D’Ya know what, I’m low-key obsessed with this book.

I mean … it’s not perfect or even exceptional writing or lyrical and enchanting but I like the FMC she hasn’t done anything TSTL yet … lmao and the MMC is a bit clueless but it’s chalked down to the fact that the Vampires have a whole different culture I guess !?

It can be just so freaking cute, lighthearted, funny, sweet and spicy and cool all at the same time. I am honestly hooked, I love it !!!

So I don’t know if it’s just the ‘paranormal’ aspect of this book but it feels a lot like a shifter-romance or even alien-romance that I forget it’s actually meant to be vampire x human romance book.

And this is narrated by ‘Amber Black’ but it’s sooo weird she sounds just like ‘Amanda Ronconi” who narrates Half-Moon Hollow and other Molly Harper books. Not a bad thing just … idk kinda cool I guess because Molly’s books are always sprinkled with humour throughout so hopefully this book will be similar in that way.

A good start though I like both the FMC and the MMC but it’s early days as I’m only on the 3rd chapter !!!

Had a really lovely conversation with a patron @ work today and it left me with really big feelings about libraries, the people who work in them, and the people who use them. I feel like whenever people think of libraries they automatically think of books, and I get it. But having worked in a public library for so long now I can't help but associate them with people. I wouldn't even rank books in the top 3 most important things about libraries tbh. Maybe 4th. Maybe 5th.

The patron I spoke with today had been waiting in line before I spotted him and walked over to help. I had just left the staff area and saw that 3 coworkers were already heavily involved helping other patrons. When this man walked up to me I didn't know if I would be dealing with someone who was indifferent to having had to wait, or someone who was cranky about it. Past experiences would say those are the only 2 options. So I was shocked when he walked up to me and nodded his head in the direction of all my busy coworkers and said "I love how you all help people here. It's my favorite library." He then talked about how he had been coming to our branch since the 70s and how we've always been his favorite library.

It was such a delightful interaction, and I shared it with as many people as I could. Everyone I work with deserved to hear what he had to say. Everyone needed to be reminded that what we do matters. It isn't about books. It's about people.

my new daily schedule is like. wake up whenever jiwon gets up to go to work, which is sometimes like 5:30 in the morning, stay awake for a few hours usually until the 7:30-8:30 am range, stare at the ceiling and wonder if i should try rly hard to go to sleep now or let it consume me in the late afternoon, get up, do fuck all for the entire day which includes studying korean, knitting, watching dimension 20, and taking a nap, wait for jiwon to come back, cook dinner, do dishes, annoy jiwon for two or three hours, get railed, and go to sleep at like 11:45 pm
