I'm alive. My attempts at arting mostly ends in birb shapies. For some reason. Happy Naruto with chicken, though.
...my wanting to art smth cottagecore with tobiruka&naruto ended with questioning Iruka's ability to kitchen, and what that means for my cottagecore life dream for them. Hm.

Tobirama/Iruka
So many things have changed around Iruka, but he wouldn't give up his new place and the very different world he lives in for anything.

Absolutely love the interchangeability of adult male pairings in Naruto. Every single one has its own fun flavor and dynamic while also feeling equally plausible in the right hands. I mean, canon really gave us several eras of good looking, competent, magic using coworkers, all of ambiguously similar age (and if they're not? Time travel!!) and refused to show any of them have serious/successful relationships with women. A menagerie of eligible bachelors with unique personalities and traumas.
I have my favorites ofc, but I love being able to go down fic and art rabbit holes and leave my trepidation at the door. Guy/Kakashi? Sure! Kakashi/Iruka? Love that! Iruka.../Tobirama Senju? From the founders era? Absolutely. This comic is good and for the next two hours I'm a tobiruka shipper. Cheers.

The Done Thing
Comic over at ao3
Tobirama/Iruka - rating T
Tobirama was from the past. It had gone surprisingly well, but, there were moments where the differences in culture between now and then tripped a conversation or situation up further than Iruka could have ever imagined.

Tobiruka headcanon: tobi absolutely rejects the existence of coffee and behaves extremely toxic and spiteful if offered one but will drink it with tears in his eyes and almost gaging if Iruka asks. Iruka is absolutely oblivious.
I absolutely think Iruka brew amazing tea end generally often prefer it. And that his gotta wake up brain go COFFEE.
So. I could imagine a scenario where he dropped off to Tobirama, without thinking of asking. And Tobirama, in polite but also oh he give _me?_, accepts it.
Then he.
Keeps accepting it.
If he had got coffee other times of the day, too, I don't think he'd have survived. Or Iruka manage to stay oblivious. But. Like this, like this I can imagine it going on for a while x'D

Them falling in love with the other's documentation and/or organisation system? And possibly the other overhearing the praise?
Also hoping you feel better today. Fever ramblings, while amusing, are shitty to have because you end up forgetting half of it (and it's usually the best ideas that go first).
Paperwork boyfriends!!!
........so I ended up going overboard and spent time scribbling inbetween food and chores and naps x3 that sparked such a trope-fest :'3
Imagine Iruka ending up in the past, staying under the radar for years. He take on jobs of scribe things, and end up somewhere in the administrative machine of growing Konoha. At one point its discovered he actually some shinobi skills, and he get funneled into archives and admin work that is in need of special care and consideration. Using experience from archives in the future, paperwork handling, and shinobi tricks he know of and learn here in the past, he end up driving the section of the archives into well efficient and useful. Coworkers just calls him the Archivist, for the fun of it because its become kinda what he done with his life, these days.
Tobirama has been busy developing a village, and is happy the administration machine seem decent working, the delegations seem to have worked.
Then, one day, or rather night because that's when he tend to manage look at personal research rather than village building, he begin realise. A different sorting system. New protective seals. New types of shelves.
At first he is annoyed, he can't find things as fast as whe they did it as he had requested when he delegated. But he can't be bothered to fix it atm. After a while, though? The changes work. The tutorial on organisation and archive seal system is very straightforward and most ppl seem to understand it easier than tobiramas private methods.
One night there is this chuunin who have stayed beyond his shift, and Tobirama takes his time to ask about what seems an unnecessary seal on some scrolls. The chuunin happily explain, that Archivist truly teach their staff well, too!
Iruka feel quite a thrill having Senju Tobirama praise his work, a bit mixed about the man didn't realise him and the Archivist is the same person. But. Well. It was praised.
Cue lovely tropes, a slow build of admiration. Tobirama grabbing iruka when he see him because the man explain so well. No one understand what iruka talk about when he think the second senju have a nice smile (he often smile over archive details, iruka would love to be receiving end of that smile, but this is great, too) because him smiling doesn't sound believable.
After a while, iruka haven't actually lied or pretend _not_ to be the Archivist, but he also haven't pushed the issue.
.......I want to read this, now, dammit x'D I order ten, ok?
(Fever is down somewhat, but body is very very present constantly, still <.> thank u for asking ♡)

I have fever and have deliriously ended up thinking of Iruka and the concept of him having more fat on him than he much likes, he would be decently well trained under it all he just happen to be one of those. And also don't say no to a treat or fifteen while grading.
And then I thought that Tobirama just happen to think it looks nice and squeezable
Iruka can't quite comprehend chiseled tobirama find it distracting, Tobirama can't quite comprehend he said it out aloud. If he thought he was gonna be less distracted once he got to know it, he was wrong. And knowing Iruka knows somehow makes him feel more embarrassed.
