so much discourse over the 'dawn will come' scene
Regardless of intent to be a symbol, you have become one. You have become an item to which the people will look to. Religiously, systematically, even just hypothetically.
There is a damn hole in the sky with demons spewing forth every other minute - how are you supposed to raise an army? How are you supposed to keep the few military trained from abandoning? How are you meant to keep peace anywhere, let alone create a resistance to stop Gods and God Like Destruction?
Skipping it would be like skipping Ostagar. Many die in both and a new stage is created, one where the player has to take a mantel and play the part.

Got my first Cliff Burton related tattoo yesterday 🥲🥺
Ironically the spade has always been my favorite suit of cards, specifically the Ace of Spades. The Ace of Spade was the card that Cliff drew that sealed his fate in the bus crash.
To Live Is To Die was the last song Cliff wrote before his death. Granted it was a poem he had wrote that was later turned into an instrumental on .....And Justice For All.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit”, declares the Lord in John 3:5-6. There cannot be life without the death of the flesh. Just like the seed that falls into the ground dies and a new life sprouts out of the dead shell, so should we die to the flesh and be brought forth as living souls in Christ the Lord by the power of the Holy Spirit through his supernatural work of regeneration. Our new birth in Spirit marks the death of the old person we used to be. And so with boldness, we can affirm with the Apostle Paul, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” (Gal. 2:20).
There is no life for those who cherish their sins; there is no life for those who live to satisfy the flesh. To live one must die to self, one must forsake the flesh with its corruption, and embrace Christ the Redeemer, in order that in Christ he may be recreated, born of the Spirit, for a new life, a life of righteousness and holiness. As Paul writes in Gal. 5:24, “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” They no longer live to satisfy their lusts, but for the glory of God; their heart is no longer set on the things of this world, but on God and the things of God.

I love how To Live Is to Die has a few parts that sound angry while others sound so fucking melancholic. That represents dealing with grief very well, which is so fitting considering the song is a tribute to Cliff Burton.
Idk if it was all intentional this way but that's how I've always interpreted it.

As much as I want to be a wholly joyous about the fact that Henry Kissinger is finally fucking dead, as he deserves... There's a lot of me that can't help being upset with. With the fact that he lived to 100 years old. He got better medical care, better housing, and a better, more stable life for those 100 years than billions on this planet ever going to see and he did it specifically through exploitation, state sanctioned murder, and lies. He lived to 100 years comfortably on a legacy of violence that rarely threatened his personal comfort. I want to be joyous that he's finally dead, because the world IS better with him dead, but the reality is he won a long time ago.

i will not apologize for crumpling our relationship up and throwing it into the garbage, former friend! It was deeply unfulfilling, non-reciprocal, and blatantly unbalanced in a way that caused me to build resentment and frustration toward you.
resentment stands in the way of love.
and i will not pretend i love you. i will not speak as if i do. if i'm going to live more honestly and be clear about what love means to me, i absolutely had to get rid of this. i had to go back from whence i came. farewell. farewell.
and stay safe.
and may you find someone that treats you better than you treated me, always.
