Semaglutide for weight loss - What you need to know

①.What is Semaglutide?
Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist that helps to regulate appetite and insulin. It works by stimulating GLP-1 receptors in the brain, which causes the body to feel full after eating smaller portions of food. It also helps reduce fat levels in the body by increasing insulin sensitivity, helping to control blood sugar levels. It is the first FDA-approved drug since 2014 for chronic weight management in overweight adults or adults with general obesity.
②.Here are five reasons to consider semaglutide for weight loss.
1.Semaglutide helps you lose weight gradually and safely.
Semaglutide works by reducing your hunger and cravings by lowering your appetite and slowing down digestion, making it easier for you to stick to a low-calorie diet. It also helps reduce the amount of fat stored in your body, leading to gradual and safe weight loss.
2. Semaglutide can help you keep the weight off.
Unlike other weight loss medications, which only work while they’re in your system, semaglutide has been shown to promote lasting weight loss by helping you stick to a healthy diet and lifestyle even after discontinuing the medication.
3.Semaglutide helps improve metabolic health.
In addition to helping you lose weight, semaglutide also reduces your risk of developing type 2 diabetes by improving your body’s ability to use insulin, as well as reducing inflammation and cholesterol levels.
4.Semaglutide is generally well-tolerated.
Most people who take semaglutide experience minimal side effects, such as nausea, headache, and constipation. The most common side effects are usually mild and can often be managed with lifestyle modifications or over-the-counter medications.

I want to make a few posts about the constant misinfo around type 1 diabetes, especially about medication costs, the actual cost of diabetes besides insulin, the topic of “Walmart insulin” and maybe some other stuff but god. The energy it will take
#in short: insulin doesn’t cost 35 dollars not really. there are two types of insulin you need. along with many supplies for blood sugar#management and the ability to inject insulin#which are not all affordable#plus the idea of Walmart insulin is bad cause the stuff they sell is 20 years old with extremely specific treatment plans that could kill#if not careful#plus Eli Lily is a bunch of liars insulin doesn’t actually cost 35 dollars it’s for people with private insurance and no insurance#government sponsored insurance doesn’t count which is a whole other can of works#worms*#cause even certain insurances will have different prices for insulin#but I wanna get good sources and have screenshots and write image descriptions. sign#also on the topic of Walmart insulin. they do have up to date stuff. but it still will cost you. the 20 dollar stuff you see in posts is not#what most type 1 diabetics will ever get put on

being diabetic in the american healthcare system is soo fucking exhausting and not in the “i have to constantly be monitoring what i’m eating and how much insulin i’m getting” way (which is also exhausting but has gotten easier w technology) but in the “can my fucking supplier please ship my pump supplies so that i don’t have to revert to giving myself injections every couple hours and possibly miss work while i wait for them to show up”
#like. i am type one diabetic. have been for 15 years. it’s not fucking going away so why do i have to fucking jump through hoops#just to stay alive. beyond infuriating…#in canada it was like. okay pull up to pharmacy. ask for supplies and then they give me the supplies.#and also like. you can’t just go from pump to injections and vice versa…#injections require two insulins while the pump just needs one so guess who had to call their doctor AND THEN call the pharmacy. god

What Is the Best Injection for Weight Loss?
One of the most popular and effective weight loss injections today is semaglutide, sold under brand names like Ozempic and Wegovy. These medications work by mimicking a natural hormone (GLP-1) that helps regulate appetite and blood sugar. Clinical studies have shown that weekly injections of semaglutide can lead to significant weight loss, especially when combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise. Another option is tirzepatide (brand name Mounjaro), which targets two hormones and may lead to even greater weight loss in some people. Always consult a doctor to determine the right option for you

I checked my Facebook for the first time in a year and someone messaged me last month saying they hope I'm getting better and if I ever need help affording insulin they're always there for me. I told them that I don't have diabetes and that my dad is running a smear campaign because this is not the first person to message me about it.

Insulin and its importance
Insulin is considered an anabolic hormone—in fact, it is the main anabolic hormone in the body—as it is needed to synthesize protein. This also means that low insulin levels are responsible for catabolic reactions in the body, i.e. breakdown of tissue, including stored body fat. This is also why fasting has such a strong effect on fat breakdown.

"A 25-year-old woman in China is the first person worldwide to have type 1 diabetes reversed through stem cell therapy.
The therapy used the patient’s own cells to create personalized stem cells, which were then used to grow fresh insulin-producing islets.
This breakthrough offers hope for millions with diabetes, potentially eliminating the need for daily insulin injections and reducing complications.
In a groundbreaking medical achievement, a 25-year-old woman in Tianjin, China, has had her type 1 diabetes reversed through a novel stem cell therapy. This marks the first time such a feat has been accomplished globally, offering new hope for millions living with the chronic condition.
The patient, who had been struggling with type 1 diabetes, underwent a pioneering treatment that involved converting her own cells into personalized stem cells. These stem cells were then used to grow fresh clusters of ‘islets,’ the hormone-producing cells in the pancreas responsible for regulating blood sugar levels.
As Nature reports, this therapy’s unique approach of transplanting the newly created islets into the patient’s upper abdomen near her pancreas sets it apart from previous islet transplant methods. This strategic placement allows for easier monitoring via MRI, a significant advantage over traditional liver transplants.
“I can eat sugar now,” the woman said on a call with Nature. After over a year since the transplant, she says, “I enjoy eating everything — especially hotpot.” The woman asked to remain anonymous for privacy reasons.
Experts are astonished at the results, according to Timesnownews. “They’ve completely reversed diabetes in the patient, who was requiring substantial amounts of insulin beforehand,” said Dr. James Shapiro, a transplant surgeon and researcher at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.
The implications of this breakthrough are far-reaching, as it could potentially revolutionize the way we treat diabetes. By using a patient’s own cells to create personalized stem cells, this therapy bypasses the limitations of donor islet shortages and the need for immunosuppressive drugs, which have hindered the success of conventional transplant methods.
‘If this is applicable to other patients, it’s going to be wonderful,’ diabetes researcher Daisuke Yabe of Japan’s Kyoto University told reporters via Daily Mail.
As the world watches closely, the success of this case sparks hope for the millions of individuals living with type 1 diabetes. It represents a significant step forward in regenerative medicine and paves the way for further research and development in the field."

1. January - South Korea passes law banning dog meat trade
The slaughter and sale of dogs for their meat is to become illegal in South Korea after MPs backed a new law. The legislation, set to come into force by 2027, aims to end the centuries-old practice of humans eating dog meat.
2. February - Greece legalises same-sex marriage
Greece has become the first Christian Orthodox-majority country to legalise same-sex marriage. Same-sex couples will now also be legally allowed to adopt children after Thursday's 176-76 vote in parliament. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said the new law would "boldly abolish a serious inequality".
3. March - Global child deaths reach historic low in 2022 – UN report
The number of children who died before their fifth birthday has reached a historic low, dropping to 4.9 million in 2022. The report reveals that more children are surviving today than ever before, with the global under-5 mortality rate declining by 51 per cent since 2000.
4. April - Restoring sight is possible now with optogenetics
Max Hodak's startup, Science, is developing gene therapy solutions to restore vision for individuals with macular degeneration and similar conditions. ‼️EMERGENCY FUNDS: I need Help With Medical Bills And Equipment ‼️
Howdy Y'all, please share my story with me at least a little, I am a Type 1 Diabetic. I was diagnosed in February 2019 after being very sick and I weighed 88 lbs. For the last two and a half years I have had to inject insulin 4+ times for day every day, to stay within my blood glucose level.
In December 2020 I was hospitalized and had to have emergency surgery where I had to stay at home for the entire period of my illness without working, and I also had DKA aka Diabetic ketoacidosis is a serious complication of diabetes that occurs when your body produces high levels of blood acids called ketones.
In the picture, the devices you see are the ones that are needed to control my diabetes.

Diabetic ketoacidosis develops when your body cannot produce enough insulin. Insulin normally plays an important role in helping sugar (glucose), the main source of energy for your muscles and other tissues, enter your cells. Without enough insulin, your body begins to break down fat as an alternative fuel. This process produces a buildup of toxic acids in the bloodstream called ketones, eventually leading to diabetic ketoacidosis if left untreated.
Three months later in March 2021 I finally got to see an endocrinologist, who specializes in Type 1 Diabetes. Who told me that an insulin pump would be a good device for me?
I was recently approved for an insulin pump that will help me better control my diabetes. Although I am happy that I am approved the hardest part is coming up with the funds to pay for the pump and equipment.
