I was thinking about Canon Suave Ganondorf again, and... I think what bothers me, beyond everything discussed, is that... it's not characterization? Like for example take Girahim, which I would argue is also a Sexy Villain. Him being a Sexy Villain is 1) a key factor of his presentation and double-edged creepiness, 2) has kind of a lot to do with his literal objectification and 3) is completely played as such, and Girahim himself has a lot of fun with his own theatrics. I don't mind Sexy Villains, they are a lot of fun and they can even be quite meaningful!

So I am not against Sexy Ganondorf by default. I feel like, if played honestly and not ashamed of its own conceit, it could be genuinely interesting! But I find kind of offputting that his sexualization happens almost exclusively extradiegetically. It's the camera leering, it's the clothes that, while really pretty and cool and interesting, do not actually inform us much about the character wearing them on screen, the behind-the-scenes tidbits that are just... not represented within the world of the game... And so, to me, where Girahim lands somewhere on the Bayonetta scale, TotK Ganon is kind of landing... I don't know, somewhere near "skimpy outfit worn by a character that would never wear something like this if given the choice, and the world doesn't ever question why she would and what that says about her"? I don't know if that makes sense, but, yeah. If you want him to seduce everyone, then. Do that. Make him active. Make him own that weird trait you decided to give him all of a sudden.

But again, given the game is deeply uninterested in Ganon as a person, but very interested as Ganon as an antagonistic object, it does end up feeling weirdly objectifying in that regard too.

For the person who sent that ask with a graph of twitter having more users then Threads and Bluesky combined (I didn't wanna show your blog just incase ppl give you flack for it), I just wanna say/answer, respectfully truly, I know!

We all know/realize that twitter IS still more popular in number of users then Bluesky BUT (and it's a BIG BUT), that's not what OP was referring to/meant. They were talking about numbers on posts REACH on twitter vs. bluesky for artists.

What they were referring to was because twitter has an algorithm on top of algorithm on top of burying non paying accounts posts into the abyss, it SUPRESSES artists posts REACH alot of the time (especially if they have links to their projects/portfolios in the post, and even if they have certain words like 'commission' in it, twitter will automatically plunge it into the shadows, making reach near impossible, especially for new artists!!) So even with that amount of users twitter has, it doesn't mean much if no one sees a post cause of the algorithm.

If you have 1,000 followers and only 5 see your post, what's the point posting on x if you can get the same or more on Bluesky (that has no algorithm). Or heck, even if you have 50,000 followers and only 100 see your post, what's the point of 50,000 followers? This isn't just blind 'twitter bad', I've seen multiple 'big' artists say the same thing that they prefer bluesky over twitter now because of the algorithm and bot issue (Oh man and that's ANOTHER problem, alot of followers can just be bots). Not to mention the ai, not to mention all the rage bait, not to mention who owns that site in general.

But also the most important thing, at the end of the day, ppl can do what ever they want! My own personal experience is not the end all be all. If twitter or threads work better for you and not bluesky (cause you gotta make ends meet), and I don't know what I'm reblogging/talking about, that's fine!! More power to ya! Go where you like, I just know twitter wasn't working for me (and ALOT of other artists) and I'm much happier using bluesky for the reasons mentioned in that post.

TLDR - Ppl can use what ever social media they want, it's what ever works for you. But.... of course we all know the SUPERIOR option to everything has and always will be Tumblr xDD

bluesky is so heartbreaking to me bc when i first made an account it was so active and felt unique and i made so many friends. but now just after two months it feels exactly like twitter in most ways, except there's no privs so i get random replies from men acting like they know me (they don't) and most of the friends i made left already :[ i'm not deleting it yet bc i still have some friends there that aren't on here but for me tumblr is better in every way possible. tumblr feels like my quiet space where i can scream into the void and share my creative endeavors and passions and have like minded people (LOVE LIVERS) that actually care interact with it. sure i technically have more followers on bsky, but idc abt that, tumblr is where i feel at home and feel a lot more loved
