Wishing desperately that Jon with his back spines was a canon thing, I cannot even begin to explain how important they are to me.

In nature animals evolve spikes to protect from larger predators. It’s just very thematically fitting for the Jon, the guy who CANNOT catch a fucking break, to get defensive spikes as part of his avatar thing.

He gets something that would be considered a good defensive trait (something he desperately needs) as part of his loosing humanity arc,,,,

this episode is so agonizingly human. this is like one of the only times jon actually expresses his feelings openly, and even though they argue, martin still treats him like a person. this doesnt feel like martin "talking at" jon, or vice versa. it doesn't feel like elias gaslighting him or basira and melanie invalidating his feelings. it feels like a couple having an argument, albeit a very intense one.

its so. gut-wrenchingly mundane, in the midst of so much supernatural insanity. its one of my favorite episodes

TMA College au where everyone is "normal" aka they're all just students and all the avatars simply managed to take over a whole dorm building.

Nikolai kidnapping Jon for the Dance? Theyre just hosting a party and wanted to bring along that one nerd who they think needs to do some self care.

Michael and Helen? Helen is just so mean to Michael and throws open doors when she knows they're gonna smack him. His nose is bruised a lot because of her.

Mike Crew and Simon? They hang out on the roof, they set up netting that hangs over the edge in a makeshift hammock.

Oliver hangs out in a corner usually (he did leave to talk to Jon once and everyone thought he was flirting with Jon for some reason but no one has been able to confirm or deny this. Martin does glare at him a lot though).
