So, I'm reading some of the older Star Wars Comics, and I get by an arc retold by a scoundrel. Who tells the stories 100% legit, as you can see

I call her... Mulandalorian.

In continuing my Jedi Disney Princess series, I wanted to do more than just slap a lightsaber in each princess's hand (though that is cool, too). I brainstormed how the Star Wars universe could best reflect their characters, and I feel like Mulan would fit into the Mandalorians very well.

"But Joy!" you cry. "Mandalorians and Jedi have historically hated each other for eons! There are barely any Mandalorian Jedi! How can this work??? And why is she wearing dude Mandalorian armor?!" Well, consider this, dear friend: Mulan is hiding the fact that she's a girl with her father's armor (which is why it's a little big on her) AND a Jedi from her Mandalorian captains. Maybe they won't have too much of a problem with the fact she's a girl disguising herself as a man, but they would probably take issue with the fact that she's Force-sensitive and has an ancestral lightsaber...

one thing I adore about cats the musical the fandom is that there's no lore. I've seen it said multiple times about the show that it's very simple, and that the fans pretty much get to pick and choose... everything.

it's delightful, however it's taking me some time to get used to because I come from fandoms that don't just have lore, no no no, they have entire books that are in fact canon, written specifically to deepen and detail the lore, the history, the characters, every little detail about the world etc.

when I was writing that hotd fanfic I worked with a beta reader not only for proofreading and continuity reasons, but mainly just so a more experienced fan can point out lore mistakes/inconsistencies in what I've referenced in my fic...

don't get me started on star wars, I always sweat when I need to post a sw fanfic, afraid that some person is gonna pull a "well, akshually 🤓☝️" in the comments concerning a detail I mentioned once in the entire story (hasn't happened yet, I take it the fear is more irrational in nature, but also I haven't posted as many sw fics as I've written precisely because of that fear).

but cats???? it's not just the simplicity of the musical itself it's also that the lore pretty much doesn't exist and is up to the interpretation of the viewer. everyone picks up on different details and interprets them differently. and, sure, there's a fandom consensus about certain things but I'd argue that just because there's an overall agreement on a headcanon, it still remains a headcanon and not canon. like! cats doesn't have a canon, at least not a consistent one! and as someone who's used to writing "silly little fanfics for fun" with 50 wiki tabs open to make sure I don't mess up a single lore detail which caused a lot of stress for such a silly story I write for fun, I'm having such a great time with cats fanfics rn both reading and writing.

because at the end of the day, if anyone does decide to question me about something I wrote, I can always just say "my brother in Christ, they are cats" and it would be a valid argument.

Young Justice 98 Star Wars AU but they're on Melida/Daan during the end of the civil war

to anyone who doesn't know : Melida/Daan is a planet on which there is a civil war for centuries between the Melida and the Daan. War and violence are encouraged and even transmitted as some kind of heritage/tradition. At some point the children from both sides decide that enough is enough and they create their own faction : the Young (because they are really young, the oldest of them are 13-14). They live in the sewer and are barely surviving. You'd think that would make the adults (the Elders as they call them) stop, but you'd be wrong! The adults start BOMBING the children. They do a lot of other pretty shitty things too but eventually the Young end the war (with lots of complications at the end) and Melida/Daan becomes Melidaan.

(yes I skipped over any mention of any characters because the way I imagine this AU there wouldn't be any of those characters... like they would be replaced by YJ or something)

you see why I want to pair it up with YJ right??? it just makes so much sense to me please someone tell me they see it too
