OKAY LAST ONE AS I AM LITERALLY IN CLASS. i was never super into the books (they're good, i just--honestly i preferred the tv show; i'm a strong proponent of "the screen adaptation is NOT always worse you CRETINS" + i just enjoyed it more, especially the characters of harry and bob specifically. especially bob holy shit literally could talk about tv!bob for hours, one time my thesis advisor made the mistake of asking and. ldkfjg.) but i remember the character of mr marcone being particularly interesting and like. prevalent? so i guess i'm wondering how you might have integrated him into the tvverse had you gotten another season(s) 🤔
Marcone was in the original script for STORM FRONT (the pilot that became like, episode 7), but he and Toottoot and lots of other fun stuff got cut for time and budget.

HI <3 Sheith VC anon here back with a very humble request. So I've read TVL and am currently reading QoTD, just finished the Devil's Minion chapter (oH mY gOD my HEART). I'm going through the books a bit slowly bc life stuff, but I have sooooo many thoughts and feelings and feel like I need to read lots of fic to work through it LOL. I would love it if you could rec me some (or tons of!) fics that wouldn't give me (m)any spoilers re: stuff that happens after this point in the series. I realize this might be a kind of hard/maybe impossible request because a lot of those spoilers would be referring to things that chronologically would have taken place prior to DM for instance, but I'm so starved I thought I might ask just in case! I'm not suuuper partial to any specific ships (Lestat/Louis is a bit boring IMO 😭 but I love them so I'll take it) and I don't have any NOTPs, so I'm down to read pretty much anything (esp if it's spicy and/or hurts my heart and/or features Armand lmao). Totally fine if this is too much trouble or if it turns out to be an impossible ask indeed; thank you in advance anyway! AND THANK YOU AGAIN for introducing me to these brain-rotting books lol I spend like half my waking hours thinking about Armand now.
SHGKJALDS I SPEND HALF MY WAKING HOURS THINKING ABOUT ARMAND TOO SINCE LIKE THE YEAR 2000 LMFAO im so glad you see!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU GET IT MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So babe tbh the reason I started writing Armand/Daniel fic at all is because there really ... isn't that much? And I was like GUESS I GOTTA FUCKIN COOK FOR MYSELF. So tbh I haven't actually read a ton of VC fic at all. The otp:true filter for them on AO3 (excluding TVverse fics) only has 237 fics hdkjgalds but you can start here LOL. I think for the most part you'll be able to tell in the tags if it's post-QOTD because people usually will tag like "post canon" or "Prince Lestat Era"; for QOTD fics check for a Devil's Minion/Devil's Minion Era tag. I don't always remember to tag my own fics but my only post-canon D/A fic is called "In the Trials of the Heart" and all my others are Devil's Minion era and shouldn't spoil anything ! Be aware that the TV fandom and book fandom sometimes overlap so there might be stray TV fics in the book tag; it won't spoil anything bc the TV canon is a completely different story, but it might not make sense if you jump in to read it. So without actual fic recs I'll share some authors that I really trust!! Have a look through their VC fics!!!!!!!
apoptoses (pervert extraordinaire 10/10, all the D/A fics are Devil's Minion era except for Blood Sanation so go nuts!) covenofthearticulate (this is Ash, she actually writes Loustat & Louis/Armand mostly but she's so smart and I trust her so much!!!!) Diabolus_Invictus HekateInHell (writes a lot of Lestat/Armand and also has a human AU called Our House that I'm obsessed with!) ImhereImQuire Nothing_But_Paisley rainandcoffee (if you're sick of all of our doom&gloom you can find fluff and lightness here!) whisperbird (just one VC fic but I think about it every day of my life I love it)
Whenever I remember I try to post VC fics that I do read, kinda like how Sheith fandom does Wednesday Fics, I try to tag #VCFicFriday so try there too!
Anyway if anyone wants to add to this post and share recs PLEASE DO I actually am not a great fic reader bc my attention span sucks and I'm picky about canon compliant porn LOL! But help our new friend out if you want to share any!!!!!!!!!!!!

asoue (which is the mirror world of portal) is connected to twin peaks via the hinge of bookhouse boys being a cut-off branch of vfd (which also exists in gravty falls) (which shares existence with twin peaks because dale cooper is a bus driver there) and similar but unsynchronized time brokenness, which is connected to utena bcause BOB and akio are expressions of the same entity, which is connected to sarazanmai and sailor moon via the ikuharaverse and sk8 the infinity because touga exists there. its simple really

Marvel: *claims a supporting character is openly queer after the fact without showing it in anyway on screen*
DC: *shows a character's bisexuality and isn't afraid to make her the main character of her own show and captain of her own time ship*
Also DC: *isn't afraid to cast trans actors*
Still DC: *showcases that queerness isn't different from straight love by showing queer supporting characters with their own healthy relationships. *
Yep still DC: *Has a show about a lesbian character played by a lesbian actress and is shifting the focus of their TVverse to her and another strong female lead moving forward.
Say what you will about DC or the Arrowverse, but it is safe to admit that they dont shy away from giving the LGBTQA+ representation on screen. I like Marvel, and this is just my opinion, but I disliked it when they pulled a JK Rowling. But again, that's my opinion and I'm opened to having my mind changed about it. Personally, I love John Constantine as a Bi-con. I even have a tattoo of his.

Hi! I love your work so much, and I really really hope it's okay to ask this question. You say that the stories you write use the TV!verse personalities and visuals of the characters (but with fat!Aziraphale obviously), I was wondering if the same goes for Anathema and Liz in INNW? Like do you picture Liz as being the Jack Whitehall version, if she was a woman? I'm not working that very well but I hope it makes sense. Sorry if that's a bad thing to ask. I love your stories, they brighten me up!!
This is an okay question to ask!  The short answer is that in my mental images of INNW characters, everyone looks basically like their TVverse selves.  Aziraphale is the Michael Sheen version except fatter.  Crowley is the David Tennant version except with features slightly skewed toward what’s more common with an estrogen-based bodyplan (smaller hands, less prominent brow).
With Liz, it’s like... imagine that there existed someone who grew up looking exactly like Jack Whitehall, but then realized at some point that actually the doctors made a mistake and she wasn’t a boy at all.  That is Liz.  She’s prrrobably been on HRT for a long time now, same as Crowley’s been on T, but any “she’s a not-medically-transitioned trans woman just like me” headcanons which might be out there are precious and not to be messed with.  She might or might not have gotten facial feminization surgery at some point, same as Crowley got top surgery -- again, I don’t have any need to come down on one side or another when Both Is Good Dot Gif.  (There is nothing wrong with not going on T, either, or with not getting top surgery -- I have not done either.  But I did make a decision on those for Crowley.)
Everyone else looks the same as on TV other than being a couple of years older, which wouldn’t really make a difference except for the kids. [Edit! Correction! I should not answer asks late at night. Also different is that Anathema and Liz are both Crowley's age, approximately 38 at story start.]

I'm so tempted to make Movie Teddy even shorter than TV Teddy
In the TVverse she's already only 150cm/4'11 I think and I'm tempted to make her 10cm shorter in the Movieverse, so 140cm/4'5 again, I think
Is that too ridiculous or seems legit???

juniwonderland replied to your ask post: Thank you @gorogues <3
You are always most welcome :)
Spoilers for this week's Flash issue beyond this point!
belphegor1982 replied to your photo post: "Broome, 1913-1991" - nice nod, but come on, John Broome died in 1999 - and "William Hand, 1864-2012"? I looked him up (it's Black Hand), how the hell did he live that long? (it does look like "1864", not "1964" on that tombstone)
Our good buddy Billy Hand isn't that old; he's contemporary and we saw his parents and siblings before he murdered them, so I'm not sure why he'd have those dates.  I'm puzzled about the John Broome dates too, although it could have been a brainfart on Kolins' part or a slip of the finger when drawing the numbers.  Maybe that also explains the dates on Black Hand's grave too.
belphegor1982 replied to your photo post: Also JJ does seem well on his way to Joker-lite. Were I a religious person I'd say "Lord preserve us from idiot writers in love with grimdark", but since I'm not, I'll just be my Grumpy Smurf self and state that I don't like James beating people with sticks.
Yeah, I don’t know what to say other than it worries me and isn’t what I want to see.  Fingers crossed :\
truxi-twice replied to your photo post: lord have mercy, that is the most 90's.
The most late `90s, yeah.  When I think of peak `90s I think of Extreme Justice and everyone wearing bomber jackets :>  And pouches, of course.
sammysdewysensitiveeyes replied to your photo post: I'd be willing to forgive this nonsense if it all turns out to be a trick, and JJ doesn't actually kill anyone. C'mon. Don't ruin the character, DC. Literally no one who was a fan of JJ was saying, "Wow, I really enjoy this wacky villain, but I wish he was way edgier and more murderous."
Same.  It is entirely possible that this is all being built up to fool the audience about James' goals/motives, and admittedly it'd be a pretty good joke if that's the case...just imagine the revelation of that.  But it's also very possible that none of this is a swerve and it's how Williamson wants to make James a formidable (read: terrifying) villain.  Maybe this is leading exactly where we've been told it's leading, which is to say a violent mastermind that a seasoned cop like Commander Cold is afraid of.  At this point I'm preparing for anything.
I do hope DC's aware that comics James fans aren't interested in TVverse Trickster, but I've got no idea what DC thinks or wants.  Maybe they think we wouldn't mind the change.
Here is an old panel of Black Hand which seems fitting.

He wasn’t a necrophiliac in those days, just a weird guy who liked to spout clichéd aphorisms.

Basic gist here being that Bad Robot’s contract with Paramount was up in 2018, and Paramount is also mid potential re-merger with CBS/Viacom, which would put filmverse and TVverse Trek back together again. Personally, I would hope this means they will assign someone to oversee the franchise and, y’know, actually try to give a fuck about it. But at the moment, nothing will happen until they get their shit together, get some other studios involved for financing, and pay our crew what they deserve to be paid. And hire some decent writers (or Simon, though what is linked there about that was 2 years ago), and burn Orci’s shitty daddy issues script to a crisp.

This needs to stop
Some idiot keeps changing Lucifer's race from 'Angel" to "Demon" on the DC Wikia.  Even the TVverse doesn't claim he's a demon.  Where the Hell did they get this from?!?

I headcanon that Nick didn't fully realize he was in love with Jimmy until season 2.
By season 1, he was very fond of Jimmy, cuz you know, he had guts, cool inventions, all that other good shit. But despite his interest in him, Nick disregarded his feelings as romantic and passed them off as some brotherly affection. He didn't wanna believe he loved Jimmy that way. That's why he was slightly harsh to him in the first season.
As second season hit, the biker jacket wearing motherfucker eventually swallowed his pride (no pun intended) like "Oh fuck it! I'm in love with this boy!!! And it's scary!" Nick rarely interacts with Jimmy, but still builds up courage to speak to him. Sometimes he's shown to be shy around Jimmy whenever he's very close. Nick is just too afraid to make a move, and afraid of himself as well cuz it's a boy he's crushing over, thus ruining his skateboard focus.
Judging by all the crude lgbtphobic humor in this show, no doubt that homophobia doesn't exist in Retroville. Nick is not ready to accept himself unless he knows people would accept him, including the boy he loves. Nick proceeds to laugh at Jimmy's humiliations and pick him last in sports as a method of throwing the dudebros off, to keep them from linking his gayness to said whippy dip munchkin nerd.
Nick is that "GET OUT OF MY SCHOOL" lovesick kid.

Holy crap, Crisis on Earth-X. No live action superhero thing, no not even the Avengers movies, have come as close to capturing to what I love so much about sprawling superhero worlds than this week-long event.
It stands in contrast to Justice League in particular. With Justice League, you just have a guy who’s big and bad and wants to conquer earth because he’s big and bad and the Justice League has to stop them because they’re nice guys with superpowers. Here, we want to care about the characters because it’s building on their past relationships and even makes us care about new relationships that are created within the span of its three-hour runtime. Without wishing to spoil it, there’s an emotional beat in this that no bit in the MCU has touched for me. Granted, a lot of that has to do with how I’ve gotten attached to these characters in a weekly format, but that’s part of the whole appeal of superhero comics to me: I get to come in regularly and see how these characters grow, change, and react to the world around them, even though they remain largely static. It’s a combination of comfort and ever-changing melodrama that drives us to come to them every time.
There’s an excellent use of villainy too. They could have just stood on using nazis as bad guys. The fact that someone is a nazi means they’re well due for a superhero-trouncing, which is something I can’t stand we have to actually state as a controversial opinion that way. However, Crisis on Earth-X doesn’t shy away from why the Nazis were so bad. It goes to great pains to show us not only the horrors of the nazis but also how their atrocities affect each of the characters personally. No one is safe from their horror except for those that buy into their evil. Part three of the event is a downright drag, but I never resented it for that because it showed to me that the shows are committed to what they’ve chosen. If our heroes are to fight the villains of history’s greatest tragedy they are going to damn well show us why they’re fighting them.
There are a few flaws. The CGI gets a little dodgy and in a few points they seem to struggle with what to do with Flash, but honestly it’s exactly what I had hoped the DC TVverse could be. Action and spectacle are important but here it’s the meat and sinew of six years worth of building up a world in a way Marvel movies couldn’t and their TV shows couldn’t be arsed to. The CW TV shows never apologized for being superheroes and this week has given us the heights of a shared universe.
