HI. so i watched TATBILB: A&F a few weeks ago, and I have some words. Before I begin, i'd like to preface that i'm literally 17 and have no film experience, and that I've read this book once maybe 4 years ago but here it is.

ps. if you haven't gotten it already: there will be spoilers. Heavy spoilers.

first of all, i'm sorry but i really didn't like the little edit things. Maybe I've reached that point in my life where I don't f with that anymore. Like when theres a drawn house and it slowly fades so it's real life?? no thanks

the music choice... I honestly didn't have that big of a problem with it, but my korean friend kept going "wtf is this music choice" so i'm quoting her on that.

the filming and editing. well maybe it's just me but I didn't really like it. yk when you're watching a youtuber and they do those zoom in things and it's sort of fast and funny? I think there were a few times the movie did that and i didn't like it.

literally, lara jean looking directly into the camera?? it feels like it's breaking the 4th wall and maybe they're doing it to be edgy but no thanks i didn't like that either.

WHY???? Her breaking the 4th wall added NOTHING to the movie. It just took me out of the experience. I especially didn’t like it when they did it in PS I still love you when they temporarily broke up.

THEY SET THE MOVIE IN OREGON. WHAT WAS THE REASON. THE BOOK WAS SET IN VA, AND I LIVE IN VA SO I FELT A CONNECTION TO THE BOOK. AND THEN THEY GO AND SET IT IN OREGON. WHAT. WAS. THE. REASON

OREGON DIDN’T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE COLLEGES. THEY’RE STILL PRETTY FAR AWAY FROM STANFORD. IN THE BOOK, UVA WAS CLOSE BY SO LJ WOULDN’T HAVE TO BE TOO FAR AWAY FROM HOME. NO OFFENSE TO THE STATE BUT WHY OREGON. THEY COULD OF PUT THEM IN CALI AT LEAST

ONE OF THE REASONS WHY LJ WANTED TO GO TO UVA IS BECAUSE HER FAMILY WOULD BE CLOSE BY. BY PUTTING THEM IN OREGON, YOU TAKE AWAY THAT REASON. i just want to 👊 whoever’s idea this was

FURTHERMORE: THEY CHANGED UVA AND UNC TO STANFORD AND NYU. I AM INFURIATED. THE WHOLE POINT WAS THAT THEY WANTED TO GO TO UVA BECAUSE IT WAS LIKE 10 MINS FROM WHERE THEY LIVED AND IT'S A STATE SCHOOL. LARA JEAN FELT LIKE THE WAS GAURANTEED TO GO TO UVA AND WHEN SHE DOESNT, IT ACTUALLY HURTS THE READERS.

in the book, LJ was waitlisted from UNC, rejected from UVA, and accepted to W&M. I’m sure you can find like 40 people at our school who can relate to this situation. I doubt 40 people in our school can relate to being rejected from Stanford BUT accepted to NYU. dear writers, please give teens across the nation (your target audience) realistic expectations for college admissions.

DON’T GET ME STARTED ON THE KISSING BOOTH. ELLE AND NOAH ARE POSSIBLY THE DUMBEST CHARACTERS I HAVE EVER WATCHED. I DON’T SEE THEM DO A PAGE OF HOMEWORK AND I DON’T EVEN THINK THEY ATTEND CLASS. LIKE MAKING A KISSING BOOTH FOR ONE FUNDRAISER FOR A CLUB THAT CONSISTS OF 2 PEOPLE DOES NOT COUNT AS ENOUGH TO GET INTO HARVARD. but that’s a different movie...

this is literally the idea that television and movies have in making it super easy to get into ivy leauges. as if some in state college isn't up to society's standards of where or where not it's ok to go to college. it's when gabriella montez goes to stanford, troy goes to berkely, ryan evan goes to julliard, teddy duncan goes to yale, cody martin is accepted to princeton, HANNAH MONTANA does to stanford.

and lara jean wants to study english lit. she never says “i want to go to stanford because of their great english lit program”. it’s only “i want to go to stanford because my boyfriend is going and i have no other life outside of him

fine. make your characters seem awesome by making them go to awesome colleges. but still. this is upseting.

you know how awesome it is to hear UVA, the college I've always wanted to go to, in a published book? and for them to just rip it away- espeically when UVA is so attainable?? Yea yea movie directors, i get it, UVA isn't good enough for you. whatever.

They had AT LEAST 5 MONTAGES. 5. FIVE. WHO NEEDS THAT MANY MONTAGES. To quote my friend "the movie is all montage and 30 mins of plot" AND I CAN'T FIND IT IN MYSELF TO DISAGREE WITH HER.

AND THE DANCES. I REALLY DIDN’T NEED TO SEE NOAH CENTINEO DO WHATEVER HE CALLS “DANCING” IN 2 MONTAGES. I know everyone fell in love with noah in the first movie, but i’m pretty sure everyone fell out of love with him in this one.

again, i know nothing about movies, but 5 montages?? it seems like you're just filling space and trying to make everything seem ✨awesome✨ and ✨amazing✨. SURE. everything might be awesome and amazing, but this movie was 1 HR AND 55 MINS. and you decided to add 1 HR of montages? WHy. AND. one of them was in slowmo. i can't

THEY HAD VOICE OVERS THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE MOVIE. sure. 1 at the begin and 1 at the end, I think that's cute. BUT THE WHOLE MOVIE?? WHY. like bruh- have a focus.

literally did anyone read the freaking book? Remember how- in the book right? Margot was actually really not ok with Trina bc she's sort of replacing their mom? and Margot is rlly not ok with it but gets over it?? see how that was summarized in like 5 seconds in the movie? Oh i'm sorry you used all your time for the movie making STUPID MONTAGES but can we get some actually emotionally beats next time?? thanks.

ok this is a big problem i have with the movie. in the 3rd book, peter tries to have a relationship with his dad who ran away from him years ago. He struggles with that relationship the whole book. This is good stuff. people can relate to this. the scene in the diner where peter “confronts” his dad was CRINGEY. It could be noah’s acting but i couldn’t take him seriously. AND HE FORGIVES HIS DAD AFTER 30 SECONDS. the movie tries to include these smaller storylines but can’t because of the time limit. i’m no screenwriter, but i’m sure there could have been a way to subtly move that plot line during the entire movie rather than that one conversation in the diner

and in the book, peter has to train for lacrosse so he has to eat healthy which stresses him out. i specifically remember him getting mad at someone (maybe it was john ambrose, i don’t remember fully) for EATING HIS CARROTS. this just shows that peter has a life too. he has to worry about lacrosse along with losing lj. but no, the movie makes him look like the perfect boyfriend who has no other worries in life except for the girl in front of him

remember how- in the book (right?? bc they had a book to go off of???) Stormy was a part of the 3rd book? like a BIG part?? They LITEALLY just used her as John Ambrose's grandmother (WHICH IM PRETTY SURE THEY DIDN'T EVEN DO IN THE MOVIES). literally, stormy and john ambrose were throw away characters in the second movie and i am infurriated. BUT ALSO I LOVE JOHN AMBROSE HOW COULD THEY DO THIS TO HIM??

and remember, how in the book, how the dog's name is "Jamie Fox-Pickle" and they changed it to HENRY??? where is the flavor. what was the reason. SERIOUSLY.

BUT ALSO. CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG BUT THERE WAS A POINT IN THE PLOT WHERE PETER'S MOM TOLD LARA JEAN TO BREAK UP WITH PETER. DOES NO ONE ELSE REMEBER THAT?? AND THEY CUT IT ALL OUT OF THE SCRIPT?? LIKE WHY. WHAT WAS THE REASON.

ok those are my biggest book grievances I think. but lemme just say, they NEVER went to NEW YORK. They literally wrote that in for the purposes of NYU. in the book, Chris and Lara Jean DRIVE to UNC because that's ATTAINABLE. BC THEY'RE STATE UNIVERSITIES. ANYWAYS

LJ’s and Chris’s spontaneous trip to unc showed their friendship in a good way. I never really liked chris as a friend to lj but during the trip, they are besties and it shows. the movie tries to do that in ny but peter is also in ny for some reason. she should have fell in love with ny WITHOUT peter at her side nagging her to sneak out and go on a date. she should have spent more time with chris rather than thinking about peter while she was watching the band.

the scene where Lara Jean is in New York and at the party and she sees the band? To all the boys I've loved before: Always and forever?? more like To all the boys I've loved before: gay awakening time.

when they moved the pink couch to the subway? WHy? They wanted snazzy pics.

when Lara Jean and Peter were making up and it was a really cute sequence AND THEN THEY MADE HER LOSE HER V CARD. FINE. I GET HOW THAT'S REALISTIC BUT IT WAS A CUTE SCENE. MY FRIEND ALMOST STARTED CRYING AND THEN LJ LOST HER V CARD AND WE COULDN'T STOP SCREAMING.

this is different from what was in the book (for the 100th time). In the book, they don’t do it and it shows that you can be in a high school relationship without being physical. I strongly appreciate that message. This darn movie had to have her lose her v card. WHY. IT ADDED NOTHING TO THEIR RELATIONSHIP. THE YEARBOOK SIGNING WAS SYMBOLIC ENOUGH

the montage where it's a montage of all of lara jean's and peter's cute moments?? ok fine. that was cute. but they literally just took scenes from past movies. imagine the impact if we like hidden moments from their relationships. maybe they're laughing in the car together. maybe they're watching they sunset. maybe peter is looking at her lovingly while she sleeps. WHAT IF. it WASN'T a montage of all the "bigger" moments of their relationship, and we got to see them just exist.

Some redeemable qualities

while i didn't like most of the songs, "like me better" by lauv will always be loved. especially since it's a call back from the first movie?? I can ftw

WHY WASN’T “LIKE ME BETTER” THEIR SONG???? I really thought it was a good song to be their song and they referenced it in the beginning. No offense to the “beginning middle and end” people, but i felt no attachment to that song.

they customized her phone. it looked like it was a 7 (idk rlly, i don't know crap abt iphones) but they customized it. Granted, I KNOW lara jean would be the one with the aesthetic background with color coded folder, but still- they did give her relevant apps. some to note include; tiktok, spotify, instagram, netflix, notes, messages, facetime, maps, whatsapp and the STANFORD APP?? whatever- i'm chill.

they did make lara jean make choices so that was good.

the prom ask?? That was cute. with the pancakes??

at the end when Peter played the song even though earlier he didn't like it?? I liked that. i liked that a lot. ok fine i more than liked that a lot. There are multiple texts where my friends are screaming at each other. In fact, 26 separate messages.

chris in general. granted, she was more present in the books, but i'll take what i can get.

again, these are all just my opinion. my friend doesn't like the movie bc she says she's sad and bitter and seeing these cute couples makes her feel lonely but i'm just diappointed. the books were GOOD. they were gold.

there was so much they could’ve done with the movies, and i just feel like they didn’t deliver on anything. Jenny Han, i’m sorry. The movie overall, ik someone who cried about it and someone else who gave it 7/10. props for them but jeez i just wish for more.

In the past couple days, its been really nice to have both places of work be considerate enough to give me the time off. 

I just put my cat down yesterday after she declined severely. The days before that were terrible. I was short tempered and agitated she couldn’t shut up or use the litter box. I did everything from putting a baby gate in the walk in closet or bathing her to get rid of the smell after deep cleaning my carpets. I was so frustrated and annoyed. 

And then the last bath ruined her leg because she slipped. And it didn’t pop back in right. She was 16 and fragile. Already a year into barbiturates because of 3 known seizures. She had to be shaved because she couldn’t clean herself. There was matting everywhere. 

I made it right the last day when I realized she was showing signs of decay. She likely had dementia - ghosting over the waterfowl and yowling despite it being fresh / full - and unable to walk across the apartment to get to the litter box. She was lethargic and quiet. I spent the entire afternoon consoling her with pets and affection. 

Even on the way to the vet, she never made a peep. She settled right next to me and dropped her head in my hand. She didn’t even have the energy to lick me. She must’ve been so weak because she passed within no more than like 10 seconds after the injection. 

I was with her to the very end. I refused to leave for work and risk having her die alone or suffering. That was the best $200 I spent to ensure she passed away peacefully and painlessly. I’m bringing her cremated remains back today or tomorrow. 

It still sucked. For all those times I wished she had given me a reason to euthanize her because of all the messes and lost sleep she caused, to actually do it was heart wrenching. 16 years she spent, the last 10 with us after adoption, and the last 4 with me after my mother move. 

I wasn’t the most patient with her but I didn’t quit on her. I paid for extensive vet bills and expensive meds. I got a carpet cleaner to remedy the messes she made. I made her comfortable with new beds in places she could reach. I bought her expensive food in accordance to her limited diet. Yes, I yelled and picked her up by the scruff because she had a habit of peeing on me when she knew she did something naughty, but I loved her and she always forgave me. I wasn’t mad at her forever. I made it up to her after I calmed down. 

It wasn’t like she’d ever return to her prime years. She was aging and limited mobility. She was already declining but the last 3 days was just excessive. It was hours between accidents instead of days. She refused to eat or drink. Then her leg popped and she didn’t want to move anymore. She shivered and trembled and I knew she was in pain. There was only so much I could do, so I had to make that call, and mom was kind enough to drive us last minute to the 24-hr vet on a Sunday. 

I forgot how hard grief hit me because it never gets easier. I was throwing up after holding back the sobs, screaming into her blanket, passing out from crying too hard, and waking up to unsettling silence. 

And the fact both places of work were understanding and let me stay home to deal with it privately is a small but sweet gesture. I definitely needed it. 

RIP Lyra 2003-2021. You were a stinky, little shit but the sweetest cat. I glad you trusted me all those years, even when I was short with you, and I hope you feel so much better now.

Oneus Reaction to S/O Being Bullied at Work

“If you’re just going to talk about how much you miss where you used to live, why don’t you just go back to where you came from?!” Your coworker and the work bully shouted at you, finally having enough of your talk about your old home.

You stared at them in disbelief, horror starting to seep through as you continued to look at them. “I-I’m sorry?” You asked gently, hoping you didn’t hear what they’d said.

They scoffed and glared at you, walking right passed you without another word said in your direction. You knew what they said, in fact you heard them perfectly the first time though you tried your best to ignore the words. You ended up talking to your boss along with HR that same day to see if there was anything they could do to help you. All you got from them was a “we’ll look into it. Sorry you’re dealing with this.” speech.

So after your meeting, you barely made it to your car before you immediately rested your head on the steering wheel, trying your hardest to keep from crying in the parking lot. Finally after a few minutes of tiny breaths and a session of grounding yourself, you were able to drive yourself home.

    He was excited to finally have the day off so he could spend some time with you. He’d even gone so far as to set up your apartment in a nice romantic atmosphere with soft music playing in the background and a happy tune to his own lips as he ordered some of your favorite and delicious takeout you almost always seem to buy whenever the two of you are together. “This should do it, right?” He asked himself just as the front door started turning, indicating you coming home.     You barely made it one step in the door when amazing food wafted into your senses and you noticed familiar shoes by the door. Even though you felt like breaking down in this particular second, you tried braving your feelings and put on a fake happy face for when you’d see him, but before you could even try, there he was staring at you with such a concerned expression, there was no way you could try and get yourself out of this talk. “I just-Please just don’t ask.” You whimpered, feeling the tears immediately falling from your eyes.     He rushed up to you without any hesitation and held you in his arms silently, stroking a hand through your hair while you cried into his chest. He then slowly brought you towards the couch where he sat you down and took off your shoes for you, putting your feet on the other side of the couch when he was done. You continued sniffling softly, until he was back in the room and sitting down next to you. “If-If they don’t do-do something I’m g-gonna quit.” You said gently, curling into a ball with Ravn only able to stroke your hair and quietly wait for you to calm down.     He grabbed his phone quickly and stood up to make a call after you’d managed to cry yourself to sleep. Because what good could his idol status be if he couldn’t use some of the power to help you out at work? Even if it was just an anonymous complaint about something a specific coworker has done to his attire.

    You’d managed to make it home before he did, and in your haste of wanting to hide yourself so he wouldn’t see your depressed state, you forgot to pretty much do everything you normally would. You left the door unlocked, threw your shoes against the wall, tossed your coat and purse on the floor and left a trail of excess clothing starting from the door and ending at the bedroom; over shirt, leggings, socks, regular shirt, shorts. By the time you made it to your bed you were just in a tanktop and underwear crawling under the sheets with teardrops hitting the comforter.      You heard the door open and a tiny curse come from the front, but were too afraid to get out of bed, let alone call out for him. What if your voice cracked? Or you started to really cry while telling him exactly where you were hiding? “Y/N! Please tell me you’re not doing this on purpose. You know I hate seeing such a mess everywhere. Are you mad at me? What’s-oh my god, Babe?” You heard him ramble until his voice got uncomfortably close to the bedroom doorframe.     You sat up in bed, hair a mess and tear tracks all down your face. “I-I just...I’m sorry!” You wailed, hiding your face in your knees.     He gasped at your outburst and rushed to you, immediately taking you into his arms and holding you tight to him. “No no Baby don’t cry. I’m sorry I should’ve known something was up. Can you talk about it?” He gently whispered, cradling your head against his chest while quietly shushing you to calm you down.     When you explained the situation at work and what you did to try and fix the situation, he held you tighter and laid down with you, letting you bury your face in his chest. “We’ll fix this, okay? You’re not going through this by yourself. They should never have said those things to you.” He mumbled softly, kissing the top of your head.

    Instead of wanting to cry the moment you got home, you got extremely frustrated. So while you wanted to lay on the bed and wallow in misery, you decided you were going to scrub the place to try and get the anger out. It took you maybe 30 minutes to deep clean unlike what you thought, you must’ve gotten rid of more than just anger? Yeesh. Ah well, at least the house is now cleaned. Unfortunately though, the moment you sat down was when the imagination started to roll. You were stewing in anger once more with nothing to help calm you down until he walked through the door, a small sigh on his lips as he noticed just how clean the home was. “Babe?” He called out for you.     “In here!” You called back, angrily ripping up pieces of paper and throwing them in the trash can you placed beside you so you wouldn’t get them all over the floor you’d just cleaned.     He stepped into the room and tilted his head, practically feeling the anger coming off you from where he stood. “Okay, what happened?” He asked with a sigh, dropping his bag beside the shoes so you wouldn’t yell at him.     You tossed the paper you were still ripping into the trash can and pointed at him. “This stupid bitch at work! I’ve had it up to here with her! I hope she gets FIRED I’m that mad right now. UGH!” You shouted, jumping to your feet to start pacing the room.     He chuckled and sat down on the couch to listen to your venting and angry kicks and punches to the air as you imagined the person in front of you.

    He could hear the mumbling and the crying and even the yelling through the door. It had been about 10 minutes since he got to the door, and may have been a little terrified to step through the door in case you yelled at him for something completely random. He knew you didn’t mean it, and every time you got this way you always made sure he wasn’t around to see you like this so you wouldn’t accidentally hurt him; but this was how you coped with things, and today’s bad energy was something you were trying to get out of your system before he got home. “STUPID HOE!” You finally shouted, and then there was silence.     He tentatively stepped through the door and looked around, wondering if anything was thrown around or broken? Nope, okay good you didn’t break anything. Then again you never broke anything except your heart, or made your throat really sore. “Baby? I’m home!” He called out for you, hoping you were in the living room so he could hug you.     When he didn’t get an answer, he then started looking throughout the house to see where you could be at. He was about to check the bedroom when someone landed on his back and he crumpled to the ground like a sack of potatoes. “Ooof! What the-?!” He yelped before hearing your giggling from above him.     You kissed his cheek and then got off him so the both of you could stand up. After you brushed off the imaginary dust, you latched onto him in a hug. “I’m so glad you’re home. I missed you so much.” You sighed, nuzzling your face into his shoulder.     He couldn’t fight you with how adorable you were being in this moment in time. Maybe he’d talk to you about your yelling later.

    You were in the process of wiping your eyes when he stepped through the door, and stopped dead in his tracks. “Babe what’s wrong? Why are you crying?” He asked quickly, rushing to your side in barely any time at all.     You shook your head and sniffled a couple of times until you were able to speak without feeling like you were going to cry again. “J-Just some th-things at work today.....it’s nothing...” You whispered, wrapping your arms around yourself for security.     He watched you for a second before he took your arms away and pulled you into him, wrapping his own around your frame. “Do you want to talk about it?” He asked softly, pulling your both to the couch.     You sighed and started into an explanation of what happened today until you managed to get to the part about where you were in the moment. “Oh hell no they didn’t do that to you. I need to go have a talk to them right-oof.” “Don’t leave right now, please?”     You wrapped yourself around him and hid in his neck, holding onto him tight so he couldn’t go anywhere. “Please.” You whispered again, biting your lip.     He smiled and rested a hand on your head. “Alright, fine. But that person will definitely be hearing some nasty things coming soon if I have anything to say about it.” He grumbled out.

    You went straight to him instead of home actually. In fact you drove so fast to the studio, you almost forgot to check that you weren’t speeding to get to him. The emotions running through you were so strong that when you went to talk to the receptionist, they immediately told you where he was with a frown and sent a call up to the manager to they knew to expect you. And when they saw you, boy did that try their best to let your boyfriend talk to you.     He ran up to you as soon as he saw you and cupped your face, looking to see into your eyes. But instead of looking at him, you just hugged him to you and sighed. “I just needed to see you, sorry if I’m interrupting something important.” You mumbled into his shirt.     He pet your head and wrapped his arms around you, silently asking the group to leave you alone for a few minutes. “Do you wanna talk about it? I can ask If I can leave early today. Please don’t shut down like this, you know it doesn’t help.” He sighed out, stroking your cheek gently with his finger.     You just sighed again and leaned into his hand. “Okay, can we go home? Please?” You asked quietly, looking to the ground when your eyes started tearing up.     He immediately hugged you and kissed your head with a quick, “let’s go.” given to you. He then dragged you out to wherever his manager went off to and explained the situation, asking for the rest of the day off so he could take you home. When he was given the okay, he took your keys from you and rushed you home as quick as he could where he sat with you the rest of the night as you cried and explained what happened at work.

He’d put the phone down on the counter while he made breakfast, but now that his hands were free again he still didn’t pick it up; after their initial awkward phone call, they’d started FaceTiming instead, and as much as he loved seeing her face, he was really glad she couldn’t see his right now.

“And I was soo confused, so I started telling her, like, ‘Seriously, Honey, he’s got this amazing blond hair that you just like, want to touch all the time and these big brown eyes and little freckles and plus I’m pretty sure he’s kind of ripped and I—‘ Kristoff, I heard the microwave go off already. Are you hiding from me?”

“No,” he muttered, his face turning even redder.

chapter 5

day 1

Sven was just stumbling into the kitchen when Kristoff came in. He frowned, narrowing his eyes suspiciously.

“You look really happy for someone who just dropped off their girlfriend at the airport for a six-week trip,” he said, pouring a glass of chocolate milk. 

“Not my girlfriend.”

“Not the important part of that sentence.”

Kristoff snagged the bottle and poured himself a cup. “This is mine, by the way, so you owe me.”

“Fine, I’ll buy toilet paper l-- no, I know you, Bjorgman, you’re trying to distract me.”

Sven narrowed his eyes further, fixing Kristoff with a hard stare. He tried to look as innocent as possible as he went to rummage through the fridge, but then he remembered the way Anna had clung to him, the feel of her little hands in his hair, the press of her lips against--

“Oh my god! You kissed her!”

Kristoff stood, not bothering to hide his smile anymore. “Well, technically, she kissed me.”

“I fucking called it, man, I knew you wouldn’t be able to hold off that much longer.”

“We really did try.”

“You didn’t even make it a week, my guy,” Sven said amiably, meandering into the living room. “You tried harder at Mario Kart the other night. Which, by the way, I know you lost on purpose so Anna could win.”

Kristoff considered arguing, but then his phone lit up with a text from Anna, so instead he grinned and walked away to the sound of Sven sighing dramatically. “I heard that buzz! I know it’s her! Jesus, I’d say get a room, but--”

Kristoff didn’t hear the rest as he shut his bedroom door.

day 4

For some reason, her hands were shaking as they hovered over the green button. “Just do it, Anna,” she muttered to herself. “It’s just Kristoff. He told you to call.”

Thanks to the time difference and long flights, it had taken most of two days to even get here, and on her first full day in Romania she’d been so overwhelmed with the film set and meeting her co-star Adam and talking to the directors and producers and costumers and cameramen that she’d completely crashed the moment she’d gotten back to her hotel room. She’d woken up in the middle of the night and sent Kristoff a quick text apologizing for not calling; he’d responded almost immediately, reassuring her that it was fine and to just call him the next day. At a reasonable hour, he’d made sure to add, not at 2 A.M. Go back to sleep.

She had, and then she’d nearly missed her alarm and hadn’t had time to call him in the morning, and then she’d been filming her first scene and been so overwhelmed by all of that that now it was nearly six o’clock, and it was the first time she’d gotten to look at her phone all day.

He’d texted her once at around 9 A.M. her time. Good luck today! You’ll kill it. Her heart had done a funny little flip at the message, simple as it was; every time she thought of Kristoff, it didn’t feel quite real, like it was just a daydream she would wake up from, but here it was, concrete proof that even literally halfway around the world-- more than halfway, actually-- he was still thinking of her, still caring about her.

The remembrance of that was what finally gave her the courage to hit call. She felt too nervous to FaceTime him, especially considering she was already in sweatpants and halfway through eating a bowl of pasta on her bed. He picked up on the third ring, sounding breathless for some reason.

“Hey! Anna! How are you?”

“I’m, um, I’m good! How are you? You sound kind of...out of breath?”

“Oh, yeah, you caught me at the gym, so I--”

“Oh! I’m so sorry, let me hang up and--”

“No, don’t! I’m almost done, just--”

There was a quick beep in the background, and a whirring noise she hadn’t noticed until now stopped. “Okay, sorry, we’re good.”

She couldn’t help but imagine what he looked like right now, with his hair hanging in his eyes and sweat dripping down his very well-muscled--

“Anna? You there?”

He’d just asked her something, but she’d been too busy daydreaming to catch it. Maybe it really was for the best she hadn’t gone for FaceTime; she probably would have been struck speechless at the sight of him. “Sorry, I was just-- sorry. Um. What did you say?”

He laughed softly. “I asked how your first day of filming went.”

“Oh! It was good, really good, actually. We filmed that scene I auditioned with, actually. They changed the bit about the cowboy boots.”

“Thank god. I don’t know anything about movies, but I know that was awful.”

“Oh, yeah, Adam-- that’s who’s playing Jesse-- he said they’d have to double his paycheck if they wanted him to say shit like that, and then we kind of improv-ed something else and it went really well.”

“That’s awesome!”

Anna felt herself blushing, just barely, at the sound of the genuine pride in his voice. “It was, um, it was nothing, really.”

“So how’s all of it going? Are the...um...honestly, I don’t know who all is involved in making movies. But are the other people nice?”

“Yeah! I really like the girl who does my hair and makeup, her name’s Honey. Isn’t that cute?”

Kristoff laughed; she could hear him starting the car in the background. Anna bit her lip. “Oh-- did you get to shower?”

“I will at home, don’t worry. Anyway--”

“You need to focus on driving? Yeah, I totally get it, seriously. Bye!”

She hit the red button and quickly dropped her phone. Her heart had been pounding the whole time; god, she was really out of practice with this whole thing. Embarrassment swept over her, and she buried her face in her knees; how the hell was this going to work when she was too self-conscious to talk to him for more than five minutes? God, she’d be lucky if he ever bothered to call her again after this.

To her surprise, the phone buzzed only a moment later. She debated picking it up for a long moment, then decided to go ahead and rip the bandaid off and snatched it up.

Just FYI, I was feeling really nervous, too. Want me to call you back after I get home and shower?

For some reason, tears started to fill her eyes as she typed a response.

She showered, too, taking her time as she let the hot water work its magic on the tension in her shoulders, drawing in slow, deep breaths to steady herself. It wasn’t that every guy she’d ever dated had been bad, per se, just that it had been quite a long time since she’d been with someone who made her feel this nervous and excited and terrified and joyful all at once-- actually, now that she thought about it, she didn’t know if she’d ever liked someone else this much right off the bat. Since coming to L.A. almost two years ago, she’d had a string of bad luck with men, and it was strange readjusting to the notion that one would want to talk to her as much as she wanted to talk to him, that he actually wanted to hear about her day, that he saw right through all her embarrassing little defense mechanisms and somehow knew just what to say to make her feel better. Of course they knew each other, but this was something different, something more, as if she didn’t even have to say something for him to understand.

Her phone buzzed again ten minutes after she got out of the shower; with a smile, she picked it up.

“Hey, Kris.”

“Hey, Anna.”

“Ready to try again?”

“With you? Always.”

“So I was telling her, like, ‘I wish I had a recent picture of him to show you because he’s like, super super hot.’ And she kind of made this face and was like ‘that won’t make a difference.’”

“I mean it. Like I get why you’re feeling shy about it and stuff but just know that, okay?”

He only nodded, feeling a little better, although his face was still heated. Anna, knowing when to leave well enough alone, smiled at him and continued her story. “Anyway, I told her all that and she just started laughing, and finally when I was done she was like ‘Anna, I’m gay’. And so then I showed her a picture of my sister, and I’m just saying, when we’re back in LA, we’re definitely doing a double date.”

She didn’t know why she felt so nervous about telling him about it. She’d already texted him that morning telling him what scenes they were filming, and it wasn’t like it had meant anything; it was just part of the movie, and Adam was married anyway— but then again, it wasn’t that part that had really been bothering her. She still wasn’t sure until she was explaining it all to Kristoff, forcing herself to maintain eye contact as she held up her phone inside the blanket nest she’d constructed on her bed. 

“And like, he and I are good friends now, so that at least made it easier. And we were all in character and stuff, so, you know, it felt right, and then they started the fake snow going and we just did it, you know?”

“Uh-huh,” Kristoff said, his voice neutral. 

“That like— this doesn’t bother you, right?” she asked quickly. “Because seriously, it didn’t mean—“

“Anna, I know. This is literally your job, I’m not jealous or anything. But please tell me if I ever make you feel like I’m mad or something, because I’m seriously not.”

She let out the breath she’d been holding. “I— I know. I just...wanted to make sure. Because it still, like...still felt weird to me, you know? And I can’t figure out why.”

He nodded thoughtfully. “Have you done this before? Like, stage kissing and stuff?”

“Oh, yeah, lots of times. But this time felt kind of different. I just don’t know why.”

He considered it for a moment, looking so thoughtful she couldn’t help but smile, feeling a little flutter in her chest at the thought that he really and truly cared about helping her figure this out. “Enough about me, though, tell me about that crazy to-go order you texted me about. Did you end up getting to see the person who’d ordered it?”

They talked for so long Anna lost track of time, until she yawned so widely Kristoff stopped talking mid-sentence. 

“Anna, what time is it there?”

“Um...close to eleven?”

“What time did you get up this morning?”

“...four.”

He laughed softly. “Get some sleep. I’ll talk to you again tomorrow morning, okay?”

She wanted to argue, but honestly she’d been fighting to keep her eyes open for the last half hour. “Night, Kris.”

“Night, Anna. Sweet dreams.”

He said that every night, but the way he’d smiled tonight— she was thinking about it until long after she’d hung up her phone and closed her eyes. Then, suddenly, she sat upright and snatched it up again, typing furiously.

“I got my class schedule today.”

“Yeah? Show me!”

He held it up awkwardly to the camera, and she squinted at it. “Oh, wow, that’s a lot of blocks. Are you still going to work at Starbucks?”

“Yeah, I’ve been there the whole time I’ve been in school. Just work less hours on weekdays, usually pick up some early morning weekend shifts.”

“Oh, that sucks.”

He shrugged. “It works out. I, uh, I’ve got some scholarships that cover most of my tuition, so then it’s, y’know. Rent money and stuff.”

Anna frowned, feeling suddenly acutely aware of how much money she was making for a lot less work. “Will you have, like...any free time?”

“Oh, yeah, of course,” he said quickly, suddenly sounding nervous. “I promise I’ll still have time to hang out with you and stuff, just--”

“No, no that’s like-- shit, that’s not what I meant, Kris, I mean I kind of did but like-- I’m not trying to like, pressure you or--”

“No, I get it, I--”

“No, I mean like school is way important and you like--”

“Seriously, when I say we can--”

Anna took a deep breath. “Okay. You talk first.”

“I, um. I don’t want you to think, like, I won’t make time for you or something, though. Um-- that was all.”

She smiled, wishing she could be there in person; it was so much easier to reassure him when she could just squeeze his hand. “Seriously, that’s not what I meant. I was just worried about you, ‘cause that’s, like, a lot of stress. So if there’s anything I can do to like, help or whatever, just...just let me know. Like...with anything.”

“Seriously, I think it’ll help a ton to just have a pretty girl keeping me company while I study.”

She felt her cheeks turn pink. “What if I end up wanting to distract you?”

Now she wasn’t the only one blushing.

He’d stopped leaving his phone on silent overnight; it was silly, really, but he always had a tiny fear that maybe something would happen over in Romania while he was asleep, and maybe Anna would need to reach him, and there probably wouldn’t be anything he could actually do...but still.

Despite that, though, it still took a lot to wake him, so when his phone went off one night close to three in the morning, he nearly missed the call. “Hello?” he mumbled sleepily, putting it to his ear.

He heard a familiar little giggle. “It’s FaceTime, Kris. I’m sorry to wake you up, I just-- I really wanted you to see this.”

“Oh-- hang on.” He fumbled for his glasses on the nightstand, sliding them on and blinking blearily at the screen. “Um...where are you? I just see, like...the ceiling?”

“Oh-- that’s cause I gave my phone to Honey, just a second, and she’ll show you.”

The phone was lifted up suddenly by a pretty woman with bronze skin and dark hair thrown up into a bun. “Nice to meet you, Anna’s boyfriend.”

He wondered if she could see him blush even in the dark room. “Nice to meet you, too.”

“Okay, okay, I’m ready!” he heard Anna chirp from somewhere. “Turn the camera!”

Honey did with a laugh, and Kristoff sat upright, his eyes wide. Anna was in a deep blue ballgown that fit perfectly to her torso before flaring out into a long, shimmery skirt. Her hair was down, set in curls that shone especially bright against the dark color of the gown, and she was smiling so brightly he thought his heart was going to burst.

“You look beautiful, baby,” he said, half-convinced he was still dreaming.

She was quiet for a moment, and then he realized she was blushing bright red. He heard Honey giggle, and then the phone was being handed back over to Anna. “You’ve never called me that before.”

“What, beautiful? I definitely--”

“No, I--” Her blush deepened. “Kris, are you wearing a shirt?”

He glanced down. “Oh-- uh, no, I’m not. Sorry, I didn’t think you’d be able to see without the lights--”

A mischievous glint was twinkling in her eye. “Trust me, Bjorgman, there’s nothing to apologize for.”

Now he was blushing, too. “Um-- so you’ve got to be filming something special today, right?”

“Yeah, the big ballroom scene. I just...I really love this dress, and the way Honey did my hair and stuff, and I, um...I wanted you to see.”

He smiled softly. “I’m glad. You really do look so, so beautiful.”

She opened her mouth to say something else, but then he heard Honey call, “Hey, Anna, say bye to the boyfriend, they want you on set in five.”

Anna turned back to the camera, looking suddenly nervous. “Kris, are you my boyfriend?”

“Do you want me to be?”

“Yeah.”

He grinned, no longer sleepy. “Okay.”

Anna laughed. “Okay?”

“Hey, it’s still the middle of the night, and I’m still kind of speechless after seeing you in that dress. Cut me some slack.”

“Go back to bed. Sorry I woke you up.”

He yawned. “I’m not.”

“Look! All packed!” She grinned, turning her phone quickly around the room to show off her only slightly overstuffed suitcases. “And ready to come home!”

“Do you think you’ll miss it?”

“No, I mean...it’s beautiful and all here, but it’s still not home.”

Kristoff grinned at that. “You still want me to pick you up from the airport?”

“Um, is that even a question?”

He laughed. “Just making sure! I mean, six weeks is a long time, don’t know if you got tired of me.”

“Kristoff, the second I get back to LA, I’m like, jumping on you again and kissing the fuck out of you.”

He waggled his eyebrows. “And then?”

She could tease him, too. “And then you’d better hurry the hell up and take me back to your apartment so I can show you how much I missed you.”

“....Jesus Christ. Why does waiting two more days suddenly feel so much longer than the other forty?”

Chapter One: The Vanishing of Will Byers.

Bruh let’s start with this doctor or scientist hauling ass down this dark ass empty ass hallway this man got wheels the way he flying I bet when he was a kid the bullies couldn’t catch him. Also where the hell is everybody else? Did dude take off in a different direction? There really is nobody else in this hallway. Quick question is the Demogorgon cheating in this chase scene I mean it did just pop up in the ceiling of the elevator on this poor man.

Bonus question how does the Demogorgon eat? Dude has no molars so he can’t chew but I’ve never seen it rip a piece off and swallow it like a shark either.

I’ve never played a game that stressed me out as much as they were over this game these dudes make me wanna play. 15 after what Mrs Wheeler cause it’s dark as hell outside. 10 hrs is a long ass time to play but considering the amount of time I spent playing God of War 4 I can’t knock it.

I’d give Will a ride home lil man lives on the outskirts of town and had to ride his bike home alone in the pitch blac because the adults didn’t think to drive him home strike one Ted.

So I think the Demogorgon and El escaped in the same day but look at the gate look how much of the upside down leaked out in less than 24 hours it’s got tentacles and weird particles floating in the air already and whatever is making that gross squishy noise it could take over in a really short time span with as fast as it’s spreading.

I wonder why they didn’t give El clothes I know it was cold in there all govt buildings are cold they didn’t even give her pants.

The Castle Byers moment was super sweet. The way that the flap/door to castle Byers started flapping made me think Will was in it when she checked just in The Upside Down.

If I was in Benny’s place I would’ve handled everything the same way he was just tryna do right. The fan stopping felt like a casual flex I see you El.

Lonnie’s GF made me mad the messin with the answering machine. The mans baby boy is missing and now it’s gonna take longer to get the news to him.

So when the lights went out in the shed was the way to the upside down open? If so could they use that to get to Will? Or better could Will use it to get back out. Why couldn’t we hear Phil?

Nancy came across really selfish in this scene getting all pissy because she can’t hangout with Steve on the sneak because Will might’ve been kidnapped and her mom is being a responsible parent.

Hop mummies are dead that’s step one for them. Then voila a little Hop backstory which makes him seem slightly less surly.

Mike is sneakin out and Steve is sneakin in side note that was so not stealthy.

The sun was just rising as Dean got back into the bed. Putting his arm around your shoulders, he couldn’t help but smile, when you moved closer, resting your head on his chest and wrapping your arm around his shoulder, sinking into the crook of his neck. He felt his heart skip a beat at the comforting action and his smile grew just a bit bigger. The way your body fit perfectly with his, like it was supposed to be right there. You were the missing piece he never knew he needed until now and he was for once, truly happy.

Hearing the creaky door open, Dean opened his eyes and seen Cas standing there. He knew that scene was too good to be true.. it was just a dream. He went to move and felt a weight on his chest. Looking down and seeing you wrapped up in him sent a little smile across his face. He took in a deep breath, taking in the scent of your shampoo, before moving off the bed without waking you up. He ran his fingers through his hair and looked at Cas.

“ What’s up Cas? ” He groaned, still half asleep.

“ I didn’t mean to interrupt .” Castiel stated, looking at you as you snuggled into Dean’s pillow.

“ You didn’t it’s fine. ”

Castiel looked at Dean, confusion on his face.

“ I don’t understand. ”

Dean shook his head with a little laugh.

“ Well that’s not surprising, but don’t understand what? ”

“ You love her, but you haven’t told her. What is it that you’re scared of Dean? ”

Deans eyebrows pulled together, trying to act like he had no idea what he was talking about.

“ What? ”

“ I read your mind Dean. I seen the dream you just had. Being with her makes you happy, it’s what you want, I just don’t get why you don’t express that with her. ”

Dean took in a breath and glanced back at you, still fast asleep now on his side of the bed.

“ Cas, it’s not as easy as it seems. This life..it tends to rip any bit of happiness away from this family, haven’t you noticed that? ”

“ Yes but. ”

“ Did you need something? ” Dean asked, walking out of the room, and Cas followed behind him.

Watching as Dean poured himself a cup of coffee, he sat down on one of the chairs.

“ I just thought that you would like to know that I have found that shifter you guys were tracking down. He’s in Ohio. “

“ Great, once everyone is up, we can hit the road. “ Dean stated, before taking a big drink of the fresh coffee that he knew Sam must have made before his morning run.

“ Dean. “ Cas said, standing on his feet.

“ Yeah. “

“ Talk to her. “

That was only thing he said, before he left Dean standing in the kitchen by himself. Dean ran his fingers through his hair, letting the dream he had play out in his mind again. He knew he needed to talk to her, but when was the right time to even do that? What if things changed?

Blinking your eyes open, you pulled yourself up and ran your hand across your face, forcing yourself awake. When your eyes focused, you realized that you weren’t in your room. Seeing the guns on the walls, and the pictures on the desk, you knew that you were in Dean’s room. You had fallen asleep in here last night. Shaking your head, you stumbled into the kitchen for a much needed coffee and smiled when you seen that freckled man standing at the counter, lost in his thoughts.

“ Morning sunshine. “ Dean smiled.

You groaned as you reached for a cup that of course was put just out of your reach.

“ I’m going to kill your brother if he keeps putting the damn mugs on the top shelves. “

Dean didn’t even try to hide the little laugh that came out, watching you struggle. After a minute, he reached above your head, grabbed the mug, filled it with coffee and handed it out to you.

“ Thank you. “ You mumbled into the mug.

Dean watched as you closed your eyes, enjoying the fresh jolt of energy and when your eyes opened, they locked with his and you heart fluttered. You just looked at each other for a second, then Sam cleared his throat, leaning in the door way. Both you and Dean looked at him, and took a step back.

“ I’m surprised that both of you are even up right now, it’s not even 9. “ Sam chuckled, grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge and taking a big drink.

“ Cas popped in. He found the shifter, he’s moved to Ohio. I was thinking, we pack up and head out soon. “ Dean stated, sitting down on the corner of the table.

“ Alright, just let me grab a quick shower. “ Sam said, walking out into the hallway.

You took another drink of your coffee and you felt Dean’s eyes on you, sending a shiver throughout your body. You watched as he got to his feet and stalked towards you, not taking his eyes off the white shirt you still wore from yesterday. It was long enough that it covered the booty shorts that you were wearing and it was driving Dean nuts. When he stopped in front of you, he took the cup from your hands and set it on the counter.

“ You know you really should wear more clothes when you are walking around here. I can guarantee you got Sam thinking all kinds of things. “ He breathed into your ear.

You smirked, feeling the goosebumps rise on your skin when he ran his hand up your arm and found it’s way into your hair, tugging just a little.

“ Just Sam huh? “

You felt the low groan that came from his chest and in one swift motion, he had you off your feet and sat you on the table. He ran his hand up under your leg and pulled it to rest on his hip, as his other hand wrapped around your waist, pulling you into him and you felt that he was already hard as a rock. Placing your hand on the table, you pushed yourself into him, rocking your hips, gaining another soft moan from his lips. He leaned in so close to your lips that you could feel his breath, but he didn’t put his lips to yours.

“ If I knew Sam wouldn’t walk in when we were just getting started, I’d take you right here right now. “ Hr growled.

“ Excuses. “ You smirked.

And that sent him over the edge, He picked you up, wrapping your legs around his waist and kissed you fiercely. You latched your hands together around his neck and gave back the hunger he was dishing out. Your lips fought for dominance with his for a few minutes, then you slid his bottom lip between your teeth and his hips thrust up into you and you both let out low moans. You knew that if you didn’t peel yourself off of him, you would need him to take you right there on the table, not caring if Sam walked in or not. You pulled back and put your finger on his now swollen lips, trying to catch your breath.

“ You need to go take a cold shower Winchester, we’ve got a long drive a head of us. “

He set you on your feet with a face of a 4 year old that just had his candy taken away from him. You pushed on your tippy toes and pressed your lips to his softly then went into your room, got dressed and packed your bag. Not even 20 minutes later, the three of you were in the Impala, on your way to Ohio. Sam took the back seat to catch a few hours of sleep, so you gladly took the front next to to Dean. The hours drug on, but between the rock music that played and the little conversations that you and Dean had about the case, kept you occupied and before you knew it, the sun had gone down and Sam was snoring away in the back seat. You glanced back at him and couldn’t help but smile at the image. He looked so cramped back there, you swore those boys could sleep anywhere. Your thoughts were broken when you felt Dean’s hand rub your thigh up and down softly. You turned and looked at him, his eyes were still on the road, not even a smirk on his face. He was gonna play this off like he wasn’t doing something that would start a heat in your core.

“  So, when we get to the motel, I say we crash for a bit, then head out. “

With every word he spoke, his hand moved higher and higher until his fingers grazed the center of your panties and your body jerked at the touch. You took in a deep breath and tried to focus your eyes on the road, but when you felt him rub once against your clit, you had to bit your lip to keep from making any noise. Dean smirked when your eyes locked with his for a second. Taking his hand off the wheel for a second, he turned up the music a bit, sending a little wink.

“ Dean. “ You said, trying to keep your voice, quiet and steady, but it came out as a whimper.

“ You want Sam to wake up? “ He asked, his eyes on the road.

“ Seriously. “ You whispered as he slipped the tip of his finger just into your now wet entrance.

He slowly pushed it knuckle deep and you took in a deep breath when he hooked it right on your sweet spot. You watched the smirk pull at the side of his lips as he started a slow and steady rhythm. After a few pumps, he pulled it out, and glanced at you, your chest rising and falling slowly.

“ I mean I can stop. “

“ No. “ You said, taking his hand and guiding it back to your core, and he slid in two fingers this time with ease.

Your head fell back against the seat and your eyes closed as you felt yourself coming undone quickly. There was never someone who could have you so riled up with just his fingers, until you met this man, and you loved it. Dean bit his lip muffling the moan that escaped his lips as he felt you tightening around his fingers. Your hand moved with his and your other hand came to grip onto the sleeve of his jacket as you came hard on his fingers. Your head fell onto his shoulder, and you were thankful that he had turned up the music, because if he wouldn’t have, the moan you let out, would have been heard clear as day.

He didn’t stop until he felt you stop shaking and your grip loosened on his jacket. Finally, he slid his fingers out slowly, then looking at you, he stuck them in his mouth and sucked them clean.

“ Good girl. “ He smirked.

Something inside of you stirred again at his words. You never knew hearing them would be so hot. You shook your head and slumped into the seat, completely spent. Catching your breath, you couldn’t help but look at him with a weak smile. This man was going to be the death of you, but you were fine with that, because you would die happy. Your eyes started to get heavy, and Dean noticed. He turned the music back down, then reached into the back seat and grabbed one of the spare blankets they kept in the car, for moments like this.

“ Get some sleep, we should be there in a few hours. “

You made a pillow out of your jacket against the window as you felt Dean pull your legs onto his lap and draped the blanket over them. Instead of putting his hand back beside the other on the wheel, he rested it on your leg, his thumb rubbing circles over the blanket. You smiled at the contact and before you knew it, you were out. You woke up when you felt the Impala come to a stop. You sat up and looked at the run down motel in front of you.

“ Have a good nap sweetheart? You crashed. “ Dean smirked.

You just shot him a glance then you guys checked into a room. Unfortunately the only room they had left, only had 2 beds. Tossing your bag onto one of the beds, you ran your fingers through your hair.

“Alright, so where to first? “ You asked.

Sam pulled out his F.E.D suit out from his bag and laid it on the bed.

“ I say we hit the police station and then to the victims house, talk to his wife. “

“ Why don’t you guys go to the station and I’ll take the wife. Quicker we get this done, the quicker we can get drunk. “ You laughed.

“ I second that. “ Dean called out, slipping his jacket off.

You smiled, as you pulled out your clothes, then changed in the bathroom. When you came back into the room, the boys were suited up and you couldn’t help but notice how good they made those cheap suits look. You grabbed the gun from your bag and shoved it into the inside pocket of your jacket.

“ Let’s hit the road. “ Dean said, walking out the door.

“ Call if you find something. “ You said, stepping out of the car, but before you could shut the door, Dean called your name.

“ Be careful. “

“ Always am. “ You smiled.

Sam watched Dean watch her walk inside, before he pulled back onto the road. He seen the small smile on his face and he couldn’t help but say something.

“ So, you seem like you’re in a good mood.. does that have anything to do with what I almost walked in on this morning? “ Sam smirked.

“ You didn’t almost walk in on anything Sam. “ Dean lied.

“ Oh come on Dean. I’m around the two of you all day everyday, I notice it all. You didn’t deny it when Cas pointed it out, so why now? “

“ Listen Sammy when you get a little older, you’ll understand. “

Sam couldn’t help but laugh at his brother.

“ Right, whatever you say. “

Sitting down on the chair, Melissa Buck, the victims wife, passed you a cup of coffee with a smile. You took a drink, because well you didn’t want to be rude and you frigging needed it.

After talking to her for a few minutes, asking her all the routine questions, you got a little dizzy. You didn’t think anything of it, until you couldn’t see straight. You shook your head, trying to focus and then everything went black. You didn’t know how long you were out for, but when you woke up, it was dark, except a light hanging from the ceiling a few feet away from you. You went to move, but you felt the string of rope around your wrist kept you right there. You looked around trying to make out where you were. It was damp, cold but you knew it wasn’t a sewer. You looked at the walls and seen the water pipe. You were in a basement.

“ Finally, I’ve been waiting for you to wake up. “

You squinted, trying to make out the figure in front of you, and your heart skipped a beat when it came to stand under the light. You knew exactly what was going on when you looked yourself in the eyes.

1. Do you have a smell or taste that is wont to bring back powerful memories (your Proust’s madeleine, so to speak)?

Honestly I don’t think there is a single person on this earth who is not immediately launched back to 2006 by Axe fucking deodorant (for me it’s the gross boys I wanted to dance with for some reason in 8th Grade, looking at you Andrew B you ass) but on a more personal and serious note - every time I make a cup of English breakfast tea with cream it brings me right back to when I spent a month in Stratford and Cornwall when I was 18 when I first realized that Shakespeare had my heart for life

2. A book/film that everyone seem to love but you didn’t?

Yeah I thought Foucault’s Pendulum was a wank fest and also I do not understand the hype around Wide Sargasso Sea!!? I also don’t really like Neil Gaiman, don’t tell 

3. Favourite song in your native language, or a language you are learning?

I like way old school dumb French music like Juliette Gréco bc I’m a sucker for Aesthetic™

4. A summer vacation that has remained in your memory?

Summer 2012 – road-tripped from Seattle to CO with my boyfriend when I was 17 in a car that overheated every 20 minutes. We had to pull over and fix the radiator like every 50 miles but it didn’t matter because we were young and in looovvveee (RIP my naive youth)

5. Do you have a favourite untranslatable word?

I love saying “bonne continuation” in French - good for every occasion. Someone’s still in school? It means good job keep going. Giving condolences? Means it’s hard but good luck. Excited about a new project? I hope it keeps going well! So flexible. 

6. Do you have a preferred pen or notebook?

7. If you could move anywhere in the world for a year, where would you go?

Mmmmmm probably St. Petersburg or Iceland or Jordan to learn the language. (Like also Italy and Brazil but romance languages are sort of buy 1 get 3 so they are less pressing)

nSuns 5/3/1

Happy New Year y’all. Thought it’d be nice to kick off 2018 with a review of the routine I’ve been doing the past few months. 

First, some background. nSuns is a pretty popular redditor who built his reputation through his unique spin on the 5/3/1 workout. He even has a subreddit dedicated to his workout routines (r/nSuns), that I frequently browse to share my experiences and also learn from others who are on the very same routine. nSuns 5/3/1 is the toughest program I have ever encountered to date, so the insight I gained from the subreddit was invaluable.  The routine was a natural step to take from my prior experience with the basic 5/3/1, and after seeing nSuns’ own claim that his lifts went from a total of 900 to 1200 in a few months, I was easily convinced this was the right path to take. 

The program begins with some calibration, as does any new routine. However, this program demands an insane (and dare I say sickening) amount of volume, and will not mesh nicely with ego lifting whatsoever. I had to begin at a low weight (85% of my true 1RM) as my 1RM to begin the routine. I chose to go with the 5 day variation as I aimed to hit the gym 5 times a week (difficult af goal). This variation was pretty appealing, as it allows one to hit bench twice a week, and also includes an OHP focused day.  There is a 6 day deadlift or squat variation, but after running this routine for a few months, I don’t want to go near that ever in my life lol (you’d be running either deadlift or squat twice a week which is insane given the volume of this program).

The workouts take a looooong time. Dont go with this program if you’re looking for a quick <1.5 hr workout, because my average workout times have been 2 hours. The Squat/Deadlift days take the longest - spanning about 2 hours, while OHP day is the quickest and can be done within 1.5. The basic premise of this workout is to pair 8 sets of a big lift (T1) with a consequent 7 sets of a complementing compound exercise (T2), which is then followed by accessories. Each of the set follow a different rep scheme, but generally speaking for the big lifts, it revolves around a pyramid of 5/3/1 reps. For the compounds, the scheme is strongly influenced by Sheiko programming (3/5/7/4/6/8 rep progression). The increase in your training max / 1RM numbers each week is determined by your performance in the prior week. There is a concrete way to calculate this increase, as opposed to the more improvised and inconsistent ones I’ve been used to in the past. DAY ONE : BENCH / OHP (LIGHT DAY)

So the week starts with a “light” bench day. Your max weight for the day is set  low - about 80% of your true 1RM. However, don’t be fooled about this day being easy whatsoever. Progression was fine for the first few weeks, but as I started at higher weights the 8 sets slowly became immensely difficult to finish.This day doesn’t employ the 5/3/1 rep format - instead it opts for a higher rep scheme. I call the 4 rep sets in the middle of the scheme the “Death Triad”. I honestly am still trying to figure out how to get past 200 lbs 3x4. Standalone those sets would be a breeze, but doing them after 2 sets of 8/6 are killer. Recently, I started doing just every other set bc it was nigh impossible for me to hit all 8 sets successfully. Given my lax adjustment to T1, I would hit my T2 harder. The light OHP sets not only help as an accessory to my bench, but as an accessory to the heavy OHP day coming later in the week. This, alongside all other T2′s utilizes the 3/5/7/4/6/8 rep progression as mentioned before. Alongside the absurd volume of this routine, this unique rep scheme was another refresher. I had a hard time memorizing the scheme, until I realized it was simply odd and even numbers. It’s a challenging scheme, but completely doable. the 7-4 rep transition is kind of like a break, and the 6/8 rep sets are where the challenges really lie, so keep your energy up for those! Really need to work on this day and these high rep ranges. 

ACCESSORIES: Flyes (Cable/DB Variations), Chest Dips, Weighted Pushups to further hit the pecs. Rows (any variation will do) to strengthen the scapula which is underappreciated during the bench. 

DAY TWO: SQUAT / SUMO DEAD 

Ok, on to one of the killer days. 8 sets of heavy squats? Nothing I’ve ever done. Wait, lets add 7 sets of sumo deadlifts right after. This day is great not only for powerlifters but for sadists. You’ll be wondering why you ever chose this program every time after this workout. No joke. I usually have to spend at least an hour in the squat rack, due to the CNS recovery I need to fit this immense scheme - I’d usually rest about 5-10 mins between the super heavy beginning sets, and up to 5 min during the down pyramid sets. I stopped getting sore after leg day for the past few months, but after starting this program, it came back and hit me hard. If you manage to get this day done, you’ll feel very very accomplished with yourself.

ACCESSORIES: Usually just alternate b/w Glute Ham Raises & Leg Curls to  target the glutes and hams.

DAY THREE: OHP / INCLINE BENCH

One of the easier days. It’s a breather in the middle of the week, especially for me as I excel in both of these lifts. I’d say at the moment this is probably my most improved lift after starting nSuns. The amount of OHP volume in this routine really helps, alongside with the incline bench. The rep scheme is very doable, but does lead to some difficulty during the incline bench sets where I needed a spotter even for the lower weights used (your anterior delts will be fried).

ACCESSORIES: Lat Raises, Front Raises, One Handed DB Shoulder Press, Arnold Press for the delts, Face Pulls as well to target the rear delt/traps. They are a great rowing exercise that helps with your bench too. Might throw in some bicep curls too from time to time. 

DAY FOUR: DEADLIFT / FRONT SQUAT

The rep scheme for deadlifts is based primarily on triples, which is appropriate given the exercise’s taxing nature. I excel in this rep range so I do find this day rather enjoyable. I actually yolo’d my 1+ set weight quite a bit throughout the past few weeks since I felt like I could lift much heavier - therefore I only followed the rest of the prescribed weights/sets. I’ve been progressing nicely (hit 425 easily a week ago) so I can’t say this straying off  is hampering me that much. Meanwhile for front squats, I’ve always had difficulty with my grip. My fingers always felt like they would rip off, so I avoided this exercise often. However, I knew it was an essential accessory to deadlifts and so much more like your back squat, core, and posture which made it an exercise I inevitably had to begin doing. Got some advice from a weightlifting friend who specializes in the front squat and started using a three fingered grip which has proven most comfortable. Additionally, I needed to learn not to put all the weight on my fingers (which is what led to the finger ripping sensation) and instead on the collarbone.  I’ve also been told that tricep mobility is important as well and loosening them up did indeed help. 

ACCESSORIES: Lat Pulldown & Trap Raises which hit the much neglected lower traps.  These help improve my lockout. Not necessarily an area which I sought to improve on, but I focused on back accessories since this routine itself doesn’t cater well to addressing the back muscles.

DAY FIVE: BENCH / CLOSE GRIP BENCH (INTENSE DAY)

The second bench day of the week. Benching twice a week definitely helps bench gains ALOT and is probably one of the most suggested tips for increasing numbers in this domain. For me, the lower rep range for this day was more doable than the light day, ironically. The close grip bench press will be light starting out, so I suggest taking extremely short breaks, and pushing yourself to failure here. Otherwise, you won’t feel much. 

ACCESSORIES: Tricep Pushdowns, Rows again.

WHAT I LEARNED:

Correctly breathing and bracing for the lift. Take a deep breath in, unrack, and lift.  I used to take new breaths throughout this process but realized I lost a lot of tightness so opting for keeping my breath in has helped wonders.  Importance of leg drive. Not that I didn’t know that it was important before, but I realized a deeper extent of its necessity for performing this lift. Also, recently realized how detrimental it is to miss out on back work. Rows are so critical for the bench press and it is easy to neglect within this routine. Over the past few BP days, I’ve definitely felt a lack of back stability which had stagnated my bench greatly. Thus, I will be putting much more focus on my back, doing more rows on push days, and even doing full back days (as a bonus day of sorts)

WHAT I LEARNED:

Same breathing technique learned for bench. 

SQUAT

WHAT I LEARNED: 

 Keep your breath locked in during the whole unrack -> walkout -> first rep. Helped resolve a lack of tightness, as described above.

DEADLIFT

WHAT I LEARNED:

A few weeks into nSuns, I got a callous injury from doing sumos. That led me to realize my grip with deadlifts have been wrong - I didn’t suffer from callouses before since I usually use straps when going heavy, but during sumos I went raw. This killed deadlift progression for a good month or so, sadly. However, I did manage to learn something and be aware of my mistake, which is always a good thing. I needed to put the weight of the bar more onto my fingers instead of my palm. Sounds unstable, but it does work and prevents any ugly callouses.

Conclusions

I’m not quite finished with this routine yet as I haven’t hit my 1K club goal, but I can definitely see it being accomplished very soon. I’d say I will run with it for another month and a half or so. I’ll be frank in that the sheer volume of nSuns has killed my motivation somedays but on the contrary, smashing PR’s is commonplace in this routine and can be a big booster for this rigorous training. As with any other training routine that ever exists, I have come to learn a lot, of which I am extremely grateful. Progression might not have been what I liked, but the nature of the program has given me a chance to demonstrate a larger focus on form rather than numbers. Why? The volume of this program inevitably leads to deterioration of form, thus forcing one to focus and maintain strict form to complete sets, which is a requirement to up the 1RM numbers. In every single lift I have adjusted my form and technique which will help deter injury and ultimately support my lifting career in the long run. 

nSuns has allowed me to finish 2017 strong. It has been a great year for gains overall with me growing the most I ever had in the entire span of my lifting career. Not only have my lifts, strength and physicality improved tremendously, I am grateful to have learned so much about powerlifting training.  I very much am looking forward to 2018 and can’t wait to smash new goals, learn more, and make it an even better year. Once I hit the 1k club using nSuns, I will switch over to what I call “The Triple C’s”, which are Calisthenics, Core, and Conditioning and make those areas a large focus for 2018. Also want to learn more mobility and band work techniques. So, stay tuned, extremely excited about this and will share more details on it later. See yall in the new year.

A/N: This is my first fan-fic so please enjoy. The plot/story is inspired by the Kdrama “Wanted”. I’m sorry the first chapter sucks i swear it gets better later on. 

Summary: Coming back home one day, unexpectedly your brother was taken away from you. Finding a mysterious person putting something in your mailbox, you are given series of tests until you can have him back. Along the way, while no one cared, you had caught the eye of a certain handsome cop.

Prologue Chapter 1 

*ring* *ring*

Groaning you slowly got up, opening your eyes to meet rays of sunshine hitting you. Hearing your phone ring you make your way to your phone on the floor seeing the caller.

Taemin

Immediately answering the call, all you could hear from the other line was muffled sounds.

“Taemin where are you? Taemin!” you yelled holding onto your phone tightly. The response that came back was sickening to the core. A laugh, a deep laugh was heard, loud and clear.

“Who are you and what do you want?” You whispered. Your fist was curled up and eyes wide, what sick person would do such a thing? Before you could say another word, the caller hung up. Your eyes were shaking yet your body was stiff, a few minutes later a text message was received.

Taemin: You didn’t read the letter now did you? Such a shame when your brother life is on the line and the information on that letter can bring him back to you. To cut it short after each test are passed I send proof your little brother is alive. However you fail? He pays for your failure. Sweetheart that letter I sent to you wasn't for you to ignore when I send you something you better examine it as if your life depends on it.  P.S: This is your proof and your 24 hours starts in 10 minutes.

The next thing he sent was a video of your brother tied down onto a chair. His mouth gagged, hands and feet restrained. What concerned you the most was the blood dripping down his head. Your little brother, the one you were supposed to protect with your life. The one that you promised your parents you would take care for, the same person who’s life depends on your choices.Now look at him his life on your hands, one wrong move and he gone. 

Taking the mail from the floor, you rip the envelope open as the letter and a picture falls out. The picture showed 2 guys smiling widely, as one arm was wrapped around the other. A single word was written on the bottom of the picture. 

Ring

In confusion, you opened the letter that had simple instructions on what you had to do.

At random you will receive your next clue for your mission

You have 24 hours to figure out what the clue leads to and make it known to the public

After each task is completed you will get proof your brother is alive

First task: What happened to these two boys.

Re-reading the letter for the 100th time, you got up taking the picture to the police station. As you made your way inside the police station you slammed the picture on the front desk staring into the officer's eyes.

“Ma’am I’m sorry but you need to wait, there are people who came in before you to talk. If you need to file a report, please fill out the form on your right.”

“No please this is important I really need your help I don’t have much time.”

“I’m sorry but you need to wait. So please remove your items away from the desk and stay put.” Looking into his eyes you knew he was tired. You took the things away and sat down in a chair shaking. What you didn’t know was how the front desk was talking about you.

“Mark, don’t you think that was a bit rude? I mean the poor girl seems to be scared and in a hurry.” Doyoung said watching was you sat down staring at the picture in your hand. Mark sighed, closing his eyes a bit. “I know but a lot of people are probably in the same problem as her. I can’t just let her skip everyone who was waiting for so long.” Mark said while filling out the information about the situation of a grandpa filing for a missing person report. But Doyoung didn’t give up and tries to convince his fellow friend

“But did you see that picture she had? It was Kim Taehyung with Jung Jungkook. The two boys that went missing years ago. Do you think she has a lead? 

“Doyoung-hyung if she had a lead she would have called in when the news came out like 7 years ago that the boys were missing. Plus Yuta and Winwin already asked their families about any other information. And nothing.” Doyoung sighed at Mark words. Maybe he was right, after 7 years of trying to find the boys they would always be in dead ends.

Letting it go, Doyoung didn’t say a word focusing back on his work. 

Looking at the picture you were confused. The picture showed two boys smiling happily not showing any concern for the world, arms around each other. The landscape was beautiful with a mountain view in a sunset. But what confused the most was the clue. A ring. A supposed ring mention was nowhere to be seen in the photo.

Seeing a officer walk by you, you took the chance to figure out if they know who these 2 strangers were.

“Excuse me sir but I was wondering if you know them.” Showing him the photo, he sighs sadly.

“Yeah Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook the 2 boys that went missing 7 years ago. Quite sad I used to go the same school as them. Funny guys. Well, I need to go but I hope that helped.” Walking away from you, walking out the door, you look back at the picture.

His words were stuck in  your head “...missing 7 years ago...”  For 7 years they were never seen again. If the cops can't figure out what happened for 7 years, how in the world can I figure out what happened in less than 24 hours.

Looking at your watch, you have 23 hrs 25 mins and 47 seconds left.

“Are you sure this is the right house?” Yuta asked standing next to Jaehyun in front of a house ringing the doorbell for the 5th time. “Yeah I mean that's where the guy live stream was last streamed from.” Ringing the doorbell once more, a middle aged woman opens the door.

“Excuse me ma’am but we here for the case of Kim Yeongsoo and we were wondering if we can look around?” Jaehyun asked flashing his sweet smile showing off his dimples. The women blushed opening the door wider so they can come in, immediately welcoming them in bringing them into her son's room.

Looking around everything seems normal, typical guys room until Jaehyun started looking through Yeongsoo's desk. Finding a notebook Jaehyun read entries of Yeongsoo's life. “Yo look at these.” Yuta said shoving a porn magazine in Jaehyun face flipping through the pages smirking. “Yuta-hyung you're fucking disgusting. Don’t tell me you're gonna keep that, remember the reason why we came here.”  

Making a face Yuta puts back the magazine under the bed and makes his way to Mrs. Kim who leaning on the door way staring at Jaehyun. (I mean can you blame her he’s hella hot)

“So was there anything strange or out of place that happened that day?” Yuta asked notebook in hand. “No it wasn’t anything out of place but recently Yeongsoo has been always going out with someone.” While Yuta was writing down word for word of what the mother had said, Jaehyun flips over the pages of the notebook.

“Is this person associated with him in any way? Like relationship wise or a classmate of his?” Yuta asks looking up at Mrs. Kim. “Girlfriend I think.” Nodding his head Yuta writes the information down.

Meanwhile, Jaehyun looks through pages and pages of Yeongsoo talking about his girlfriend in different days until he skips to the last page.

“Internet cafe, he talked about going there a lot with his girlfriend, maybe that’ll be a lead to Yeongsoo’s kidnapper.” Jaehyun said sighing his fingers running through his hair. Driving off Jaehyun has his eyes cold thinking back.

“I would watch your back If I were you, or your mother will get what's coming to her.”

“You keep her out of this. You lay your nasty finger on her and you will see what happens.” Jaehyun said angrily grabbing the male by the neck. He tightens his hold when he hears him laugh.  

“Don’t worry about me I think you should worry about him. As long as you do your part we stay out. On the other hand if you don’t, I don’t think boss will take that nicely.”

Gripping on the steering wheel, Yuta had seemed to notice. “Jaehyun, you okay?” Realizing what was happening, his grip loosened nodded his head. “Yeah, I just got a lot of things in my mind.”
