I was tagged by the precius @pipergirl17 to share a snippet of a WIP (lol I have a wide menu to choose from right now). Thank you for thinking of me!

This is from the upcoming sequel to my photocheer debut (there is a light that never goes out). A little insight to the Byers family dynamic with Chrissy :) a small teaser while I'm still trying to write enough chapters in advance to post with a comfortable, steady schedule:

His mom spun Will around and they laughed through the strange chorus, swaying back and forth. When she finally caught her breath, Chrissy and Jonathan locked eyes and didn’t have to speak; they smiled knowingly. A soft grasp on her arm grabbed her attention and before she knew it, her voice joined with the other Byers’ out-of-key rendition. Joyce’s eyes were a warm kind of wild, her brows standing so tall they seemed to launch her cheek bones even higher with her smile. They did the twist together a smidge off-beat, and Chrissy shook out her hair, letting loose for the first time in a long time. “Jonathan, you’re really missing out.” His mom teased, pulling Will under her arm for a quick hug. “I think I’m alright down here. You guys can, uh, keep doing whatever that is—” He gestured vaguely with a microscopic smirk that you’d miss if you didn’t absolutely adore Jonathan Byers.

5. Telling your partner goofy jokes to make them laugh (bonus if they're having a rough day)

By either a miracle or a curse, Thancred and Phoenyx ended up alone together as the group searched for looking grass in Il Mheg. The unsure tension between them was unbearable. It had been such a long time since he'd seen the Warrior of Light, but only mere weeks had passed for him. He felt like a memory plucked from the past standing before him, distant and unreachable despite being close enough to touch. Phoenyx put on a smiling face, but he could tell it wasn't entirely genuine. It didn't reach his eyes. He was clearly torn and afraid because of their time apart. Not to mention that something just felt... off about him. Thancred couldn't quite put his finger on what.

After a few moments of awkward silence, Phoenyx spoke up. "I'm going to head to the field over there to search, I'll return shortly."

Thancred looked at him, unable to find the courage to properly address their predicament, he resolved to a different approach to ease the tension. "Alright. Just be careful in the grass."

Phoenyx's brow furrowed. "... why?"

"Well, it's full of blades." Thancred grinned.

It took Phoenyx just a moment longer than he would have liked to understand the pun, but once he did he couldn't stop the genuine smile from cracking across his face and the bout of laughter that followed it. "You're insufferable, you know that?"

"You say that as if it's not your favorite thing about me."

when midoriya and bakugou are around, 7 or 8, midoryia finds something like an advertisement somewhere that claims that the phone number provided belonged to all might

so when bakugou heads to midoriya's house for a play date he tells him all about it and has inko's phone to call the number. bakugou claims its all bullshit but he's still lowkey curious so he watches midoriya put in the number

then when it's dialed in they hear all might's voice and freak out cause "OH MY GOD IT'S REALLY ALL MIGHT!!" and midoriya's just rambling into the phone like "hi all might! you're such a good hero! i have so many questions!! i'm a huge fan!! oh and my name is-"

but then bakugou tries to take the phone from midoriya because "he'll hang up before i even get a chance to say anything!" and they're fighting over it until they suddenly realize something

all might is saying the same thing over and over again cause it was just a recording and the phone number thing was all a scam and bakugou goes back to his "told you it was bullshit" behavior even if he totally beileved it too.

Writing fanfiction has rotted my brain, because I keep looking at the word count and going, "That feels very short. Why's it so short?" Still pretty happy with what I wrote today, though! I forget how much I love this crew's interactions sometimes, haha.

            Vaguely, he caught the sense of Kiru’s confusion and anxiety.  The Familiar started humming, a strange song that Aiden didn’t really recognize.  Still, it gave him something to hold onto, and he listened to it and breathed until everything was stable.

            He laughed again, but it felt a little less out of his control this time.  Why’d you ask, then?

            I don’t know.  Thought I was supposed to.

            That got a more genuine laugh out of him.  Wow.  Thanks for the concern.

            I was concerned.

            There was a certain level of sincerity in Kiru’s voice that made Aiden sober.

            Besides, you’re supposed to tell me the truth, you liar!

            The shift was painfully transparent, but Aiden snorted and pressed a hand over his mouth, anyways.  Sorry.
