chris claremont’s narration style is absolutely fascinating to me by the way. like, there’s a scene in issue 96 of the uncanny x-men post-thunderbird’s death where cyclops is mourning his fallen teammate at the gravesite and the narrator full-on starts taunting him, taking the role of scott’s inner voice, to the point where he goes berserk and unleashes a demon that they have to fight later. it happens again with storm in issue… 105 or so, when she’s trapped underground in the cassidy castle. the narrator taunts her with her memories of her parents, of being buried under rubble next to the body of her mother, actively keeping her panicking and useless throughout the fight with the juggernaut. it’s just such a fun and fresh stylistic choice to stray away from having characters basically just think their inner turmoil in thought bubbles to the audience, and somehow it creates a more believable depiction of conflict! they were not lying claremont really is a good writer,

so i FINISHED THE OG X-MEN RUN (issues 1-66 of uncanny x-men, for anyone confused) and my thoughts are that it was actually pretty good!! it didn’t drag or anything for the most part (except at the end but y’know, death knells and all that), and it was really fun getting to see the og team’s personalities develop from “generic superhero male #3” and “woman” to “oh hey these guys have like. actual personalities. and are friends. and aren’t randomly flirting with jean for no reason.” everything after the nerd turning into a vampire dinosaur was… a little shaky? but that was like the last five issues so. yeah! definitely worth a read if you’re interested. they’re all free to read on the internet archive. GAME CHANGER 6.06 Deja Vu

so dropout's gamechanger has been going thru an ARG, where the prevailing theory is that sam reich was replaced after Escape the Greenroom with Samual Dalton (acclaimed magician/time traveler).

My addition is this: after Escape the Greenroom, Sam has been looking at his hands every time he says "I am your host, Sam Reich" with astonishment.

Like he's amazed that this is his body. He also annunciates the 'I' in 'I am your host' more noticeably, but it is not as consistent. I noticed it before, but figured it was just a new season refresh for intros.

He does not do this in any prior episode, like The Bachelor. The episodes right after Escape the Greenroom, the Battle Royale series, Sam does not do his normal intro after introducing the players.

Interestingly, in the Escape the Greenroom episode itself, he does not look at his hands but the screen glitches before he says "I've been here the whole time" (similar to the prominent glitching in Deja Vu).
