so I started playing cyberpunk a few days ago and last night I bolted upright in bed like I'd been hit by lightning with the query: how well would harry and kim do in night city??????

i think harry would start out as a wannabe rockerboy who played in a shitty-yet-earnest band on the equally shitty-yet-earnest local music scene until dora talked him into quitting and joining the NCPD... 10 years later he goes on a wild cyberpsychosis bender and wakes up in a ripperdoc chair with no memory of who he is or what happened to him. the guy who saves his life is KIM KITSURAGI. a disillusioned ex-corpo who worked on neural link vehicles for militech. nowadays he runs a little clinic in pacifica by the sea

harry is like "i am a miserable husk of a man with no memories and no money how can i repay you" and kim is like. "hmm. you could help me solve the mysterious disappearance of my best friend and coworker who vanished after voicing concerns about the project we were working on"

thus begins the du bois-kitsuragi dynamic duo private detective agency... they solve the convoluted cold cases nobody else will touch. rogue hates them but still hires them. night city loves them

some other facts i just made up:

johnny silverhand is cp2077 harry's contact mike. at some point kim is like "detective... why is there a framed poster of a terrorist opposite your bed" and harry is like

[DRAMA - Impossible] "I don't know who that is."

cuno is a """fixer""" and runs a flourishing child crime empire in dogtown. he sends other 12 year olds (and harry) to do his bidding

kim would drive a custom quadra type-66 and listen to earsplitting experimental maelstrom techno on RADIO PEBKAC (he also has a black arch nazare motorbike, which previously belonged to eyes). he is infamous on the local street racing scene for a) driving like a maniac and b) never getting caught

harry would drive a wheezing, decrepit thorton galena he found abandoned under a bridge with no wheels & the keys still in the ignition. he listens to old school tapes of oldies rock he buys from random market stalls as well as body heat radio, despite kim's best efforts

black dog is the song harry puts on when he wants to be alone and listen to shivers warn him about the fate of night city

kim feeds a small group of charmingly ugly hairless cats that hang around outside the clinic... they like to wind around harry's ankles and trip him up ❤️

Two dust clouds drew a winding path through the sands of the Sonoran desert, tracing a slow line towards an overlook. The fingers tracing the lines overtook one another here and there, letting the roar of a masterfully tuned engine echo around the rocks. They came to a halt and waited. The dust clouds settled and dissipated, revealing one Thorton and one Galena. V emerged first and looked out towards the slowly setting sun. He adjusted the inherited aviators and smiled in a knowing way.

Panam slipped out of her truck, took a few steps and then paused. V was smiling, nodding, occasionally raising an eyebrow or gesturing with a hand. Talking to Johnny. Probably asking him to give them a moment. He finally turned away and looked back to her. “Well?” he said.

Panam turned and smiled. “Well...what?”

“Whadya think?”

Panam laughed, a little worn out but still amused and helplessly charmed by the silly gonk she’d fallen in love with. “What do I think of what? You’ve been talking up this trip all week.” She held out her arms wide. “What are we doing out here?”

“Told you. Made a promise. Fell asleep on the couch with you that night,” V tucked his shades into his coat and his eyes glowed briefly. The windows in the Galena rolled down and the stereo started up an unfamiliar song. “Now I’m takin’ you out dancing.”

Panam laughed again and shook her head. “I told you V, I can’t dance.” This was true, he’d seen her try.

“And I told you, Pan. I can’t either.” He beamed, and offered a hand. And I’d give up forever to touch you, cause I know that you’d feel me somehow… Panam lost herself in his eyes, and took his hand. You’re the closest to heaven that I’ll ever be and I don’t wanna go home right now...Panam wrapped her arms around his shoulders. V tucked his around her waist. And all we could taste is this moment, and all I can breathe is your life...Heads found shoulders, feet staggered themselves evenly. And sooner or later it’s over, I just don’t wanna miss you tonight...They started to sway, easily, gently, feeling each other’s heartbeat, hearing each other breathe.

“Who is this?” Panam whispered.

“Don’t know. Let Johnny take the wheel the other day to stretch his legs.” V chuckled. “Left me a shard and a note. Said ‘Listen to some real goddamn music!’ This one he didn’t put the name on the file. It just said ‘For you two.’”

“Ha! That’s actually pretty sweet.” And I don’t want the world to see me, ‘cause I don’t think that they’d understand…”

“He’s...he’s okay when you get to know him.”

“Mmm.” When everything’s made to be broken, I just want you to know who I am…

V nestled into her. How many times had he thought about getting to do this since that night? “Love you,” he said softly.

Panam gave him a gentle squeeze. “Love you too.”

She would bring it with her to Night City in 2070 where she would eventually subject the Galena to experiments relating to driverless functions (after riding in a Delamain cab once).

*Veil insists on it being called the Netmobile but all her friends call it the Shitmobile

AAAAAAAH Time for some Valentin’s Lore yall because-

Mitch’s Thorton being called “Coyote” is sENDING ME HARDCORE YALLL

So VALENTIN’S LORE UH-

During Bakker he actually learned to drive on his Mom's old car, the Galena "Rattler" , the car you get in the Nomad Origin? like he learned on that and it became his teenager ™️  car But when he ran away from camp (after the whole betrayal + raid) he didn't packed SHIT, so the car stayed there

During Wraith time, they once raided an Aldecaldo camp and stole some cars there (alongside other stuff) and Val got a Coyote Shion, it had Aldecaldos painting on it and all but once back at the camp they painted it in Wraith's color right

then when he left the Wraith, he took his car and fucked off, he painted it in a neutral Blue/Yellow, the default one that's in the game, before the deal with Dakota, Jackie and everything

After everything goes to shit, and get found in the trash by Mitch and Scorpion, the deal with Panam and actively start hanging out with the Aldecaldos, some day Mitch take cares of Val’s shion and he's like “Oh but I know this engine... oh but I recognise this sound.. wait a minute.” because that's actually his old Shion THATS HIS BABY Val stole it from him, back during that raid, but didn't fucking Know right

One day, as Val' is about to leave camp, Mitch is at his window chatting and just making sure he stays a lil bit more at the camp like he always do, and then he drop "You took care of her, that’s cool" Val gets all UUUH like uh what do you mean- and puts two and two together, panicking a bit, wanting to say something, but Mitch is like "I'm glad you're the raffen who got it and not somebody else" displayin one of his deadly smirk ohlmmm 

Later on they have a full conversation about it and its cute and Val is all embarassed but also that feeling of “oh wow I been driving His car all that time without knowing” butterflies and all

This get integrated into my HC fullon FULLON Mitch named his colby Coyote in memory of his old, stolen shion

Who would’ve thought the lil guy he found in the landfil had it all this time? Valentin managed to get his rifle... steal his car... and his heart 😌💙

He eventually learned that a faulty implant causes his muteness – and unfortunately it can’t be fixed. The face however, is a choice.
