one of the funniest gigs in pre-timeskip was that whenever Zoro tried to be considerate with the coward trio while handling their eager stupid captain is that this thing would bound to happen regardless of anything at all....

Zoro in wano unleashed his first mate over-protective mode the moment he was reunited with luffy and i live for it. Zolu in wano is everything.

Note that all of the straw hats are protective of luffy but zoro's protectiveness is on another level.

Thinking about the way oda placed the (!) text bubble so close to zoro's head compared to the rest? Im pretty sure it means something, like zoro is the first mate. Taking good care of his captain (and the crew), that's his number one job. Anything else comes second. And zoro literally proved that during the thriller bark arc:

But anyway, back to the whole taking care of luffy thing... I just love how sabo chose to give luffy's vivre card to zoro even though sabo's closer to robin, and zoro's basically a stranger to him sabo, probably: yeah let me just leave luffy's vivre card to his first mate and go

After hearing out sabo's request, (notice the (!) text bubble above zoro's head? but this time with a few dots?? kinda reminds me a lil bit of his response back then) zoro couldn't help but to let out a smile while saying "he sounds just like ace did", meaning zoro still remembers ace's words clearly even though a few years have passed (mind you zoro can be pretty forgetful at times) he is not playing when it comes to things relating to luffy!

Excuse me while i cry over the fact that ace and sabo both entrusted their baby brother to the SHC, but especially zoro cuz he was always there when they entrusted their brother to the crew

this lil episode of brook being new to the crew and just wanting to help them out in anyway possible (but of course he's trying too hard and messing things up) is so much fun because it shows the crew during some down time and that's my favorite thing. i love small details and highlighting in between moments because they're not always fighting or on the move. sea travel takes weeks! they're going to have a lot of time to kill, especially if there isn't any wind or they're not in a hurry.

i don't know why but i'm suddenly thinking about usopp and perona's negative ghosts again. just. this 17yo boy who stood up in front of his fears, when everyone around him got knocked down, and said "i'm always negative", like a fucked up version of the hulk, and protected his friends because he was the only one who could ("you do what i can't do").

like, this kid who said my weakness is my strongest asset right now. i have so much love for him <3

that said, i had a lot of fun making this!! next will be a thriller bark themed piece (with a few doodles in between but don't even worry about me <3)

After one of their many fights, it turned weird again. The fighting turned into aggressive touching. Zoro had enough of this this game and tried to Kiss the cook. Sanji pulled away and put a small distance between them.

Sanji: Wait, no, you can't. I am... cursed.

Zoro: Huh?

Sanji: If you kiss me you will die.

Zoro: Whatcha talking about cook?

Sanji: It's what happens when any guy kisses me. They die.

Zoro: Explain.

Sanji: The first time I kissed a boy he drowned a week later.

Zoro: ok but I...

Sanji: I am not done, when I was 16 I slept with the former sous chef. A month later Pirates raided us. He died saving Zeff.

Zoro: That must've sucked but I don't see how...

Sanji: Ace

Zoro: oh, fuck. * pushes down jealousy, can't be mad at the dead. Especially his beloved captain's brother* Right, that's weird but I don't think it means your cursed.

Sanji: Pedro

Zoro: Really? What was that like?

Sanji: Marimo! Focus.

Zoro: Sorry...* scratches head and then remembers something * But I am still alive. We kissed, I mean we didn't mean to but that shit with the slow slow beam.

Sanji: Thriller Bark... you did die.

Zoro: For 2 minutes. That wasn't your fault, we talked about that already.

Sanji: What if it was? What if you died because of me.

Zoro: Listen cook. Curses don't scare me. I already proved my luck wins...but I won't force you. Just know I wouldn't let a thing like a curse get in the way of my dreams.

Sanji: Then let's not risk it, if anything happens to you I...

Zoro: Sanji...shut up. If I wanted to never risk dying I wouldn't be a pirate and I wouldn't be going after Mihawk's title. Being the strongest swordsman and kissing you are worth dying for.

Sanji: * blushes and turns away. That had to be the most romantic thing anyone has ever said to him.*

Zoro: Besides, if I did die, my soul would get lost and I end up back in my body anyways. So fuck your so called curse and kiss me.

Both: laughs at Zoro’s directionally challenged ass.

Sanji: *Moves closer* If you die, I am coming after you, to kill you myself.

Zoro: No cook * slides his hand behind Sanji's head* You make sure everyone's dreams come true. Spread my ashes at the All Blue and you live and be happy.

Sanji: I don't think I could be happy if I couldn't kick your ass anymore. *Lips almost touching Zoro’s

Zoro: Better keep watching my back then. * kisses the cook.

Thinking about how sometimes people wonder why zoro's not a captain himself..

And how once zoro even jokingly said that he'd become the new captain if luffy wasn't strong enough...

But then i remembered zoro's words after luffy recovered from his fight with foxy, "if i left this ship i'd have no point in being a pirate anymore" he said.

But you know what's left unsaid? "If you're not my captain anymore i'd have no point in being a pirate anymore"

In thriller bark kuma only asked for luffy's head. Only his captain's head. But zoro would rather die than lose his captain. Throwing away his ambition (shared ambition with kuina mind you), his precious swords, and his life... for luffy.

And OF COURSE thinking about that 'moment' with kaido.

Like idk but can we talk about zoro's undying loyalty to his captain? He is strong enough to lead, to become a captain himself, but he can't just walk away from luffy... that boy saved his life, and their dreams are now intertwined.

He will do anything for his captain and i know that in fics sometimes people highlight(?) on his 'obedience', but that, to a certain degree is true, because he loves to please his captain and follow his orders, i mean.. just take a look at his conversation in wano with marco.

Like ughh he is so ill, i am so ILL, and you ask me why i can't imagine zoro being with anyone else other than his beloved captain? I mean just look at him???

Reminder that they are like almost if not equally strong? especially during pre-ts era

力 = power/strength

Like literally everything about zoro screams dominance but god he just loves his captain so muchh, that it's okay to obediently listen to luffy's orders. He will follow that rubber man anywhere, that's his compass, that's his captain, his (future) KING, i will shut up-
