Kinda got an urge to write an article comparing The Labours of Hercules by Agatha Christie and Twelve Tasks of Asterix in how they reference the mythical twelve labours.
i just rewatched a movie i loved as a kid called The Twelve Tasks of Asterix and its a fine film in many regards but man does it have some just openly racist depictions of black people and native americans. the movie was made in the 1970s in France but still. not something that i really registered as a kid
Ceasar challenges the Gauls to twelve tasks and will become the rulers of Rome if they complete all of them but if they fail they will have to live under the rule of Ceasar.
I definitely prefer this from the last two Asterix movies but I still have some problems with this one. The thing with the Asterix franchise is that you can't really have proper stakes since the main characters are overpowered. It works great for your Saturday morning cartoon but not as a movie. It just makes things repetitive and boring after a while.
The animation is a tad choppy but I like the use of characterization in the posing and the colours are much nicer than before.
While it is far some perfect The twelve tasks of Asterix does a good job for what it's aiming for. If you're a fan of the franchise I'm sure you'll like this.
He’s a big shady med company boss, kind of guy you shouldn’t annoy… his mind is a giant bureaucratic hell, enough to convince you to not have access to the ´real’ Beau. His mind kinda works like a system and variations of Beau walk around and work ! Variant can change by clothes, haircut , personality and gender!
Inspiration from The House That send you mad, from the twelve tasks of Asterix, if you know what i mean.

hello ⚘️ this anon is not about ceasar 💓 I want know is that true that uderzo and Goscinny they didn't like asterix cleopatra comic and they hated asterix and 12 tasks because its weird they wrote comic than they hated . peace ⚘️
I’ve never heard of such things.
What I know, for Astérix and Cleopatra, is that Uderzo and Goscinny both had the idea to make this comic after the two of them watched Mankiewicz’s Cleopatra in 1963 in theaters. You can see how the cover from the comic and the movie poster are very similar, and it’s not only the cover. The book itself is very largely an extended parody of the movie, so I think both authors had a lot of fun making this comic. However, I know that Uderzo disliked the movie Astérix & Obélix : Mission Cleopatra. Ironically enough, this movie was the one the fans loved the most and the other live-action Astérix movies flopped after Mission Cleopatra.
As for the Twelve Tasks of Astérix, I’ve never heard of Goscinny and Uderzo disliking the movie. It would be strange considering the fact they both wanted this movie and they both worked for it. They were so keen on having Astérix on screen and they weren’t 100% convinced by the first two animated movie so they decided to work on The Twelve Tasks. They were both behind the writing and the realization of the movie, and they pretty much gave everything they had for it was their dream and I think they were happy with the result. They can be proud and happy, this movie is a true classic for Astérix fans and, I believe, the best Astérix animated movie (in 2D).
That’s why I believe Goscinny and Uderzo had no dislike for Astérix and Cleopatra, and The Twelve Tasks of Astérix. If someone knows something I don’t, if I’m mistaken, they’re free to add their own comment to this post!
