Tomba! 2 coming to PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC in 2025 - Gematsu

Publisher and developer Limited Run Games, and developer Whoopee Camp will release Tomba! 2 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam in 2025, the companies announced.

Tomba! 2: The Evil Swine Return first launched for PlayStation on October 28, 1999 in Japan, followed by January 18, 2000 in North America and June 16, 2000 in Europe. This is the first time it is being ported to new platforms.

Tomba! turned PlayStation-era platforming on its ear. Tomba! 2 refined that brilliant design, adding even more freedom of movement, incorporating more inspiring new quests, and throwing in a flying squirrel suit for good measure. In Tomba! 2: The Evil Swine Return, you’ll guide a taller, more chiseled Tomba through a gauntlet of grueling challenges in a quest to save his sweetheart from the clutches of vile feral pigs.

Since RPG Classics considers most Metroidvanias to be RPGs, and GameFAQs says that the Tomba! games are Metroidvanias, I just thought I'd ask.

Synopsis :

De Marchiver à Drakonis, 5:13 des Exaltés

Starkhaven avait en cette fin d’année fêté le renouveau, la gloire, la lumière : son Prince sorti de son absence pour revenir guider sa cité, la fin des guerres, le plaisir des retrouvailles. Son Grand Tournoi avait joui d'une popularité sans égale, attirant des pérégrins de tous les continents et offrant un divertissement sans égal ; et sa nouvelle Cathédrale avait resplendi de mille feux, résonné de mille chants, atteignant les cœurs des fidèles comme des païens… « Havenoises et Havenois ! L'heure est grave. » Personne n'avait malheureusement l’idée que ce renouveau signerait le retour assourdissant de la Garde des Ombres : corbeaux de malheur, griffons de mauvais augure, annonciateurs des plus terribles des nouvelles... de la plus discutable des façons, si vous permettez à l’historien que je suis d'en juger.

Ce chapitre est désormais facultatif : il n'est pas nécessaire de connaître pour nous rejoindre.
