I can’t get over how much I love this!! Nomad splits his characters into playlists and I have been wanting to make one in order, but luckily someone did it for me!! It does include some I wouldn’t have, but if it has to do with Frosthaven, it’s here! It’s almost 200 videos long, but there is so much that happens in this city from several lines of werewolves, vampires, Dullahans, hunters, demons, nekos, mermaids, and Elves. There are m4f, m4a, and m4m. Listeners are wolves, humans, and one very special secret one in one plot line. Please give it a shot if you want an amazing story!!!
Also great collabs including but not limited to Dade Audio, Eris Serenity, Greenbriar, Evil Sea Cow, Good Boy Audios, Scythe Audios, Big Man Audio, Kittenish, Siren’s Son, and even Mama Nomad!!!!

Thinking about how Tobin used to be a nomad who literally in a USWNT vid admitted she had no fixed address and would just crash at teammates and friends' places,,,,and then thinking about how now she has a wife, dog and house, and of her captioning the PD "home"
look at our grown up bae

ASMR Rant pt. 10: Thoughts after binging CardlinAudio, A Warm Coffee Mug, and Nomads Tales and Audios
First ~ Previous ~ Next
@umbratheshadowfamiliar @kipperzz @monowritestoomuch *glares at you all silently in cat* I blame you three for this.
(Note these binges are still ongoing but I got impatient with this and had to give my thoughts XD)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
CardlinAudio: Sir, please tone down the charm, SIR-
Mental state: *still reeling from Umbra's "daddy issues" attack-*
Favorite series: Desk Dates (so CUTE RAAAAAAAAAGH)
Series I thought I'd dislike but ended up loving: My Servant, My Savior (WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK IS GOING ON-)
Random thoughts:
So I was checking out the playlists and it's really cool how he has M4M, M4F, and M4A versions for some of his series, love the inclusivity- also it's interesting to see what changes in each version.
Speaking of playlists- lot of playlists omgggg okay I can devour this-
Umbra suggested I started with "The Man on the Mountain" after seeing me rant about Auron during the Yuurivoice binge- excellent tactic, did not think he'd be a vampire.
"DESK DATES" WAS SO SWEETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT- I'm getting REAL TIRED of the adorkable guys stealing my heart, my type is EDGELORDS I SWEARRRRR-
Okay but "My Servant, My Savior" did NOT go like how I was expecting- I saw he was a butler and I was like "Oh, okay, it's gonna be slow burn, mutual pining, that kinda thing-" NO. NO IT WAS NOT. HAD ME CLUTCHING MY PEARLS AND GAWPING AT THE SCREEN- AND WHY ARE WE TALKING ABOUT COUSINS-
Soothing voice, good channel to unwind to, very good meal indeed.
A Warm Coffee Mug: I don't even like coffee that much but I am loving this-
Mental state: *curled up in fluffy warm blanket with my fellow Tumblr cats*
Favorite series: Caspian (Vampire Baron), Klaus (Kuudere Chess Nerd)
Series I thought I'd dislike but ended up loving: Klaus (Kuudere Chess Nerd)
Random thoughts:
The art style for the thumbnails is so cuteeeeeeeee omggggggg-
Same thing as Cardlin, love the inclusivity for the series, but- Coffee? Coffee Mug? Warm? What do I call him- I'm calling him Coffee. Anyway Coffee takes it up a notch because besides M4M/F/A, he also has audios for trans listeners, which was REALLY interesting and nice to see.
So. Freaking. Soothing. Like this is what I'd use for sleep aids or background noise while studying.
Caspian, I figured I was gonna like cuz I'm a sucker for vampire characters, BUT he gets extra points because skeleton crony (*is still sobbing over Frank-*) But I also really liked how protective he was of Listener.
KLAUS. Admittedly it took me a bit of time to warm up to him, but I LOVED his story. It was sad what happened to him after the hospital trip, but I'm glad he and Listener were able to find ways to work around it. Klaus was cute aldfjlajdlfjdlf >///<
Nomads Tales and Audios: Why tf does Caleb snore so loudly omg-
Mental state: *feral screeching*
Favorite series: The Dullahan's Chronicle, Frosthaven
Series I thought I'd dislike but ended up loving: The Werewolf Saga (I KNOW I KNOW, I SWEAR I'LL LEARN MY LESSON OKAY-)
Random thoughts:
First off, LOVE the channel aesthetic, this is so nice- IS THAT PALI'S ARTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT-
Mmkay so I started with Caleb. And I've mentioned before, werewolf audios are iffy for me, they're not my favorite mythics- I give up. I love them. I'm a convert, cuz so far every werewolf series I've seen has been a banger.
BUT CALEB. OH- MY- GOSH. This man- I legit thought he was gonna be my favorite, he was AMAZING- the relationship between him and his Mate was so so freaking sweet- AND his journey to becoming the alpha of the Frosthaven pack, especially after saying he wasn't interested. Also werewolf carpool, yes yes.
The Frosthaven arc was sooooooooooo good, I loved seeing Deacon, Caleb, Connor AND THEIR LISTENERS all team up to take down Tobin (I wanna say frick Tobin, but I feel like his playlist is going to turn him into a sympathetic character which is FINE I GUESS.)
AND CONNORRRRRRRRRRR?!?!?!?!?!? LISTENNNNNNNNNNNN- Respectfully. I need him. So bad. Rn i'm not kidding- I LOVE HIM SO MUCH, BRUH HE'S SO SWEET!!!! AND THE SLOW BURN WAS WORTH IT RAAAAAAAAAGH
Also small rant for all my moots, especially the ones that have put up with me screeching in our chats-
It brings me so much joy to be able to talk to you guys, to share thoughts on different series, to chat about life in general. I'm really glad that we got to meet, I'm happy everytime I get to exchange a few words with y'all. You guys are amazing. I wish you all the best.

Started listening to the Frosthaven series by Nomad today, and I have to say I'm uh... not impressed.
I held some excitement about it because it was Nomad, and I love his City Wolf/Country Lamb series, but I struggled with starting Frosthaven due to the stark lack of inclusivity I'd hoped for. I recently reached a point where I felt I was able to actually start that ball rolling and just imagine all the audios as either m4m or m4a at the very least, but then I ran into an abundance of issues that I haven't seen anyone talk about and it's pretty concerning—so I'm gonna Be That Person and open my big mouth about it.
Starting with Deacon, I didn't have any problems- a few laughs at some reduntant or contradictory things, but still enjoyed/enjoy listening to him. It wasn't until I paused on Deacon and hit up Caleb's playlist next where I started running into the issue—that issue being the subtle misogyny that felt really kinda gross to me when it came to the argument audio (I'm not sure if there are multiple yet, so I'll just say the one titled "Relationship Status"). Getting right down to it, the listener feeling insecure about themself because they aren't a werewolf like Caleb is something completely reasonable, and was honestly a conflict I expected to see at some point, but the fact that it was framed as jealousy or a fear of being cheated on that led to them jumping to the conclusion of Caleb cheating really rubbed me the wrong way. I feel that type of writing for a listener character that is meant to and written to be a woman is perpetuating the sexist stereotype that every woman is jealous of every other woman her partner may interact with and have an outburst of suspecting or accusing said partner of cheating. While I do understand that this listener has canonically had issues of partners cheating in the past, I still feel there could have been a different way to go about it; furthermore, the way Caleb was written to respond to such concerns and accusations was less than favorable, as it felt to me more manipulative and dissmissive to the listener's genuine doubt, mistrust, and insecurity. To me, it didn't seem like there was any level of honest communication, no healthy support or reassurance, and therefore, no actual resolution.
My next issue is with Tobin's audios. I haven't even heard so much as a second of dialog yet, and that's because I paused the video as soon as I opened and read the description. To quote, it states: "FYI...Yes, this is an [M4M] audio...however the story is important to the Frosthaven arc overall"
I can hardly even begin to explain how devastating it was nor how hurt I felt when reading that. This is the singular M4M playlist of audios within the Frosthaven universe he's made, and that message in the description feels like an apology. As though he's apologizing for making a confirmed queer branch within a whole series of audios that are either M4F or M4A. That message singlehandedly demolished every last ounce of willingness and excitement I had to get into the Frosthaven series.
For an audio creator who has made queer content in the past—and recently—seemingly unapologetically, seeing him say something like that about a confirmed/actively queer branch of his primarily M4F and M4A is baffling, disappointing, and extremely disheartening as it comes across as extremely backhanded to the mlm fans within his community—however few there may be. The fact that he apologizes for including even a single instance of representation of mlm romance is not only disrespectful to mlm fans but also hypocritical considering his past demonstrations of allyship. It honestly calls into question said allyship if he feels he has to apologize for that representation as if it's some kind of bad thing he's doing. Overall, I'm incredibly disappointed with the Frosthaven series thus far, and now have little to no motivation to continue it.

'...'Blackout'
Christopher Eccleston headlines Blackout, a three-part gritty northern drama that aired on BBC One in 2012. Eccleston stars as corrupt councilman Daniel Demoys, whose destructive behavior leads to blackouts from heavy drinking. His family, including his daughter Meg (Cooke), suffers from his alcoholism. When Daniel goes on a bender one night, it results in a torrid affair with a woman he meets in a bar and the killing of a local businessman to whom he's awarded expensive contracts, neither of which he remembers the next morning.
While the local detective (Andrew Scott) is investigating him, and Daniel himself is trying to piece together what happened while also sleeping with the detective's wife, his attempts at redemption actually get him elected mayor. The series was not particularly well-liked (I wonder why), but it did get nominated for several BAFTAs, and it's interesting to see Cooke in her first role, playing an innocent whose life is falling apart...
'Modern Love'
Modern Love was the sort of half-baked anthology series that got carelessly greenlit during the height of the streaming wars by services with too much money, too many people saying yes, and not enough long-term strategy. Inspired by the New York Times column of the same name, it supposedly explored relationships, love, and human connections, but in reality, it was just a bunch of short one-two-episode films loosely structured together that would never have been made separately. It lasted two seasons; the second hit the buzzsaw of the pandemic, was released with zero fanfare, and disappeared into the unmarketed ether.
This episode, "Hers Was a World of One," explores the experiences of a couple, Tobin (Andrew Scott) and Andy (Brandon Kyle Goodman), who yearn for a family. Although warned that using a surrogate mother may complicate the adoption process, they are matched with Karla (Cooke), a stranger who is both nomadic and homeless. She moves into their apartment, and there's some friction as they discover how vastly different their lives are...'

Sunday, May 19th 2024. Queenstown (and surrounding areas).
Final tour day! We essentially did a speedrun of several locations around Queenstown with a group called Nomad Safaris, as we were taken around by our host Jenny (who talked about her love of Aragorn at every opportunity).
For the morning part of the tour we started at Twenty Five Mile Creek, Creighton (the Dunharrow scenes from ROTK) where we could see Mt Earnslaw (which was used for the Redhorn Pass), then we worked our way around past the Dart River (although the 4x4 almost got headbutted by a cow on route) where we arrived in a place called Paradise (thanks for ruining that word, Coldplay).
Here, just north of the Diamond Lake, we saw where they had filmed Isengard, and then further along from this an area called Chinaman's Bluff (here's hoping Coldplay don't use this for a song title too). Here we could kinda see the mountain where Gandalf fought the Balrog although it was largely obscured by clouds. On the way back around we stopped at Dan's Paddock where they had filmed the Ents attack on Isengard.
For the final location of the morning we stopped at the Twelve Mile Delta Recreation Reserve where they had filmed the scenes for Ithilien, and we got to see the camp where the famous PO-TA-TOES speech happened. Back in Queenstown we all grabbed lunch at a place called Balls and Bangles (no comment), a bagel place that I had a delicious Porkzilla at (one thing I really appreciate about New Zealand is how much effort they put into their food names).
For the second half of the safari we headed to the Lake Wakatipu Viewpoint where we could see Deer Park Heights (which is where they filmed the shot of the Rohan refugees fleeing). We shared our favourite characters in the car (naturally Jenny's answer was Aragorn, although the correct answer is of course Sam) on the way to our next location which was looking down at the Kawarau River - just opposite the bungee jump place from yesterday - where they had filmed The Argonath. Jenny informed us that the production had based these statues (which sadly don't exist in real life) on Viggo Mortensen's actual father and grandfather to make his lineage as the King of Gondor even more accurate.
We then stopped at O'Callaghan Park, Tobin's Track where they had filmed Isildur's demise, before we fully went off-road in the 4x4 through the Arrow River, which felt a bit like being buckerooed inside of a tin can with wheels. This is where Arwen merked the Ringwraiths chasing after her with a big wave at the Ford of the Bruinen.
Finally, we visited Coronet Peak - a non-Rings location that took us on an ear-popping drive up a snowy mountain in which we (well, Jenny) chained up the tyres and drove us around what was essentially a very thin road circling the perimeter of the mountains with a steep drop of several hundred metres below us. The anxiety of being a couple of feet away from plummeting to our deaths probably would have felt more real had the frost not stopped our bodies from actually working properly.
After defrosting we went to dinner at Winnies, a pizza place that Martin Freeman supposedly visited during his Hobbit days (a tenuous enough link to the films for us to make a visit there). Tomorrow, Jake and I will be starting our road trip so a very brief update will likely follow.

1 2 and 3 for blorbo game please
thanks for the ask!!
1. who’s the Blorbo that you’ve never posted about on your blog?
i accumulate faves very quickly and all over the place so there are many. but for the sake of this post SURPRISE FLETCHER BEAM!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
fletcher is from Nomads by @captain-juuter (which you should totally read because we’re just a few weeks from the finale AAAAAAA) and i genuinely love the entire cast sooooooo much but he’s my little guy. he reminds me of python a little bit because he has a similar thing about being ‘ambitionless’ and they’re both archers. he just wants to do his thing and instead he has to put up with these idiots dragging him into stuff over and over again
2. who was your first ever Blorbo, who was your childhood Blorbo, and are they still your Blorbo?
the first character i remember really loving was keladry from tamora pierce’s Protector of the Small series. my first blorbo in a fandom sense was michael from be more chill (that musical got me through so much in high school…). they both still have a special place in my heart <3
3. was there any specific point / any specific moment that suddenly made this character your Blorbo, or did you slowly grow to love them more and more until they became a Blorbo to you?
for forsyth. it was so gradual i didn’t even realize it until i was knee deep in THAT’S MY GUY!! back when tobin and i were playing echoes i actually missed the forsyth and python memory prism and tobin basically made me go back for it. i didn’t want to. and now they’re my all time faves <3

So….. Nomad’s ‘Neko Owner’ is Connor and Lass’ boss…. Right? Like…?
Connor mentions to Lass that he was worried work would be insane with new management and restructuring right around the “Moving your Neko” audio per the Pali created canon Frosthaven s1 playlist so…

I have this theory that Deacon really likes Caleb’s mate. He likes that she doesn’t put up with Caleb’s crap and that she can rein him in. After everything with Tobin, she got his number from Connor and checked up on him during his recovery and apologized a million times because she brought the shotgun. Every time he reassures her it wasn’t her fault, she was protecting her mate, and that she has real skill with it. He even gives a smile sometimes when he sees her name pop up on his screen. He thinks she too sweet to be with a werewolf. No romance, just appreciation bordering on friendship.

Here’s some suggestions for members if anyone needs any! I could write pages and pages of questions. 😂
So, who gets credit for the first move—or was it actually all Cheney’s doing?
Tobin, what do you think is more exciting to see from Christen: a great goal or a great 1v1 move?
Christen, what’s the worst case of FOMO you’ve ever had?
Tobin, are you enjoying your new LA roots, or does the nomad in you still call the shots?
Tobin, how do you survive the boredom when Christen is away at training?
Christen, was more over-the-top about the struggles of being long distance between LA and the UK—you or Tobin?
Tobin, have you started picking out dog names yet, or are you still avoiding the inevitable?
Christen, who’s the better roommate- Tobin or Zelem?
Christen, is it a coincidence that Tobin and Zelem, your two favorite people, are both chatterboxes—or does that say something about you?
Back when you played against each other, did you have a ‘no talking’ rule after matches for when one of you lost?
Haha love these. Go forth, anons!

So this is a playlist including (pretty much) all of Nomads Frosthaven stuff in chronological order (based on the lore I believe) which is great for when you get to where the audios sync up.
I’d make sure you’ve listened to Deacon, Caleb, Connor, Chester, and Trey ( possibly Tobin too but you can get context from the others) cause the listeners and/or characters each get to have a part in it!
Deacon is The Vampire Waltz
Caleb is The Werewolf Saga
Chester is Were-Chester-Wolf Gaming
Connor is The Dullahan Chronicles
Trey is The Elf’s Way
hey nomad listeners i need help!!
ive dabbled in some of his stuff (red hood, mitch, harlow..) but i’ve seen that some of his videos kinda sync up like redacteds inversion did, but its all a little overwhelming and idk where to start…help please!!
