deeply refreshing to see someone critical of Swift who also like, genuinely likes her. Like i'm neutral to positive on her, but the online discourse has been absolutely rancid. flipping between "Taylor Swift has never done anything wrong ever and she's a fucking genius" and "Taylor Swift is the worst lyricist of all time and also a bad person" is exhausting, so thank you for like. nuance or something lmao
not to make it serious for a sec but i genuinely think that being able to like things that are bad is really important. like I think that it's an important skill to be able to look at something and see what you personally enjoy about it and then take a step back and acknowledge that objectively it's flawed. and to also be able to acknowledge that liking something isn't necessarily an identity or a moral stance. and i think that fandom space in general could really benefit from more people taking the time to learn how to do that. it's okay to like things that are bad
While I do think it's kind of a weird marketing choice for the Sour and Guts albums to seemingly have near-identical aesthetics, I also think swifties have a weird tendency to impose "eras" on every single artist. like sometimes pop artists just want to keep making pop albums that fit the personal aesthetic of who they truly are not everyone wants to completely reinvent themselves and their sound and their vibe every two years xx
Here's a WIP of Folklore!Taylor as a fairy
Posting this in celebration of TTPD release, I wish I couldve gotten it done on time but I've been so busy 🥲
Also I'm trying out a new art style here and I'm really vibing with it!
In our thankful era seeing your faces at Taylor Swift's Eras: The Experience in New York City! Swifties sure know how to throw a house-party for our Apple Music Artist of the Year. Which room are you claiming? 🏠💘
‘I Can Do It With A Broken Heart’ coming right after ‘loml’ was the most ingenious album song placement in Taylor’s entire career. The fact that she went on stage night after night feeling like loml is ABSURD.
The idea that some fans have that the Eras concert film experience should have the same film etiquette as say something like Barbie is wild to me. It’s a concert film that is explicitly encouraging audience participation and not a “serious” piece of cinema that you sit in silence and watch for three hours. Theaters host screenings of concert films and movies that promote audience participation all the time so it’s not like this is something they’re not prepared for. As long as you’re not constantly screeching and invading the space of the people around you, there shouldn’t be any issues; just follow the vibe that’s been set and be respectful.
i am SO upset about what happened in rio last night, no one can control a heatwave but the venue does have air vents that help keep the stadium somewhat chill, however, they chose to cover these air vents so people couldn’t watch the show from the outside, making the thermal sensation around 60°C (like 140°F)
not only that, but water was prohibited, you couldn’t take inside any bottles or other recipients containing liquids which, while it’s a common rule in stadiums (although it should not be), it does not make it any less inhumane considering the on going heatwave and how hard it was to get water inside the stadium, there were not any accessible fountains and a 350ml bottle costed around $35. it was taylor herself and her team who had to look out for the fans handing out as many water bottles as they possibly could.
brazilian fans are not asking for much, they simply want to be able to enjoy a concert without fearing for their lives, thousands of people have fainted and ana benevides, a 23 year old woman, passed away tonight before the show had even started. her death and all the fainting that happened could have been avoided if only the venue and the show producers had taken some precautions. water should NEVER be forbidden in stadiums, it is something we literally need to survive, especially when it is very hot outside
i fear this will be one of the last times (if not the final) taylor will trust another company with the well being of her fans and crew because every single time she does it they mess up and she has to clean after their mess. my heart and thoughts go out to everyone affected by this situation, and especially ana benevides’ family, friends and loved ones 🤍
