some nice cnc overstim with rishen 209 <3, cw: cnc, so much cum, overstimulation, begging, silk slit overstimulation, rough sex, neck pinning, degreadation, humiliation, handjob ( rishen recieving )
Bated breaths fill the room, you have your pretty husband below you about to cum again for the 6th time.
Whines spill from his pretty lips and trickle into the bedsheets from below, after the light spank his cock recieved in as your own hit one of the specific bundle of nerves in his pretty little hole that had him out cold almost.
“p-please— Please- ple— Mercy, god I— mnhgh!!”
His pretty moans pull you into a state of extacy. Bathing in the feel of soft velvet walls hugging against the hard dick that fill them so well and nudge against the silk slit inside of it multiple times.
“What? Mercy?” Barks of laughter vibrate through your chest, while stroking your right hand up his chest, then up towards his neck squeeze it down against the pillows
“I thought you were the kind of whore that could take it.”
deep maroon hues make loops at the degredation that slither’s through red tinted ears.
You shake his head a little. Murmuring for him to open up his mouth. Only to spit into it the second that his lips part, enjoying the sound of his little choke.
The speed only continues to develop, as if your pace wasn’t already skull shattering enough. You go to rot away at the most intelligent brain the world has ever seen.
“—p— mhn, c-can’t take any-m-more— nhgh!”
Most satisfying of all, you managed to shut your husband’s smart mouth earlier when your dick began ramming into that silkslit of his. Oh the vulnerable spots you love to overstimulate over and over again to watch the hybrid below you spread like a million flowers all at once.
“C’mon, you know you can, slut. Cumming so much, just because of a little bit of overstim.” You cackle, only to raise a brow when he narrows his eyes and tries to let out a weak: “S-shut up.” Yet he’d fall to his doom once more at the reminder of the strong hand wrapped around his neck like the most fine jewellery.
“Gonna have to pound you a little harder if you can act bratty still.”
A loud whine, follwed by a wheeze of air passing through Rishen’s lungs like it never has. Your entire body pins him against the bed. Joined by your other rough hand jerking away at the sensitive dick between your abdomen and his.
With a rough thumb rubbing away at the silk slit right below the hood of his tip, and your leaking dick hitting against the web slit inside, he ends up passing out due the amount of pleasure gonig through him. You slow down in pace by quite a lot, humming softly as you wait for him to wake up again.
Slowly, when he comes back to consciousness, you huff with a little smirk.
“Felt that good?”
“Mhhn. . . I’ll— Get you back for this.” He laughs quietly and claws down your back, stealing a groan from your lips with his and swallowing it down, bucking his hips upwards feverishly.

🧡 Tuesday Tips #2 🧡
What Are RSS and Atom Feeds?
The Small Web movement is about reclaiming personal control over the internet, moving away from the corporate, ad-driven platforms that dominate the online space today. One of the biggest advantages of using RSS or Atom is that you can follow nearly any type of content from all over the web—blogs, news websites, YouTube channels, podcasts, even academic journals! As long as the site provides an RSS or Atom feed (which many still do), you can add it to your reader and automatically get updates when new content is published. You have full control over the flow of information, making it possible to keep up with your favorite creators and websites without being tracked or bombarded by irrelevant content suggestions (Facebook, I’m looking at you).
RSS and Atom feeds are a perfect fit for curating personal content feeds in this movement. You can even follow your friends across the small web as well! It’s like having your own personal news feed of all your friends, except there’s no corporation deciding when, how, or if you’ll even see their posts. You curate your own personalized feed, and using either RSS or Atom ensures that no algorithms can ever manipulate what you see.
So what exactly are RSS and Atom feeds? Both RSS and Atom are web feed formats used to publish updates from websites. They allow you to subscribe to blogs, news sites, podcasts, or any site with frequent updates so you can get all the latest content in one place, typically through an RSS reader.
RSS (Really Simple Syndication): One of the oldest and most popular formats for delivering content updates to users. Websites publish RSS feeds in XML format, which feed readers then display for you.
Atom: A more recent alternative to RSS, designed to address some limitations of the original RSS format. Atom feeds use XML like RSS but have a different structure and were developed to offer more features and flexibility.
Both formats serve the same purpose: they help you get content updates automatically.
Can Your RSS Reader Read Atom Feeds?
The good news is that most modern RSS readers support both RSS and Atom formats. This means you don’t have to worry about whether a website offers an RSS or Atom feed—most readers will be able to handle both seamlessly.

RSS & Atom Feeds vs. Big Tech Social Media News Feeds
Most social media platforms do not display posts in chronological order. Instead, they use algorithms to determine what content to show you based on your behavior—what you click on, like, or share. These algorithms analyze vast amounts of data and prioritize content that’s most likely to keep you engaged for as long as possible. This manipulation works to increase user engagement and, ultimately, profit for these companies, but it also has a profound impact on what we see and believe. Here are a few examples:
Echo Chambers and Polarization Algorithms tend to show us more of what we already like and agree with. Over time, this creates echo chambers—digital spaces where we are surrounded by similar viewpoints. When people only see content that aligns with their own opinions, it reinforces their beliefs and prevents exposure to different perspectives. This phenomenon can fuel political polarization, as users become more entrenched in their viewpoints, leading to heightened social division.
Amplification of Emotional and Sensational Content Algorithms are designed to promote content that triggers emotional responses, particularly outrage or fear, as these emotions tend to generate more engagement. This is why sensationalized news and emotionally charged political content often appear at the top of feeds. For example, Facebook’s own internal studies, revealed in the 2021 Facebook Papers, showed that its algorithm was amplifying divisive, angry content because it kept users engaged longer. This is particularly harmful when it comes to false narratives, as these stories are more likely to be shared when they evoke strong emotional reactions, leading to widespread public deception.
Surveillance and Data Harvesting Another corrupt aspect of Big Tech’s manipulation is the way these companies harvest vast amounts of user data to further refine their algorithms and maximize ad revenue. Companies track every click, scroll, and interaction to build a detailed profile of each user. This information is sold to advertisers or used to tailor the content in your news feed to keep you hooked. Beyond mere advertising, this data can be used for more insidious purposes, such as political manipulation. More broadly, Big Tech can shape the course of social movements by giving disproportionate visibility to certain voices or downranking others. This power can be used both to promote grassroots campaigns, but also to suppress dissenting voices.
Surveillance Capitalism This term describes how Big Tech companies monetize personal data by surveilling users and creating predictive models of human behavior. By using data harvested from news feed interactions, tech companies can sell detailed user profiles to advertisers, who use these insights to target individuals with precision ads. This economic model, built on constant surveillance, makes it nearly impossible for users to avoid being tracked online. Surveillance capitalism turns user behavior into a commodity, violating privacy in the pursuit of profit. Worse yet, this behavior-modifying system can be used to influence not just what we buy, but how we think and act.
The “Filter Bubble” Effect The term “filter bubble,” refers to the personalization algorithms used by Big Tech to show you only content that aligns with your previous preferences. This isolation of information creates a self-reinforcing loop where users are insulated from viewpoints that challenge their assumptions. This leads to a distorted reality in which everything we see online confirms our existing beliefs, regardless of whether those beliefs are factual. For instance, someone interested in a certain political ideology will be fed more and more content supporting that viewpoint, while dissenting or critical information is filtered out, creating an illusion that everyone shares the same perspective.

RSS & Atom feeds offer a stark contrast to Big Tech news feeds in several key ways:
No algorithms.
No tracking.
No targeting.
No data harvesting.
No distractions.
You’re in full control the content you consume without external corporate influences and manipulation.
RSS and Atom feeds allow you to escape the grasp of these algorithms, trackers, data harvesting, as well as corporate and political agendas. When you use an RSS reader, no one is tracking what you’re reading or recommending content to you based on targeting you and your activity. You can browse in peace, knowing you’re not being manipulated by a hidden algorithm. Using RSS and Atom feeds gives you complete control over the content you consume. Instead of relying on a platform to decide what’s relevant or interesting to you, RSS and Atom empower you to curate your own digital experience. Isn’t that great? You can subscribe to as many or as few feeds as you like, organize them into categories, and stay informed on your own terms to the content and people that matter to you most.
TIP: As you subscribe to multiple RSS feeds, organization becomes key. Most RSS readers allow you to categorize feeds, grouping them by topic or priority. For example, you might have separate folders for news, tech blogs, personal interest websites, or even specific topics like web development. Organizing your feeds ensures that you never miss important updates while keeping your content stream manageable.

Getting RSS feed URLS
In order to subscribe to a website’s RSS feed and add it to your feed reader, you will first need to get the RSS URL (aka link or web address) to the feed you want to follow. There are a few ways to do this, so if you’re totally new to RSS, let’s start with the easiest way first.
First, you’ll need to know what website or blog you want to subscribe to. If you’re not sure, try searching for it in Google.
Once you’re on the website or blog, look for the orange RSS feed icon. It looks like this: Sometimes it’s located in the top right corner of the page, or at the bottom of the page.
Click on the RSS feed icon. This will take you to a page with a lot of code on it. Don’t worry, you don’t need to understand any of this code!
Look at the address bar in your web browser. This is the URL for the RSS feed. Copy this URL.
If you’ve chosen an RSS Reader from the options previously discussed, open your RSS reader. This could be an app on your smartphone, browser extension, or a website or program on your computer.
In your RSS reader, look for an option to add a new feed. This option might be called “Add Subscription” or “Add Feed”.
Paste the URL for the RSS feed into the field provided in your RSS reader. Then click “Add” or “Subscribe”.
Congratulations! You’ve successfully subscribed to an RSS feed. Now you’ll be able to read new articles from this website or blog as soon as they’re published.
What if there is no RSS feed icon on a website I want to follow?
Unfortunately while many websites are RSS compatible, many websites do not offer RSS directly as a subscription option (ex. Youtube, certain blogs, etc). In this circumstance, it gets a little trickier if you aren’t very tech savvy. Have no fear! I will walk you through the process.
The easiest solution if you are not tech savvy is to use the Get RSS Feed URL extension below for your web browser. This extension will automatically grab the rss feed of the page you’re currently visiting (if it has an rss feed available), and then you can simply copy and paste it from your extension to your reader if your RSS reader is on PC. If your RSS reader is on mobile, however, you can use your PC to create a list of all the feed URLs you want to follow, email the list to yourself, and the copy/paste each url from your list by accessing your email from mobile.
> Get RSS Feed URL for Firefox > Get RSS Feed URL for Chrome
If you are a bit tech savvy, however, there is a more straightforward way to get RSS URLs that is much faster.
If you are on PC, check the source code: If you can’t find the RSS icon, you can check the source code of the website. Right-click on the website and select “View Page Source” or “Inspect Element”. Look for the “” tag with the type “application/rss+xml”. The URL located in the “href” attribute is the RSS feed link. Copy and paste the link into your preferred RSS reader.
One other thing you can try is experiment with adding each of the following to the end of the URL of the page you want to follow: /feed /feeds /rss /rss.xml /atom.xml .atom In most cases where an RSS feed is available, adding one of these options to the end of the page’s URL will bring up the page’s RSS feed. This method is hit or miss but always worth a try as it often comes up successful.
For example, if you wanted to subscribe to my status updates (located at https://status.cafe/users/thecozycat) you would add https://status.cafe/users/thecozycat.atom into your RSS feed reader. Or if you wanted to subscribe to my website activity feed (located at https://smallweb.thecozy.cat/activity/feed/), you would add https://smallweb.thecozy.cat/activity/feed/ into your Feeder app. Now, you’re probably asking, how do you know which one is the right one? You will need to test each of the six options in your web browser by trying each of those options at the end of the url you want to add to your feed. If it’s wrong, you’ll likely get an error page. If it’s right, you’ll see a page with code on it OR your browser may prompt you to download the feed file. That’s how you know you’ve got the right one.

How to Make a Website RSS-Compatible
If you’re building a website and want to offer RSS feeds:
WordPress: By default, WordPress generates an RSS feed at yourwebsite.com/feed. You can also customize it using plugins like RSS Post Importer.
Static Site Generators: Static site generators like Jekyll and Hugo support RSS feeds natively, allowing you to create them automatically as part of your build process.
Custom Websites: For custom sites that don’t offer automatic RSS or Atom feed functionality, you can create an XML file that complies with RSS or Atom feed standards, which includes your website’s content updates.
The RSS feed is essentially an XML file that contains metadata about your website’s posts and updates. This file is structured in a specific format so that RSS readers can interpret and display your content.
Example of a Basic RSS File:

Your Website Title

Your website description goes here

Post 1 Title

Summary of your post goes here

Step 2: Modify the Feed for Your Site
Replace the text between the , , and tags with details about your site.
Each tag within the block corresponds to a single blog post or update. Add or remove these as necessary.
Ensure the reflects the correct format as shown in the example above.
Step 3: Save and Upload Once you’ve created your RSS file, save it as rss.xml (or another name you prefer, like feed.xml). Upload this file to the root directory of your website so that users can access it via https://yourwebsite.com/rss.xml.
Making Your Feed Public
Now that your RSS file is live, you’ll want to let people know they can subscribe. Add a link to the RSS feed URL on your website, usually in the header, sidebar, or footer (though, you can place it wherever you like). Many sites use an orange RSS icon, which is easily recognizable.
Keep It Updated
Since this is a static feed, you’ll need to manually add new posts to the RSS file as you create them. Simply update the feed XML file with new
blocks whenever you add new content, then re-upload the file.

Big Tech and RSS/Atom Restrictions
RSS and Atom are incredibly useful, though you’re probably wondering: if it’s so great, why aren’t more people aware and using it? Personally, and this is just my belief due to what I’ve witnessed with big tech censorship over the years; it is by design that it is not often spoken about anymore. Big tech (and/or “big brother”) companies want everyone to stay stuck in their own information silos, because it is much easier for them to control narratives and the information you consume there, as well as have more control over your private data for their own capitalistic gains. Those who control the flow of information ultimately control the minds of the masses, and that control can make them a heck of a lot of money.
Unfortunately it is big tech websites such as Facebook that block people’s access to retrieving RSS/Atom feeds from their websites, because if they allowed you access to their RSS/Atom feeds from outside of their website, then they wouldn’t be able to contain you to their controlled information silos, track you, or profit off of you using your data. It’s against their own best interests to allow you this freedom, as keeping you contained to their walled gardens allows them to continue their data harvesting monopolies. So that is probably the biggest downside about RSS and Atom feeds when it comes to big tech social media platforms, is that if the information you care most about comes from your loved ones whom are contained within the walled gardens of these big tech social platforms, you won’t be able to retrieve RSS/Atom to create feeds from your friends there.
Not all social platforms are like this, however. You will just have to experiment with retrieving the feeds from different platforms to discover which big tech platforms have blocked RSS access and which ones haven’t.
Conclusion
I think that covers all the bases! The reason for this article, while a bit lengthy, I feel it is important to teach those who may not be tech-savvy in simple terms that are easy to understand. I think it is important for everyone to know how to use RSS and Atom, and create their own feeds independent of Big Tech social media platforms. Especially in this day and age where Big Tech has so much control and grasp on the information we consume and our private data is so heavily abused, there has never been a better time to start using RSS and Atom feeds. Aside from TheCozy.Cat being my own personal space, I also want it to double as my personal contribution to helping folks break free from their relationships with corrupt corporate entities.
If you have any questions or suggestions to add to this post that could make it even better, leave me a comment letting me know! As I receive feedback, I will make adjustments accordingly to make this article as simple as possible for those who are just getting started with RSS/Atom feeds.
And as always, if you found all this information useful, be sure to bookmark this page so you can easily find it again. Consider sharing it with your friends as well so they too can discover how to curate their own RSS and Atom feeds!

Third part of the "Changeling/Mimic Sky Kid Creature" Series
HIDDEN FOREST
I am happy to present you the Creatures living in the dark and misty depth of the hidden forest!
The hidden forest is a dark and vast maze of trees, shallow rivers and many caves to explore. The heavy rain and the sun being hidden behind dark clouds and gigantic trees cause the forest to be cast in a constant dimness.
The dark habitat and the constant rain reminded me of the rainforest so what better adaption for the little critters would it be than the one comparable to amphibians?
Most of their features are inspired by frogs plus a bit of a snake like behaviour here and there.
The Frog-Kids live in every nook and cranny of the hidden forest. They climb to the highest top of the trees, crawl through the many dark caves scattered throughout the realm and swim through the shallow rivers and ponds formed by the constant rain.
If not being on a hunt, Frog-Kids wander the land as pairs, picking one companion during their young years and staying with their choice for the rest of their life. Together with their chosen second half they patrol the woods, climb the hills and trees and sleep together in the shallows of the rivers and ponds.
Because of the constant rain, the capacity of normal hearing got quite useless, the continuous pattering of water drops drowning out most of the sounds. As consequence, the Frog-Kids ears changed over time to help filtering out the most important noises. They are most comfortable to move around on all fours, making it easy to jump onto higher places or into the water quickly, if someone would be walking into their paths.
If they do decide to walk on two legs, when disguised as normal Skylings, they tend to walk hunched over, keeping their arms in the front to fall back on all fours at any moment.

Compared to an average tall Skyling, Frog-Kids are often half a head or a full head taller than them. Combined with them rarely wearing moth clothing, it doesn't pull any attention to them, thanks to the fact that vets or butterflies tend to change their hight during their journey. As a result, they are being perceived as one of them.
Due to the generally wetter environment and their adaptation to spending quite a lot time in the water, their hands and feet developed webbing. As consequence of this, they are incredible fast swimmers, unbeatable if you would try to escape them if you are unlucky enough to fall into the murky waters.
Because of the webbing, their gloves are not able to properly hide those features and you'll be able to see the webbing even through their disguise.
Because of the generally dark atmosphere in the rainy forest, the Frog-Kids especially pick out Skylings with dark clothing and masks to steal their disguises from. The dim colours letting them blend in better than the brighter orange-beige of the moths.
They are not able to wear any capes as those tend to melt in the rain of the Hidden Forest, it being one of the reasons that this realm is known to be dangerous to venture through for young Skylings.
Additionally, the absence of the cape is causing older, more advanced Skylings to feel a need of protection if they cross paths with the Frog-Kids, and they tend to stay on the ground to help them, making it easier for the Creatures to guide them into uncharted parts of the forest, just to either eat them or leave them lost in the dark as entertainment.
Even if Frog-Kids are venturing the Forest as a pair, if it´s about hunting for food, they exclusively do it alone. It is not just being more efficient but also prevents any competitive behaviour between themselves, which could cause a fight about resources and end in attacking each other.
The Frog-Kids have no teeth but instead use their long and extendable tongue for hunting. Their jaw, similar to that of a snake, is able to dislodge and widen their mouth significantly, making it easy to swallow their victims whole.
The tip of their very strong tongue can light up brightly, comparable to the few lanterns scattered around the forest. When hunting, they usually position themselves higher up on one of the mushrooms growing on the trees and let their tongue lure some unsuspecting Skylings to them, which just think they found a light source to recharge their own light.
As soon as the Skylings get close enough, the Frog-Kids tongue shoots out and envelope their pray. Once they have you in their grasp, it is impossible to wiggle your way out of it again. Just seconds after capturing you, they swallow you whole and digest you over the next days.
Their diet consists of Skylings exclusively, but due to the way of consuming them, they keep their hunts for them to more or less once every 2 weeks.
Frog-Kids are sinister, dangerous beings. If you are encountering a single one, it means they are on the hunt for food. If you cross paths with a pair of them, it means they want to have some fun getting you lost in the darkest, unknown corners of the Forest. Either way, meeting any of their kind is a bad sign for moths as well as vets. If you venture the forest during the night and see a bright light slightly moving between the trees, it is advised to keep your distance, even if your own light is at its lowest. After all, you´ll never know for sure if you´re not being watched from above, observed to turn your back and open up a chance to snatch you from the muddy floor of the forest...
Signs to distinguish a Frog-Kid from a Sky-Kid:
no cape
webbing between thumb and hand visible
walking around lightly hunched over
wearing dark masks and clothes
skin color is a musky dark green

Mini React.js Tips #1 | Resources ✨
I thought why not share my React.js (JavaScript library) notes I made when I was studying! I will start from the very beginning with the basics and random notes I made along the way~!
Up first is what you'll need to know to start any basic simple React (+ Vite) project~! 💻
What you'll need:
node.js installed >> click
coding editor - I love Visual Studio Code >> click
basic knowledge of how to use the Terminal
What does the default React project look like?
Step-by-Step Guide
[ 1 ] Create a New Folder: The new folder on your computer e.g. in Desktop, Documents, wherever that will serve as the home for your entire React project.
[ 2 ] Open in your coding editor (will be using VSCode here): Launch Visual Studio Code and navigate to the newly created folder. I normally 'right-click > show more options > Open with Code' on the folder in the File Explorer (Windows).
[ 3 ] Access the Terminal: Open the integrated terminal in your coding editor. On VSCode, it's at the very top, and click 'New Terminal' and it should pop up at the bottom of the editor.
[ 4 ] Create the actual React project: Type the following command to initialize a new React project using Vite, a powerful build tool:
npm create vite@latest
[ 5 ] Name Your Project: Provide a name for your project when prompted.
[ 6 ] Select 'React' as the Framework: Navigate through the options using the arrow keys on your keyboard and choose 'React'.
[ 7 ] Choose JavaScript Variant: Opt for the 'JavaScript' variant when prompted. This is the programming language you'll be using for your React application.
[ 8 ] Navigate to Project Folder: Move into the newly created project folder using the following command:
cd [your project name]
[ 9 ] Install Dependencies: Execute the command below to install the necessary dependencies for your React project (it might take a while):
npm install
[ 10 ] Run the Development Server: Start your development server with the command (the 'Local' link):
npm run dev
[ 11 ] Preview Your Project: Open the link provided in your terminal in your web browser. You're now ready to witness your React project in action!
Congratulations! You've successfully created your first React default project! You can look around the project structure like the folders and files already created for you!

I'm a newbie writer and something I struggle with is that my ideas are too big and I feel overwhelmed, and I never really had a short story idea that I liked. I'm already trying to consume short stories (written works and video fiction), so I wanted to know if you have other tips to develop small ideas, ideas better suited to short stories.
Newbie Writer Struggling to Write Short Fiction
Short fiction is a great way to practice writing, but if you struggle to come up with ideas, that doesn't help much. One thing that can help is to remember that short stories don't work like longer stories/novels. You're not developing a whole cast and world around a big conflict. Short stories are pictures within pictures.
If The Hunger Games was a short story, it would probably be Katniss waking up, walking through her district, hunting with Gale, and then Prim getting chosen in the Reaping. That would be the whole story. She was so fixated on the fear of herself or Gale getting chosen--which there was such high odds of happening because she'd put her name in so many times in exchange for food stamps--the last thing she ever expected was her sister being chosen. That's the twist... that's the point of the whole short story. If Twilight were a short story, it would probably start with Bella's first day at Forks High School, would follow her introduction to the Cullens, the weirdness with Edward as her crush slowly developed, and would probably end with her finding out he's a vampire. It could even go a little further to where they date, then Edward's brother almost kills her, and he breaks up with her in the middle of the woods--gone from her life as quickly as he got there.
If you're struggling to find short story ideas that you like, try looking for writing prompts. They're all over tumblr, you can find books filled with them, there are lists of them all over the web. Writing prompts can fire up your imagination without you having to pluck an entire idea out of the air. Another option is to do memoir-style short stories. Instead of trying to write something more elaborate, just take a notable experience you've had in life and... if you want, you can fictionalize it. For example, maybe you have a funny memory rooted in a friend's birthday party. Write about that. If you want to, you can even fictionalize it... what if it happened to someone else? What if the funny thing that happened was something different? What if the outcome was different?
The thing to remember is this: when you're writing short stories for writing practice, they don't have to be perfect or even good. You're not writing these for publication or sharing. You're writing these to learn how to craft sentences, write description, develop characters, and flesh out setting. The first time you take a lump of clay and try to make a bowl, it's not going to be amazing. Neither will the second, third, or fourth one. But as you master the basics, learn new methods, get better with tools and find new ones, your bowls will get better and better until they're something you can share. You have to let yourself make some misshapen and unappealing bowls if you want to learn to make nice ones. Writing works the same way. :)

do you have any tips for scanning old magazines/catalogs? i'd like to help archive some of the publications i have, but i don't really know where to start ʕ´•ᴥ•`ʔ
i'm mostly concerned about binding (especially on glbs) and what scanner specifications to look at, but any other advice or resources would be appreciated too!
So, I'm not actually an archivist, I'm a web developer by trade. I own a relatively inexpensive flatbed printer/scanner, mostly because it was what I could go out to a physical store and buy for relatively cheap when I started out scanning old magazines and catalogs.
For anything that is staple bound, like a magazine, and can be put flat on a table while open, scanning is relatively easy. You just need a flatbed scanner that is bigger than the pages, and a book to put on top of the lid to keep it flat (don't use too heavy of a book or you will damage the scanner 1-2 magazines is usually good. Also, don't forget they are there, open the lid and fling them across the room). Line up a corner of the page on the corner of the scanner and you should be golden. Scan in photo mode if your scanner software has options. Ideally, for things like the GLB, you would either want a copy you can destroy (which I kind of think is what some of the 'latest magazines' scanning farms were doing in the 2010s) and to carefully unbind the whole thing and scan the pages flat (which I have no personal interest in doing because destroying books pains me and I'm not trying to digitize "clean" digital copies for any professional reason). OR, my understanding is you want something with a V-shaped cradle of some type that is specialized for scanning books, either as an actual scanner or a camera setup with software. The problem is last time I looked those were like 10K and up if you get a piece of specialized equipment.

I've vaguely dabbled with the idea of doing a very hacky version of a DIY build with boxes cut down to the right angle and some panes of glass and my DSLR for my pink house catalogs because they are too big but I never really got it fully figured out. I will admit, I haven't tried super hard. I kept getting reflections, and I had to worry about the glass scratching the pages, and I didn't feel like getting a proper light.... I know I should really try again, and try a little harder, but it's a lot and I have a lot of other stuff I need to do so it just keeps getting kicked down the road.
That said, if you want to get into trying a DIY build, there is a whole community of people who were doing that in the 2010s that have posted good info on types of glass and way more detailed suggestions than I can make here: https://diybookscanner.org/forum/index.php This box scanner is essentially what I was trying to set up and it theoretically should work, I'm pretty sure my whole issue is that I was trying to do it all quickly at like midnight one day and did not have the right lighting and didn't try too hard to fix that. Like... I could have tried a lot harder than I did https://www.instructables.com/Bargain-Price-Book-Scanner-From-A-Cardboard-Box/ (good pictures of one here: https://diybookscanner.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1202)
And then I needed to take it apart because I needed the table back...
But yeah, if you don't want to invest thousands or destroy them, I would say try a cardboard box scanner for things like the GLB, see if you can get it to work for you?
And then for things that can go flat, a combo scanner/printer that is good enough for photographs will be more than good enough for the print resolution of most magazines and the scanner/printer combos are way cheaper than dedicated scanners because they think you are going to become an ink customer and buy printer ink, so they make it cheaper. But the joke is on them. My combo scanner printer has never had ink in it before. (Note: do read reviews and make sure it's not stupid enough to require it's ink to be full to scan. I wouldn't put it past some companies to add that to their software). If you are really passionate about this, there are a lot of people who are way more dedicated to archival book scanning who have developed all sorts of DIY solutions for speeding up the process, automating parts of it, etc, and searching for terms like DIY book scanner should get you in the right place on the internet.

For years, a mysterious figure who goes by the handle Stern led the Trickbot ransomware gang and evaded identification—even as other members of the group were outed in leaks and unmasked. This week German authorities revealed, without much fanfare, who they believe that enigmatic hacker kingpin to be: Vitaly Nikolaevich Kovalev, a 36-year-old Russian man who remains at large in his home country.
Closer to home, WIRED revealed that Customs and Border Protection has mouth-swabbed 133,000 migrant children and teenagers to collect their DNA and uploaded their genetic data into a national criminal database used by local, state, and federal law enforcement. As the Trump administration’s migrant crackdown continues, often justified through invocations of crime and terrorism, WIRED also uncovered evidence that ties a Swedish far-right mixed-martial-arts tournament to an American neo-Nazi “fight club” based in California.
For those seeking to evade the US government surveillance, we offered tips about more private alternatives to US-based web browsing, email, and search tools. And we assembled a more general guide to protecting yourself from surveillance and hacking, based on questions our senior writer Matt Burgess received in a Reddit Ask Me Anything.
But that's not all. Each week, we round up the security and privacy news we didn't cover in depth ourselves. Click the headlines to read the full stories. And stay safe out there.
A Hacker May Have Deepfaked Trump’s Chief of Staff in a Phishing Campaign
The FBI is investigating who impersonated Susie Wiles, the Trump White House’s chief of staff and one of the president’s closest advisers, in a series of fraudulent messages and calls to high-profile Republican political figures and business executives, The Wall Street Journal reported. Government officials and authorities involved in the probe say the spear-phishing messages and calls appear to have targeted individuals on Wiles’ contact list, and Wiles has reportedly told colleagues that her personal phone was hacked to gain access to those contacts.
Despite Wiles’ reported claim of having her device hacked, it remains unconfirmed whether this was actually how attackers identified Wiles’ associates. It would also be possible to assemble such a target list from a combination of publicly available information and data sold by gray-market brokers.
“It's an embarrassing level of security awareness. You cannot convince me they actually did their security trainings,” says Jake Williams, a former NSA hacker and vice president of research and development at Hunter Strategy. “This is the type of garden-variety social engineering that everyone can end up dealing with these days, and certainly top government officials should be expecting it.”
In some cases, the targets received not just text messages but phone calls that impersonated Wiles’ voice, and some government officials believe the calls may have used artificial intelligence tools to fake Wiles’ voice. If so, that would make the incident one of the most significant cases yet of so-called deepfake software being used in a phishing attempt.
It’s not yet clear how Wiles’ phone might have been hacked, but the FBI has ruled out involvement by a foreign nation in the impersonation campaign, the bureau reportedly told White House officials. In fact, while some of the impersonation attempts appeared to have political goals—a member of Congress, for instance, was asked to assemble a list of people Trump might pardon—in at least one other case the impersonator tried to trick a target into setting up a cash transfer. That attempt at a money grab suggests that the spoofing campaign may be less of an espionage operation than a run-of-the-mill cybercriminal fraud scheme, albeit one with a very high-level target.
“There’s an argument here for using something like Signal—yes, the irony—or another messaging platform that offers an independent form of authentication if users want to validate who they’re talking to,” Hunter Strategy's Williams says. “The key thing as always is for government officials to be using vetted tools and following all federally mandated protocols rather than just winging it on their own devices.”
Iranian Man Behind Baltimore Ransomware Attack Pleads Guilty
The 2019 ransomware attack against the city government of Baltimore represents one of the worst municipal cybersecurity disasters on record, paralyzing city services for months and costing taxpayers tens of millions of dollars. Now the Department of Justice has unexpectedly revealed that it arrested one of the hackers behind that attack, 37-year-old Sina Gholinejad, in North Carolina last January, and that he has pleaded guilty in court. Gholinejad has admitted to being involved in the larger Robbinhood ransomware campaign that hit other targets, including the cities of Greenville, North Carolina, and Yonkers, New York. It’s still far from clear how Gholinejad was identified or why he traveled from Iran to the US, given that most ransomware criminals are careful to remain in countries that don’t have extradition agreements with the US government and are thus beyond US law enforcement’s reach. Indeed, the indictment against him names several unnamed co-conspirators who may be still at large in Iran.
Russia’s Nuclear Blueprints Exposed in Huge Document Leak
More than 2 million documents left exposed in a public database have revealed Russia’s nuclear weapons facilities in unprecedented levels of detail, according to reporting this week by Danish media outlet Danwatch and Germany’s Der Spiegel. Reporters examined the huge trove of documents relating to Russian military procurement—as Russian authorities slowly restricted access—and found blueprints for nuclear facilities across the country. Experts called the leak an unparalleled breach of Russia’s nuclear security, with the data potentially being incredibly useful for foreign governments and intelligence services.
The documents show how Russia’s nuclear facilities have been rebuilt in recent years, where new facilities have been created, detailed site plans including the locations of barracks and watchtowers, and the locations of underground tunnels connecting buildings. There are descriptions of IT systems and security systems, including information on surveillance cameras, electric fences being used, and the alarm systems in place. “It’s written explicitly where the control rooms are located, and which buildings are connected to each other via underground tunnels,” Danwatch reports.
Cops Used License Plate Recognition Cameras in Search for Woman Who Got an Abortion
License-plate-recognition cameras are creating huge databases of people’s movements across America—capturing where and when cars are traveling. For years there have been concerns that the cameras could be weaponized by law enforcement officials or private investigators and turned against those seeking abortions or providing abortion-related care. Officials from Johnson County Sheriff’s Office in Texas—where nearly all abortions are illegal—searched 83,000 Flock license-plate reader cameras at the start of this month while looking for a woman they claim had a self-administered abortion, 404 Media reported this week.
Sheriff Adam King said that the officials weren’t trying to “block her from leaving the state” and were searching for the woman as her family was concerned about her safety. However, experts say that conducting a search across the entire United States shows the sprawling dragnet of license-plate-reader cameras and highlights how those seeking abortions can be tracked. “The idea that the police are actively tracking the location of women they believe have had self-administered abortions under the guise of ‘safety’ does not make me feel any better about this kind of surveillance,” Eva Galperin, director of cybersecurity at the Electronic Frontier Foundation told 404 Media.
Investment Scam Company Linked to $200 Million in Losses Sanctioned by US Government
Philippines-based company Funnull Technology and its boss, Liu Lizhi, have been sanctioned by the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control for their links to investment and romance scams, which are often referred to as “pig-butchering” scams. “Funnull has directly facilitated several of these schemes, resulting in over $200 million in US victim-reported losses,” OFAC said in a statement announcing the sanctions. The company purchases IP addresses from major cloud service providers and then sells them to cybercriminals who could use them to host scam websites—OFAC says Funnull is “linked to the majority” of investment scam websites reported to the FBI. In January independent cybersecurity journalist Brian Krebs detailed how Funnull was abusing Amazon’s and Microsoft’s cloud services.

If you're starting your e-commerce journey and feeling overwhelmed by all the platform options—don't worry, you're not alone. Two names dominate the conversation: Shopify and WordPress (with WooCommerce).

WordPress (WooCommerce): Powerful, But Not Beginner-Friendly
WordPress is an amazing platform... if you're building a blog or you’re already experienced with web development. But for e-commerce newbies, it can feel like you're building a house from scratch.
Why WordPress Might Be a Struggle for Beginners
Complex Setup: You'll need to buy hosting, install WordPress, then install WooCommerce, then configure it all manually.
Plugin Overload: Want a feature? You’ll likely need to install a plugin. And another. And another. Then update them constantly.
Security Risks: If you don’t stay on top of updates and patches, your site could be vulnerable.
Slow Support: There’s no dedicated support team—just forums or your hosting provider.
Not Built for E-commerce First: WordPress is a blogging tool at heart.
WooCommerce makes it work for selling, but it’s not seamless.
So Which One Should You Choose?
If you're:
A beginner with no coding experience,
A dropshipper who wants fast supplier integration,
Or just someone who wants to get your first product online this week, not next month...
Go with Shopify.

How Natalio Amado Fakhre Helps Brands Dominate Google Rankings Across Europe
An organization's visibility on Google can make or break its success in the crowded digital marketplace. Across Europe, one digital strategist is helping companies rise to the top of search results—Natalio Amado Fakhre. Based in Madrid, Spain, Natalio is known for his sharp SEO strategies, social media expertise, and brand-building capabilities that consistently deliver results.
Let’s examine how Natalio helps brands claim top positions on Google and build sustainable search engine dominance.
Who Is Natalio Amado Fakhre?
Natalio Amado Fakhre is a Madrid-based digital marketing expert focused on SEO, social media marketing, and branding. Over the years, he has worked with businesses across multiple European markets—developing and executing data-driven campaigns that directly increase visibility, traffic, and conversions.
His approach is technical, creative, and laser-focused on what Google values most: quality content, authority, and user experience.
Foundations of His SEO Success
1. Fixing What Holds Brands Back
Natalio starts with deep technical SEO audits, identifying and resolving issues that hinder performance:
Page speed and core web vitals
Broken links and crawl errors
Mobile responsiveness
Duplicate content and indexing gaps
These elements lay the groundwork for everything else—because even the best content can’t rank if a site’s foundation is flawed.
2. Keyword Targeting That Matches User Intent
Ranking is only valuable if it matches what users are actually searching for. Natalio conducts intent-focused keyword research, building strategies that cover:
Informational queries (e.g., guides, tips)
Transactional searches (e.g., buy, hire, services)
Regional keywords tailored for each European market
This precision helps generate not just traffic—but qualified, conversion-ready visitors.
3. Strategic On-Page Optimization
Every page is optimized with:
Clear heading structures (H1-H3)
Internal linking to boost topical relevance
Optimized images with alt tags
Schema markup to improve search visibility
His focus on semantic SEO ensures that content communicates value to both users and Google’s crawlers.
Localizing SEO for European Markets
Natalio understands that SEO in Europe isn't one-size-fits-all. Search behaviors, languages, and competitors vary across countries. He tailors strategies with:
Local keyword research (Spanish, French, German, etc.)
Region-specific backlink outreach
Hreflang implementation for multilingual targeting
This attention to regional detail gives his clients an edge in markets like France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and beyond.
Creating Content That Drives Rankings
Tone and Voice
Natalio builds a consistent brand voice that aligns with each client’s identity. Whether it's professional, approachable, or bold, the tone remains uniform across:
Blog posts
Service pages
Landing pages
Social content
Content Formats That Work
He favors high-performing formats such as:
1000–2000 word blog posts
How-to guides
Comparison articles
Case studies
Listicles and resource hubs
These formats naturally earn backlinks, increase time on page, and support Google’s E-E-A-T principles (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trust).
Visual & Interactive Elements for Better UX
User experience is now a direct ranking factor. Natalio boosts engagement by incorporating:
Optimized Images: Branded graphics with alt text and compression
Infographics: Great for link-building and quick summaries
Embedded Videos: Increases time-on-site and builds trust
Interactive FAQs and Sliders: Enhances UX and improves mobile engagement
This reduces bounce rates and encourages deeper content exploration.
Safe, Scalable Link-Building
Natalio doesn’t chase shortcuts. His white-hat link-building tactics include:
Guest posting on relevant, high-authority blogs
Securing digital PR coverage in European outlets
Collaborating with influencers for natural link placements
Building citation links for local SEO strength
These efforts improve domain authority and create ranking durability—especially useful in algorithmic volatility.
Performance Tracking That Matters
Every strategy is backed by clear reporting. Natalio tracks and shares progress through:
Google Analytics 4
Google Search Console
SEO tools like Semrush or Ahrefs
Custom dashboards tracking key KPIs
