A concept: one of those reality shows where rich people go east for a ✨ spiritual retreat✨ except it's Eastern Europe. For just 20,000$ you get to spend a month in a village with no WiFi, helping someone's grandmother take care of her garden and make banitsa (a very popular Balkan pastry).

I went on a spiritual retreat over the weekend. The goal for me was really just reconnection with the spirit and with myself. We were up in the Cascades. There was collecting of pinecones and sitting by water and touching trees. I also was gifted a wonderful (for me) book. Read it all in one evening. It was absolutely delightful. I use weed to medicate my chronic (haha) illness and to help with my anxiety. I know that it is not for everyone and I am not out here telling you it is. But for me, it is helpful in ways that others meds just have not been. This book offers ways to incorporate my meds with my magic and I am here for it. One critically important thing that I learned from this weekend was that I must be getting back to my art. Not an option. I need to be creating without concern for the outcome or what happens to the piece after I make it. Another important thing (there were a lot of important things) is that connecting with my art is going to help me connect with that inner child that is needing some attention. I had some things happen in the last several years that stole some childhood dreams from me. And that left me feeling very adrift. Which disconnected me from my spiritual work and my actual spirit. So that is a direction that my future work will be taking. (Expect a post about that in the coming future) And finally, the thing I want to talk about is how much this past weekend taught me that I can't do social media anymore. I am fine if I am just popping in to post something but it sucks me in and is not healthy. All of the meta universe is becoming so infested with fake accounts and AI that it messes with my already sketchy sense of self. I am cutting that all back to the barest minimum for a week to see how things shift in my real life. Thank you all for just loving me and supporting me. If you like what I do here, remember I do tarot readings. Have a magical day.

The Time For Me is Now
This trip has had me in all the feels and I have been trying to figure out why? Its not the first time I’ve gone away solo so that’s not it. Its not even the first time I’ve been to this country so that’s not it. Then I started thinking about how normally when I go away for this period of time it has some kind of volunteer aspect to it. Normally I’m volunteering in environmental or animal…

There were so many awesome moments during the retreat I had, but one that really stood out to me was near the end of Benediction. We were allowed to go to the Communion rail to kneel down. Our priest came over to each of us for a minute holding the monstrance with the Eucharist right up close to our faces. We were allowed to touch the garment held between the monstrance and hands of the priest, a symbol of the woman who reached out to touch the garment on Jesus because she had faith that Jesus could heal her bleeding. After all that I had personally experienced that day, to have that happen, I didn’t want to shut my eyes looking upward. I stared at our Lord in awe. He was right there truly present, only a a few inches from my face. ‘Here I am my Lord and my God’, I thought as my eyes -unblinking- teared up happily, gently holding the garment. I will never forget that moment for the rest of my life. It felt like time stood still. I didn’t want it to end.

Not in a depressive way but feel like genuinely sometimes you need to lock yourself away for periods of time from all human influence to truly focus. it can be incredibly hard but I’ve gotten so many answers lately…forgot where this quote is from but something along the lines of if you reduce all of the noise you can hear God

A garden holds profound significance beyond its physical and practical aspects.
It highlights the idea that when you invest your time, effort, and nurturing into a garden, the benefits you receive in return far surpass the mere production of food.
Cultivating a garden brings not only sustenance but also joy, peace, and a genuine connection with nature and the act of creation itself.
The garden as a spiritual retreat from the clamor of the world and the fast-paced lives of individuals.
Immersing oneself in the process of gardening can provide respite from the noise and chaos of daily life, allowing for a deeper connection with oneself, nature, and the universe.
Growing a garden holds transformative power that extends beyond the physical realm, offering a pathway to spiritual growth, contentment, and a harmonious relationship with the natural world.
