...This comic reads right to left for the dialogue because I apparently read too much manga, and therefore instinctively put Maren to the right of the panels instead of the left, as done in Western comics. Whoops, XD.

After re-reading the (sadly incomplete) first draft of 2072--as well as the extensive character notes, excerpts, and outline, I noticed that Maren Andersen gives her proteges (as well as other characters not on her team, like Noël and Triinu) nicknames. The earliest mention of this is in Chapter Three, when she refers to Risto as ‘Salmiakki’. It keeps going from there, XD.

Most of these are given in jest, and to be lighthearted, but Maren does not like Noël very much. Not after Noël treated Vivica like crap. So her nickname is meant to be kind of an insult (even though it’s still hilarious, XD)

...It is currently Freya Svensson loving hours. I think this is the best I’ve ever drawn her, XD. (Fun fact: She is the tallest contestant at 6′3. Noël is the second tallest at 6′2, and Nadia Hendrikova is the third tallest at 6′0.)

Yes, Risto’s sweater vest is supposed to reference a box of salmiakki. (Except that, if this was colored, it would be shades of brown, or blue, or something. The black and white wouldn’t look great on Risto, I don’t think, XD).

Vivica giving Maren a nickname back showcases their dynamic very well, XD.

Another fun fact: Maren’s dynamic with Vivica was directly inspired by M.ight Gai and R.ock Lee from N.aruto. (Hell, Nordic Group was basically inspired by Team Gai in general, with Freya and Thorsen taking the ‘N.eji’ role, Risto and Björk taking the ‘T.enten’ role, and Vivica taking the ‘R.ock Lee’ role, as well as Maren as the ‘G.ai’ role.)

‘Butter Crisis’ is slaying me. Maren NO XD

‘Erik the Red’s False Advertising’ made me cackle when I read that in Noël’s character notes. I actually had to look up what that was referring to, since I wrote it so long ago, and HA, it was hilarious. (Basically, Maren is poking fun at the whole Greenland-Iceland opposites thing.)

Triinu bby skdjfgkjdg (She and her teammates are unlucky; their mentor is a total witch-with-a-B, so she and the others latch onto Maren, since she’s nice to them. She gives Niele and Mihails nicknames, too, eventually, with Niele getting ‘Amber Tea’ [since she saw Niele drinking it a few times] and Mihails getting ‘Lizzie Bennett’ [since Mihails’ favorite book is ‘Pride and Prejudice’].)

8. What is the main character trait you like to see in a whumpee?

Damn this is tough one. I feel like I explore various character traits at different times, like Lev’s resilience, Graham’s loyalty, Niels’ sense of humour, Fareeha’s hopefulness but I like to push down hard on each of those traits to see under which conditions they might break. Similarly, I love reading about @card-games-and-pain Lee’s quick wit, @whumpiary Cass’ hidden optimism, @ashintheairlikesnow Nate’s courage, to name only a few. And... I also love reading those be pressed real hard down on to see if they’ll break. I think there might be a theme there.

Channelling my current fav youtuber to say my favourite whump blog is.... mine, obviously. Clearly the person running it has impeccable taste, so ;-)

Hhhhh god no! I mean, my partner and a handful of friends Know, in the sense that they know I will sit forward during particular scenes in a movie, or recommend a particular thing that makes them go ‘yeah of course you’d be into that’ lol. And now I’ve made friends here, they know too I guess! Still get a bit of a jolt when they tell me they’ve read the stuff that comes directly out of my weird little brain (read and enjoyed it... god I’m so lucky).

Like lots of people, I think I always kind of was but didn’t have the words for it? And then you look back at childhood stuff and are like, hm, no wonder I gravitated towards disney’s hunchback, or disney’s aladdin, or the princess bride, or--

The disappearance of the idol series that once "stormed" for a while: "The fan attraction tree" from Super Junior to the legendary boygroup leader are all regrettable.

There are many unexpected disappearances of Kpop idols that make fans still regretful to this day.

Any K-pop fan can understand how heartbreaking it feels to have a member announce his departure from his favorite group. In particular, this is even more sad when that artist decides to completely withdraw from the music industry, from here fans will hardly have the opportunity to listen to their voice or watch their idol perform on stage. again.

There have been many unexpected cases like that, which still leave fans with regret. Here are the male idols that once received the love of the fan community but for various reasons "disappeared" from the Kpop music industry.

1. Dongho (former U-KISS member)

U-KISS is a group oriented mainly in Japan. This group debuted in Korea in 2008 and was once considered the most expensive group when the transfer price was 150 billion won (nearly 3 trillion VND), belonging to both Korean and Japanese companies.

Receiving such a certain amount of attention, in 2013 when the management company NH Media announced that Dongho - a member with a handsome appearance and was dubbed the dream male god of many young girls at that time, When he announced his departure from the group, fans were extremely alarmed.

But even more unexpected was that he decided to leave the entertainment industry altogether. In 2015, when he was only 21 years old, Dongho suddenly announced his marriage and had his first son. However, only 3 years later, there was information that the former U-KISS member had divorced.

These flashy private life stories have put Dongho in a unique male idol position in Kpop: Male idol gets married at the youngest age and is the fastest male idol to divorce. At that time, many fangirls regretted Dongho's departure.

2. Choi Sungmin (former SPEED member)

True to the name of the group, SPEED's period of operation is also very "speedy" when it is encapsulated in only 4 years. Debuted in 2012, but in 2016, the group officially announced their disbandment.

SPEED belongs to the same former management company of T-ara and is one of the two subgroups of the once-popular mixed boy group Coed School. This is probably the group that has the most "staff" changes in Kpop with the continuous departure of members and at the same time many new entries.

Sungmin is the name that puts an end to the group's many member changes. In 2016, Sungmin signed a contract with Star Camp 202 to pursue his passion for acting. Since then, the name SPEED has officially disappeared from the entertainment industry. Sungmin once appeared in the popular drama School 2017.

3. Moon Heejun (former member of H.O.T)

H.O.T is considered the legendary group of Kpop, who have created a great influence and become the standard and milestone for other boybands later. The leader of H.O.T at that time, Moon Heejun, also received a lot of love and attention from fans.

After the group disbanded in 2001, Moon Heejun stayed under the management company SM Entertainment and debuted as a solo artist. He released 3 albums before officially leaving the company and starting his mandatory military service.

Some time later, Heejun participated as an MC for the KFN Korea Army Broadcast show and released 2 more albums. However, now he decided to work as a host and no longer participate in music activities. Fans will hardly have the opportunity to listen to the voice or watch the legendary former leader of the K-pop group that paved the way that day standing on stage.

4. Alexander Lee (former U-KISS member)

Alexander Lee was once a member who was noticed by his foreign language talent, he could speak 7 languages. Although he once continued his solo career after leaving the group in 2011 and achieved certain achievements, the name Alexander Lee was no longer so prominent in the music world.

The male idol's last musical product was in 2015, since then he has been more active as an actor and presenter.

5. L.Joe (former TEEN TOP member)

TEEN TOP has received attention when debuting because in the group there are two members who used to be child actors, Ricky and Niel. However, the group's career is not too prominent for many reasons. In particular, the fact that L.Joe left the group was also one of the deciding factors.

In 2017, L.Joe filed a lawsuit against the management company TOP Media to terminate its operation. Although the contract is still valid until January 2018, the male idol has stopped all activities with the group and focused on pursuing an acting career.

Kibum used to be the youngest brother of this populous group and was also known as a "fans-catcher" for a while because of his extreme beauty. The guy possesses a pure beauty with a sweet smile that makes many girls "lose their hearts".

In 2015, before Kibum's announcement of leaving the group, many fans were sad and regretful. Kibum then pursued an acting career and is currently not active in the entertainment industry. But with E.L.F., the male artist's beauty has never been overshadowed in everyone's mind.

7. Byungho (former member of 24K)

24K debuted in 2012 but in the same year, a member of the group, Byungho, announced that he would leave the group due to chronic back pain. However, after that, there were a lot of rumors circulating that the reason he actually stopped working was because he was secretly married and had children.

The rumors were increasingly confirmed when the management company admitted that they could not contact the male idol and many people saw his family photos on social networks. Finally, Byungho officially announced that he left the group to take care of his personal life and spend time with his family. Since leaving 24K, Byungho has almost completely retired from the entertainment industry, without any more notable news about this guy.

Noir debuted on April 9th of 2018. With the mini-album Twenty’s Noir. Their title debut song was Gansta (SUCHA GOOD VIDEO)

1. Thinking back to your childhood, what were your most memorable or favourite clothes?

I’ve gone through various ‘phases’, like most people. In my teens (early 2000s), I used to go to a charity shop near my school. That’s probably where I bought the clothes I remember most fondly. Some of the best stuff I bought there included a pair of dark navy, high-waisted, double pleated turn-ups and a maroon velvet blazer. I wore it a lot it with a white Kangol flat cap, a white shirt and a striped blue tie. I was 15 or 16, and I thought I looked like Samuel L. Jackson or one of those cool jazz musicians I saw on the covers of my grandad’s LP collection. The reality was, no doubt, quite different…

2. How would you describe your style today, and what are your influences?

In terms of what I wear casually, I think it’s definitely rooted in traditional Americana, heritage style and workwear but I like to mix ‘genres’ and incorporate contemporary stuff as well.

I also really like seeing how women wear menswear and vintage menswear, in particular. I think they often put together colours and silhouettes that men typically wouldn’t.

3. When looking for clothes, what factors play into your selections?

It depends on whether I’m buying vintage or contemporary stuff.

With vintage, it’s a ‘crap shoot’ and you’re usually limited by what’s available. So, I don’t tend to look for very specific things. I mainly care about whether something just strikes me as aesthetically pleasing, whether it has an interesting history and whether it fits me well. I don’t care as much about the brand, quality or even whether I ‘need’ it. So with vintage, I could have all the intentions of finding the perfect pair of vintage Chuck Taylors, but end up buying a random summer camp sweatshirt instead – much to the dismay of my wife…

When it comes to modern stuff, I tend to be a lot more focused and picky, especially about the ethics of the production. I’m mainly drawn to micro/small brands, where you know there’s, at most, a couple of people that run the business or possibly even make the goods. I love brands like Tender co., Dawson Denim and S.E.H Kelly. I’m also really interested in the increasing number of brands that are trying to produce more basic, quality garments through ethical means at an affordable price point. I think Community Clothing really stands out when it comes to this.

4. Most garmsmen will have a few “grail items” in their collection. Not to out you, but if your house is burning, which garments do you grab?

It would probably be my granddad’s old cardigan. It’s a terrible piece of clothing. It has completely lost its shape. It is made from Soviet wool, which is itchier than a tropical fungal infection, but it has sentimental value. That, and my granddad’s old watch – which in ‘mechanical watch terms’ is potentially worse than the cardigan. But again, I’d hate to ever lose it.

5. What would you never wear?

I’ve been breaking this rule recently, but generally, I never wear anything black. Growing up in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, black/grey was everywhere and wearing colours was seen as ‘garish’ or ‘feminine’. So in the teenage rebellion phase of my life (which, so far, has lasted into my early 30s), I’ve actively avoided wearing black and instead ‘pranced around’ and embraced colours.

6. Do you have a dream garment you’d love to own?

I’m desperately looking for the perfect vintage bowling shirt with a contrast colour. Ideally, in pink. Do drop me a DM, if you have one 😉

7. Do you have any style icons, historic or current?

I grew up watching Jean-Paul Belmondo (aka. “the real Steve McQueen”) and Indiana Jones. So as a kid, I was obsessed with that sort of ‘refined rugged’ look. Then in my teens, I was really into “The Fresh Prince” and Andre 3000.

In recent years, I’ve been really into styles that blend vintage Americana and workwear with more contemporary stuff. I really like Macklemore, but John Mayor is probably the undisputed king.

On the more formal side, I really want to be Patrick Grant when I grow up. I think Jason Jules is always spot on, and I’d love to smoke cigarettes like Ethan Newton.

8. If your clothes need repairs or alterations, do you do it yourself?

Yes. I think everyone should try to do the basic alterations. It makes you appreciate your clothes more, saves you money and makes you popular with your partner…

9. Do you make any of your own clothes?

Yes, I have made a couple of things for myself and it’s something I want to do much more of. I made a noragi style jacket and I’ve made a skirt and a pair of trousers for my wife as well.

So I’ve not quite converted a tent or a pair of trousers into a waistcoat yet – but the contestants on the Great British Sewing Bee better watch out in 2035!

10. How do you see your style evolving going forwards?

I think the beautiful thing about vintage clothing is that you can always ‘upgrade’ your clothes over time. So for example, I have a lovely vintage G1 leather jacket currently, but I’d eventually like to find an even better one someday. So I think I’ll probably end up having mostly similar stuff, but hopefully ‘better’ versions of the same garments over time.

11. How do you think trends such as denim and heritage style will evolve and survive? What will be the next big thing?

Niel Bohr once said, “Prediction is very difficult, especially if it’s about the future”. As an analyst, I’m very conscious that any prediction I make will definitely be wrong. BUT I did predict that fanny packs/bum bags would be a thing again a few years ago – even before Joe Rogan did….so let me have a go.

In general, I think transparency and ethics will continue to become ever more important, especially now that it’s increasingly clear it doesn’t have to come at a massive premium.

Within the sub-genres of menswear that I care most about, heritage/rugged/vintage etc., I think we’ve hit peak ‘ruggedness’. I accept that some people will always insist on wearing 28oz denim, but the exaggerated focus on everything always needing to be completely over-engineered, I think, will slowly give way to a more pragmatic appreciation for comfort and style. That doesn’t mean quality won’t matter but I think it means ‘ultimate ruggedness’ won’t unquestionably equal ‘ultimate product’. The watch equivalent is a shift from chunky Panerais and Submarines to more streamlined Reversos and vintage Omega Seamasters.

I think menswear is too serious and focused on trying to rationally or objectively assess style at the moment. On Instagram, I’ve been joking a lot about how I’m ‘prancing’ with my clothes. I don’t think we should return to the peacocking of the French royal courts of Louis XIV, but I do think there’s an attempt to bring too much science and not enough art into style currently. There’s a lot of this in the various menswear forums, which seem to have become echo chambers with people taking things a little too seriously. I think this probably comes from the legacy of traditional rules of tailoring, but also just from some sort of uneasiness by many men to generally embrace things at a purely aesthetic level. However, I think the pendulum is slowly swinging the other way and I think it’ll make things more fun.

Fans Vote For GT3 Le Mans Favourite. We are booting up the new "EEWC Fans" Facebook group. And one of our initial activities is asking the fans for their favourites for Le Mans. You can join the other 600+ fans in the group here https://www.facebook.com/groups/eewcfans The vote is almost dead even between #585 Asetek SimSport by Volante Racing and #404 GlamRacing. And close for third was #188 Teleforeningen and #777 DSR-GadgetHuset.dk So here is your guess at the Le Mans podium 1st #585 Asetek SimSport by Volante Racing (34%) Currently listed as being driven by Niels Hoogeveen, Maciej Kaspryzk, Elliso Netto, Alexander Secher, and Arda Ercan. Sadly the team hasn't listed any more detailed information on the drivers. 2nd #404 GlamRacing (30%) The GlamRacing driver list currently shows Henrik Hoier, Calum Wilson, Jakub Kowalski, Lee Russell, and Jef Vanniljen. Henrik Hoier Started sim racing in late 2006 when a friend of his introduced him to GTR2. He then got into driving in the DGTL league in 2007. His first GTR24H event was in spring 2008 at Le Mans. He has been driving for several teams at GTR24H over the years including Grenaa bilhus racing, SimTech Motorsport and Innotech (today ID Simsport). Henrik has been a staple at every GTR24H since 2008, and never missed a year, if you count that Henrik in 2009 was a pit crew, not a driver. Henrik has been driving gtr2, Rfactor 2, Iracing and Race07 In 2013 Henrik won the GTE class at the GTR24H event together with Innotech. In 2018 Henrik won the Virtuel endurance championship LM-GT division 3 with Alexander van der Woude and SimTech Motorsport. Henrik has not done any real-life racing, he doesn't even have a driving license. Henrik loves sim racing and likes to set goals for himself, so he gets better and faster, and his goal in sim racing is someday maybe winning another EEWC event. Calum Wilson Age 30 (born 1992) - Nationality British Calum has been playing racing games since F1 2002 came out on PC! However, despite playing with the Codemasters F1 games, never decided to invest in sim racing until 2017. Calum picked up a quick play seat challenge, a cheap Ferrari wheel off eBay and was hooked and has been entering casual sim leagues since whilst having long and hard battles with team-mate Lee Russell over the course of the last 3 years! (The rig has also been heavily updated since then too!) After doing some mini-endurance leagues with World Sim Sports in 2019 and finishing runner-up with 2 wins and 5 podiums in 8 races, Calum is excited to take endurance racing a little more seriously. Favourite car in sim-racing is the Porsche 911 RSR GTE and in real life, it would probably be his Mini JCW. Dream car is a Datsun 240z. Jakub Kowalski Also known as Kuba Kubica, is very passionate about racing simulations. He began with Geoff Grammonds Grand Prix 2 in 1996 with a keyboard, his first racing wheel was a Logitech Force EX, which he used for about 3 years playing F1 Games and Need For Speed 3,4 on PC until ca. 2000. Kuba then did not have a PC until 2010 and played Console racing games during this period. After playing Codemasters F1 2010 on Xbox, he decided to buy a PC, a wheel the Logitech G27, which he still uses today, the Pedals were upgraded to Fanatec V3 in 2017. Lee Russell Age 41 - Nationality British. An experienced and successful sim racer who has been racing for the best part of 15 years. A multiple-race winner in various championships and a rfactor stalwart since the early days. Lee has the opinion that to be the best, you must learn to drive anything fast no matter how difficult it may be. Lee has entered many endurance series including the GTR24H 24hr of Spa 2020 together with Henrik, which was GlamRacing's first race. Jef Vannijlen Age 43 - Nationality Belgium, also known as Jeeve79, is very passionate about video games in general since he was a child and especially simulator games like race sims and combat flight sims like DCS World. He has always loved racing games from the very first time he saw Pole Position on the Commodore 64 when he was 6 years old. From Geoff Grammonds Grand Prix and Stunt Car Racer on the AMIGA and then into PC gaming, when that became a thing, he was all over it. Sportscars GT Grand Prix Legends EA F1 - Simbin GT Legends Nascar 2003 Rfactor1 Live For Speed - Assetto Corsa... He ran Iracing for 2 years but when he went back to Rfactor2, he realized how good it feels on the limit and how connected you are with the car. He bought an MS Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 joystick in 1998 and a Logitech G25 in 2006 and still uses these on a daily basis. According to him, it just won't break and he has no excuses to buy anything else. The leather on his G25 rim has worn away in places but got it patched up with bicycle handlebar tape. This is a decidedly odd book. Any Given Lifetime follows Niel Green and Joshua Strouder through their lives, Niel from his birth and Joshua as he tries to move on from the death of his boyfriend. From the time of his birth, Niel has had memories of his previous life as Niel Russell, Joshua's dead boyfriend. Because he has the memories of Joshua and their time together, he loves Joshua from the time he is a very small child and he is a child genius with a speciality in nanotechnology. It is very off-putting for Alice, his mother, who does come to the realisation that her son was reincarnated quite early on. Joshua doesn't know Niel has been reincarnated he moves on and makes a happy new life with Lee. A man who received organ donations from upon his death. Lee refuses to let Niel be forgotten and understands his place in Joshua's life. Lee and Alice are both gifts of characters, accepting and charming of the exceptional circumstances they find themselves in.

The time jumps are well signposted and the thee parts work well in context. The prologue is set in January 2012, Part One runs from May 2018 to August 2022; Part Two September 2027 to October 2030; Part Three October 2032 to November 2032. I really didn't expect this to start with Niels birth though. I love the characters, the idea and the devices but the execution left something to be desired.

After some reflection I this it all comes to the way one relationship was written. Niel has a friends-with-benefits relationship with his college roommate Derek. I adore Derek, he's lovely, he makes me smile and is a fantastic friend to Niel (though he definitely wanted to be more, from the start), they are a bit of an odd mix though an English major and a science genius. I have no issue with the relationship in and of itself (or with any friends-with-benefits/fuck buddy relationship) but the frequent descriptions of them fucking felt unnecessary, say it happens but not write it as with Joshua and Lee. I feel that this would have been a more effective slow burn. Make it clear that Joshua and Niel have their other relationships, though equating those two is unfair, but focus the sexual description on Joshua and Niel. That may be a controversial opinion but it's how I feel.

Child Niel is alternately hilarious and terrifying.

I don't like Jim as a character option, he feels like a cop-out. There were better ways to work that whole thing.

“This isn’t how I wanted it. Not back then. Not now. Wanted it to make sense—for you to understand. This isn’t how I wanted it.” “Me, either. But I’ll take what I can get,” — Joshua and Niel have one of the most frenzied, emotionally complicated first times. It works really well in a way that was unexpected for me

Niel and his almost autistic behaviour is effective. At bare minimum, he has extremely high IQ non-existent EQ. Him and dogs are just a fun thing though. *cries for Magic*

Requires a belief in a very specific kind of reincarnation. Immediate memory access, full physical similarity. It's not my prefered form but it's done well here.

Dreams are a much bigger part of this than expected. The last dream made me so warm and fuzzy.

As an aside, this is a beautiful reminder to look into organ donation in your country. I know mine and I know where I stand on it as do those who would need to make decisions if something was to happen. Really it's just all the end of life decisions, yes I'm feeling kind of dark no I'm not sure why. Any Given Lifetime is what it says on the tin but more you start much earlier than I initially expected with Niels birth and follow both characters. It does take some adjustment and remembering how old the characters are but it is good. Just a warning for people that there are some brief elements of domestic abuse and necessary character death.
