BASIC DESCRIPTION

Full Name: Zehara Himura Downridge aka Himura Z. D. Age: (plot dependent) early 20s to ~125 yrs Species: Tritonite (Triton ancestry, Kozakuran & Chondathan) Gender: Cis Female/Woman (she/her) Sexuality: Bisexual

APPEARANCE (FC is Jhene Aiko)

Zehara stands at 5'5" (1.65 m), typically in a rigid posture. She’s pretty toned from all the walking and fighting she does, and she has various old scars that can be found on different parts of her body. To those who have seen her parents (either in person or in a picture), she’s a perfect combination of them. She has her father’s brown skin (which is a shade darker than that typical of most Chondathans due to his frequent travels), his dimples, and his dark, somewhat wavy hair (which she cuts so it’s shoulder-length). Otherwise, she has her mother’s features: dark eyes, thin lips. and a resting bitch face. She wears an outfit inspired by both rogue and monk attire; it consists of comfy dark brown pants that are cuffed at the ankle, matching leather boots and belts with silvery buckles, two (cheap) metal arm bands, and a dark blue one-sleeve top that's woven out of a strong, quick-drying fabric.

PERSONALITY

Overall: One of Zehara’s most interesting traits is her ability to convince people to agree to her terms. She doesn’t even come across as bossy when she does this, though she does use her words to manipulate people (sometimes for good, sometimes for…money). She’s excellent at her job, and she loves it. Her job takes her all over the world–despite the frequent dangers and complications, she likes that something unexpected is always around the corner (unless that surprise has fucked up a supply order). No two towns are exactly the same. She’s got her regular acquaintances, but then there are the sudden opportunities to make money (or get free food!) that come her way. Unfortunately, her adventures are often hampered by her two faults: her stealing habit (which modern audiences would refer to as kleptomania) and her inability to relate to people her age. Like most kleptomaniacs, Zehara doesn’t steal things due to their economic value, but rather because she wants to prove to herself that she can get away with snatching it in the first place. Her attempts to resist this problem of hers often result in her appearing unable to stay still as she keeps her hands in her pockets. She secretly fears that one day she'll be unable to run her business, leading her to fail her parents' memory.

BACKGROUND

Neutral Good; Monk (The Way of the Four Elements): Zehara was born to a Kozakuran mother and a Half Triton Chondathan father, who worked as successful traveling merchants. They had established a worldwide trading network that ran from the Sword Coast to Mulhorand. The Himuras were always incredibly well-off (in part due to Zehara’s maternal family wealth). However, after an attack by highwaymen orphaned Zehara at ten, the business was somewhat brought to a halt. The girl would end up living with her cousin Jun, who would teach her to defend herself. This led to Zehara developing a hard-hitting, unique kind of fighting style that combined Rogue and Monk techniques and water spells. With this knowledge and other street smarts, Zehara would end up successfully learning to run her family’s company. While doing this, she found and adopted a dire wolf pup, Nobu, who would become her closest friend. Zehara occasionally takes odd jobs while checking in on the merchants that report to her. It’s a fun journey.

Meet Triton...

...And their families!

Ralphie Allen — A man of small stature and large impact; Ralphie hails from Blackpool, England, and has quite the long history with music. His introduction to an instrument came at a very young age, the exact number of which, he cannot recall, upon Ralphie mentioning he wanted to be just like his father, an amateur pianist. Of course, with Ralphie being an ambitious child and his parents refusing to let him halfass this apparent dream, there was no way Ralphie's career was stopping simply at "amateur". The small boy from Blackpool with a flair for breaking things in exotic ways was almost certain to go pro. Much to the delight of everyone who had even the most remote of hands in enabling Ralphie's lessons, Ralphie did go pro, and he did so at quite a young age. Though, truthfully, no one exactly hoped that their beloved little neighborhood musician would go on to create some of the most memorable incidents... In any sort of rock music. Still, it was hard not to be proud of the little boy, now a little man, who had made such a crater in music history just by being his curious, chaotic self.

Kotone Allen — A lady of incredibly private circumstances. All that is released to the public, at her request, is that she and Ralphie met in Japan during one of Triton's tours, and she left with them, putting the life she'd led until then behind her. She currently works in the fashion industry, and has the occasional musical cameo in Triton's music.

Taylor Allen — A rising star himself, Taylor Allen is Ralphie and Kotone's son. He's had Ralphie and Ben both teach him how to play different instruments, and though he's not often in the public eye, he is certainly a fan of pink.

Ben Lake — An inner city Londoner, a troublemaker, a good musician, and a lovely voice. Ben is the son of a WWII veteran, from whom, he seemed to inherit a love of the radio. At the age of six, an uncle gifted him with a small, cheap guitar, and offered him lessons. From there, he'd never looked back. Playing with a few small-time groups in his teens, Ben later collided with Ralphie, who suggested they form their own group, in which case, Ben could have all the attention he wanted. Ben, of course, agreed eventually, following the souring of relationships between himself and a former bandmate. Together, the pair set off in search of a few more pieces to their traveling circus of a band, in hopes that they could find the one or two things they were missing.

Penny Lake — A talented violinist who grew up just down the road from her long-time boyfriend (later husband) Ben, Penny Lake nee Lane joined Triton's musical efforts after incessant whining from her fiancé about how much more she could bring to their music, and how much more time they would have together. Penny is the mother of Ben's two known children, twins Allen and Connie.

Allen Lake — Guitarist like his father, Allen's tastes are more eccentric and downright weird than the others in the band's. No one knows a whole lot about him, aside he and his sister seem to have some sort of punk garage band. He cameos in some of Triton's songs.

Connie Lake — Slightly weirder than Allen, Connie plays guitar and fiddle, and often plays a guitar like a fiddle just because she can. She plays in Allen's garage band and also may have appeared on one or two tracks.

Kim Williams — A drummer from the backwoods of Michigan, all Kim ever really wanted to be was Gene Krupa or Buddy Rich. Unfortunately, both those options were taken, so he settled for being Kim Williams and set out to be a little bit better if he could. Ralphie and Ben stumbled upon Kim while the three were on a vacation to a music festival, Kim struck up a conversation, and Ben and Ralphie both agreed he was the missing piece of the puzzle of weirdness, thus creating Triton. Kim isn't quite as eccentric as the other two men, but he certainly knows his stuff. He's also the youngest, which is strange considering he's the calmest of the three.

Mona Williams — Kim's wife and, honestly, usually just the cheerleading squad, which she's fine with. Mona plays wind instruments, typically, of which Triton does not often require in their music. She's also elected herself the unofficial den mother of the band, seeing as everyone else, save the other two wives, seems more interested in causing chaos and making music than actually having an eating routine.

Riszi Williams — Son of Kim and Mona, Riszi followed in his dad's footsteps pretty closely. Riszi's repertoire is slightly expanded from Kim's, however, in that he also feels totally at home hitting things that do not constitute drums, cymbals, or gongs (xylophones, chimes, bells, etc.), and usually backs his father's drumming when need be. His chaos frequently clashes with Ralphie's and complements Ben's to a concerning degree.

She doesn’t have a specific motto she lives by, but she does have a phrase she has yet to share with anyone, she calls it the Triple S and she tells herself it’s all she needs when she’s sad or nervous. Sun, style and sisters.

Adella sings, she’s a soprano and she works at local productions, she also plays the piano, although she’s not that good at it.

She runs every morning, she’s done half-marathons, although what she really enjoys is the daily routine of it. She also practices yoga regularly and she’s good at volleyball.

Not unless you consider with as many boys as possible and somehow falling in love with all of them a party trick.

The ocean terrifies her ever since her mother drowned, she can’t stand to be too close to it, she starts to hyperventilate.

Not yet but she’s about to adopt a Saint Bernard that she’ll call Juniper.

Allergic to something? To what?

Della’s allergic to shellfish and meat generally upsets her stomach too, so she tends to avoid it. She’s also allergic to dust.

Superstitious? If so, what do they believe brings them good/bad luck?

She believes in ghosts and the supernatural in general, but has never had a close experience with it herself. She does have a lucky sundress, a lucky pair if earrings and her mother’s ring, all of which she wears when she feels like she needs the extra boost.

An early bird or night owl?

She’s an early bird during the weekdays, waking up early enough to go for a run before the sun has come out all the way, so she can shower and have breakfast before starting her day. On weekends she tends to run at night or late afternoon instead, and spends the morning in bed. 

A dog or cat person?

Definitely a dog person, although she likes cats too. 

Optimistic or pessimistic?

Optimistic to a fault.

Indoorsy or outdoorsy?

She can be both, but the girl does love to be out and about, and picnics are one of her ideal date ideas.

1. Dogs or Cats? Dogs FTW! Though I could maybe have a cat one day, depending.

2. YouTube celebrities or normal celebrities? I’m not sure YouTube celebrities count as celebrities, haha. And I certainly couldn’t name a single one, so normal celebrities it is. I have a hard enough time naming those. :P

3. If you could live anywhere where would that be? UGH it depends on the day and how I’m feeling, honestly. I live for the wide-open countryside, but I love the mountains and the forest, and I would love some small, historic old town where I could walk everywhere on cobblestone streets. It’s easier for me to say where I don’t want to live than where I do!

4. Disney or DreamWorks?  Disney (especially now that it has Marvel and Star Wars), but honestly DreamWorks has some real gems.

5. Favourite childhood TV show? MY LITTLE PONY. Especially those old movies and that original 80s character style??? A+++ the new My Little Pony honestly failed hard in the style department (didn’t stop me from getting a stupid amount of the toys tho because they were so cute). :’D Then there was X-men and Spiderman, and later on Pokemon, Digimon, and Yugioh. ♥

6. The movie you’re looking forward to most in 2020?

I’m a sap for movies, I love them. so RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON, probably on the top of my list next to whatever Star Wars is coming out then. Mulan, Artemis Fowl, Dolittle!! (omg that takes me back so hard) And probably some others I can’t remember.

7. Favorite book you read in 2019? I did not read a book this year. :sob: But there was some excellent fanfiction, some very excellent webcomics, and some very very excellent RPing <_<. Oh, there was a kids book, The Tea Dragon Society, which is super cute, highly recommend. Maybe next year I’ll get through my stash of backlogs. >_>

Marvel or DC? Marvel for movies, ANYTHING ELSE for comics.  Tho the Wonder Woman and Superman movies have been super epic too, hmm.  Anyway, I cannot stand these superhero comics, they’re convoluted and incoherent (and generic) as heck.  You can find so much better stories and artwork elsewhere.

A lot of those I read long, loooong ago so maybe I would have different opinions now if I re-read them.  But boy did they influence me A LOT growing up.

STAR WARS especially Rogue One :sob:, How to Train Your Dragon, Sherlock Holmes (the recent movies), The Man from UNCLE (also the recent movie).  This list will change by the hour. 8)

15. America or Europe?  Europe.  I live in America and it’s comfy and all, but really Europe has all the cool places going for it, AND ALSO public transportation, get your act together America.

16. Tumblr or Twitter?  Tumblr FTW.  I will never understand the point of Twitter, tho Blakk does have a Twitter account that he rarely uses. 8)

17. Pro-choice or Pro-life?  What a great polarizing question for such an innocent Q&A meme; gotta wonder what the author was thinking. 8)  I’m pro-you-can-have-whatever-opinion-you-want-as-long-as-you-don’t-inflict-it-on-other-people because it’s not your f*ing business to run their lives, pro-this-isn’t-worthy-of-becoming-law, pro-act-responsibly-in-the-first-place-and-use-birth-control, and, failing that because people sure as hell like to manufacture fake issues, pro-choice.  Because just imagine thinking you get to determine what someone else gets to suffer (and literally pay for, $$$) for 9 months and then force them through the horrific physical ordeal of birthing a baby when they just. don’t. want. to.  I mean, you might as well decide someone should just take an axe and cut off their own arm just because you want them to; it really amounts to the same thing.  :/  (Please note, wanting to have a baby and being forced are two entirely different things. It’s an ordeal, regardless, and not something to approach unwillingly.)

18. Favorite YouTuber? No one, don’t care enough to remember usernames. XD

19. Favorite author ? I’m so bad with remembering names, but here are some I do, so they must be worth something: Timothy Zahn, Mike Stackpole, Kevin J. Anderson, and also the above listed authors, half of which I had to Google. 8)

20. Tea or Coffee?  I mean.  Coffee, ok??  But like, also.  TARO MILK TEA and a hundred other teas especially with cream and sugar, and the concept of High Tea is amazing.  ... That’s mostly the snacks, BUT STILL.

21. OTP ?  Blakk/Saare (old ship, many of you probably haven’t seen it, but it’s also my canon ship).  Blakk also ships stupidly well with several other OCs ... you know who you are ... and also how much I wish they could also be canon ...

22. Do you play an instrument/sing ?  Piano!  At least I could, before we moved around 6th grade and I gave it up.  But it was the one extracurricular activity I stuck with for a number of years.  I’m sure I’m ridiculously rusty.  Probably I can still read the music. 8)  I can sing (mainly in the car), but it doesn’t mean I should.  XDD

20 and 22 Vice

20. Is your character currently in love? Is there in anyone in love with your character?

Okay, so first of all, Vice is my tiefling heavy metal bard. For a few sessions now (pre-reboot), she’s had a huge crush on a klutzy Triton girl with a voice like a bell, named Malana (who was originally intended to be an NPC’s love interest). Our last session actually featured them getting together, so I’ll tell the story briefly:

Our characters’ band, Spellbound, was accompanying Malana to a huge gig as her opening act and support group, and we were traveling on a ship. On the second morning, the ship was attacked by pirates. After an epic fight, involving Vice’s bandmate Donnie taking out 15 pirates at once with a well placed Fireball, Vice was grabbed and pulled off the ship by the pirates’ captain - but Malana dove in and rescued her. Emotions were running high, and on an impulse, Vice kissed Malana while they were still in the water.

Vice immediately apologized, but after the two talked about it, they realized they both had feelings for each other and wanted to try this out. So, to answer the question, yes, and yes! And I can’t wait to see how it goes as the campaign continues.

22. How would this character seduce a lover?

Vice is a huge flirt. As the lead vocalist and guitarist of Spellbound, she’s awesome and she knows it, and of course the girls always dig the lead guitarist. She hits on people all the time, casually, without any real possibility of commitment. But when Vice falls for someone - for real - she falls hard and gets quiet about it. Case in point (also pre-reboot) with Malana! Vice didn’t tell her anything, but she showed genuine support and care for Malana as a friend first, and didn’t make any actual moves toward getting together until emotions ran high.

It's disappointing that the damn thing didn't glow like it would if I'd used highlighters, but at the same time, I think that blacklight may be going out. It seemed a lot more dim than usual tonight and the white of the sheet doesn't really respond to it the way it normally would. I'll have to get that checked, but in the meantime, Maybe I'll see if I can sneak some highlighter ink into the yellow bits of the poster and make it pop? If not, no great loss. If so, that'll be amazing. Gotta get a frame for it, though... That'll be difficult.

(6) Ben is the biggest nerd — he has an obsession with WWII history on account of his dad's service. Ralphie has a thing for nature and flying, and Kim is very involved in growing things. The one nerd topic they share is fantasy games — the goal of which seems to be to anger the dumbass-monitor.

(12) Penny goes on rants. It would be easier to tell what they were if her husband ever paid attention to them.

(28) Kim wears the most comfortable things. Ben will turn himself into a Picasso in the name of fashion.
