The Boy Friend (1971)
On the heels of his most controversial, allegedly “blasphemous” film, Ken Russell “took a break” by delivering one of his most meticulously-detailed, ambitious, and opulent films: a sprawling musical parody of the vaudevillian styles of the early 20th century and the Early Hollywood Musical…starring Twiggy! (She’s really good in it!).
Director: Ken Russell
Cinematographer: David Watkin
Starring: Twiggy, Glenda Jackson, Christopher Gable, Max Adrian, Tommy Tune, Bryan Pringle, Murray Melvin, Moyra Fraser, and Georgina Hale

Did you ever wake up late (didn't set an alarm), go to church, eat a bagel, watch the best F1 race of the season, finish your school work ahead of schedule, then watch old movies in your pajamas all day? Because 10/10 recommend. Ended with a scoop of Ben & Jerry's Half Baked 😌

Cady Huffman and the original Broadway company of The Will Rogers Follies perform the spectacular opening number, "Willamania."
"Willamania! This dance has swept the nation Willamania! Dance of communication. The flapper, city slicker, farmhand and rube, connected by signals from the vacuum tube.
Willamania! He's also hit the White House, Will sure gets around! He talks up ev'rywhere, and tells us what's what, a movie star, Ziegfield star, he's hotter than hot.
Willamania! From Cal to Pennsylvania! Willamania! Willamania! Scratch your skull, twang your voice, snap your gum for the people's choice- Brand new sage for a brand-new age, he makes our spirits climb. It's Willamania time!"

@neverevan newbie this little snippet is for you specifically <3
"I need to tell you something."
"You're a spy," Buck says matter of factly, like he's stating something as obvious as the colour of the sky or the way water's wet. "Which, I'm totally fine with it. It's, uh, it's actually kind of hot."
"Oh." Tommy stares at him, blinking once, twice. "How did you..."
"Late night Wikipedia rabbit hole session on the history of espionage?" Buck suggests, a smile pulling at the corner of his mouth, and honestly, it wouldn't surprise Tommy if he's actually done that. "Also, I've seen far too many spy movies and documentaries to not see the signs, and then I started putting two and two together."
Tommy nods, doesn't even try to deny it, thinks that of course Buck figured it out. It's not like he wouldn't have told him eventually, especially now. If he's being honest with himself, looking back on that first day they met, he probably would've told him then, too. Buck had been his target, still technically was, but truth be told, Tommy had been compromised the moment Buck turned towards him, a faint flush on his cheeks and a smile so blinding it made Tommy's belly flutter. Instinctively, his hand moves to it now, resting lightly on top of the barely there bump, not yet visible underneath his clothes.
"Okay, that's-" he says, letting out a small breath of relief he didn't even know he was holding. "I guess I have two things to tell you."
Buck tilts his head, smiling curiously. "What's, uh, what's the other thing?"
"Evan," Tommy's voice is barely more than a soft whisper, shaking slightly as he continues, "I'm- I am pregnant."
