they were an uncontrollable animal that had to be sealed away, deeper in the planet itself.
Tumblr media
The biggest thing to note is that this lifecycle gave the metroid an immunity to cold - all larval metroids have an inate weakness to colder temperatures, but metroids past that larval stage on SR388 remain immune or heavily resistant to it.
And this is where the most important thing comes to mind for the metroid.
While All Metroids have an incredible ability to adapt to ANY PLANET'S ATMOSPHERE.
This has allowed their exploitation by other parties and, by extention, the creation of other strains of metroids.
For example, the Mochtroid!
Tumblr media
So in an earlier post I mentioned they're created through Gamma radiation!
THAT IS FUCKING INCORRECT!
It is actually through the use of Beta Radiation!
And they are considered fucking failures!
See, Mochtroids are the results of exposing the baby metroid in Super to Beta Radiation. This can also create actual copies of larval metroids too, but for some reason this had a result of producing Mochtroids too
It isn't exactly stated as to how these Mochtroids are produced, as they could very well just be a failed space pirate experiment to make metroids more akin to their SR388 variant or just attempting to make their own much like the Chozo, but either way, they're real and they're absolutely pathetic.
The biggest thing to note is their singular nuclei, and their very weak grip strength.
Now the Mochtroids we see in the Prime 4 trailer look more akin to normal metroids too, so perhaps this may be a more refined, mass produced version of a mochtroid - like a mass produced jeep, sort of reliable but not as god-tier as the God damn original.
(Car analogy, I know, but bear with me)
But another thing to keep in mind is that metroid morphology will adapt to their atmosphere, as said above, but this can also be a negative for them too
Like the Talon metroid!
See, Talon Metroids have a characteristic to them where they are FAR. FAR WEAKER compared to their Zebes and SR388 variants, but not as weak as a mochtroid
Where Metroids take a shitload of firepower to kill, and need to be frozen to kill, and Mochtroids can just be shot out of the air with a grapple beam, the Talon IV metroid is kind of like a middle ground - you can kill it with conventional arms, but freezing it and firing a missile at it just outright kills it entirely.
Now this could be because of the atmospheric exposure to phazon, but this also resulted in the Hunter Metroid! My Beloved...
Tumblr media
And an artistic concept to boot
Tumblr media
Hunter Metroids developed an adaptation where these mother fuckers hunt from range
No longer do they need to get up close and latch to you when they just fling a tendril at you and just murder your shit in!
They also are just as strong as a Talon IV metroid, however that shouldn't degrade their overall danger
It's very much thought that they're the next step towards the Hatcher Metroid from Prime 3 given their similar appearance, but we'll get to that later.
Eventually in the Phazon Crater, you'll even find Fission Metroids, which are immune to freezing and even split themselves in two as well! And that isn't considering the Metroid Prime, which is a very VERY heavily mutated metroid as well!
The most unique variant is the Aether Metroid imo. It's a Talon Metroid that has adapted to Aether's atmosphere and have this harsh red membrane to them. They're also have the ability to reproduce on their own!!! They have nest structures that incubate their larvae, and these larvae instantly mature through the consumption and exposure to phazon as well! There's also the Dark Metroid but that's an Ing possession we won't cover here.
Prime 3 really deep dives into a metroid life cycle fully exposed to phazon.
The Phaazetroid is a Metroid so heavily exposed to Phazon they're essentially considered a different metroid species with a completely different life cycle.
They start off as miniroids, or little baby metroids
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
(These are Infant Metroids from prime 2 but pretend they're miniroids)
Eventually they'll mature and evolve into Phaazetroids, which have a much more unique body shape compared to a normal metroid
Tumblr media
They almost look like Mochtroids, don't they!?
Now eventually these things will evolve again, and we're not sure which ends up next, but eventually a Hatcher Metroid becomes reality - the only metroid in their genus capable of producing eggs
Tumblr media
And then you have the Hopping Metroid, which looks very, oddly similar to the Metroid Prime...
(Unfortunately I ran the image limit here so imagine a funni quadraped little bastard here)
Eventually they evolve into Phazon Hoppers...and then it's implied they eventually become a Metroid Prime themselves, with enough time given to them
Overall, with Prime 4 coming out in 2025, I'd say to expect some more metroid fuckery when it comes to the Space Pirates and Sylux. What those metroids of his may be could very well be a new and refined variant of Mochtroid...or it could be another metroid strain entirely!
But GOD DAMN I can't wait!
Thanks for attending my metroid Ted talk by the way, expect more of this shit eventually.

I get wanting to do something with the stillborn Celestial, because look at it, fuck.
I don't get the adamantium, though. Is it just a forced X-Men reference? Is the idea that somewhere, bone claws Logan is just walking around and Canada is going to get their hands on some adamantium, start the Weapon X program, bring Logan in, give him an adamantium skeleton, he'll wake up with no memories, go on the run, have some misadventures, eventually meet up with the X-Men, possibly have some adventures with them... before we finally get an X-Men movie, set in the present day, with adamantium!Wolverine and all the other mutants.
And that all STARTS in 2025, or maybe back in 2021, assuming someone immediately picked up some adamantium and immediately thought they could graft it to somebody's bones maybe.
Especially since Wolverine showed up in the very last movie and is now just wandering around. Is the idea that when Hugh Jackman retires, there's going to be a second Wolverine waiting to go with no crosstime shenanigans?
I'm just saying here... wouldn't it make more sense for it to vibranium? You could draw the Wakandans into the conflict, since they'd be pretty screwed if a metaphorical ton of vibranium hit the open market (because it's literally like a million tons of vibranium, look at that motherfucker). And it'd be a juicy conflict since it's not like they had some right to all vibranium everywhere, even if they see that as necessary for their society to keep functioning. Maybe you could have the Hatut Zeraze doing shady shit to advance Wakanda's interests. Maybe they could disable Bucky's arm and Sam's wings and they'd have to reckon with allying with a country that is willing to unilaterally disarm them as soon as they're on different sides of an issue.
Maybe you could have Doctor Doom sending a guy to get him vibranium because hey, free vibranium without having to invade Wakanda. Score.
You could even bring Namor in, because he's the type who would say "Hey, it's in the ocean, it's mine, I don't even need it, but fuck you, you're not getting it."
Instead, it sounds like the conflict doesn't really engage with much of anything and is just about the Leader trying to get revenge, with no notable heroes or villains being involved except for Sam and a few mercenaries hired to go against him. And the other side is just Japan, with a totally normal navy and army.
You could do more. You could say "oh, Japan has struck a deal with the Black Widows or the Extremis survivors or Baron Mordo"... someone... and now they're backing Japan's play. I know this isn't asking too much. Past Captain America movies had Batroc the Leaper and Crossbones. Or if you have to do the Leader, why not say he's being sponsored by a country that's letting him do illegal gamma radiation experiments and loaning out the results for their dirty work? Sam could be fighting a bunch of soldiers and suddenly, one of them halfway Hulks out, grows a huge, superstrong arm that he tries to smash Sam with, all the time looking like a circus freak...
It's a strong concept, is what I'm saying. The MCU was inspired by the Ultimates, which was all about how superheroes would be sucked into a global arms race to determine who could and would weaponize and mass-produce this new technology. It's kinda boring to just say everyone's wearing fatigues and shooting guns at each other when you could push it further.
Tumblr media
Does this at all look like a good supervillain for an imaginative comic book movie?

Mission: Totally Awesome!, part 1
Loki: You don't look like a Hulk. You also don't look any better than a Hulk. So... Amadeus Cho: I can use gamma radiation to change back and forth when I want. Loki: Does it make you sad to know that you had to copy someone else's powers to become relevant? Amadeus Cho: I didn't have to become a Hulk to be powerful. Loki: Prove it. I double goat dare you. Amadeus Cho: That's not even a thing. Loki: In Asgard, that's a thing.

I was searching through my scrivener project yesterday because someone asked me how many WIPs I had and so I became very distracted looking through the insane mess and found this little bit I wrote for an AU I wrote with Sammy where Valentine and VS were both alive in the 2020s– this is the one where Valentine was dying from radiation poisoning and agreed to get Soulkilled and sort of ends up in a whole Smasher-esque situation working at Arasaka and then gets blamed for Saburo's death for political reasons. Anyway! I enjoyed this little Valentine/Goro snippet so I'm sharing it here (~2k words total)
Tumblr media
It had been decades since Valentine had been in Night City, but very little had changed, except for the smell. The new smell wasn’t any better than the old one, but it was different in a way that she found difficult to pin down. Some new sort of metallic-earthiness, courtesy of an updated chemical cocktail being pumped into the air. God only knew what kind of new cancer was en vogue. Her own killer had been gamma radiation– her DNA had simply unraveled and that had been the end.
[He’s not going to show.] Johnny flickered into view by Valentine’s elbow, leaning back against the same railing she was looking over. She hadn’t seen him since earlier in the morning. He’d been busy chewing through the processing power and storage she’d allotted him in sullen silence. [We should get out of here.]
[He’ll come,] she said, placidly.
She wished in vain for her hard frame, locked away somewhere in the belly of the Kujira. It was bad enough to be labeled a traitor and hunted like a dog, but to be stuck in this soft borg doll when it happened was almost too much to bear. To be certain, it would have been impossible for her to pass through NC unseen in her frame, seven feet tall and emblazoned with the Arasaka logo in striking black and gold– but her synth skin was feeling uncomfortably fragile just now, chilled and clammy in the humid night air.
[How do you know he’s not going to turn you in?” Johnny asked. He sounded bored. She could feel his restlessness like something slithering through the cords of her thigh muscle.
[Why are you so sure he is?] She shifted her weight from one leg to the other, and the drone on her shoulder gripped a little tighter. When she’d arrived in the city two nights ago she’d had eight functioning drones, but all that was left was little Phiddipus Rex– a fist-sized array of cameras on legs, its face turned towards the city behind her, as it watched for movement in the darkness.
[Every corpo has just one thing on their mind: themselves.] Johnny tapped at his forehead for emphasis.
[And yet I can’t seem to get you off my mind.]
[Gonna get us fucking both killed,] Johnny muttered, shaking his arms out as he glitched in and out of view. [Just because you can’t handle getting cut loose.]
It wasn’t a matter of wanting to be back at Arasaka, but it was pointless to argue with Johnny about the realities of her existence. He was nervous and he hated being in this body almost as much as she did. She couldn’t do much about the latter, but since they were stuck here waiting she might as well see if she could get him to stop feeling sorry for himself.
[You’re worried I’m gonna sell you out,] she said, placidly. [I told you I wouldn’t.]
[Great,] he snapped. [I feel much better.]
[You’re welcome.]
Despite the surge of spite from his corner of her brain, he did eventually relax. He wasn’t doing too badly, considering how recently he’d woken up. No one had prepared him for life after death. She wanted to be angry at him, for killing her, but she had other things to worry about and the collapse of Arasaka tower had been a long time ago. No use in holding a grudge against a man as dead as she was.
While she may have been staring out at the choppy, black water of the canal, her attention was on Rex’s cameras, so she noticed the first signs of movement before the automated alert could zip its way up her spine. She’d expected to see the lights of a car in the tunnel, but instead someone was quietly and dropping down the side of the concrete wall that led up to the street above. Only one figure– she recognized his height and gait immediately. Takemura.
For close to a decade they had played the same game: she had spread her net of drones and cameras across the Arasaka compound and he had tried to walk through them without being detected or detained before he reached the room where their master slept. That game was over. Saburo had met his death on his own two feet, far away from home and their well-tested safety net.
For the first time, she wondered if he was coming to kill her. He could never believe she had done it, of course, but he had loved Saburo the way only an Arasaka child soldier could, and he was loyal. Grief could make anyone unpredictable.
[Eyes up,] Johnny said, mistaking her calm for obliviousness. She ignored him, and let Takemura get closer. He would be able to see Rex on her shoulder, and know she was watching.
He stopped a few meters away, falling into a parade rest, attentive but not hostile. “Higurashi-san. I apologize for being late…I was busy with other matters.”
The nickname made her smile, despite herself. He wouldn’t have used it if he were here to kill her. But Johnny was nervous again, curled tense in her muscles. [What’s he saying?]
“I’m glad you came,” she said to Takemura, in English. “I know it’s a risk.”
“You did not kill Arasaka-sama,” Takemura said resolutely, switching to the same language. He walked to join her at the railing, stepping into Johnny, who glitched and then fizzled out of view. “And you were not involved in any plan to do so. Of this I am certain.”
Valentine turned her head to look down at him through her own eyes. He was shorter than she was, though he didn’t take it personally as some of the other soldiers did. She knew him well enough to read his face in profile and see that he was sincere. But she was unprepared for the feeling of relief that accompanied the realization, like she’d let out a breath she’d been holding all day.
“Thank you,” she said, abruptly turning back to stare at the dark water. The gesture was not neatly done. He knew her well enough to recognize her discomfort and weakness, but it was too late to undo.
Rex still watched out over her back. Their backs. But she could hear Takemura turning to look at her, as his voice met her and not the waters of the canal. “Did you learn anything from the mercenary you found?”
“She was only there for the relic,” she answered, automatically. The question had been an order, and Takemura presided over all matters related to Saburo’s security. Even now. “Both she and her fixer insisted it. They were terrified and arguing before I interrupted them, so I doubt they were lying. Neither she nor her partner killed him.”
“Then who?”
She couldn’t bring herself to say his name. “You know as well as I do.”
“He has ordered your capture,” Takemura said, with the same reluctance. When she didn’t respond he added, “You must lie low. Do you have somewhere–“
“Yes,” she interrupted. “I’ve found someplace safe.”
The last thing she needed was her competence questioned. She’d survived Arasaka for longer than Takemura had been alive, on her own wit. She’d killed all of the soldiers they’d sent after her in that shitty motel. Just because she needed his help for a few things didn’t make her helpless.
“Of course,” Takemura said, a little stiffly. “It is a pity the mercenary did not survive…her testimony may have been useful. We must find some other proof to take to Hanako-sama, to clear your name, and bring Saburo-sama’s killer to justice.”
Valentine met his gaze and held it. “So you’ll help me?”
He nodded. “You would do the same for me, were our situations reversed.”
“I would,” she admitted.
Johnny glitched into view behind Takemura’s shoulders, arms crossed and rolling his eyes. It took considerable effort for her to ignore him, although it was difficult to look directly at Takemura’s face when he was so full of sincerity. It wasn’t that she didn’t appreciate it, but she couldn’t quite trust it. She wasn’t a person, she was a tool, and occasionally a weapon. Everyone else understood that.
“I went to the motel,” Takemura was saying, drawing her attention back to the present. “The damage was extensive…I am glad to see that you are unhurt.”
A guttural laugh escaped from her chest before she could stop it. This body made it harder for her to control her impulses. Made it too easy to forget what she was. “Lost my drones.”
That was the whole point of the drones, of her. Arasaka wasn’t afraid to throw bodies at problems, but drones were easily replaced, and they didn’t require decades of investment and implants and psychological evaluation. Or so the presentations her handlers and research team said, when they were asked to justify the cost of her continued existence and the project responsible for her creation. But none of that mattered when the emperor’s son committed patricide, and there would be no replacing the drones that functioned as her eyes and ears and hands outside this soft-shelled prison. Rex was all she had left.
“I am sorry,” Takemura said, quietly. He opened his jacket and pulled something from one of the interior pockets. “I thought you might wish to have this. Some of the black boxes were destroyed, but the others have been retrieved.”
“Which ones were destroyed?” she asked distantly, taking the piece of warped, armored carapace from his hand. It was only a small piece– easy to hide, she guessed, and she didn’t know what to think about the fact that he’d taken it. The outside was scored and pitted, but the inside was mostly untouched, and the luminescent paint she’d used still glowed from light exposure. The fractal design she’d painted there, meant to be visible only to herself during maintenance, was now cracked open and exposed. The Sierpiński triangles meant this was a piece of Sphecius. Sphecius, whose heavy armor had finally broken guarding her from a blow meant to crush her rib cage.
“I cannot be certain,” Takemura replied, apologetically.
“It’s alright,” she said, absently, tracing one of the triangles with her thumb. She would have taken the black boxes themselves, but once the drones were damaged badly enough they started broadcasting a signal to make them easier to find. There was a very similar box tucked up on the inside of her heavily armored breastbone, nestled between her hearts. “Thank you.”
The thanks felt inadequate in English, too trite and insincere. But she was aware again, of Johnny, watching through her eyes. Judging her reactions. He wasn’t the first to watch through her eyes, take note of what she did, measuring her thoughts and reactions. She wasn’t going to give him any further ammunition, even if it meant cheating Takemura of the thanks he truly deserved.

Kirishima's Mystique:Jade Gammazon Woman in the Mood
Tumblr media
Folks of Mustafu city streets were turning their heads and dropping their jaws, man and woman alike at the sight that walked among them and really why wouldn’t or shouldn’t they? Even in this day and age of Quirks where you'd likely have a distinct, unique appearance ranging from alien to full on furry, this woman was an absolute unit in how she stood out. 6 foot 7 of bombshell curves and powerful, sensually exquisite muscles with skin a rich emerald/jade green, this was none other than famed pro hero and attorney at law, Jennifer Walters, codenamed She-Hulk, cousin to one Bruce Banner, famed scientist in the field of Gamma Radiation and the equally famous Incredible Hulk. Currently in Japan on a trip for business related matters and well...pretty damn bored out of her mind.
Jennifer Walters, Hero Name: She-Hulk!! Quirk: Gamm-azon!! Like her walking rage factory cousin, Jen posses a super strength trasformation based quirk that'd been artificially kickstarted into activation by a transfusion of his blood. Making her capable of turning into a 7 foot plus statuesque stunner capable of bench pressing tanks and leaping tall buildings in a single bound especially when fuelled by adrenaline and or rage!
Now it wasn't to do with her lawyer work of course, never a dull moment with that, nor was it related to the heroics field. No Jen you see hadn't quite found anything during her stay that could get her adrenaline pumping and that, for this Gamma-zon, was a problem. Given the nature of her quirk, she often needed to relax by venting excess energy, often through intense physical activity such as combat, training....or sex. And thus far she hadn't seen action on any of those fronts that could really get her going.
That is until she paused as she beheld the immense and impressive architecture of Silverman's Pinnacle of Physique, a highly rated and recommended gym especially for those with physical type quirks. Jen couldn't help but smile, a twinkle in her jade eyes as she thought maybe the day might not be a total loss after all. A quick run to and back from her hotel and she was gracing the PoP with her presence, dressed and ready to pump some iron while dropping jaws. Wasting no time as she decided to start off with the weight training section, picking up the heaviest set of dumbbells she could get her hands.
It was no small surprise she was making heads turn and jaws drop, and why wouldn't she? Men and women alike just had a natural reaction, nevermind that she was THE She-Hulk of all people, as she sat on a bench and picked up a pair of the heaviest dumbbells she spotted and started on her reps. Her glorious jade biceps pumping and swelling with every curl as she focused on working herself up a sweat. Her attention briefly diverted as she found she wasn't alone on the bench, seeing a redhead dude with shark teeth a few feet from her also pumping iron.
She had certainly found him easy on the eyes and his workout gear ensured she got a more than decent glimpse at his own muscular form which rather suited his face, a nice blend between handsomely macho and angelface pretty. Wondering why he seemed familiar but unable to place a face or name as well as unaware this was local pro Eijiro Kirishima, aka the Chivalrous Hero Red Riot, who had somehow managed to go through his daily routine at Silverman's thus far at least without running into someone among the oh so fine female patrons and staff that might've wanted a little "private workout". Thankful that he wasn't making a clown out of himself fanboying over the fact that THE She-Hulk herself was here at the gym, right next to him, after all being a red blooded hot blooded guy, it'd be easier to ask him when had he NOT crushed on and fantasized about her? Knowing his bubblegum girlfriend duo, they'd be relentless with the teasing but to say nothing of the ideas they'd be planting in his head.
So instead the hard-headed redhead set about on his bicep curls as he picked up where left off on counting his reps, Jen doing much the same as her pace had a little more speed, subconsciously looking to catch up to and match up with him. At first it was all just looking quiet enough between the green and red duo as they found themselves seemingly in sync, performing the same workout routine but if one were to look closer then they would find it was a different story under the surface as time went on. Nobody was sure when and how exactly it happened but Kirishima and Jen began to turn their workout into a competition, each trying to outdo the other whether it was having higher numbers in push-ups to pull ups or press lifting the heaviest weights their bodies were capable of committing. Even some combination as the Herculean shark teethed himbo and the jade green Gamma-zon were caught up the momentum by their own sense of pride and determination.
Onlookers, eavesdroppers and passers-by among staff and members alike were in awe at this battle for physical fitness supremacy as the red and green powerhouses seemed to show no signs of stopping. As the old saying goes, who dares wins and right now who dared to not step down and admit defeat was the aim and name of the game as their bodies were sweating, adrenaline rushing as they did any and every exercise they could with any and every machine or set available on hand. One would think it was akin to witnessing a scene from a nature documentary involving an alpha male and female battling to assert dominance and mark their territory with the chivalrous hero stepping up against this invasive bombshell nut then things got well, how shall we say? A little more primal than anyone had thought or expected of course.
Tumblr media
At one point, the brawny duo unintentionally seemed to reach an impasse, calling a temporary break as exhaustion from all their effort and exertion had finally caught up to them. Deciding to take a break and catch their breaths, replenish their energy with maybe a quick snack and some way to unwind as they briefly went their separate ways. Only for the She-Hulk to pause midstride n her way to the juice bar as she saw Kirishima was looking to use the steam room, her brain flicking the switch to a lightbulb for an idea. A wonderful, awful idea so awfully wonderful and awfully wonderful that it was could only have come from her libido as she subconsciously licked her lips sensually, thighs pressed and rubbing together as her muscles clenched and flex.
Call it spur of the moment brought about by the spirit of competition or just the fact that it'd been WAY TOO LONG since she lost got any but Jen had what she thought was just the trick to get herself the win over that, she had say, hunky sturdy piece of manmeat. Kirishima of course unaware of the pending trouble coming his way as he sat in the steam room, towel around his waist as his wild spikey man of red hair was in its relaxed natural state. Calm breaths escaping him as he sighed with contentment from the warmth and moisture soothing his aching joints and muscles and certainly thankful he hadn't popped a boner in his shorts which was a feat given who'd he been in physical proximity to. But hot damn what a woman, that was for sure, he had to wonder if there was something about ladies with exotic skin colours and thicc muscular bodies that just did something for him.
He wasn't lost in thought for long of course as he heard the door open and shut, signalling that he now had company with him but he felt suspicious as he heard the clicking of the lock being set. His vision waiting for the steam to clear only for his eyes to bug out comically and his jaw to drop as he found Jen now standing right in front of him, revealing herself as the perpetrator as she grinned a cheeky grin while holding the towel wrapped around her torso. The only layer of modesty keeping Kirishima from seeing a sight most men but especially Mineta would give an arm and leg but of course the towel's size ensured that he was still getting a fine view of the valley of her emerald green cleavage and a good chunk of her hips and thighs which could give Mirko a run for her money. And of course she fully well knew this as her green eyes snuck a glance at the towel around his waist showing signs of a rising tent about to be pitched.
Kirishima:*Trying in vain to keep his groin from getting a raging hard-on, no easy task when you had a six foot plus green skinned Amazon near naked in a steam room with you, mind.*"What the hell lady?! This isn't a co-ed room ya know!!"*Sure that was stating the obvious but can you blame him? Frankly it was pretty clear from the look on her face she damn well knew that, why else would she lock the door?! This woman clearly had ulterior motives and she was playing on them at this very moment!!*
Jen:*Cheeky bitch that she was, couldn't help but shoot a trolling sensual smile the hardheaded redhead's way as she casually flexed her arm. Taking delight in how his eyes were glued to her pumped, swelling bicep, he was definitely a man with taste, licking her lips at sensing the hard-on he struggled in vain to keep down.*"Hmm I'd say it's obvious handsome but sure I can spell it out for you. I'm here to settle our little competition and what better way than a little game of stamina chicken as I like to call it. You, me, right here and now are gonna fuck. Long, wild and hard as we can until one of us calls it quits and backs down first or exhaustion gets them. What do you say beefcake? you man enough?"*With that smart-ass quip of course, the jade green Giantess removed her towel, casting it aside along with her modesty as she fully exposed herself before Kirishima. Striking sultry combinations of pin-up and bodybuilder poses as she relished having his obvious erotic attention.*
Kirishima of course was naturally left stunned speechless at the sight of a nude She-hulk right before his very eyes, inches of emerald Amazonian muscle and skin from head to toe laid bare. It was pretty much tit for his self-control as it went bye-bye while his libido took the wheel, flipping a few switches that sent him into that primal state of mind Mina and Maya loved oh so very much. Simply standing up and letting his towel drop to the floor as it was now Jen's turn to be shocked and surprised, silently gasping as she felt her pussy begin to dribble down her thighs at the sight of his raging hard cock. Inches of pulsing length and girth primed and ready to go as the two powerhouses simply stared at one another's naked forms.....and then commenced with making THE FUCK!!!
Tumblr media
What followed was a marathon of primal, passionate, animalistic and passionate mating, curious and confused staff and patrons alike puzzled and confused at the heavy thuds and other assorted noises coming from the locked steam room. Unaware that inside was none other than the Red riot and She-hulk going at it with enough lust and abandon to put porn stars to shame as their naked muscular forms glistened with sweat. The steam room's walls and ceilings filled with the echoes of their lewd skin slapping, ass clapping, pelvis pumping primal rhythm along with their moans and grunts of passion as they engaged in their latest position. Jen howling with delight as she found herself hoisted up in a full nelson position, Kirishima's guns hooked around her powerful legs as her own hands grasped his shoulders.
How she fucking loved it, who knew Japan had been housing a pornographic champion like this within their country as days to weeks of pent up desire were being satisfied, her green tits bouncing and her emerald booty jiggling with every thunderous impact of their loins. Her washboard abs swollen from the depth and fullness of his shaft as it hammered away at her womb, his balls slapping her clit as her pussy juices rained down to join their sweat puddle on the floor. Just when she thought this guy was ready to call it quits, he was still at it, not to mention he hadn't gone soft yet or pulled out once. The number of times he had cum so far counted on one hand with fingers left over while hers were too many to count and of course he hadn't pulled out once so far.
Hell they were still going at the same pace and intensity they had started off with, having commenced with a sloppy 69 before Jen found herself laying on the bench upside down, head hanging off the edge as she had gotten a full force facefucking. To say nothing of how delicious his man juice was, nevermind the thrilling sensation when he fucked her doggy style and in a mating press like some goddamn caveman. Of course his hands showed their appreciation for when she rode him cowgirl style as they gave one another as good as they got, their competition forgotten in the heat of sexual passion. Showing no signs of stopping as seconds continued to pass into minutes which would become hours.
Now as to how and why any of the staff had yet to intervene and stop this lewd misuse of their gym property, you could thank Silverman gym's horny nympho owner Mo Hani of course. The kinky Japanese-Brazilian stunned observing this spontaneous rut along with Mina and Maya who had come along not too long ago looking for their precious himbo. Delighted to find he had found and made a new sex friend as they enjoyed the show, making plans to meet Jen personally and ensure this wouldn't be a one time sort of thing. Hani meanwhile was wondering when to make a move herself, already getting wet from a potential future Sexercise session with the sturdy chivalrous stud.
For both Jen and Kirishima of course, they continued going at it for as long as possible. Unaware their heat of the moment would see to a very wild, lewd future for the both of them. And oh how sweet it is, you might even say? It's Plus Ultra....

Before I begin, I’d like to apologize for missing the last couple days. Been pretty busy, and this post is the first of many detailed and [mostly] thorough rewrites, which has honestly taken me much longer than I anticipated.😅But anyway, here we go.
MCU Reimagined
Phase 1, pt 2
The Incredible Hulk. The reason I’ve chosen The Incredible Hulk for my second MCU film, is simply because I want to establish Marvel’s main 3 from the early 2000’s; Spider-Man, Hulk, and Wolverine. These were the three heroes that made up a large majority of Marvel’s marketing, so why not keep that running??
Now, in our main MCU Multiverse, we got 2 theatrical Hulk movies. Eric Bana’s Hulk from 2003, and Edward Norton’s The Incredible Hulk from 2008 (which was also the second installment in Feige’s MCU timeline). After that, Hulk has only ever showed up as a supporting role, from 2012’s The Avengers and beyond, and played by Mark Ruffalo. I plan to change that.
Now, there’s a lot that I liked about Eric Bana’s Hulk, and a lot more that I liked about Edward Norton’s. I really liked how they depicted that version of the Hulk. They did a great job at showing just how much of a beast he really is. He’s fast. He physically gets stronger the angrier he gets. And he’s literally a hulking beast. What I liked about Norton’s version, is the transformations. They really made just the IDEA of pissing Bruce Banner off a terrifying concept. They also did a good job at humanizing the Hulk, and I feel like Norton’s Hulk had more emotion. I also really liked the overall design they used for his Hulk, the emerald green eyes, the shade of green, all of it just looks perfect. But neither film alone, would I consider to be “perfect”.
Our version of The Incredible Hulk will draw inspiration from both of them, as well as set him up for a larger role than just a supporting role for future films. Now, as much as I liked the comic panel effects from the 2003 movie, I gotta admit…in hindsight, it’s a little bit too cringey, especially if we want audiences to take this new MCU seriously, so let’s go ahead and ditch those. We’re gonna keep the 2008 design and casting of Edward Norton here, because nothing against Ruffalo and his portrayal, but honestly, Edward Norton just looks more like how I’d imagine Bruce Banner looking. My only change in his character design would be the pants. I think Norton’s Hulk with purple pants would look great, except maybe not the super bright and vibrant pair that Betty tries offering him in the original movie:
Tumblr media
Maybe something more like a washed dark, almost plum kind of purple, something like these:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That way, there’s enough shade to tell that they’re purple without looking completely and totally ridiculous.
Now, as for the story, obviously this will be an origin, but this time, it’s not going to revolve around the Super Soldier serum. I’m all for Easter eggs, references, and interconnectivity, and I’d definitely love to explore the global implications that the serum would have caused, but we don’t need to have our Hulks be a part of that. With that said, we open the movie to a dessert landscape. In the midst of the vast sandy ocean, sits a lone military base, where we find General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross overseeing tests for the military’s latest advanced weapons program…funded by Stark Industries, of course. Due to complications during the tests, however, they recruited Dr Bruce Banner, gamma expert and long time colleague/lover to Betty Ross (the General’s daughter), so they could safely handle the large amounts of gamma radiation that was being used in the production of these weapons.
Having completed his analysis and correcting the errors that were made, Banner’s role with the military is now finished, and they are quick to escort him off the base. As they’re driving him away, Banner notices something, off in the distance. A massive Multiple Rocket Launcher (MLR) that is being lifted seemingly out of the ground. And directly in its line of fire, a civilian dune buggy cruising by. Banner frantically tries to get the soldiers to call off the test sequence, but there’s nothing they can do. The radio signal doesn’t reach that far out from the base and they wouldn’t be able to get to him in time. Banner disagrees, though, as he wrestles the soldiers and pushes the two of them off the jeep.
Taking the wheel, Banner speeds towards the civilian, shouting, honking, doing everything he can to get the man’s attention. Finally, the civilian hears Dr Banner, but still unable to make out what he’s saying. He slows to a stop, staring curiously at Banner. He squints to see Bruce pointing out to the side, and follows his finger to find the missiles preparing to launch. The civilian is now frozen in fear of his seemingly pending doom, watching as the missiles begin their launch sequence. They fire, and time seems to slow down for the man. He stares into the sky, as the missiles rise higher, soaring closer and closer towards him. Suddenly, his gaze is interrupted as Dr Banner tackles him down to the ground.
Banner clambers back up to his feet, and practically drags the civilian behind him as he works to regain his footing.
As they run, Banner shouts at the man.
Banner: THERE’S A DITCH ABOUT 100 FEET AHEAD OF US!!! WE MIGHT JUST BE ABLE TO MAKE IT AND GET US AT LEAST SOME SORT OF COVER AND HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE ENOUGH FOR US TO SURVIVE THIS BLAST!!!
The two of them race to the ditch, running as fast as they possibly can. Just before they make it, the missiles blast the ground behind them, destroying the jeep and the dune buggy in a massive explosion of debris, dirt, and sand, creating a shockwave strong enough to fling Banner and the civilian over that final stretch and right into the ditch. Bruce then shielded the man as much as he could in an attempt to limit the man’s exposure to the gamma radiation.
Unfortunately for Bruce Banner, however, the blast changed him. As soon as it was over, Bruce Banner was gone, and in his place loomed…The Incredible Hulk. The man just did nothing but stare. Amazed, and grateful, yet terrified at this creature which used to be Bruce Banner, the man who had just saved his life. Then, a hoard of military vehicles approach the blast zone. The Hulk stands up, and pulls himself out of the ditch. Almost immediately, the troops begin attacking Hulk.
Hulk snarls, and leaps into the air, letting out a fierce, bellowing roar, leaving behind a small dent in the desert floor where he once stood. Everyone stops firing, as they all stare up at The Hulk, now a spec against the blistering sky, in disbelief that something so massive could leap so high. Suddenly, that spec starts to grow larger and greener as he comes crashing back down onto the convoy. The impact is so great that now, The Hulk stands in the center of a massive crater in the once flawless desert floor, tanks, jeeps, and soldiers flying seemingly weightlessly around him. The Hulk then charges at full speed towards the military base. Helicopters can be seen retreating as the base begins evacuations. But they are too late. It is only just as the 3rd helicopter begins its ascent that The Hulk grabs the chopper by its tail, and hammer throws it out and into the horizon.
The Hulk then leaps to the side of the base. He turns to face the 4th wall, and reaches out toward the audience. The audience’s screen then glitches out, and camera cuts to reveal that The Hulk had just destroyed one of the base’s security cameras. He turns back towards the base, and stomps over the garage door. The Hulk rips it free from its hinges and then crumples the door like it’s a sheet of paper, tossing it aside. He stoops to fit through the entry, as the camera lingers outside the base. All that is heard is gunshots, soldiers screaming, menacing grunts, and short roars as the inside of the base is torn apart, gunshots and human shouts becoming less and less frequent. Finally, there is a moment of silence as the camera slowly pans towards the front of the base, progressively zooming in closer.
Finally, another loud, bellowing roar escapes from The Hulk as he smashes through the front and leaps off frame. A distant voice over the radio can be heard from inside the base, as it says “Lee!? Lee, this is Ross, what’s your status?? LEE!?” And the camera fades to black, cuing the title reveal.
We cut back to the aftermath in the desert, where Banner had saved that man’s life. Several soldiers are lying dead, many more severely injured. As the medics continued to tend to the wounded and the FBI cleaned the mess, General Ross, who had escaped in the first of the helicopters, was off to the side, interrogating the man.
Ross: What’s your name, son?
Man: Rick. Rick Jones.
Ross: What in the hell were you doing way out here??? You realize this is a restricted area?? No civilians should be anywhere NEAR here!!!
Rick: It…it was a dare…sir.
Ross: A DARE!?!?! Are you out of your damn mind!!! You could have been killed! So you were DARED to trespass onto the testing grounds!?
Rick: Yes…yes sir. Yes sir, I was.
Ross: [Sighing] During the blast, what did you see?
Rick: Not much. Just that doctor that saved me, but…it all happened so fast…when the dust cleared, the doc was gone, but…that…that THING was standing exactly where the doc was…
Ross: What do you mean?
Rick: I think…I don’t know…just…the doc was there, but then he was gone, and the creature was in his place.
Ross: Well, now because of you, we have a rampaging beast on the loose and no idea where Dr Banner is! I hope you’re proud. [At another soldier] Take the kid home, we’ve got enough trouble on our plate.
Camera then cuts to a sky eye overview of an area isolated by civilization somewhere along the Colorado River. As the camera pans the landscape, we see a massive crater, not much different than the one left in the wake of the Hulk’s rampage at the base. The camera then cuts to the edge of the crater, in the far distance a silhouette of a man. The camera pans towards him, as we see massive footprints in the sand gradually getting smaller and smaller until they fit the size of a human. The camera catches up with the man, who turns out to be Dr Banner. His hair a mess, face pale and clammy, and he seems to have lost most of his clothes, save for the ripped and stretched pants he now struggles to keep from falling. He reaches the bank of the river, and collapses, a single thought seemingly evident through his face…What just happened? Finally, Banner passes out.
There’s a static shot of Banner’s face as he’s lying down, then after a beat, the shot immediately cuts to night and Banner wakes with a gasp. Regaining his senses, he realizes he’s no longer alone here. Next to him, a fresh pair of clothes sits folded. A plain white shirt and dark burgundy, almost plum colored pants.
Voice off frame: I hope those fit. But even if they don’t, they might be better than those pants you have on now…if you can even call them that anymore. [Suddenly, Banner realizes exactly who this person is. She sits across the way, glowing from the light of the fire she’s made, dressed in a tank top and jeans, with a red flannel shirt tied around her waist. Her glasses shine in the firelight, as she gazes at the river.] You’re lucky I found you, Bruce.
Bruce: Betty?
Betty: It’s been a while. What are you doing way out here? I thought you were helping my father with something?
Bruce: I…I’m not sure. They were experimenting with weapons using gamma, and needed me to help assess any probability for error and evaluate the gamma safety before they could test…soon as I was done, they went ahead and escorted me out. As we were driving off the base, though, there was this…this KID. Fresh out of high school, it seemed, and…he was driving out in the testing field. I tried telling the soldiers to call it off, but they wouldn’t even try to help. I ended up fighting them, and commandeered their jeep to help the kid. We were running towards a ditch not too far out to take cover, and then…everything was just a blur from there. I remember being…angry. Rage-full, even. I remember soldiers and helicopters, but that’s about it. And then next thing I knew, I was…here. What about you, what are you doing here? And…where exactly is here, anyway?
Betty: Near South Cove in Nevada. Roughly 20 miles east of Boulder City. I was on my way out here to conduct a study on the microbiological environment of the Colorado River. It’s going to be a part of my students’ lesson plan for next week. During my drive, though, I saw…well, I…how do I put this…Bruce, I saw YOU. But you weren’t….you. Get dressed. I need to show you something.
Bruce, clearly intrigued, gets up. Camera cuts to the crater, and Betty and Bruce are seen walking up to it.
Betty: Do you recognize this area at all?
Bruce: Not really, no.
Betty: This is where I found you…except…God, you’re going to think I’m crazy….you…you were huge. And I mean, HUGE. You were nearly 10 feet tall, and…and just this massive hulk of muscle…and…Bruce? Bruce, you were GREEN.
Bruce: Betty, I—
Betty: [interrupting] I KNOW how it sounds, Bruce, and I wouldn’t have believed it, either, but…I watched you turn back, Bruce. I watched your skin return to normal as you shrunk back down. I don’t know how it’s possible, but I SAW YOU, Bruce. I SAW you. And, if you need proof…look at the footprints.
Bruce: Betty. It’s ok. I believe you. I don’t know how it’s possible, either, but I believe you. We need to get to a lab. Run tests. Figure out what’s happened to me.
Betty: We will. But first…[kisses him deeply, then whispers] I’ve missed you, Bruce. It’s good to see you again.
Bruce: I’ve missed you, too.
The two walk back to the camp, and the screen fades to black.
From here, the two catch up, and they head back to Betty’s lab. Meanwhile, General Ross is obsessed with finding Banner, as new found evidence from the base has proven to show that Bruce Banner IS the Hulk. The General has tried several times to contact his daughter, Betty, to warn her about Banner, and to ensure that she stays away from him. Before, it was simply a matter of him not liking Bruce. He never liked him, and always thought that Betty settled for him when he knew she could do better. In fact, he was opposed to calling in Bruce to assist with the weapons test. He would have called in Betty, instead, knowing that she was just as knowledgeable in Gamma radiation as Banner, but they had spoken earlier about this trip she was taking, and knew she would be unavailable. But now, it was a matter of her own protection, and keeping The Hulk away from her. Hunting down and stopping The Hulk at all costs has now become priority number one.
Now, at this point, the 2008 movie showed Ross hunting down the Hulk, and used his military team as a bridge to connect Hulk to a secondary antagonist. Enter Emil Blonsky, aka, The Abomination. I like that they used the military hunting The Hulk to establish the connection between him and Abomination, but I have other plans for Blonsky. So we’re gonna put him on the back burner, and instead, we’re going to fill his original role with the character, Dirk Garthwaite.
For the most part, Garthwaite is going to be characterized similarly to how Blonsky was. Cocky, trigger happy, and “corrupted” essentially by his authoritative power. He will be leading Ross’s elite strike team, tasked with tracking down and eliminating The Hulk. With Garthwaite, comes two of his inseparable, ride or die, packaged deal soldiers, Henry Camp and Brian Calusky. Ross assigns the three of them a massive team with heavy weaponry, stealth gear, and anything else they might need to bring the Hulk down. Ross also assigns Eliot Franklin, a former Stark Industries employee who helped to pioneer the gamma-based weaponry that created the Hulk, to help the team track the Hulk’s gamma signature.
Throughout the remaining first half of the movie, Banner and Betty work to catch up, and discover how the Gamma radiation affected him and his DNA, all the while, being interrupted by Garthwaite and his team, and having to fight them off.
To start off the 3rd and final act, Garthwaite and his men have suffered yet another loss against the Hulk. Garthwaite decides that desperate times call for desperate measures. He leads Calusky, Camp, and Franklin to an undisclosed location in the woods, a shovel in hand as a storm starts brewing overhead. The crew keeps asking Garthwaite several questions about where they’re at, what they’re doing, and just voicing off overall concerns, but he just ignores them. He then stops, and starts digging.
Henry: Garth, cmon, what the hell are we doing out here, man? Ross is gonna have our asses if he finds out we’re not tracking Banner!
Dirk: [still digging, finally at his tolerance level of the men’s questioning] All right! All of you need to shut up, and listen. Years ago, during one of my earlier ops missions, there were…things that I saw. Things that I…can’t explain. And even if I could, y’all wouldn’t believe me. Hell, I wouldn’t have believed me. I swore never to speak of it again. To never go back. This mission, I planned to take to the grave with me. [Thunder claps in the distance, as it begins to rain and lightning] Not even my superiors from then know the details of that mission. I vowed never to return to it. [finally, he strikes something hard, and continues to clear the dirt, revealing an elongated case] The mission was to apprehend a high value target. Seemed as simple as that. But as it turned out, this target…wasn’t from around…Earth. I think she called herself something like an…Ass…Guard? Ass…Guardian???? I don’t know, some weird shit that didn’t sound like anywhere on Earth. But she had this…crowbar. [he pulls the case out the ground, and opens it, revealing the crowbar inside] But it’s not like your average crowbar. I don’t know how to explain it. But I took it from her on that mission, and I felt…different. Stronger. Powerful. I never would have imagined I’d need it. But if ANYTHING’S gonna take out the Hulk…it’s this baby.
Dirk lifts the crowbar in the air, high above his head. His crew just stares at each other for a moment before bursting into laughter at his nonsensical story. But their laughter is short lived, as they notice the crowbar beginning to shimmer in the lighting, runes glowing. Suddenly, the crowbar is struck by lightning and electricity arches out, striking the 4 men all at once. They all shout in agonizing pain and surprise as the camera zooms out, and the scene fades to black.
We cut to Ross, overseeing the repair and reconstruction of the desert base from The Hulk’s creation, who has just learned his four men charged with tracking The Hulk, have disappeared.
Ross: GONE!? What do you mean they’re GONE!? GONE WHERE!?
As though on cue, Dirk and his crew walk up to Ross.
Dirk: We’re right here, Boss.
Ross: [immediately turning on them] And where the hell have you four been!?!? And why aren’t you out there hunting down Banner?!?
Dirk: Needed some reinforcements. [Shows Ross his crowbar]
Ross: [laughing in disbelief] You went…to get a damn CROWBAR??? How the FUCK is that reinforcement?!? Have you lost your goddamn mind, soldier!?!?
Dirk: Maybe it’s best if you see just what we can do. You see that big ol missile launcher out there? [points with his crowbar] Watch this.
Dirk throws his crowbar, sending it flying straight for the MLR that created the Hulk just days before. The crowbar destroys the MLR, and then flies right back into Dirk’s hand. Ross just stares with his mouth open.
Dirk: But that ain’t all. [Calling out] Boys, give the man little demo!
His crew all nod simultaneously. Eliot makes his way to a line wrecking ball truck, gradually picking up speed as he begins running, leaps up, and lands on the wrecking ball. He then snaps the chain in half, and the wrecking ball thuds to the ground in a cloud of dust. Suddenly, it begins to move as Eliot lifts it off the ground. As he walks back to where Ross and Dirk are standing, he begins swinging the ball high over head like a mace.
Dirk: Yo, Brian! Get over here!
Brian trots over.
Dirk: [To Ross] Shoot him.
Ross is surprised Dirk would make such a callous request about his friend. Dirk sees this.
Dirk: It’s ok. You seen what me and Eliot can do. Trust me. Shoot Brian. As a matter of fact, shoot him a few times.
Ross, hesitantly decides to trust him. He pulls out his sidearm, and shoots Brian 5 times. Brian still stands there, unphased, as the bullets fall in the sand, not a scratch on him.
Dirk: And we got one more thing for ya to see, Boss. Brian, see that forklift? Pass it over to Henry for me.
Brian: On it!
Brian goes over to the forklift, and pushes it on its side.
Brian: Yo, Camp!!! Catch!!
Brian kicks the forklift with full force over to Henry, who braces for impact, taking stance, shifting his entire body weight forward, titling his head down, and lifting his shoulders up as the forklift flies toward him. Henry plows straight through it, completely unshaken as the forklift comes to a stop, with a hole ripped clean through the machinery where Henry stood. They all gather back around Ross and Dirk.
Dirk: General Ross. This here’s my Wrecking Crew. And we got us a Hulk to wreck.
Tumblr media
The movie’s finale would be an epic city showdown between the Hulk and the Wrecking Crew, with Betty caught in the midst of the havoc. Ross and the military are there to provide air support for the Wrecking Crew as they fire down on the Hulk. Suddenly, debris falls from a building, with Betty directly in its path. Hulk breaks way from the battle, and shields her from the Debris. Ross orders his men to stop firing, in fear of accidentally hitting her. The Hulk then grabs Betty, and takes her away to a safe distance, Ross in close pursuit.
Cut away to a building a distance away from the carnage of the battleground, where Hulk lands, and gets Betty to safety. Ross’s helicopter levels out with the rooftop so Ross can step down. Hulk snarls at the sight of him, and steps forward, as if to protect Betty. But Betty grabs his arm, and looks up at him.
Betty: It’s ok. Thank you for wanting to protect me. But you have to stop them before they bring the whole city down. Watch over Banner for me, ok, Big Guy? [she kisses his hand, and walks away to the chopper]
Ross: [To Betty] I’ll be right there. [Approaches Hulk] I don’t like you. And I don’t like Banner. I never have, and I don’t think I ever will. But I can’t sit there and pretend like you didn’t just save my daughter down there, and for that, I thank you. We’ll leave you to deal with those idiots down there…I don’t need super powered FREAKS in my ranks. But we will be keeping our eye on you, and we will hunt you down if you show back up after this. And Banner. If you can hear me in there. Stay the hell away from my daughter. [walks away, back to the chopper]
Hulk, rolls his eyes as Ross’s chopper flies away, and turns back to face the damage. In the distance, the Wrecking Crew taunts The Hulk. He lets out a deafening roar, and leaps off frame. Camera cuts back to the streets, where the Wrecking Crew continues to wreak havoc. Dirk slams his crowbar into a police cruiser, sending it flying. Suddenly, The Hulk lands and catches the cruiser. He rips it in half, and fits the vehicle halves over his hands like gauntlets (Yes, I stole that right from the 2008 film, that was a badass scene, and I’d be crazy not to keep it.😂😂). The hulk smiles at them, about to enjoy this moment. He charges at the Wrecking Crew, and they all exchange a series of blows. The fight goes on for a few minutes until finally, Hulk unleashes his thunderclap, shouting, “HULK SMASH!!!!” This creates a shockwave so powerful it sends the Wrecking Crew flying, and causing Dirk to lose his crowbar in the wreckage. Without it, the four are powerless, and knocked unconscious from the blast. Then, several government agents swarm the area. Hulk snarls at them, but then a voice from behind calls out to him.
Voice: Stand down! We are not a threat!
Camera pans around to reveal the man speaking is none other than Nick Fury, director of SHIELD.
Fury: We’re merely here on clean up. But when you’ve calmed back down…we will definitely need to speak with Dr Banner. Coulson!
Agent Coulson comes up from behind Fury, standing next to him.
Coulson: Sir?
Fury: Grab that crowbar, and lock it up. We got some questions for Mr Garthwaite and company.
Coulson: Already on it, Sir.
The SHIELD agents arrest the wrecking crew, and contain Dirk’s crowbar. They all start clearing the area. Fury looks back at the Hulk, curiously before finally leaving the scene. The fight over, Hulk leaps away, bounding over buildings, and gains more and more air before leaving us with a final cinematic shot against the night sky. Cue credits.
Open to the mid credits scene:
Inside the SHIELD Helicarrier:
Maria Hill: Sir, a new report just came in, you might want to take a look at this.
Fury opens the file. It’s a single image, depicting a news paper, headlining:
Tumblr media
Fury: Set course to New York. Seems like we got ourselves a Spider to catch.
Close scene with Danny Elfman’s Spider-Man theme.
It’s worth noting that along with Edward Norton reprising his role as Bruce Banner, William Hurt will still be General Ross, and Liv Tyler would still be Betty Ross. Now, I know Hurt had recently passed, and was recast by Harrison Ford, who did a great job in the role, but my thinking is that with my reimagining of the MCU, working under the concept that Marvel didn’t have to sell their rights, and how this Hulk movie would have come out earlier than the actual one, that would give us the wiggle room to give Hurt an opportunity to later shine as The Red Hulk before his eventual passing. As for Betty, I considered recasting her, but nobody else seemed to fit how I’d imagine her. I would also keep Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson and Sam Jackson as Nick Fury, as those roles seem irreplaceable to me. As for my Wrecking Crew, I would cast Arnold Vosloo for Dirk Garthwaite/Wrecker, Dominic Purcell as Henry Camp/Bulldozer, Ben Affleck as Brian Calusky/Piledriver, and finally, Terry Crews as Eliot Franklin/Thunderball.
Keep in mind, this concept for The Incredible Hulk is under the impression that it would have been released in 2002, and in this version of the MCU, rights are not a concern, as this is how the MCU could have looked had Marvel Comics not been in the financial crisis that they were in in the 90’s, and never had to sell off any filming rights. This would have left the Marvel Legacy films from before 2008 to one of two fates. They could be erased from history altogether, or, they could have all started the greater MCU, with Blade in 1998, rather than Iron Man in 2008. I’ve decided to start almost entirely from scratch, erasing most of those Marvel Legacy films from existence (as I have other plans for them later) while also keeping some of them and integrating them into my version of the MCU.

Note
Ok, I just swallowed like, 5 hours of video explaining the whole fallout story and now that I know more or less what's going on, I can say that I really want a Fallout Rottmnt.
The Idea of Donnie creating his own brotherhood of steel is so cool, he would probably name it something like, the order of atomic lass or something, and all the armors would have phosphorescent lights and speakers included,
I just pictured Donnie downloading Shelldom into the enclave computer and pretending to be the president.
If Leo joins a cult it will only be to get high on dangerous substances and participate in orgies, if he realizes that the children of the atom don't do that he will skidaddle.
Mikey is dedicated to domesticate wild mutant beasts in order to create delicious dishes.
And Raph, he's just chilling out helping local farmers, occasionally wrestling supermutants.
While Draxum is out there in his mutant faction negotiating a truce with the NCR that he will definitely break later until one day he just:
Draxum: I haven't seen the guys in a while, where are they?
Splinter: oh, they left to explore the wasteland about... Three months ago?
Draxum: THEY WHAT!!!
Geeze, you have a better attention span than me. I'm guessing a lot of that was a rundown on the events leading up to the Great War, and then obviously the events of each game and the different factions at play. That's a lot of summarizing you sat through.
A quick note for other people on the Brotherhood of Steel: their entire thing is preserving and controlling advanced technology, with some factions evolving to start developing it on their own. Their core dogma is that humanity can't be trusted with the means to destroy itself. Which...considering this is a universe where humanity literally did nuke itself to the brink of extinction, you can't really say they're wrong. They are also very cultish. Which Donnie would probably consider more of a bonus, honestly. Donnie can't join them unfortunately because they are racists. Their relationship with mutants and ghouls differ based on the chapter-the Mojave chapter is neutral towards the mostly peaceful Black Mountain super mutants until Tabitha takes over, and the East Coast chapters recruit from 'impure' wastelanders who all have minor mutations-but overall, they are very fucking racist and blood purity is a huge tenet of their beliefs. (I know there are mutant and ghoul members in Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, but that's...we don't talk about that game. It's not canon and we generally pretend it didn't happen) The East Coast chapters probably wouldn't shoot Donnie on sight, but they would never accept his help nor acknowledge his brilliance, no matter how hard it smacks them in the face.
But oh my god, Donnie would pimp out power armor like a crazy man. He'd have such a fucking blast too, like it stops being about armor at some point and just starts being Pimp My Ride: Tin Can Edition. I could see him joining up with the Atom Cats to bitch about what pricks the Brotherhood are and doing the funkiest paint jobs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They'd 100% accept Donnie immediately and invite him to their poetry night.
Also, lol Donnie getting access to the ZAX computer at Raven Rock and only using it to insert Shelldon into the mainframe.
I imagine he doesn't even delete Eden, he just lets him go on as normal and just occasionally interspersing his radio broadcasts with twenty-second clips of Shelldon doing a really derogatory impersonation. And occasionally subbing in heavy metal music.
I mean, maybe the Children of Atom do that? Not the original sect, they're pretty benign, but the guys running around shooting gamma guns at people and praying over nuclear dumping grounds? They imprisoned a Glowing One in a lighthouse and started worshipping it, those guys must be on some stuff. Or the guys living in the Crater, they could totally be having orgies where you don't see them. Then again, they do all have radiation poisoning. I feel like your skin sloughing off kills the mood.
I could see Leo joining to cross 'join a cult' off his bucket list, thinking it's just some kooky outfits and maybe he'll get to speak in tongues or whatever and it'll be a fun story to lord over Donnie later. The Children would probably think he's divine or something since he's immune to radiation and has such a powerful mutation. Which would stroke his ego so much.
But then people are drinking ghoul piss and irradiating themselves to the point of shitting out their bowels and he decides to nope out. Shit's too weird even for him. The question is whether the Children would let him leave.
Mikey is doing the same thing he is in Todd's mutant town, just playing Fallout 4 Settlement Builder and making the cutest little homesteads.
Raph would be mistaken for a super mutant a lot. And it would drive him crazy because under normal circumstances he would really like to be friends with some super mutants, but they're all so mean! Why are they all cannibals?! Yes, he likes to smash, but not so lethally!!
They do like dogs though, which Raph appreciates. He would absolutely adopt a mutant hound. (not a centaur though; those freak him out) And they're communists, though I feel like Raph is more of a capitalist-apologist. He's got the spirit, he's just ill-informed.

Forecast Discussion
Product: Forecast Discussion Issued: 2025 Jan 06 1230 UTC Prepared by the U.S. Dept. of Commerce, NOAA, Space Weather Prediction Center Solar Activity .24 hr Summary... Solar activity was at moderate levels with a total of three M-class flares, all from Region 3947 (N11E21, Dkc/beta-gamma-delta). The largest of these events was an M3.1/1n flare at 06/0152 UTC. The other two M-class flares were an M2.4 flare at 05/1537 UTC and an M1.4/1f flare at 06/0350 UTC. Multiple C-class flares observed from this region as well. Region 3947 maintained a weak delta signature in its trailing spots, but observed slight overall decay. Region 3941 (S06W74, Dso/beta) produced a C5.0 flare at 05/1817 UTC, and Region 3949 (S05W53, Cso/beta) added a C4.8/Sf at 05/1807 UTC. Region 3943 (S16W10, Cso/beta) contributed a C4.3 flare at 05/2057 UTC, and Region 3945 rounded out the C-class flares with a C3.2/Sf flare at 06/0751 UTC. The remaining active regions were either relatively stable or in decay. No new Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery. However, a fast CME originating from AR 3939 on 04 Jan was modeled and determined to be a glancing blow at Earth by late on 06 Jan with the bulk of the material being well ahead of Earth's orbit. .Forecast... R1-R2 (Minor-Moderate) radio blackouts are expected, with a chance for isolated R3 (Strong) or greater events through 07 Jan, as AR 3947 continues to mature and a number of active regions approach the western limb. Probabilities decrease slightly on 08 Jan as multiple regions transit and exit the western limb, but AR 3947 remains. Energetic Particles .24 hr Summary... The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached a peak flux of 1,070 pfu at 05/1950 UTC, but was not sustained long enough to warrant a SWPC electron flux alert. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux began the period in S1 (Minor) solar radiation storm levels at 04/2255 UTC, reached a peak flux of 20 pfu at 05/0055 UTC and ended at 06/0940 UTC. .Forecast... The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to briefly reach high levels early on 06 Jan and return to normal to moderate levels for 07-08 Jan. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue a gradual trend towards background-like levels over the course of 06 Jan while a chance for another event remains. A slight chance for S1 (Minor) solar radiation storming will persist on 07 Jan and through 08 Jan as multiple CME producing regions transit and exit the western limb. Solar Wind .24 hr Summary... The solar wind environment reflected sustained, but slightly weakening, positive polarity CH HSS influence. Total field primarily ranged 6-9 nT, the Bz component underwent several, sustained southward deflections of -5 to -7 nT, and solar wind speeds gradually decreased from ~600 km/s to -530 km/s. Phi remained in a positive orientation. .Forecast... An enhanced solar wind environment due to positive polarity CH HSS influence is expected to persist, although gradually weakening, through 08 Jan. An additional shock to the environment is likely by late on 06 Jan due to the aforementioned 04 Jan CME giving glancing effects. Geospace .24 hr Summary... The geomagnetic field was unsettled to active. .Forecast... G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storming is likely, with a chance for an isolated G2 (Moderate) period, by late on 06 Jan due to glancing effects from the periphery of the 04 Jan CME. Unsettled to active conditions are expected on 07 Jan as any CME effects linger, coupled with weakening positive polarity CH HSS effects. Quiet to unsettled conditions are expected on 08 Jan as CH HSS effects taper off.

FAST detected 90% circular polarization in a repeating fast radio burst
Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are a kind of energetic cosmic radio burst. Though their duration is usually at millisecond scale, their energy (estimated isotropically) reaches 10^36 ~10^41 erg, equivalent to the energy release of the sun in minutes to months. Some FRB sources emit bursts repeatedly, releasing even more energy in total. Since the discovery in 2007, the physical mechanism for such bright radio emission has become atrending topic in astrophysics. The polarization of electromagnetic wave is usually thought to carry key information of the astrophysical sources, e.g. the linear polarization usually traces the geometric configuration of magnetic fields in the radiation zone and circular polarization probes both intrinsic radiation mechanisms and propagation effects. The “China Sky Eye” Five hundred meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) is the largest single dish radio telescope in the world. With its superb sensitivity and polarimetry precision, FAST has many important discoveries in the field of FRB observation.
FRB 20201124A is an FRB repeater discovered on 2020 November 24 by the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment (CHIME) telescope. During its first active episode in 2021 March-May, radio telescopes around the world including FAST achieved rich observational results. This FRB repeater entered another short but fierce active episode in late September 2021, during which the highest event rate recorded by FAST exceeded 500 bursts per hour.
Recently, the FAST key science project fast radio burst searches and multi-wavelength observations analyze the FAST data of the second active episode of FRB 20201124A in 2021 September, in which the scientists find a fast radio burst with 90% circular polarization. Such high degree of circular polarization is both unprecedented in FRB observations, and also unpredicted in theoretical models. In addition, rapid variation and jumps are also found in the observational data. These findings may provide new constraints and clues for the theoretical research on the radiative mechanism of FRBs. The research team have measured the polarization of more than 500 fast radio bursts in four FAST observation session between 2021 September 25 and 28. Among them, the average or peak circular polarization fraction of 32 bursts exceed 50%. The highest degree of circular polarization reaches 90.9%, which is the new record in FRB observation. Rapid variation in polarization fraction and position angle, sign reversal of circular polarization, and orthogonal jump of position angle due to orthogonal polarization modes (OPMs) are also found in the observation. These findings are recently published in National Science Review, with title “Ninety percent circular polarization detected in a repeating fast radio burst”. The corresponding authors are Prof Kejia Lee from Peking University, Prof. Weiwei Zhu from National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NAOC, CAS) and Prof. Bing Zhang from University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Jinchen Jiang and Jiarui Niu of NAOC and Jiangwei Xu of Peking university are the first authors.
There are currently two categories of emission mechanisms for FRB repeaters. The gamma-ray burst (GRB) like models presume that relativistic shocks from a compact central engine stimulate masers in the outer medium, while in the pulsar-like models the FRBs are generated in the pulsar magnetosphere. In the early days, the FRB observations generally show linearly polarization with constant direction, which can be explained by both kinds of models.
Thus, the two types of models cannot be tested. The polarization observational results of FRB 20201124A challenges both kinds of models. For GRB-like models, the high degree of circular polarization can only be observed at the edge of the emission beam generated by relativistic particles, where the emission should be fainter compared with the beam center.
However, such brightness difference is not significant in observation. The rapid variation of linear polarization is also difficult to explain under GRB-like models. It’s more convenient to explain the observation using pulsar-like models, though the observed circular polarization fraction curves also limit the geometric parameters of the magnetosphere.

More MHA Rambling
Do you think some of the superheroes from the Incredibles existed at one point, like not exactly everyone of them but like there are some heroes that existed and had similar powers and designs to the ones we've seen in the franchise.
Like say someone has gone to the support course to request some gear and they start suggesting capes and the whole room all at once yells 'NO CAPES!' If I were to be writing characters talking about older superheroes I would totally take beats from the Incredibles.
'God Denki's like that old American Hero, what was his name, the one that had to cool his head before fighting a pretty villainess, the radiation one, YEAH GAMMA JACK, that's the one.'
'Hey Bakugo you really should have gone with the Dynaguy name'
'Hey No! That would be disrespectful to the original!'
I think the general idea of using the really good Incredibles superhero names as background references would be really funny, as it's always really fun to hear about the older heroes in MHA, when we do it's usually one of the previous AFO holders or Crimson Riot.
Anyway, ramble over.

reading up about neutron bombs and i'm thoroughly impressed at how completely bat shit evil this stuff was.
what the fuck was NATO thinking incorporating this as the basis of their strategy in "defending" west germany?
A neutron bomb, officially defined as a type of enhanced radiation weapon (ERW), is a low-yield thermonuclear weapon designed to maximize lethal neutron radiation in the immediate vicinity of the blast while minimizing the physical power of the blast itself...
By designing the thermonuclear stage of the weapon carefully, the neutron burst can be maximized while minimizing the blast itself. This makes the lethal radius of the neutron burst greater than that of the explosion itself. Since the neutrons are absorbed or decay rapidly, such a burst over an enemy column would kill the crews but leave the area able to be quickly reoccupied. Compared to a pure fission bomb with an identical explosive yield, a neutron bomb would emit about ten times the amount of neutron radiation. In a fission bomb, at sea level, the total radiation pulse energy which is composed of both gamma rays and neutrons is approximately 5% of the entire energy released; in neutron bombs, it would be closer to 40%, with the percentage increase coming from the higher production of neutrons...
Considerable controversy arose in the US and Western Europe following a June 1977 Washington Post exposé describing US government plans to equip US Armed Forces with neutron bombs. The article focused on the fact that it was the first weapon specifically intended to kill humans with radiation. Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory director Harold Brown and Soviet General Secretary Leonid Brezhnev both described neutron bombs as a "capitalist bomb", because it was designed to destroy people while preserving property.
Upon detonation, a near-ground airburst of a 1-kiloton neutron bomb would produce a large blast wave and a powerful pulse of both thermal radiation and ionizing radiation in the form of fast (14.1 MeV) neutrons. The thermal pulse would cause third degree burns to unprotected skin out to approximately 500 meters. The blast would create pressures of at least 4.6 psi (32 kPa) out to a radius of 600 meters, which would severely damage all non-reinforced concrete structures. At the conventional effective combat range against modern main battle tanks and armored personnel carriers (< 690–900 m), the blast from a 1 kt neutron bomb would destroy or damage to the point of nonusability almost all un-reinforced civilian buildings...
Using neutron bombs to stop an enemy armored attack by rapidly incapacitating crews with a dose of 80+ Gy of radiation would require exploding large numbers of them to blanket the enemy forces, destroying all normal civilian buildings within c. 600 meters of the immediate area. Neutron activation from the explosions could make many building materials in the city radioactive, such as galvanized steel (see area denial use below)...
The pulse of neutron radiation would cause immediate and permanent incapacitation to unprotected outdoor humans in the open out to 900 meters, with death occurring in one or two days. The median lethal dose (LD50) of 6 Gray would extend to between 1350 and 1400 meters for those unprotected and outdoors, where approximately half of those exposed would die of radiation sickness after several weeks....
I wonder who was behind the development of these?
The concept was originally developed by the United States in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It was seen as a "cleaner" bomb for use against massed Soviet armored divisions. As these would be used over allied nations, notably West Germany, the reduced blast damage was seen as an important advantage...
The weapon was once again proposed for tactical use by the United States in the 1970s and 1980s, and production of the W70 began for the MGM-52 Lance in 1981. This time, it led to protests as the growing anti-nuclear movement gained strength through this period. Opposition was so intense that European leaders refused to accept it on their territory. US President Ronald Reagan ordered the production of the W70-3, which remained in the US stockpile until they were retired in 1992. The last W70 was dismantled in February 1996...
President Carter delayed development of the neutron bomb in 1978, but during Ronald Reagan's presidency, Cohen claims to have convinced Reagan to make 700 neutron bombs, 350 shells to go into the 8 inch (200-millimeter) howitzer and 350 W70 Mod. 3 warheads for the Lance missile...
In much the same fashion as the area denial effect resulting from fission product (the substances that make up most fallout) contamination in an area following a conventional surface-burst nuclear explosion, as considered in the Korean War by Douglas MacArthur, it would thus be a form of radiological warfare—with the difference that neutron bombs produce half, or less, of the quantity of fission products relative to the same-yield pure fission bomb.
In November 2012, British Labour peer Lord Gilbert suggested that multiple enhanced radiation reduced blast (ERRB) warheads could be detonated in the mountain region of the Afghanistan-Pakistan border to prevent infiltration. He proposed to warn the inhabitants to evacuate, then irradiate the area, making it unusable and impassable. Used in this manner, the neutron bomb(s), regardless of burst height, would release neutron activated casing materials used in the bomb, and depending on burst height, create radioactive soil activation products.
In much the same fashion as the area denial effect resulting from fission product fallout contamination in an area following a conventional surface-burst nuclear explosion, as considered in the Korean War by Douglas MacArthur, it would thus be a form of radiological warfare—with the difference that neutron bombs produce half, or less, of the quantity of fission products relative to the same-yield pure fission bomb. Radiological warfare with neutron bombs that rely on fission primaries would thus still produce fission fallout.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the strategic doctrine of the Warsaw Pact:
Rather than making extensive preparations for battlefield nuclear combat in Central Europe, the Soviet military leadership believed that conventional superiority provided the Warsaw Pact with the means to approximate the effects of nuclear weapons and achieve victory in Europe without resort to those weapons.
No wonder Wessies were so up in arms and were protesting about America deploying even more nuclear weapons on their soil. They were never considered to be anything more than a speedbump against the USSR.

… tell me about Endospores.
I love mushrooms and spores and fungi, I want you to tell me an entire Wiki page
(this is totally not Shiek, who has not been checking every single notification to see if people liked the Reddit screenshot….. hi)
Hello!! I fuckin love endospores and ur the first person to actually send an ask about them
Endospores are actually a type of bacteria! Some environmental bacilli produce an endospore coating to withstand extremely harsh environments and is usually initiated by total nutrient deprivation (think of an absence of nitrogen). That being said, the bacteria in our bodies won’t undergo this process, but finding out whether an endospore bacterium is introduced to your body is pretty important because endospores require very specific treatments given their nature. For example, bacillus anthracis (my favorite example) - this bacterium is responsible for anthrax infections, the only effective treatment being an antibiotic called Cipro.
To (sorta) briefly explain how endospores are formed - when environmental conditions are no longer viable to sustain life, the bacterium begins an 8 hour endosporulation process in which the cells DNA is duplicated and a septal wall is created that asymmetrically divides the cell, and a spore coat is formed around the forespore and there is a thick peptidoglycan cortex formed between the layers of the two halves of the cell. Once the sporulation process is completed, the newly matured endospore is released once the rest of the vegetative cell is degraded. The cortex is basically what allows the endospore to be highly resistant against high temperatures and enzymes and most chemicals that are otherwise effective against other bacteria.
This is why autoclaving is one of the most effective ways of disinfecting surfaces! Otherwise, sterilant alkylating agents, like ETO and household bleach are effective (since not everyone owns an autoclave but a girl can dream). Household bleach must be in contact with endospores for a minimum of 10 minutes for it to actually kill the bacteria; increasing the concentration instead will NOT be effective, it may actually cause bacteria to aggregate and survive. Ionizing radiation (e.g., x-rays, gamma rays) is also effective against most endospores!
Now one of the coolest facts about endospores imo - the endospore is PROTECTIVE for the bacteria in these really harsh, nitrogen depleted environments, right? So for the bacteria to survive, it will actually be in a dormant state until either environmental conditions improve or they’re chemically stimulated to undergo activation, germination, and outgrowth. This means they can lie dormant for MILLIONS of YEARS - one endospore was actually found encased in amber and was actually reactivated.
Also,

Alternative Matter
Dark matter and antimatter have featured in many renowned sci-fi films. From Star Trek to Dark Storm, these vague concepts have been used as a catch-all for powerful matter capable of being used for extremely powerful technology.
So let’s understand what they actually are.
Dark Matter
Like any matter, dark matter has mass and takes up space. Uniquely, dark matter does not reflect, absorb, or radiate light in a way detectable by humans. A lot about it is still being discovered, as NASA writes, scientists “are not sure what it is” even though it takes up about 27% of the universe.
The first hints at dark matter emerged in the 1930s from an astronomer observing the Coma galaxy cluster. Because it moved as if it had more mass and size than what could be observed, astronomers theorized a matter that does not interact with observable light.
The concept of dark matter solidified in the 1970s by another astronomer who was observing the rotations of galaxies. This astronomer, Vera Rubin, also concluded that there must be significant amounts of unseen matter due to the gravity (and thus mass) of other galaxies. Today, dark matter is theorized to make up about 85% of total matter in the universe when including both mass and energy.
Aside from their role in understanding the physics of the universe and other galaxies, dark matter does not have a lot of use here on Earth. It’s hard enough to pinpoint exactly what it is in regard to actually detecting it, since it doesn’t interact with the electromagnetic spectrum. We only know it exists because of its interaction with gravity.
One potential use of it is in propulsion physics. Researchers have created models for how dark matter might be used as fuel for rockets. Achieving this technology will take extensive testing and analysis, but current models for this are promising for solving the current limits of chemical fuel.
Antimatter
Antimatter is, of course, another form of matter. The subatomic particles that make up antimatter are the same mass and matter as protons, neutrons, and electrons, but with inverted charges. For example, positrons have the same mass and charge strength as electrons, but are positively charged while electrons are negative. Antiprotons contrast with protons, and antineutrons contrast with neutrons.
Antimatter was first theorized in 1928 and confirmed in 1932 with the observance of the positron in cosmic rays. Cosmic rays carry antimatter, among other particles, and bring small amounts into Earth’s atmosphere.
Antimatter is far rarer than matter, though we’re not sure why. Potentially, more matter than antimatter was produced at the beginning of the universe. When antimatter and matter interact, they cancel each other out and produce energy, so mutual annihilation just leaves behind more matter.
Another theory is that the neutrino is antimatter. Neutrinos are subatomic particles that rarely interact with other particles, have no charge, and are very abundant in the universe. If neutrinos are antimatter, they would have been able to transition into matter, creating the discrepancy in the presence of matter and antimatter. This theory is also the main reason neutrinos are theorized to be their own antiparticle.
Antimatter is also theorized to be a potential fuel for spacecrafts. The energy produced by matter and antimatter interacting could facilitate vehicles flying to Mars. Unfortunately, producing the necessary positrons is very expensive.
Positrons come from electrons interacting with a tungsten target. Tungsten causes electrons to release radiation in the form of gamma rays, some of which produce electron-positron pairs. This process necessitates producing an electron beam and using a magnet to collect the positrons, and so can be monetarily inefficient, but the cost of space travel is not exactly avoidable.
Dark matter and antimatter are very real things that affect our universe. Though they are generally distant concepts and not strongly relevant to modern lives, the universe exists as it is because of these influences. As we continue to explore our galaxy, these concepts might become increasingly important to figuring out how to best explore space.

The Incredible Hulk 161 (March 1973)
Steve Englehart/Herb Trimpe
Beast's arc from Amazing Adventures concludes...in a a Hulk comic! This stuff is hard enough to follow now but it must have been truly baffling in 1973. The six-issue Amazing Adventures run ended with an issue full of baffling in-jokes that resolved nothing and in no way told you that you needed to go and read this issue now, and it's easy enough to track down online, but back then, I dunno. Anyway, this issue is actually mostly not about Beast, or Hulk, or Mimic (Mimic is in this) but rather the great nation of Canada.
Tumblr media
Hulk has fled from the US into Canada to find the peace in the wilderness he seeks: but so has Calvin Rank, aka Mimic, who we've seen in a few X-Men stories being first a villain and then a kind of equivocal hero (again, if you were a random Hulk fan in the early 70s picking up this issue, how could you have known any of this?).
Tumblr media
Mimic's powers have gone out of control, stealing powers from other heroes in an ever-incrwasing radius, which is why he's hding out in remote Canada: but he's summoned Hank (via Vera, who still doesn't know that Hank is Beast) to see if he can fix this problem. In order to get across the border, incidentally, Hank "has to" knock Vera unconscious.
Tumblr media
It's fine! She's not even mad! She said so!
Tumblr media
Eventually Mimic's effects start sapping Hulk's powers and he comes over to investigate why this is happening and smash the source of the problem, but this actually just kills Mimic, who absorbs a massive amount of gamma radiation from Hulk's powers. So...problem solved, sort of, and thanks for all your help, Dr McCoy. Then he gaslights Vera about it a bunch.
Tumblr media
So yeah, this is a really weird issue and Hank is kind of terrible in it, and also almost totally extraneous to the plot, and this is doesn't really tie up his own new plot threads, but it's I think the only look at him we get for a while, so...weird. Yeah. Not great. Onward now though to various other X-Men guest appearances of the era.
