Hey, does anyone know when the Convergence mod devs think their mod will be updated for the DLC? (Not as in they overhauled the dlc, just that the Ocnvergence mod is compatible with it.)
Cause as much as Reforged WAS my preferred mod, most of the "New Content" the devs for that have made were not very fun. So I wanna switch over.
I like the idea of making enemy camps force you off of Torrent, but when their changed to Redmane castle, the underground rooms usually containing a single talisman, and spirit springs needing to be unlocked. (A thing I actually liked more when the devs did it for the dlc ironically) i hated those.

Concept art of The Convergence by Panthera Arven!
In my series/saga/thingy, there's a place called Aetheria; a seven layered realm that encompasses the two god realms (Apex/Abyss), the two afterlife locations (Beyond/Void), the two "dream" realms (Dark Depths/Sanctuary), and then the inner most section called the Convergence. The levels go as such:
Apex
Beyond
Santuary
Convergence
Dark Depths
Void
Abyss
Though spatially it's more like an interdimensional donut, where the sky of the Abyss and the Apex are the same. In other words, if you look up in the Apex you will be looking down into the Abyss, and vice versa. There's no definitive connector, so you can't tunnel up through the realms or anything, but they are all connected via portals at the center of each region.
The island in the center has a pond in the center of its crater, where you can look down into the Dark Depths (which is like a massive underground chamber of sorts). However, if you climb up the roots to the middle, you can access another portal/pond to the Sanctuary.
The middle three sections of Aetheria are the only ones to have definitive locations.
As for the Convergence itself, that pink/purple mist is known as the Misty Gates (original I know) and forms a barrier that only those of supernatural origin (deceased, gods, precursors) can pass through. A mortal will just end up coming out somewhere else along the top of the crater. The walls of the crater (as well as the slopes of the island) start tropical and warm near the shoreline but become colder and coniferous the higher you go. In the walls of the crater edge, you can find access to the Network (which is the portal connector across my universe). This means you can enter Aetheria with your mortal body, but you have to get out the same way. Which means a trip though the Farlands.
And no one wants to deal with that.
Fun Fact!
The overall feel of the Convergence is based on Crater Lake National Park in Oregon State, but is slightly scaled down with a total area of 20 sq miles.

I did not think it was possible to take a selfie with flash, but apparently it is (ouch).
This reminded me a little of the skulls at the Monster Association, so I took a picture. I’m at MeowWolf in Denver.

Both of these are manga caps but the one on the left, I took from this very thorough YouTube video from Zhon’in, which is a good refresher for why the subterranean people are such cool characters- not just their history but the way they are utilized narratively.

Have any of you ever heard of the hummingbird moths we get in Britain?
So, I thought I saw a hummingbird last year. It was much bigger than a bug could be, I thought, and it hovered around flowers and looked like it had feathers.
I got pretty close but it was never still enough to see clearly. Then, when I told my parents they said "oh! it was probably a moth!" and I was baffled for a long time. Like, how could a moth look like and act so much like a hummingbird?
Until I googled "hummingbirds in the UK" and this fucker comes up:

Everyone, meet the hummingbird hawk-moth; one of the weirdest and coolest cases of convergent evolution on this planet.
This is the kinda thing I'd see in fiction and go "oooh cool, bug hummingbird! Wish we had those on earth!" But we do. We really do have them on earth!! Isn't that nuts?!?!?

Humans are a bad influence
Human: It really is an amazing coincidence...
Ztsaxhi: Hey guys, the food replicator glitched out and gave me way more food than it should. Want some? It's kind of like human "chips."
Käfavayarlop: Is it safe for my species?
Ztsaxhi: Let me check... no poisons but...oh damn, the food guide says it has capsaicin that's painful for you. Sorry.
Human: Ooh, Let me have some then!
Ztsaxhi: Go ahead.
Käfavayarlop: But wait, weren't we just saying that Käfavayarlopen and humans have weirdly similar taste buds—
Human *bites into chip*: Wow! Hggh, that is— REALLY spicy! You were not kidding about capsaicin.
Ztsaxhi: Are you okay?
Human: Fine! It's actually good, I swear. *eats the rest of the chip*
Käfavayarlop: Your face is turning red.
Human: Yeah, capsaicin does cause pain, that's the spiciness, but it's a good kind of pain. It adds to the flavor. *takes another chip*
Ztsaxhi: So "spiciness" is just pain?
Human: Kind of. It's—It's an acquired taste.
Käfavayarlop: ...I want to try.
Ztsaxhi: No!
Human: Let them! Though I will warn you this is not beginner friendly.
Käfavayarlop: *bites* Sacred Gonork! My mouth is on fire!
Human: You good?
Käfavayarlop: No. *takes another bite*
Ztsaxhi: No, don't keep eating it!
Käfavayarlop: But it's good.
Human: Is bovine milk safe for them? We probably need it.
Ztsaxhi: I'll check, yes it is. Wait, is this what all those jokes about humans pairing Ztsaxhi cuisine with milk are about?
Human: Yeah, it helps with the pain.
Ztsaxhi: Why would you even eat food that hurts you?
Human and Käfavayarlop: It's an acquired taste.

I HATE THE CARCINISATION MEME THING, IT'S NOT SOME KIND OF UNIVERSAL BIOLOGICAL LAW THAT HAPPENS TO ALL ANIMALS, IT ONLY HAPPENS IN SOME SELECT GROUPS OF CRUSTACEANS (THAT ARE CLOSELY RELATED TO CRABS ANYWAYS), THERE ARE MORE INTERESTING EXAMPLES OF CONVERGENT EVOLUTION TO DISCUSS, AND IT'S JUST NOT FUNNY. WE DON'T TALK ABOUT ALL THE EXAMPLES OF FILTER FEEDERS OR WORM LIKE CREATURES LIKE THAT DO WE. IT'S BECAUSE SOME BRITISH GUY MADE A STUPID JOKE AND EVERYONE RAN WITH IT.
LANCELOT ALEXANDER BORRADAILE YOU HAVE NO IDEA THE HARM YOU HAVE CAUSED ME PERSONALLY.
