[ boondock saints : murphy + fem!reader ] fluffy february : prompt 16 ⚠ warnings: oh boy...implied sexual harassment from outside party, implied canon-typical violence, bar fight, getting arrested, reader is a badass really, Murph is frustrated, explicit language and typical MacManus-mouth, established relationship, canon-adjacent A/N: Man, I swear, I'm making these way harder than they should be. And it's really not that dark, I promise. There is a happy ending here! Also, I am so sorry for flooding your feeds with these. This one I literally was going to just queue it up, and hit post on accident, so here you go. 🙃
. . .
Makes no sense, getting in trouble for doing the right thing.
And yet here you sit in jail for doing just that.
You and your boyfriend (and his brother too, for that matter) always have a knack for getting in trouble, for scrapping whenever someone mouths off. Usually, you’d skate by and get out of trouble before the cops showed up.
Not this time. No, and this time, you’ve only yourself to blame. Murphy had the sense to try to stop you before you wailed on the asshole that grabbed you. But you pushed him away. You pushed away the man you love.
So maybe it does make sense for you to be sitting here, alone, cold, with only your regret to keep yourself warm. Because when the cops showed up and handcuffed you, the look on Murphy’s face was enough punishment.
He was pissed. He was disappointed you didn’t let him handle it. And he tried to tell the cops that he was responsible, that you were innocent. But the preppy asshole you fucked up and his fucking country club friends said otherwise. And the blood on your knuckles was evidence you couldn’t hide. You didn’t even try to hide it. You didn’t even try to let Murphy take the fall. You knew what you did. You knew the motherfucker deserved it.
You lean forward, holding your head in your hands as the police activity near your cell settles into that boring period between 2:00-6:00 AM, before the rest of the world wakes up.
You’ve resigned to the fact that you might be in here for a while, that there’s no way Murphy will be able to scrape together enough money for you to make bail…if he even wants to.
In the end, if you’re going to get in trouble, make sure it’s because you did that right thing.
One of the cops says your name, and you lift your head in response, your eyebrows knitting together in shame when you see Murphy standing behind the cop. “You’re free to go,” the cop tells you without any hint of arrogance or sarcasm as he opens the cell door. He pats Murphy on the shoulder before turning back to the desk and grabbing the box holding your shit.
“Thanks, Chaffey,” Murphy says quietly. He turns back to you, his stoic blue gaze falling on you and making you feel so damn small. “Ye alright?”
You slowly stand up, biting your lip with a nod.
He takes a half step closer to you, shoving his hands into his coat pockets. You’re not sure what you expected from him, and it’s not like you deserve a warm embrace after tonight. “Ye really should’ve let me handle it, lass.”
“I know,” you answer meekly. The cop hands you your belongings, and you slip on your jacket if anything to hide yourself from everything. “So, what do I do now? Go to court?” you ask him, dreading the answer.
“Nah,” Chaffey shakes his head, frowning almost comically as he fills out some paperwork. “Asshole dropped the charges.”
You narrow your eyes at him, clearly confused. Chaffey looks at you, a smirk curling up one side of his face. “Let’s just say we took care of him for ya. And he won’t be coming back to Boston anytime soon.”
You shoot your eyes back to Murphy, finding him stifling a smile as he chews on the side of his thumb. “The less you know, the better,” he admits.
You breathe out a shaky sigh of relief when he places his hand on the side of your face, kissing your forehead. “Yer a force of nature, lass, and I love ye for it,” he states lightly, making you smile. “But don’t do that again.”
His lips curl up as you nod, your doe-like eyes melting his heart. “Or just let me help ye next time, yeah?”
Murphy wraps his arm around your shoulder, leading you out of the police station with a subtle sense of pride. And you agree.

inspired by your desert fury gif set tags, do you have any other movies on archive.org you'd suggest?
haha a LOT. Genuinely surprises me how many presumably-in-copyright films are just .. there.... although they do in fact get taken down when/if the rights holders notice. If it's an older US-American film, or a classic non-english-language film, the chances of finding it are pretty good.
here's a few to check out that are notable in some way. Can't vouch for subtitles on everything sorry.
absolutely crazy selection of film noir here - click through to 'show all' and there's probably hundreds to browse through (not all in the best quality ... and with rather a loose definition of noir that encompasses some sports dramas and 1930s gangster films) including some of the great classics - The Lost Weekend, Sunset Boulevard, Sweet Smell of Success, The Maltese Falcon, The Night of the Hunter (choose the second one on the list for better quality), Night and the City, Gilda, Key Largo, Leave Her To Heaven, Mildred Pierce, Kid Galahad, Angels with Dirty Faces, etc. etc alongside lesser-known films like Desert Fury. If you are looking for some ~subtext then Sweet Smell of Success, Gilda, The Maltese Falcon and Desert Fury are a good place to start.
Agnes Varda's documentary Les glaneurs et la glaneuse / The Gleaners & I and her follow-up two years later, following different types of 'gleaners' who gather things for different reasons, whether artistic or by necessity
Agnes Varda's Cleo from 5 to 7 (1962), considered one of the greatest films ever made (number 14 on the 2022 sight & sound critics' poll)
Agnes Varda's Jane B par Agnes V (1988) (are you noticing a theme. i love agnes varda) - a wacky collaborative essay/portrait - Jane Birkin, ambivalent about turning 40, plays different characters in vignettes that Agnes Varda wants to see her play, interspersed with interviews about her life
Ousmane Sembene's La noire de.... / Black Girl (1966) following a Senegalese girl who travels to France to work, one of the great classics of world cinema
Gillo Pontecorvo's The Battle of Algiers (1966) - hugely influential extraordinary film... everyone imitated this. Documentary-style account of the Algerian war for independence.
Gillo Pontecorvo's Burn! aka Queimada (1969) - not the best quality but i wanted to include it bc I saw it recently (currently on amazon prime in the UK) and it made me Crazzzyyyy. Marlon Brando plays an English agent provocateur sent to provoke a revolt in a Caribbean sugar colony in the mid 19th century. Ohhh it;'s good stuff.
Louis Malle's Zazie dans le Metro (1960) - precocious child visits her drag queen uncle in Paris, only wants to ride the Metro. Thwarted by a strike they go on a wild journey through the city.
Robert Bresson is another of my favourite filmmakers, a very still, austere, minimal style, mostly using non-professional actors - on archive.org you can find Le Diable Probablement/ The Devil Probably (1977), Un Condamné À Mort S'est Échappé / A Man Escaped (1956), Au Hasard Balthazar (1966)
I've never seen it but Kurosawa's Seven Samurai one of the best known films of all time is up there like. is anyone paying attention to this webbed site...
Jacques Tati's Jour de Fete and Mon Oncle, classic comedy in a silent film-ish, Buster Keaton-ish style
Jacques Demy's Les Demoiselles de Rochfort/ The Young Girls of Rochfort
Thom Anderson's classic Los Angeles Plays Itself (2003), documentary / essay film on how the city has been portrayed in film
Werner Herzog's documentaries seem often available - eg Little Dieter Needs To Fly, Lessons of Darkness. (On youtube you can also find Encounters at the End of the world, Wings of Hope, Bells from the Deep, and Fata Morgana.)
John Berger's Ways of Seeing - better quality on youtube rather than archive.org though, iconic & influential art documentary
Jason and the Argonauts (1963) dir. Don Chaffey but really Thee Ray Harryhausen film of all Ray Harryhausen films. legendary stop motion creatures! the og skeleton war!
Hud (1963) dir. Martin Ritt, kind of a revisionist western with Paul Newman and Patricia Neal. super famous film!
Hard Times (1975) dir. Walter Hill - just ur classic great depression illegal bare-knuckle boxing movie with Charles Bronson & James Coburn!
haven't watched them but the classic Toho Godzilla movies are there!
there are several Letterboxd lists that list films available on the Internet Archive however ... since these lists are very long and may not be up to date I find them hard to use and not very useful.
#film#asks#teazzle#i try to watch films sometimes in French to improve my french so .... I can't remember if the french-language films i list#have subtitles or no.... sorry#many of these i own in physical media form! i just like to have backup.#bear in mind that these films are liable to be taken down at any time#recs

Fantasy March: Omnibus
As I prepare for the future of this blog (and there is a future, if anybody's wondering), I find myself looking back at the good times, when I had the time to watch a movie a day and write a blog about it, which...yeah, wasn't even sustainable for me in 2021, so make of that what you will. ANYWAY, I decided that I would bring all of these posts together in an omnibus of sorts, so anybody that wanted to read these posts could find them all easily in one place. This, alongside other archives, are going to be pinned to the top of my page, and will serve as a long index of the films in the appropriate genres. The goal? To extend these archives as I go along, and have this running index for my blog. And again...there will be additions...
SO! With that, feel free to check out these films in the fantasy genre, which is another one of those overlap-prone genres, but with a very distinct vibe to them. The definition of the fantasy genre, for the sake of this blog, is any film where the plot is forwarded or the universe is built upon supernatural phenomena that cannot be explained by scientific means. That includes science fiction means, so no Star Wars, and no superhero films, but possibly some science fantasy. Any films you'd like to see in this list? Comment, reblog, message me, whatever! I'm always open to suggestions to add to my ever-building master list of fantasy films. And check out the other indices to come!

What Are the 5S of Internet Marketing and Why They Matter in Your Digital Marketing Plan
With today's quick-paced digital environment, having a good online presence is no longer a choice — it's necessary. If you're a small company or an emerging business, keeping your strategy aligned with the principles of internet marketing might be the key to obscurity vs. visibility. If you are looking for a reliable internet marketing services Agency in Mohali, it's your first priority to know the essence of what makes an approach successful. One such model that has proven itself over time in online strategy is the 5S model of internet marketing.
What Are the 5S of Internet Marketing?
The 5S approach was presented by Dave Chaffey, a renowned digital marketing specialist, to assist businesses in organizing and assessing their digital marketing efforts. The 5S acronyms are:
Sell
Serve
Speak
Save
Sizzle
Let's consider each "S" and how significant it is to your total strategy.
1. Sell – Driving Online Revenue
The primary goal of most businesses online is to sell their products or services. This element focuses on using your website, social media, email marketing, and other digital platforms to directly or indirectly generate revenue.
Whether it's an eCommerce website with smooth checkout or a service business fostering inquiries via lead forms, the "Sell" goal is all about converting visitors into paying customers. It also involves optimizing conversion rates and examining buying behavior to make your strategies even more refined.
2. Serve – Providing Value to Your Customers
"Serve" is all about giving actual value to your customers after the initial sale. That means supporting them, advising them, and serving them up useful content that addresses their needs. Consider FAQs, live chat support, informative blogs, video tutorials, and even automated email responses.
When you treat your customers well online, you establish trust, enhance satisfaction, and get more repeat business. Online marketing isn't all about getting new customers — it's about taking care of the ones you have.
3. Speak – Two-Way Conversational Communication
"Speak" means the way your business has a meaningful conversation with your audience. The internet is not one-way; your marketing ought to be interactive.
From email campaigns and social media interactions to surveys and more, communication fosters loyalty and community. By talking to your customers — rather than talking at them — you open the door to feedback, reputation development, and authentic connection.
4. Save – Cutting Costs through Digital Channels
One of the key advantages of internet marketing is that it helps save money. In contrast to offline marketing, online practices such as email marketing, content marketing, and search engine optimization tend to be less expensive and offer quantifiable outcomes.
Through intelligent strategies, you can cut the cost of advertising, automate tasks, and enhance ROI. Marketing automation, CRM, and analytics dashboards are some tools that help simplify how to manage your marketing budget smartly.
5. Sizzle – Building Your Brand Online
"Sizzle" is the creative and emotional pull of your brand — what gets your business noticed. It's about delivering a memorable brand experience that stops people in their tracks and builds brand love.
This encompasses your website design, storytelling, visual identity, as well as the way you interact with people on sites like Instagram or YouTube. A sizzling brand draws not only customers, but also fans that will become brand ambassadors.
Why the 5S Model is Important to Your Digital Marketing Strategy
The best part about the 5S model is that it is well-rounded. Rather than being solely sales or traffic driven, it makes sure that your digital marketing strategy touches on every interaction in the customer experience, from attraction and engagement through conversion and retention.
Here's why you need it:
Strategic Clarity: The 5S model provides a framework to your efforts, keeping you centered on trackable goals.
Customer-Centric Approach: It makes you not just sell, but hear and serve your customers.
Competitive Advantage: A brand that "sizzles" online stands ahead of the competition still mired in traditional marketing strategies.
Final Thoughts
Online marketing keeps changing, but the 5S model continues to be a phenomenal tool to keep your plans on track, efficient, and in sync with what your audience needs. With the application of the 5S model, you develop an online map that addresses all aspects — ranging from revenue generation and cost reduction to interaction and brand attraction.
If you are looking to execute these strategies successfully and see your online presence blossom, it's time to get Professional SEO services company in Mohali that knows how to integrate creativity, data, and customer insight for real results. Your online success begins with the right partner.

Managing Information Systems- evaluating information systems Task one The role of information management systems cannot be overestimated. The application of information communication is increasing as more firms realize the benefit of using information technology to power various functions of the business processes. In the UK, there are a number of firms that have responded to the continued development of new management information systems. For example, the there are several mobile banking solutions that are increasingly being adopted in the UK by some of the banking firms. Within the UK Banking sector, First Direct has become one a leading bank in the adoption of mobility banking technologies. According to Boddy (2005), information management systems present business firms with opportunities to leverage their potential. In many business lines, mobile technology has been envisioned as a potential channel that could be exploited. However, developments in the recent decade opened new opportunities for business. Through the acceptance of the internet as a reliable medium of communication, the use of mobile phones to access internet and share information has been on the rise. Indeed, this is one of the push factors that motivated the development of management information systems that use the mobile platform. The adoption of the mobile banking has been a continued process in other parts of the world, but United Kingdom has been trailing behind. Nevertheless this process has changed over time. First Direct is one of the banks in the United Kingdom leading in the adoption of cutting edge technologies. When there was little investment in information management systems in the United Kingdom’s banking industry, First Direct regarded this as n opportunity that has made them scale new height in information technology. The proliferation of the mobiles phones in the United Kingdom prompted First Direct to adopt mobile banking platforms that has its make more profits while streamlining its services to the clients. As noted by Chaffey (2009), mobile banking was a proven business strategy that had worked for other business firms in the Canada and the United States. As a result, the adoption of mobile banking by First Direct corresponded to the development better information management systems for the banking industry. Industry focus on mobile banking had grown because of many factors that attracted the development of novel mobile banking solutions. After the entry of mobile phones, consumer behavior underwent a significant change, allowing more people to access information through their mobile phones. For the banking sector, reduced effectiveness of some marketing channels and the increased competition called for new strategies to create brand and attract new customers not to mention retaining the existing ones. This is one of the reasons that made First Direct to adopt a mobile banking system that would later transforms its operation in the banking sector. First Direct adopted a mobile banking system, which is a management information system that extends some of its traditional business processes. As one of the leading banks, First Direct move was a response to the wide acceptance and success that to the banks had accrued from using this kind of management system. First Direct made consideration of the benefits in mobile banking systems, which it aligned with its business goals. With the need to reach to more customers and at the same time offer seamless services delivery, the demand for mobile banking technology was long over due. As a premier in the field, First Direct became the first bank to adopt the mobile banking technology opening the field to other players in the banking arena. 'Is blogging still relevant in the age of TikTok and Instagram? '
In today's digital world, short, visually appealing content is king. Platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels, with their bite-sized videos, are capturing our increasingly fragmented attention. This leaves many wondering: in a world of 15-second clips, does blogging still have a place? From fleeting TikToks to viral Reels, I'm no exception to short-form video's appeal, It would be incorrect, however, to quickly dismiss blogging as outdated given its enduring qualities and ability to change with concurrent media landscape.
The Blogpocalypse: How TikTok Killed the Written Word
Our attention is becoming more fractured, and TikTok and Instagram have succeeded largely because of this. According to Kietzmann et al. (2011), these platforms give priority to brief, visually captivating information that is designed to be consumed quickly and provide instant satisfaction (Kietzmann et al. 2011). The 15-second video clips on TikTok and the visually stunning stories on Instagram are ideally suited to the easily digestible information that modern users prefer. This has created a culture of ephemeral content, where posts gain and lose popularity quickly depending on algorithmic favoritism and trending topics (Kietzmann et al. 2011). Some people now think that blogging's long-form, text-heavy format is intrinsically out of date as a result of this change.
So what is a blog?
A blog, by definition is post that can explore a topic's intricacies by including background information, context, and a variety of viewpoints, which can promote a deeper understanding that goes beyond what can be achieved in a brief article (Kelsey 2010).
Why You Should Still Be Blogging (Even if You're on TikTok & Instagram)
Blogging has a distinct advantage: depth, short-form video excels at capturing brief moments and providing immediate impact (Kietzmann et al. 2011). The time limits of a short video just cannot accommodate the in-depth research, thorough narrative, and nuanced conversations that are possible with long-form material (Kelsey 2010). For readers who are looking for in-depth information, critical analysis, or a thorough grasp of a specific subject, this depth is very helpful.
Blogs also function as knowledge repositories(Ellis-Chadwick, & Chaffey 2019). Blog entries are more permanent than social network ones, which frequently vanish into the never-ending scroll(Ellis-Chadwick, & Chaffey 2019). They can be found, consulted, and returned to, creating a permanent online presence and authority in a particular field (Ellis-Chadwick, & Chaffey 2019). This longevity is a big benefit for bloggers who want to become recognized as authorities or thought leaders in their industry.
The possibility for search engine optimization (SEO) that blogging offers is another important feature (Chih Chen 2016). Effectively written blog articles that are optimized for pertinent keywords and search terms have the potential to rank highly in search engine results pages (SERPs), resulting in a steady flow of organic visitors to a website (Chih Chen 2016). In comparison, this stands in stark contrast to the difficulties encountered by TikTok and Instagram, whose content discoverability is primarily dependent on erratic algorithms and popular hashtags (Chih Chen 2016). Blogging is an effective long-term approach for drawing in and keeping readers for companies and people looking to establish a strong online presence.
Although social media sites allow for a wider audience, they frequently do not provide the same level of in-depth interaction as blogging. A more intimate relationship between the blogger and their audience is created via blogs, which promote deeper interactions through insightful comments, discussions, and email subscriptions (Mangold, W.G 2009). In the midst of the superficiality of likes and ephemeral remarks on social media sites, this creates a sense of community and facilitates real conversations and interactions. In addition, blogs offer a forum for genuine narrative and individual expression, enabling writers to impart their knowledge, skills, and experiences in a way that connects with readers on a deeper level (Mangold, W.G 2009).
A more successful approach, essentially integrates social media and blogging rather than seeing both entities as opposing forces (Newson & Patten 2017). In order to increase traffic to their blogs and broaden their audience, well-known bloggers frequently use social media platforms to promote their material. Posting little nuggets of wisdom, quips, or eye-catching sentences from blog entries on TikTok or Instagram might draw in more followers and boost interaction(Newson & Patten 2017). The emergence of microblogging services is another indication of how flexible blogging is; it makes it possible to share shorter, sharper content that goes well with longer-form articles.
Conclusively, the emergence of TikTok and Instagram has definitely changed the digital scene, but it would be premature to call blogging outdated. Unique benefits that blogging still has to offer are the ability to conduct in-depth analyses, the ability to access content for a long time, the possibility for search engine optimization, and the ability to build active communities. Not in isolation, but in its capacity to adjust and combine with other media to make the most of each one's advantages and build a more extensive and influential online presence, is where blogging's future rests. Blogging will always be relevant in the rapidly changing digital landscape because of the mutually beneficial link between social media and blogging, which enables a diverse approach to content generation and audience interaction.

PS Marion
The PS Marion was launched at milang, south Australia in 1897 as a barge, being converted to a paddle steamer in 1900. she was originally built to be a shallow water trading craft, but her commissioner passed away before she was launched. she was brounght by ben chaffey of mildura, who conveted her into a conbined passenger and cago vessel. her new top deck was transferred from the unsuccessful ps pearl.
In 1915 the PS Marion carried the prime minister (Andrew Fisher or Billy Hughes), the south Australia premier (Archibald Peake or Crawford Vaughan) and other dignitaries, in celebration of the building of the first lock. (a lock allows a paddle steamer to change from a high or low river setting to a lower or higher river by adding or removing water into a lock.)

The PS Marion was almost lost to a fire in 1926 while it was tied up at Murray bridge, south Australia. with a cargo of 500 cases of benzine, an organic chemical compound, the cargo caught on fire after a flaming rag was accidently dropped into the cargo hold. in 1948 the engineer, mister Gus Corcoran lost his leg to the machinery, the injury would cost him his life.

she was used as a boarding house for several years, until she was purchased by the national trust in 1963 and became a static museum in a dry dock in mannum, south Australia. in 1989, a decision was made to restore the PS Marion to fully operational status to practically preserve it. On the first of November 1992, the governor of south Australia, dame Roma Mitchell, officially refloated the PS Marion, with the full restoration being completed 2 years later in 1994.

The PS Marion can be found in Mannum and is open to the public and runs passenger trips throughout the year, but is clossed at this time after flooding of the area has cursed damaged to the area.

Time Is My Enemy (1954)
"I never knew that anyone could be so low!"
"You should have learnt that during our delirious year together, my dear."
#time is my enemy#1954#second chance#ella adkins#british cinema#films i done watched#crime film#second feature#b movie#don chaffey#dennis price#duncan lamont#patrick barr#renée asherson#susan shaw#william franklyn#mavis villiers#bonar colleano#alfie bass#brenda hogan#agnes lauchlan#dandy nichols#a cheap and cheerful little thriller. well not so much cheerful. much of it is actually pretty glum#but it all ends happily if a little preposterously. there's a brilliant twist in the last act that i kicked myself for not seeing#the casting is interesting. i taped this for the cast and had assumed franklyn would be the lead policeman#or perhaps the new husband and barr the policeman. with lamont as the villain of course. instead barr is the new husband#(supposed to be 'nearly 40'!!!) with lamont as the policeman and franklyn in a minor supporting role. so some playing against type#im not sure i've ever seen lamont play a good guy but actually he's a very likeable hero. asherson is very good but has an awful time#poor thing. brief walkons by dandy nichols and alfie bass both of whom play for laughs and get them#good stuff. not earth shattering but sometimes simple is nice you know?
