Happy 14th Anniversary, Xenoblade Chronicles.

Just finished Future Redeemed, and decided to draw best boy and protagonist in Nintendo History, Rex. wielding the blades of his wives, three sword style, like he should (With five different styles because I couldn’t decide which was the best one)!

I finally got around to finishing the second drawing in this duo so time to post more random au/crossover stuff...

Tried to experiment a bit with how to present traditional art again... And man, I don't think I've ever drawn Pyra and Mythra's armor properly but it was just as complex as I figured it would be even simplifying stuff a bit. Also it's altered for the boys here ofc. Sorry but I chose not to draw Yuki or Utsuro with boob windows lol. Mythra's outfit was a lot harder to modify/genderbend, I don't think I like it quite as much as Pyra's for Yuki but oh well.

They're still missing part of their core crystal here, Tsurugi has the other piece like Rex in-game. And he'd be their driver ofc. Cause, you know, reviving your partner via god powers and then having your lives tied together and all that.

don't think I would make Tsurugi a Rex equivalent tho, or at least not a salvager haha. He's probably from Mor Ardain or something like that. Rex and Tsurugi are way too incompatible in terms of character traits for that lmao. Imagine Tsurugi rattling of the salvager's code or complaining about 'gramps' yeah no that's not working for me (would be funny to draw him in the diving suit though).

I won't spoil too much but if you have played Xenoblade 2 you might see the connections between the two duos I saw. Beyond the uh, main obvious one lol. For example, Mythra and Utsuro creating a 'better' version of themselves in Pyra and Yuki, who have a lot less of their cosmically disastrous power, and personalities they consider to be superior or easier to deal with.

Also, the power of the Aegis is highly coveted by many in Alrest, similar to how divine luck is in DRA/SDRA2, and Pyra/Yuki hover under the radar more in that regard.

p.s. Yamato would probably be Addam. Or possibly Zeke because Yuki, Utsuro, and Tsurugi probably need some sort of protagonist energy to carry them along cause Tsurugi is not gonna be doing the whole hope and friendship power thing like Rex lol. Not sure about the rest but maybe Akane and Nia could fit well.

We need to talk more about how the trinity processor are doomed siblings.

Just like, PyraMythra and Malos being forced into a situation where they are enemies from the moment they are awakened.

The fact that Alvis disappeared into another dimension for so long where he can’t reach them.

When the worlds finally combine again, Malos is dead, and the Endless Now fucks something up in Ontos so now he’s enemies with Rex, and presumably Pyra and Mythra too.

They don’t get a chance to meet A before the worlds have to separate again. Even if it’s only temporary.

Which Titans were sunk by the Aegis?

500 years before the events of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the Aegis War took place, the events of which are shown in Torna: The Golden Country, the DLC campaign for the game. It is said that during the war, the Aegis, a particularly powerful Blade, was responsible for sinking three Titans to beneath the Cloud Sea that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is set on. Which Titans exactly however? Major spoilers for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Torna: The Golden Country follow.

The fact that three Titans were sunk by the Aegis is first made clear during a play seen in Chapter 4, made clear via a play that recounts the events of the Aegis War. There, the following is stated:

"Thus, they defeated the darkness. But at a terrible price! Three great continents sank below the sea of clouds forever."

The Aegis is also depicted as being responsible for banishing three monsters, likely stand-ins for the Titans that form the continents of Xenoblade Chronicles 2's world.

Visually, the Aegis in the play resembles Mythra.

This makes sense as she, along with her alter ego Pyra, is considered an Aegis, as her Core Crystal was found in Elysium where the Architect of the world resides. However, she is not the only Aegis, as her adversary during the Aegis War, Malos, came from the same place. Malos is also the one who gave himself the title of Aegis in the first place as seen in Torna: The Golden Country.

This shows that the play is playing fast and loose with the events of the Aegis War, as Malos was responsible for sinking one of the three Titans during the war. As explained during the introduction of Torna: The Golden Country:

"The 107th Indoline Preator, Rhadallis… had sent an armed expedition against the country of Coeia. Its capital, Omrantha, fell overnight… and sank beneath the clouds, along with the rest of the Titan. […] In fact, it had been the work of one Blade. The Aegis, a man known as Malos."

The play would have one believe Mythra was responsible for sinking all three continents, but this is not true. This could be chalked up to historical corruption, except that the writer of the play, Cole, was around during the war. Perhaps the truth is being obscured deliberately due to those in power during Xenoblade Chronicles 2 itself, but that topic falls outside the scope of this post.

Mythra herself is responsible for sinking the Titan Torna at the end of Torna: The Golden Country due to losing control of her powers and trying to take out Malos for good. This accounts for two of the Titans, but what about the third?

This is actually explained during Xenoblade Chronicles 2 instead of Torna: The Golden Country, though it was lost in translation. In Chapter 5, Malos says that he sunk Temperantia, which is a Titan that bears many scars:

ああ500年前俺とヒカリが沈めた国だ Yeah, the country me and Hikari [Mythra] sunk 500 years ago.

Temperantia is still floating on the Cloud Sea in the present, so it may be that what is considered "sunken" in the game is a bit loose. Perhaps the Titan did die during the Aegis War but it stayed afloat atop the Cloud Sea, instead of sinking to beneath it like Torna and presumably Coeia did. But those are the three Titans sunk in the war: Coeia, Torna and Temperantia.

there's also very little jealousy between the three girls! and whenever there's a bit of jealousy, there's hardly any tension, as the jealous ones – mythra and nia – usually just end up teasing each other, until all four of you just laugh about it together!

while you love to tease and annoy each other at times, all four of you always stick together! you're ready to protect your three girlfriends and they are ready to protect you as well!

you're also great at communicating! while mythra and nia struggle with it a little at first, they soon learn to get comfortable about their feelings and voicing their thoughts to you!

❤️Aegis Tickle Headcanons💛

This is my first time doing something like this. I've become familiar with how these types of headcanons work, and I want to share my ideas on Pyra and Mythra's lee and ler personalities, so hope you enjoy! ^^

Pyra

(Ler)

A very gentle and playful ler

Always willing to tickle somdone after they've had a bad day and need cheering up

Will often use pet names while tickling the lee

Will give her lee lots of praise and coo at the lee for their reactions during the tickling. Example: "Aww!~ Look at you! Your laugh is so cute, I want to hear more of it!~"

"Coochie coochie coo~" is her favorite tease to use

Her favorite methods of tickling are blowing gentle raspberries/ or nuzzling onto the lee's neck and slow scribbles on their tummy

Will instantly stop whenever her lee says stop, even if they don't really means it, as she wants to be mindful of the person's well being

After tickling, her aftercare method is snuggling the lee, giving a last few teasing squeezes on the their sides for good measure

All it takes is wiggling fingers to get Pyra into a flustered lee mood

Wants to ask for tickles but she's too embarrassed to do so

Always will squeal when someone goes for her stomach

Her other worst spot is her ribs, even a few pokes on that spot can bring her into hysterics quickly

She'll rarely say stop, since for the most part she enjoys being tickled and wants the ler to have fun, but when she says stop, she means STOP

Verbal teases always make her blush

Unlike Pyra, Mythra tends to be more on the rough side of her ler moods

If you ever get on her bad side, good luck, you'll definitely be in for a LOT of tickling, Mythra can run pretty fast, so it's no use running away from her either

Will tickle the lee until she's completely satisfied, it heavily depends on her mood and what the person has done to make her tickle them

She's the type to pretend that she's done with the tickling, then a few seconds she'll give you that ler smirk, and say, "Ahahawww~ You thought I was finished with you? Oh no no, I'm FAR from done with tickling you, my lee!~" Then go on tickling the lee again (Again, depends on her mood)

Very good at teasing and mocking her lee

"Did I find a sweet spot?~" she'll say as she smirks at her lee, stroking that exact spot with her fingers, and then continue with her tickling

Her favorite tickling technique is using her long hair as a tickle tool. It has proven to be hella tickly due to its soft nature, and it's very effective on the lee's neck or feet

After knowing the lee is ticklish, Mythra will often use that to her advantage to tease or threaten the lee if she feels they need to be tickled

SPOILER ALERT: Mythra is basically a walking tickle spot

"Pfft! Ticklish? Seriously, that's ridiculous!"

If you try to tickle her, she'll quickly swat your hand away, and will quickly take the upper hand and pin you down

The best way to get to tickle her is to sneak behind her and attack her spots

She's a very squirmy lee

Her confidence and tough demeanor is gone once you start tickling her, she'll instead be howling with laughter, begging for mercy

"STHAHAHAP, OHOHOR EHEHELSE IHIHIHI'LL-"

Her most ticklish spots are her feet and thighs (warning, she will kick if her lers try to attack those areas)

Verbal teasing also make her weak when tickled, especially "Tickle tickle tickle!"

After her ler has stopped, she'll always quietly mutter something like, "That was nothing… I'm sure you could've done better than that" even if she's been tickled to tears

Might make a tickle art of one of or both of the two blades. I'm not too sure yet, but we'll seee

This time, it's time to see if the fist is stronger than the sword. It's the Aegis, Pyra and Mythra vs. the leader of the Crystal Gems, Garnet.

Man, I love all the little hints from before Zeke joins the party that show that he's not actually a bad guy or an antagonist, most of them I only really noticed upon revisiting scenes. Just to list some examples off the top of my head:

The most obvious one is probably the part where he grabs Turters from Pyra instead of, well, grabbing Pyra. I say this is the most obvious because Rex actually points out the fact that Zeke just grabbed his turtle when he easily could have grabbed Pyra and Nia simply brushes it off as Zeke being an idiot

In both the first and second encounter, when Zeke goes to use his Ultimate Lightning Fury Slash, he doesn't actually hit the party with the move, they take no damage from it. He simply wanted to show off his cool move. (And then they both backfired but that's irrelevant to the current conversation)

In the second encounter when Nia asks him about his eyepatch, Zeke starts talking about the Eye of Shining Justice and how it's power must be used to save all of humanity one day. Yeah, talking about saving all of humanity doesn't really sound like something a villainous bad guy would talk about.

This point isn't really super substantial, but in the second encounter when Zeke and Pandoria are running away from the boulder, we get the first instance where we hear him refer to Pandoria as Pandy. And sure, it's possible for villains to have cute little nicknames for their partners even if they are evil, but at the very least I feel like this does show a bit of a softer side for Zeke and I wanted to mention it.

We can also see that softer side in the first encounter with Turters. Yeah, just Turters as a whole. Again, it's entirely possible for villains to have beloved mascots/pets that they adore, but it does still show a bit of a softer side for Zeke.

I haven't really mentioned the third encounter simply because it's pretty much right before the reveal that Zeke isn't really a bad guy, but I do think it is fair to mention how Zeke sort of drops the villainous persona and does act a bit more friendly towards the group. He refers to Rex as 'chum' even before the fight, he greets Nia when she calls him Shellhead without any argument, overall he just seems more chill I guess while also being more serious? It's hard to describe. BUT, he's no longer trying to 'steal the Aegis' and yeah, he straight up says that he's here to see how strong Rex is which I think also adds to why Rex himself comes to the conclusion that Zeke isn't a bad guy.

Another main point I find really neat is how a lot of Zeke's failed attempts at seeming like a genuine threat end up coming across as him just being an incompetent bandit rather than the skilled Driver and genuinely good person that he actually is. Again, him grabbing Turters instead of Pyra and his failed attacks on the party cause Nia to call him an idiot when in reality, he was never actually trying to get his hands on the Aegis or seriously harm the party, he was just keeping an eye on the Aegis and her Driver.

Again, I just love this character a lot and when you get obsessed with a character, you will over analyze every aspect of that character to the point of possibly seeming insane lol. Like, there's so much more about Zeke that I have over analyzed and obsessed over but if I went into every little detail we'd be here all day.
