Somedays the artblock wins. Somedays inspiration smashes you like a cadillac on a random dashboard recommend. @transformers-synergize your redesigns are so pretty ;^;
#Transformers Fan Continuity#Transformers Synergize#Moonracer#Augh ;0; her design is so pretty and so clever too!#Moonracer is one of my faves she looks SO good#Like a lil templar so I gave her a standard to bear cuz I needed something to balance the legs of the original pose#And then I died on perspective and ended up simplifying it back down -sobs-#I hope the interpretation is to your liking ;^; I don't think I captured the likeness in her face but if I kept fixing it I'd never post#The legs and the 'coat' and the segmentation of her chest and the tire placement and her antenna I'm ;0; I love love love the redesign#Also you have such a fantastic grasp on color theory. The analogous colors with complimentary details and the general shift towards#Orange/Green is so pretty! Such rich soothing colors#I'm sorry some of the shapes are off btw I misread her shoulders entirely and didn't realize until my motivation died again

Did another Transformers Synergize voice over because I couldn't help myself it was so much fun the last time and I've since improved at my impression so I thought it would a good time to see my progress with this. I love Wheeljack and I especially the synergize version of him because the dynamic between him and Ratchet could be legendary.

now imagine this stupid concept idea:
the cybertronians were created by humans. well not directly - but-
in a far distant future, say 4000s, if we weren't dead yet by then, the earth is near its deathbed, and humans decided to build machines to try and find planets to call their new home.
a company then suddenly decided to build machines that would build a planet, instead of finding one. they've already reached almost the peak of science, so why not test out their findings?
every machine was imbued with a shared core known as a Matrix, and it was deactivated in every prototype - except for two. They weren't named until one night when the head engineer woke up in a cold sweat and desperately etched the word UNIKRON on one of the machines, before demanding it to be locked away in the deepest, darkest cells of the foundation, never to be seen again. Soon, UNIKRON was found to be supposedly deactivated just like the others.
in another building division, the other machine would be named PRIMUS, and with a strained and reluctant agreement, it was powered on for testing.
It succeeded in its purpose.
In several tests it managed to create almost all discovered elements in the universe. In a few more tests it created small machines of its own, all docile and curious as their creator.
But it struggled to create true organic life. And time was running out.
Not only were environmental problems and corruption slowly killing the earth, something was reported to be drilling deeper and deeper beyond its surface, spreading itself rapidly like a plague. It was already at the outer core, and the heat and pressure were not stopping it.
and to no one's surprise? it was UNIKRON.
efforts soon were turned to eliminating the rogue "machine", putting less focus on PRIMUS. but UNIKRON was hard to eliminate, and the world rotted more and more. the RUST virus is created in efforts to truly kill UNIKRON, and when that fails, the RESET kill code was formed.
it deactivated UNIKRON's Matrix. it still lived.
soon, the machine started targetting the wing where PRIMUS was kept. panic rose and chaos increased, but those who kept their sanity combined the RUST virus with the RESET kill code, forming the RR Array. with efforts and many sacrifices, two engineers survive long enough to inject UNIKRON with the RR Array, and release PRIMUS far into the depths of space.
earth dies along with UNIKRON.
PRIMUS drifts in the vast abyss of space, alone and quiet, for a hundred years. in another hundred years, Cybertron is created in the memory of Earth. after billions of years, it collapses from the weight of a great war, just like Earth.
this is now where the show would start
cybertronians landing on the corpse of a once beautiful planet, and as they farm energon and try to survive each other, they investigate wreckage - and learn more about their origins.
the more they dig deep, the more they'll realize that they might just not be the only ones on this planet.....
#yep unikron is still alive#unikron is basically synergized with all the hims in the other universes like how canon is#so like unicron possessing the machine basically#primus too but in a more natural way(?)#transformers#gives more meaning to “more than meets the eye” /JJJJJ#idk bro sun's about to die and they're on earth

“the cautious ewe. the chime of its bell begets its strike.”
hooved
🛎️ power - 3 health - 3 blood
bell ringer - this card’s power increases the closer it is to the combat bell. power also increases for each chime on the field.
bellist - when a card bearing this sigil is played, a chime is created on each empty adjacent space. chimes have 0 power and 1 health.
hidden trait - insulating coat
this card cannot be transformed into a frozen creature. frozen creatures have 0 power, 5 health, and the frozen away sigil.
mirewebelle… she’s one of my favorites out of all the cards i’ve made. anyways!! writeup time!!
ding ding! yeah this entire card is themed around that one interaction on the first floor where mira talks about the bells on her brooch. she might be trapped in a card but i can’t take away her funny noises
the bell ringer + bellist interaction is so cool but it’s so hard to achieve ingame. with optimal placement, mira can do 5 damage on turn 1. hence why she’s a 3 blood! she hits harder than a grizzly. those funny noises are dangerous
i know female sheep don’t usually have horns but like. shsshhsshhhhh. she looks cooler with the horns. she’s like. one of those breeds where both males and females have horns. it’s fine.
i wanted to make the eyes in her alt art look like the change symbol!! because it’s fun!! every alt card has something special!
unlike sif, mira isn’t a talking card! none of the party is actually. as always siffrin suffers alone broken heart emoji.
also! that card trait huh. what the hell is a frozen creature? it’s. a reskin of the frozen opposum. i’ve got a king boss fight in the works and one of the mechanics of it is that he’ll target spaces and turn the cards within them into frozen cards. the frozen away sigil makes the card release a creature upon being killed. in this case, it’d probably return the card to the state it was in prior to getting frozen. and it’s called insulating coat because sheep teehee.
her patch’s sigil is armored/nano armor! which prevents the card from taking damage the first time it gets hit. since transferred sigils also affect the chimes, her chimes can tank an extra hit in battle! looking back though, i think leader would’ve synergized with her kit a bit better. since she can’t get an attack buff at campfire events (without glitches, at least), she’s basically capped at 5 power without that sigil. oh well! armored still works.
speaking of that patch. FUCK that patch. i had to cut out a jpeg of that thing by hand for every card because oops! i couldn’t find a png of it! only one of the card generators lets you add patches and it’s the less game-accurate one. so i had to manually cut it out for each card that had a tribe. which is most of them. hhhh at least i don’t have to deal with it anymore. it sucked.
and i think that’s all my notes on this card! here is a mirewe. observe her
#marshdoodles#isat#in stars and time#inscryption#isatscryption#in stars and scrybes#MIREWEBELLE MY BELOVED#fun fact out of all of the cards she went through the least amount of changes#i think the only difference between her original concept and her final card design is her health#i was DETERMINED to use that bell ringer + bellist combo#also while grabbing the sigil descriptions for this writeup#i found out that the daus attacking cards that damage the chimes isn’t actually a part of the bellist sigil#so armored is a little weaker than i originally thought for her. small agonies.#also also! if you’re wondering why armored/nano armor has two names#it was originally called nano armor in act 3#but got changed to armored when it was added to kaycee’s mod#but p03 still calls it nano armor in dialogue!! so it’s stuck as nano armor in my brain

ZeLink - Post-Upheaval [Zelda Proxy Project]
Artist Credit: Penelo Yang (Zelda) and Hortense Marianov (Zelda Background) & Malin Falch
Support Malin further here: Malin Falch's INPRNT
Here is now the last pairing of Zelda and Link for my wife's all-proxy Zelda-themed commander deck, neither of these can be used as a commander, however in the spirit of my "open world" deck-building philosophy for this deck both of these Planeswalkers can be used as a functioning "Oathbreaker". Oathbreaker is a 60-card singleton commander-esque format that uses a planeswalker as a commander, and this deck contains a functioning 60-card Oathbreaker deck within it for both of these planeswalkers.
On the left, we have Zelda, now the Sage of Time in Tears of the Kingdom. Using the Grand Master of Flowers as a base was to reference her transformation into the Light Dragon, which I think is perfect, but notably Grand Master of Flowers also searches for "Monk of the Open Hand" which too gets a fitting proxy:
Artist Credit: ShizuShimada
I mean, tell me that's not just perfect?
___________
On the right, we have Link, now dubbed the Champion of Hyrule:
I picked this Ajani base as it synergizes well with the Aura and Creature focused sections of the deck, and the "gain 100 life" ability feels fitting for a man who slept in stasis for 100 years. The 3 +1/+1 counters also evokes the triforce, which Tears of the Kingdom Link has a much stronger connection to, as he has spent time living with Zelda, who wields the full triforce.
Now while this Malin art is probably my favorite of her work with Link, and I had a lot of fun warping the frame of the card to get that arm-over-the-textbox look, my wife prefers a different Malin piece, so here is that one as well:

This was based on a conversation. I've since forgotten what that conversation was, probably about Tracks being a wet cat, but here he is.
Design belongs to Kray for TF Synergize. You can find him at nyah.

I think Icubate would work better as a phyrexian mechanic if it used creatures instead of artefacts. Like you put down a Human, put a bunch of counters on it, then pay the cost to flip it and it becomes a phyrexian variant of the original creature with that many +1/+1 counters on it. make it into a mechanical representation of your creatures getting compleated.
Oh, interesting!
In short, my personal gripe with Incubate is that 1) it uses +1/+1 counters, which synergize well with proliferate but mix strangely with New Phyrexia's usual poison and -1/-1 counters, and 2) it encourages utilizing big vanilla creatures while the original design philosophy of New Phyrexia was supposed to be transgressive, winning in ways that bend rules and expectations--hence poison and proliferate.
I don't think that Phyrexians should use +1/+1 counters directly, and ONE skirted this creatively with a creature that essentially has Evolve--the Simic mechanic--but with oil counters instead.

I will concede that I do think Transform was an excellent mechanic choice for Phyrexians (and I used it myself in a custom New Phyrexia return set years ago), though it does fall out of lockstep with the type's counter and proliferate focus. I do like the flavor of creatures transforming into Phyrexianized versions like you said, and this could be accomplished through more than transform cards, such as theft that turns creatures into Phyrexians or gives them infect/toxic.

I think the combination of +1/+1 counters and proliferate is best left to the game's other iconic counter-focused transhumanist faction, the Simic Combine. The overlaps between the Simic and New Phyrexia are very heavy at certain points, and Magic story even acknowledged this with the plot point of many Simic guild members becoming glisteners during March of the Machine.

(Though Zegana was not a glistener--she did not actively desire or seek out compleation, as far as we know--her murder was directly motivated by suspicion about her dabbling with Phyrexian biology. Even in-universe characters caught on to the Simic/Phyrexian similarities quickly.)
I will say that I at least like the design of Brimaz a bit more as he encourages using incubate creatures as sacrifice fodder to fuel proliferation and a potential infect gameplan, which does feel very Phyrexian.

#add “likes phyrexians a bit too much” to the list of simic stereotypes i happen to fit in real life#mtg#magic the gathering#march of the machine#phyrexian#new phyrexia#simic#askbox#thementalmonk

thinking about how a few people pigeonholded Wyll early on as 'standard Goody Hero you wind up ignoring for more interesting companions later' and how this is very much not the case but it takes some attention to notice it
among other things, he's a non-ironic and genuine hero, free of prejudice in a way that is SIGNIFICANT in the setting; tieflings are widely hated and feared, accursed and constantly driven out wherever they go, and Wyll's establishing character moment is him leaping to their defense, holding the line to protect the tiefling refugees and the adventuring group present at the grove, and then training tiefling kids to defend themselves with a heroic encouragment that they are extremely unlikely to have seen at all from non-tieflings, especially a human. this same attitude underscores his character overall, where he never does any kind of self-righteous attitude you might expect; he's surprisingly indifferent for the most part for traveling with a vampire as long as Astarion keeps his appetites in check, and his response to you voluntarily becoming more illithid/embracing the power of the tadpole is 'weird but you do you'
then, there's his dynamic with Karlach
they have a LOT of closeness over the course of the game that can be read as romantic, and they're certainly very close over the course of the game, with Karlach passionately referring to Wyll as her best friend not that much later on (I think I've seen it proc as relatively early as sometime around the grove party, depending on character quest progress?). They are the single most straightforwardly heroic members of the party besides Halsin (who is only actively a party member much later on), work very well as ideal mainstays for a heroic/compassionate playthrough as well as a Dark Urge struggling to keep themself in check, and are exclusive to siding with the tiefling refugees, reinforcing their status as moral exemplars.
More to the point, though, they're linked to each other; Wyll's quest, upon joining, encourages you to beeline it to Karlach, and his story arc VERY HEAVILY leans towards siding with her and accepting the consequences, and this means that they're basically peas in a pod, character-wise (and assuming you're not playing as a melee-focused class yourself, synergize quite well for making a party as their default classes and set ups lean well towards a beatstick and melee/magic hybrid respectively).
this is where Wyll's character design-as-story communication comes in, subverting the assumption of him being a 'boring' character; quite apart from the fact that a POC adventurer is rather atypical, especially one shown as prominently as Wyll, along with the fact that he is a warlock (arguably one of the stereotypically 'evil alignment classes', or at least inherently edgy, ESPECIALLY with Wyll clearly being a Fiend Pact from the get-go) but is nonetheless the single most moral person you meet early on; he's a scarred guy clearly who has been Through It but is nonetheless charming.
Then, in what seems to be his expected character arc, he accepts that Karlach is not a devil at all but a tiefling in a similar situation to him, fully aware that he is going to horribly suffer for it and gritting his teeth anyway. This leads to him being transformed into a devil himself (or referred to as such); his face warped with massive horns, scale-like protrusions all over, his remaining eye turned bright red. He explicitly cannot hide this transformation, as they are all far too obvious, and even in the weird world of Faerun he sticks out with many characters who knew him before are outright aghast to see what has become of him.
Wyll looks like a devil; one of the iconic and most horrific monsters in the setting, and he is cursed like that specifically as a punishment for doing the right thing; his cursed appearance is an indicator of how moral and righteous he genuinely is, a scar he suffered to do the right thing. It highlights his morality, and if you came in expecting him to be a pretty standard hero, its hard to say how it gets more of a swerve from that than 'a cursed hero doomed to look like a devil as punishment for doing the right thing'

What are some quirks that synergize well together and would look like one quirk to other people? Like how Deku had originally said that Black Whip was apart of his original quirk rather than a completely different quirk. An example could if Bakugo had Landmine it would just be considered apart of his quirk because it causes explosions of other objects and could be easily believed by the public.
Ignoring any Quirks with direct relations, like the Iidas, the Himuras, or the Todorokis, there's only a handful of options that I think really fits that. At least, not without a lot of stretching of the concepts of one or both Quirks or going for two redundant options, like "Larceny" and "Attraction of Small Objects", "Confession" and "Polygraph", or "Homing" and "Boomerang". And I'll just stick to how you can fenagle them into a single Quirk.
-Black Whip/Rivet Stab: You can control your whips enough to harden them to a rigid point -Arbor/Vines: You have a plant body that you grow and control. You're hair just so happens to be vines. -Larceny/Slide and Glide: You've trained your propulsion enough to be able to attract things as well. -Somnambulist/Sleep Gas: You can push your gas to new heights, but makes it far more toxic. -Transform/Meatball: You can shape your flesh, but need a genetic staple to replicate others. -Softening/Stiffening: You can make things hard or soft instead of only one or the other. -Overlock/High Spec: You're brain is so advanced that you can overload your brain to make yourself faster. -Absorb and Release/Impact Recoil: You can redirect attacks, but it's easiest to do with kinetic energy. Anything else can be dangerous.
