Part one of sharing songs of small artists that I really love: Today, two songs that hold a very special little place in my playlists:
TW for cancer
THE ROOP with 'Simple Joy'
THE ROOP is a Lithuanian band from Vilnius who participated in 2021's Eurovision Song Contest with their song 'Discoteque'. To me, their songs are always so cheerful and uplifting. 'Simple Joy' is one of their newest songs and it made me value the little things in life and told me that your life just has to be enough for yourself.
Cat Janice with 'Dance you outta my head'
Cat Janice is a young mother who is currently fighting her battle against cancer and all the revenues from this song go directly to her seven year old son. Despite these circumstances, this song is so uplifting and just a bop to listen to. And while listening to it, you can also support her and her son.

Eurovision Fact #467:
Tumblr media
Lithuania's representives for 2021, The Roop, garnered popularity in their country by participating in Lithuania's national final for Eurovision Pabandom iš naujo! in 2018.
That year, the band earned a respectable 3rd place. But, upon their return to the contest in 2020, they placed first, and managed to do so again in 2021 after the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest was cancelled.
At Eurovision, the group finished 4th in their semi-final and 8th overall.

Favorite Song From Each Country! Part 33/37: Lithuania!
Lithuania has really flown under the radar for me in the timeframe I gave myself. But like other countries that I've went over (which I can say because we're running out of countries!), when they send good entries, they're...*good*. Plus, they get bonus points for one of the funniest entries with "We Are The Winners" in 2006...where...well...I'll let you figure that out.
Favorite Entry: Now, while in some cases it may seem like it, I really have nothing against artists trying to return and beat their old result. It really helps if the song is good, if not better than the entry they sent before. Enter Monika Linkyte with "Stay" this year. She had participated with Vaidas Baumila in 2015 with "This Time," and by the looks of it, is the first artist to return ON THE ESC STAGE from that year (not counting Stig Rästa's songwriting adventures as he wasn't the performer. Plus this is just a fun fact I noticed with no reliable source, if I'm wrong feel free to correct me). And this song is so beautiful and vastly different from "This Time." (which finished 18th in the final but 26th in my ranks). It's one of those that I would 100% listen to in the middle of the night. So, do your Čiūto Tūtos today! RANK: 11th in 2023 Grand Final/PERSONAL RANK: 9th of 37 Countries
Previous Favorite Entry: I'm going to bring up the best way to open Eurovision after 2020 was cancelled due to the pandemic. The Roop's "Discoteque" opened the first Semi-Final and in the best way possible. The way "dance alone" was repeated and the opening line "Okay, I feel the rhythm." was just perfect to open the 2021 contest and I don't think any other song would have done as good as an opener. This song is pure fun. If I were to ever make a party playlist (which I have thought about), this song would likely be one of the first Eurovision songs in there. It proves that when Lithuania sends good entries, they're *good.* RANK: 8th in 2021 Grand Final/PERSONAL RANK: 12th of 39 Countries
