Vera - Dirty Thoughts.

Vera would never admit it but she does catch herself thinking about Miranda being dominant towards her, Vera is very used to having to be tough and bossy towards others so Miranda in a sense offers someone who Vera can let take the rains without feeling bad since after all Miranda is a real princess so that removes any of the social shame Vera would fear otherwise. So a lot of things of Miranda ordering her around or "using" her for sex (aka in this context fucking Vera's brains out without too much care, just enough for it to be safe, sane and consensual.)

Hibiscus “Hibi” Aquino

Hibi is a skilled magic user, she wants to one day get to show off these skills but her mothers have kept her away from real conflict. Not seen is her strong tail like Miri’s and her retractable webbing for her hands to help her be better able to swim despite the more humanoid form she has. I should also note that the scaring on her neck came as a result of either some sort of attack or incident involving the wrong type of water.

Proteus Oberlin

Proteus is a bit of a spoiled boy, he’s got the same desire for power as Vera & has been spoiled a lil bit rotten by Miri. But like the rest of the Oberlin’s he’s got a intense loyalty and love for his family and at the end of the day he just wants to insure that they’re well. He has a lot more merfolk traits than a picrew would allow for & I’ll also note that unlike Vera what grows out of his head is something like a Eel

This kid is the one I have the least for, they’d look akin to a Merfolk ghost, though since they were born like this they’re a spirit not a ghost. They’re quite the wild child and enjoys exploring the world around them. I think Polly would want Miri to name the kid.

It was after schooling had finished for the daya lot ofnother students would stay at the academy for awhile yet but Vera was not one of them, she had some messy truff to sort out across town.

Still she had time to say bye to her friends and to her partner Miranda, it was just a simple "I'll see you tomorrow." But Miranda had a way of making basic interactions so sweet that they would live rent free in Vera's head for at least months.

She felt Miranda's touch her own for a moment, she always felt a bit soft when she felt Mirandaso close and she leanedin dor that brief kiss, barely tasting Miranda'sstrawberry lipgloss before their lips parted.

So I haven't talked much about it, but Dahila's powers & magic lean towards water instead of the common fire of demons. It's be fun to come up in a thread with ether her showing these powers off or using 'em to help Miri with something.

I wanna do more threads where Dahila gets to show how her love langue is acts of service and show why that is.

On the darker side I do think it'd be important for them to talk about how likely it is that Dahila either might have to kill one of their shared close friends or might die in the war herself.

I feel like Dread!Oz & Miri would ether get along great or it'd end terribly, either way I'd love to see how it'd go someday.

Anything that's happy, fr so many of our threads for these two are dark or have the undercurrent of darkness (like the prom has the undercurrent of Polly's meta awareness and the mental harm that does her)

My version of Polly comes from a beach town, so it'd be cool for her to show Miri the land side of where she's from and then get to see the sea side she had never gotten to before due to Miri

Someday 'd like to see Polly be perhaps called out for how much she uhh fucks up? There has been a few times now where Miri is freaking out and Polly's reaction has been akin to putting a band-aid on beheading. She needs to be sat down sometime and given like a talk down on what to do in these cases so she can support Miri better.

I just love seeing 'em interact.

But also it'd be great if someday they talked about the definitions of human v monster and why it's like that but also how it is confusing and n both of their cases they're in grey areas (Merfollk not having interacted with humans meaning they lack the same history of other monsters, meanwhile Salil is mixed and has genes of both human and what would be called a monster (though Fae are also in the grey area to a degree since unlike monsters they have their own unshared space to call home)

Miri deserves to bite him (aggressively, unfriendly)

I know you don't use canon much, but I do love the idea of them plotting out a snowball fight war (though I think they both will be needing space heaters)

I live for Vera ending up flustered due to Miri.

As a whole more soft moments between them would be nice, Vera doesn't often allow herself to be soft (though that happens a lot on this blog)

Hope learns more about why Miri reacts the way she does to her

The air smelled of perfume and alcohol and great puffs of smoke that themselves were far more expensive than they deserved — which, really, was just typical for events like this.

VIP areas were likewise, always either a hit or miss. This time, they had elected for the low ceilings and glittering crystalline lights, which served well enough to evoke a feeling of closeness, by whatever approximation. It didn't really light the place that well, which cast everything into a golden hue, all cream and warm dayglow shadows and haze that befitted the literal clouds wafting through the air. Waiters still bobbed through the hallways, decadent though they were, carrying with them drinks and snacks and other types of delights that could be secreted away to this private cluster of rooms. The walls were thick, that was nice, even though the doors were cast open on several, which defeated the purpose.

Inside were the usual types. Sure, it couldn't be said what was going in in the rooms with their doors closed, but it was pretty clear for those for whom it was open.

Monstropolis' elite. Monsters of a particular life, done up in all the dressings of their positions, mostly leaning back into chairs and getting too flirty and too tipsy and being eager to chat up their company.

Those who had been invited, anyhow, and those who decided to come.

That did influence their behavior, as sure it was a professional junction, but they knew what the implication was. Something a little more lax. Something where the rules were a little more pliable.

Somewhere that someone simply vanishing off into one of the VIP lounges and never being seen again was only just expected, for a night like this, for company like this.

And they could be very pliable, if they were in the right mood.

It may have been as Vera passed one of those open rooms that she would have spotted Miranda. Not like she was constantly keeping an eye on Vera, after all, Miranda had her business and she was keen to keep it separate from her pleasures. Even something like this, acceptable and largely inoffensive — it was just safer to avoid mixing the two.

The room she was in was laid out with low-sitting furniture, arranged around squatting tables that hugged the ground, piled with crystal cups that swam with edible gold flake. A noticeable amount of smoke was coming from this room, decked out in finery to match the unmistakable form of the merprincess, sitting center in the room, practically holding her court. Up at her watched a collection of the other VIPs, staring up in drunken or hazy admiration as she tapered off of some discussion held, some trying to lean against her sides, begging her attention, a queen above her kingdom.

Her attire was more typical of her kingdom now. A dozen gold chains and jewelry to sit against her scales, clinking against each other in musical tones, gemstones criss-crossed her body until she glimmered. Fine forget-me-not blue silks hung off of her, like solid mist that shown in rainbow hues in the light, cascading down her body into waves of a dress, turning a deeper navy, kicking up white manes of diamonds sewn into the very tail-ends. Every part of her glittered, gleamed, shone with light, shifted and changed and swayed with every single movement or breath of her body.

And yet none were matched by those slit-pupiled eyes, widening ever so slightly, as she glimpsed Vera through the doorway.

An apex predator, sat in her territory of choice.

"Vera Oberlin!" came the whistle-click of her voice, so musical and slight and yet cutting through everything else like a knife, demanding attention, forcing the world to pay heed to her command. "Come in!! Join us, I did not think you were going to be here tonight!"

It was events like this, among the rich and more importantly powerful that Vera lived for, the glitz and glamor would for as much as she’d never show it would never grow old to her. Vera was making her way though VIP area she knew there was some old money that owed her for a ‘favor’ she had done for them, and and she wanted was simply to get a spot among their crowed for the night, it was a good open door and she was sure from there she could find herself a way into more interesting company for the night.

She walked brisk, the glitter on her black dress sparkling with the lights as she passed, by no means was she in a rush but... Well she had places to be... At least until she saw someth- No someone that caught her eyes right away, hearing a hiss from above her ears, there was a familiar smell and sight.

It was Miranda, in what was a impressive sight given the notoriety of all the clingily VIPs hanging on her every word, among her own company and bracket within the pecking order or social hierarchy Vera could pull something close to half this sort of attention but here, among those much closer to the top it was something she was still working towards.

Vera couldn’t help but stare for a moment, a small part in envy but mostly it was more a creeping feeling of blood in her cheeks and awe that kept her gaze for so long, normally she’d not show such awe in a place like this but... It was Miranda, a friend, someone from school... Vera didn’t have anything really to prove to Miranda at least not here and right now.

“Miranda Vanderbilt!” Vera’s tone was decidedly cheery, like greeting an old friend which well was true to a degree, Vera had known Miranda for awhile, and was friends with her.

“Oh I won’t miss an event like this for the world, did have to cancel on some other event but well, I can see I made the right choice.” Vera walked in, giving a warm smile to Miranda, she stopped near Miranda and gestured her head to the seating, not sure where would be best for her to sit.
