I wonder if people understand that the general consensus about magic in Thedas points to the upholding of the Circles (but the general public do not know if the Templars' abuses obviously) and that people do fear magic...like that a societal idea...however you usually end up with a group of people who are more open and accepting magic

Unless I'm reading into it completely wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

#like for example: Sera does NOT like magic openly and loudly #Iron Bull (post the time altering magic thing) says something about not liking that about magic (the weird shit) and would rather have #fireballs thrown at him #Varric will say he's sick of Templars and mages #Fenris obviously has a distain (fear) of magic because his entire backstory is him being a slave to a magister (mage)#Sebastian was raised as nobility aka he was raised in a (relatively) normal environment so he might have views about the dangers of magic #despite him also truly believing in his holy heart that magic is a gift not a curse (which is a liberal pov)#i remember in the Cirlce of Magi origins Owain (Tranquil dude) will tell you that he WILLINGLY became Tranquil because he feared either the #demons or his own magic (I can't remember seriously)#fuck even Meredith will tell you that her sister was a mage and the family tried to keep it a secret but then her sister turned into an #abomination and killed a bunch of people before she was killed #the people of Thedas fear magic #rambles by ki #dragon age
