Ooh, for the wip game: To Live Like a Ghost
(Or wip of choice if anyone already asked about that one) 😘
Aw, hey, thanks for the ask! To Live Like a Ghost is a wip I've had in my head for over a year now but I kept getting stuck on it. I think I finally figured out what was messing me up, though, so once I'm done with some things I'm working on now, I want to revisit it.
Anyway, it's a canon-divergent AU where the war ends very soon after Geonosis, so the clones and Jedi don't have much of a bond, and suddenly, the clones are just. Not soldiers anymore. They don't really know how to live 'normal' lives, the Republic is trying to figure out what to do with them on top of everything else going on, and there are of course all the cadets to think about. So it's going to start out fairly grim when Waxer and Boil meet each other on a civilian job several months after the war ends, but if you know me, you know it will get better. 🧡
One of the main things I wanted to deal with in the fic is just how much it sucks to be poor—how that puts so many constraints on literally everything in your life.
I haven't looked at the chapter and a change I wrote months ago, but let's see...
"Speaking of him," the Twi'lek says, leaning forward and lowering his voice as he looks at Waxer. "Is it true that he did some kinda Sith mind control thing with all of you? As part of his plan to take over?" Waxer's stomach clenches. His dream from this morning is close again—prickling like ice right under his skin. Curling his fingers around the edges of his tray to keep them still, he says, "He... It was—" The speakers overhead crackle and Waxer startles. A droid's voice says, "All passengers, we will be arriving in Quermian space thirty-three minutes ahead of schedule. If you are disembarking on Quermia, please gather your belongings and proceed to boarding ramps one through three on level zero. If you are transferring to ships bound for Emmer, Troiken, or Cholganna, please gather your belongings and proceed to boarding ramps four and five on level zero. Thank you for traveling with Trans-Perlimian StarLines." Stiffly pushing to his feet, Waxer accidentally jostles his tray with a loud clatter. Grabbing it, he steps back from his seat and offers a jerky nod to the group of nat-borns. "S-sorry, I'm heading for Troiken, so I have to get my pack now. Uh, have a... nice day." "What's a clone doing on Troiken?" one of them calls as he's turning away. Pausing, Waxer glances over his shoulder just long enough to say, "I got a job on a crew building roads and trails in the wilderness."

Star Wars Alien Species - Gozzo
Drahgor III, also referred to as Drahgor Three, was a terrestrial planet located in the galaxy that was the homeworld of the Gozzo species. The planet was covered in yellow fog, and its dense atmosphere was host to lightning.
Tumblr media
A Gozzo was part of the group of war refugees sheltered on the planet Retta by the Segredo Kreeda during the Clone Wars. They were discovered by Jedi Yoda and Anakin Skywalker, who tricked General Flebek's forces into aborting their mission on the world.
A community of Gozzo lived in the forests of Troiken as of the Galactic Civil War. Han Solo encountered the group after dropping a number of Rebel supply crates into the forest to evade Imperial forces. He later returned to recover the crates, but several Gozzo held him and Chewbacca up with stolen blasters, demanding payment for their discovery. Han reluctantly agreed to hand over his reward money from the rescue of Leia Organa, and retrieved his vital supplies.
Tumblr media
Flix, a Gozzo resident of the Colossus platform, was a member of a flock from Drahgor III that ran a fuel refinery.
Tumblr media
The Gozzo were bird-like sentients characterized by their rotund bodies covered in white feathers. Their thin arms and long legs were bare, revealing the yellow skin beneath. Each hand had four long fingers capped with sharp nails. Two fleshy antennae sprouted from the tops of their heads, and they had a small beaked mouth with two red wattles hanging from either side.
Gozzo age at the following stages:
1 - 6 Child
7 - 11 Young Adult
12 - 39 Adult
40 - 59 Middle Age
60 - 74 Old
Examples of Names: Flanx, Fleck, Fleez, Flix, Flobb.
Languages: Gozzo speak Gozzo, a chittering language that travels well in the echoey caverns of Drahgor III.

This week: No Humans Allowed!
Anakin was, of course, the only human with reflexes fast enough to podrace. So apparently these freaky little guys all have a natural advantage over us clumsy, non-Chosen-One humans!
I wish other media about Anakin, especially The Clone Wars cartoon, would show more of his superhuman ability and zeal for racing. I think it’s really endearing and fun, and a cool reference to George Lucas’ first love, cars. The closest the cartoon gets to this theme is the very first arc, Malevolence, in which Anakin can pilot more skillfully than anyone else, and Ahsoka has to advise him to quit for the sake of everyone else’s safety. There are a couple comics where Ahsoka and Luke get to podrace, and Anakin/Vader gets to react to them in charming and ridiculous ways. I’ll write about these comics later, because they are my absolute weakness!
The flags featured in the adorable illustration above are:
the shark who says “Ni!” of Clegg Holdfast, a Nosaurian from New Plympto. New Plympto’s tragic fate is shown in the grimdark (by Star Wars standards) Dark Times comics: the planet and its poor little dinosaur population are neglected by the Republic, manipulated by the Separatists, and looted by the Empire. I’m uncertain if Clegg lived to see this destruction, as his pod crashed in the second lap.
the red flag with blue pennants of Dud Bolt (great name!), a Vulptereen from Vulpter. He must have survived, as he is the racer who you can see on the TV at the bar in Attack of the Clones. I think he is a very cute piggy-crocodile.
the matching green flag with red pennants of Gasgano, a Xexto from Troiken. I think this guy is genuinely ugly, but he did come in second place after Ani, so I must respect him.
the lobster claw on a green field of Mars Guo, who is, hilariously, a Phuii from Phu. Similar to beloved character Hera Syndulla, Mars is named after a Greco-Roman god. Did that ancient empire somehow reach this distant galaxy?
the red hook of Teemto Pagalies, a Veknoid from Moonus Mandel. A Veknoid closer to my heart is the wise, mysterious Master Zao. But Teemto is the original goofy pig-lizard-man.
In the illustration, the podracers bear their own flags, but this is not the case in the movie; in fact, it looks the actual flagbearers mostly appear to be human. The only exception is Anakin’s flagbearer, his loyal creation, C-3PO.
“English-Japanese Dictionary for Jedi Knights,” entry for “Flag.” 2015. Illustrators: Chifuyu Sasaki and Naoko Kawano, aka Gurihiru.

you’re like me, i’m never satisfied | Din Djarin x Reader | Part One?
A/N: This is only part one if people actually want me to do more of it!
Rating: T
Warning: Naughty words. Reader is on spice. Canon-typical fighting yeah? You and Mando briefly scuffle some too!
Word count: 1,516, apparently!!
Summary: Mando saves you from his bounty at the request of the womp rat with whom he travels.
Important song: Satisfied from Hamilton y’all the interaction “you strike me as a woman who has never been satisfied” “i’m sure i don’t know what you mean. you forget yourself.” “you’re like me, i’m never satisfied.” “is that right?” Y’ALL
Tumblr media
"You're not attached to your looks, right?"
"Mm."
He'd been silent creeping into the abandoned building his bounty was tracked to and silent still as he stood in the doorway, watching the disturbing scene.
The man no doubt earned whatever the hell they wanted him for as he held a dagger to the face of a woman who couldn't keep her posture straight.
An earthy smell with a hint of musk filled the room, familiar and yet something he couldn't exactly place.
Not that it mattered, since he was only there to finish the job quickly like he usually did.
He aimed his fibercord whip to pull the guy's legs out from under him as he was moving to cut into your face, but he must've sensed another presence and spun out of the way.
His whip latched onto table legs, jerking him a couple steps forward as the table was yanked over, everything on it clattering to the floor.
The man, a well-known collector of playthings that only useless wealth could buy named Idiian Steveus, grabbed a blaster that had fallen with the table and took a shot at the Mandalorian's shoulder.
Ricocheting off his armor, the bolt only made him stumble back very slightly, releasing the whip to pursue Idiian at a confidently slow pace.
Another shot whizzed right past his head with a perfectly planned step to the right and then he lunged at him, knocking the blaster out of his hand with ease. Idiian was not going down without a fight, of course, scrabbling to grab onto the hunter's arms and gain the upper hand.
The Mandalorian wrapped a hand tight around the side of Idiian's neck, pushing him back and stumbling with him as he tripped over the fallen table.
Both men grunted at the impact and he tried to use the placement on top of the other man to incapacitate him, but the position wasn't lined up enough and he was rolled onto his back.
Idiian was a fool and the new position offered him enough purchase to kick him hard in the knees, sending him tripping backwards and jumping smoothly to his feet again.
They matched to overpower each other then, holding onto each other and spinning around the room in almost a dance as the other tried to force submission.
He didn't realize why Idiian crouched down until he was pulled over the man's shoulder, his helmet hitting the ground hard and leaving him down for a moment.
When he glanced up at Idiian, he was running from the room.
A quick blaster shot to the head and he was crumpling to the floor.
Bringing them in cold wasn't always what he wanted to do, but his client didn't say the guy needed to be alive and killing him was satisfying.
He huffed as he moved to one knee and then to his feet, helmet tilting a little to the side to look at you tied up to a chair still.
You were incredibly quiet; he almost forgot you were there.
He saw bits of some form of spice on the floor and he understood the familiar scent he couldn't place, as well as why you were silent.
Your slightly red eyes slowly raising to look at him confirmed his suspicion that you didn't have any grave, hidden injuries that made you malleable, but Idiian had simply doped you up good.
"Hey there, Mr. Shiny," you said like you'd never spoken a word in your life.
"You're safe."
He loosened the binds around your wrists and then walked away, reaching to grab the collar of the body when he heard a coo he would know anywhere.
The kid was in your lap, not that you knew since the drug had apparently made you fall asleep.
It was really wishful thinking of him to believe that the little womp rat actually listened to him about staying in the ship.
And he didn't have any idea how long it'd been in the house, how much he'd seen, but he figured the scuffle wasn't any different than all the other things he'd seen.
"What the hell? No." He plucked the child off your lap and set him on the floor to free his hands for the body.
But he cooed again, disobediently in your lap.
"I said—"
He stared at you.
Young and vulnerable, drugged and unconscious on the seedy planet where Idiian had preferred to conduct his business.
The baby didn't seem to agree with him that leaving you with your hands untied was enough to tell you that you were safe.
Kriff.
"Fine. But only for tonight. We take her home."
He put the child on the floor again, crouching down to put you over his shoulder.
There was something about walking to his ship with a girl over his shoulder, a body being dragged by its shirt collar tight in his hand, and a tiny kid toddling behind him that seemed entirely normal to him.
                                         ----------------------------
You woke up without the faintest idea of where you were.
The bed was small and in what you could only describe as a closet, and you didn't recognize anything else when you stepped out.
Was it a ship?
It looked and sounded like a ship, but you didn't remember ever going on one.
You remembered...staying on that planet.
Wondering if you found what you'd been searching for your whole life, only for him to convince you that spice was a good idea.
And that was it.
Now you were on a ship you didn't recognize at all, wandering around to find a way to get out of it.
You were searching for any sort of door when you sensed the presence of someone standing behind you, turning to see a tall man that seemed like he was made of metal.
Wasn't it reasonable that you immediately kicked the man high in the hip seeing as you couldn't remember boarding the ship and you hadn't the slightest idea who he was?
He seemed like he was a little shocked behind the helmet he wore, stumbling back a bit.
But he ran at you in an instant, slamming into the wall as you jumped out of the way and whipping around to face you again.
You were quite the fighter when you weren't on spice, he mused.
He'd be a good fighter on spice.
And he was taller than you and he was apparently made of metal, and he managed to back you into a wall as you kicked and punched at him — he didn't grunt when you managed to send your fist into his unprotected ribs and he defied anyone to say he did — with his arm coming to push across your collarbone.
Usually when he was this close to someone, he was going to kill them.
He kind of did want to kill you, but supposed he would lash out too if he woke up on a ship with someone he didn't really know.
His legs pinned yours as you tried to kick again, arm pressing harder against your tender collarbone as you tried bucking him off.
Then you sunk against the wall, panting hard.
"Kill me then."
"I saved you."
You looked at him with a furrowed brow, slowly piecing things together until you remembered the sight of a man in shining armor fighting your captor.
You're safe, he'd said.
"Mr. Shiny."
"That wasn't spice doing the talking then."
"You came there to save me?"
"He was my bounty."
His answer was simple as he stepped back to let you free, telling you he probably didn't know you existed.
You rubbed at your collarbone gently, the weight of his arm more than enough to make it hurt.
"But you saved me."
"Someone asked me to, and I also promised to take you home once you woke up. Where is your home?"
"Oh, um, nowhere."
"What do you mean?"
"I've been traveling since I was young, going from planet to another planet."
"I see."
"Thought I found a planet worth staying on, but then he drugged me to do who knows what."
He calculated the sadness in your eyes, tilting his head slightly. Idiian tricked you, but there was something more to your sadness.
"Your planet was destroyed."
You smiled almost wryly. "My home planet is still there and far as I know, all the people on it are too."
There was spite in the way you mentioned your home's 'people', but he was not one to pry the same as he wasn't one to enjoy being pried.
"Have you ever been to Troiken?"
"No."
"I need to deliver the bounty to my client there, I can drop you off if you want."
"I suppose there's no other choice."
His words were more factual than they were kind or caring, but what could you do other than continue your life of traveling to new planets?
You watched him walk away like you hadn't been talking, thankful for this man saving you and offering you a ride though he seemed a little stunted.

God Sees The Truth, But Waits
By Leo Tolstoy
There was a young man named Ivan Dmitrich Aksionov who lived in the town of Vladimir with his family. In his younger days, he used to drink, had fun and waste his time and stopped until he got married. One summer Aksionov was going to the Nizhny fair. Even though she was told by his wife that she had a bad dreamed about his trip, Aksionov did not listen. Instead, he bade goodbye to his family and drove away. Travelling halfway, he met a merchant whom he spent the night with in the same inn and in adjoining rooms. The next morning, Aksionov woke before dawn and continued his journey. When he had gone about twenty-five miles, as he stopped for a while to have some rest, a troiken drove up with two soldiers walked towards him and began asking him questions regarding the other merchant whom he spent the night with in the same inn. He was wondering and seems confused of what was happening then he was told by the soldiers that the merchant was found dead with his throat cut. He was shocked and could hardly utter a word. The soldiers went to his things and found the blood stained knife inside his bag. He defended himself however the soldiers did not believe him as the evidence was present. He was charged with murdering a merchant. Aksionov’s wife showed up in jail with their children. His wife felt hopeless and did not know what to believe. Even his wife also had suspected him. He was told by his wife that she had sent a petition to the Czar unfortunately, it had not been accepted. Then a soldier came to say that they have to go. Aksionov bade farewell to his family one last time.
Aksionov lived as a convict in Siberia for twenty-six years. He was now an old man and his fellow prisoners respected him and addressed him “Grandfather.” One day, new convicts came along. One of these convicts named Makar. After getting to know each other, Aksionov discovered that it was Makar who killed the merchant but Aksionov remained silent and did not confront Makar about it. One night, he caught Makar crept out from under one of the shelves on which the prisoners slept and later found out that he had dug a hole in there. Next day, soldiers found out what happened when Aksionov was being asked, he denied what he saw. That night when Aksionov was lying on his bed, Makar came near him and confessed everything to him. He was crying and begging for forgiveness. Aksionov said to him that God will forgive him and after saying this, the burdened felt by Aksionov vanished and his heart grew light. When the order for his release came, Aksionov was already dead.
Based on the title, I was expecting that the story was definitely centered tackling about God because that was what it seems stated on the title but it was actually mixed with a story about a man who erroneously convicted and sent to prison and was charged for murder. The story has vivid scenarios which you could easily predict what would happen next on the story so when I continued reading I had a sense that this story is connected about a topic which is murdering cases which is the cause why the climax made me feel more tense and the story more exciting and interesting because it turned out into something where the main character did not expect him to be on that kind of situation that even his wife also had suspected him. After reading the entire story and what I have understood about it was that despite everything he suffers the goodness inside him, the faith, overpowered. The truth will always prevail.
The favorite part that I liked in the story was the fact that the story did not show any violence or vengeance from the main character because he has this strong faith in Him that justice will come on his way in God's will. I did not like the part that his wife had also suspected him. That made the main character being in despair and gave up. I can't relate with regard to the story because I haven't been on a situation like this but I guess there were people out there who experienced this kind of story and able to forgive the real convicts who are the reason behind why they had been on that kind of situation. In our life, we could not deny the fact that we hold grudges too much to anyone and forget about God but this story teaches us having faith and let God do the rest. That even though it came to the point that the world is against you, you must be strong and pray. For the truth will always prevail and justice awaits. I give the story three and a half stars out of five.

Star Wars Alien Species - Xexto
Xexto were natives of the planet Troiken, where (like Ewoks and Wookiees) they lived in arboreal villages.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On their homeworld, the primary predator of the species were vicious challat eaters, which were defied through both agility and cunning.
Tumblr media
Due to the difficult terrain and dangerous predators found on Troiken, the Xextese grew to admire and encourage risk-taking, and questioning a Xexto's bravery would make him or her very angry. Despite their risk-taking nature the Xexto tended to be well mannered and even-tempered.
Tumblr media
The Xexto were first discovered during the Galactic Republic in approximately 17,000 BBY, by an Arkanian geneticist looking to continue illegal research outlawed by the Galactic Senate. At the time the Xexto were loosely organized into hunter-gatherer tribes on Troiken. The geneticist relocated a portion of the population to the nearby Quermia and commenced experimentation. This experimentation lead to a new species called the Quermians. Eventually the geneticist abandoned both species, fearing the wrath of the Old Republic.
Although vastly different in size, the Quermians continued to share many qualities with their smaller cousins. Both possessed their elongated necks for peering above mats of vegetation, while, from a purely sociological standpoint, both races preferred to hide their second set of arms under clothing for decorum's sake.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Neither of the species would remain primitive, and were developing technologically advanced civilizations by the time Republic scouts contacted them. Both the Quermians and the Xexto joined the galactic community soon thereafter.
During the time of the Stark Hyperspace War, most Xexto hated both the Stark Commercial Combine and the Republic.
Tumblr media
They had 6 limbs that sprouted from their small centrally located torso along with a long neck and small head. They had 4 arms with 6 fingers each, and 2 legs with ten toes each. Their large almond shaped eyes were normally a dark purple or black. Their skin could range from chalk white to a pale yellow or purple. Their brain was split between two parts of their body; the part located in the skull controlled primitive emotions and basic body functions, while another portion in their chest controlled higher functions such as creative thinking and logic.
These spindly invertebrates normally measured from 1.1 meters to 1.5 meters or 3.6 to 4.9 feet in height.
Xexto age at the following stages:
1 - 4 Child
5 - 8 Young Adult
9 - 35 Adult
36 - 59 Middle Age
60 - 74 Old
Examples of Names: Billibango, Freon Drevon, Gasgano, Medeon Holovar, Olot Aleego.
Languages: Most Xexto were fluent in both Xextese and Basic, although they were only literate in their own language.
"Challat" meant "flesh" in Xextese.
