I'm intending on getting uni next sale, is clr a sequel, or title update¿ Im one of those guilty gear fuckers who really wants all the store possible. But don't wanna waste money if unnecessary.

CLR is basically the current version of the game! it's not currently possible to buy ST (previous version before CLR update) as far as i'm aware, and honestly you'd only really want EL for archival purposes if you're like me and insane about this game. also base UNIB is literally non-existent (besides this one arcade version .iso i have but that's another story i'm getting really sidetracked here) so like. if you wanna try the game out just grab CLR for now :) also psssst get the londrekia dlc if it isn't included with the version you buy. he's fun i promise

Das Ende von 2017 ist zu nah

Ach Leuts, was soll ich sagen.. Ich bin glücklich demnächst wieder daheim zu sein. Auch wenn hier in letzter Zeit einige schöne Dinge passiert sind - auch traurige.

Lord Mayor´s show! Die erste Parade die ich bis jetzt gesehen habe. Schon irgendwo beeindruckend.Es ist eine lange Tradition den neuen Lord Mayor of London zu ehren. Viel davon hat man nicht mitbekommen, aber es war trotzdem schön anzusehen. 

Uh yeah Weihnachten. Mich nervt das ganze jetzt schon. Von blinkenden Weihnachtsbäumen überall seit Mitte November, zu tausenden Weihnachtsmännern auf den Straßen. Es gibt kein entkommen!!!! Viel mehr will ich darüber garnicht sagen... Ja ich war im WinterWonderland, ob ich es weihnachtlich fand? Nein.

Ich war bei meinem ersten Konzert in London mit meinen Freunden. Wir waren bei Paros Stelar!!!!  Und ich weiß jetzt das der Ally Pally (Alexandra Palace) zwar angeblich in London ist - aber ui war das weit. Der Aufwand hat sich aber echt gelohnt (gibt was im 4. Teil meiner Videos zu sehen..Ich weiß der 3. fehlt noch ->work in progress,I promise) 

SCHNEE IN LONDON what the hell is going on? Alle haben immer gesagt es gäbe keinen Schnee in London, der Beweis dafür war der Schrei einer Studentin die sich sehr darüber gefreut hat. Leider musste ich mich ebenfalls diese Woche von ihr verabschieden - Ihr Studium ist vorbei und ich wurde zur Paparazzi Mutti bei ihrer Graduation Ceremony. Wie so was abläuft? Ganz simpel -Rede der Direktorin und dann 45 Minuten Namen aufrufen und Leute über die Bühne tappen sehen. Das ist alles.

Meine Theatergruppe hat nun das Stück auf die Bühne und zum Ende gebracht. Vier Vorstellungen und alle ausverkauft. Es war schon cool und sehr sehr witzig, im Endeffekt. Die Party nach der letzten Aufführung war echt Klasse (auch wenn ich überrascht war keine Premierenfeier zu haben) ich bin um 10 Uhr morgens dann mal nach Hause gegangen, um dann festzustellen das ich über 12 Stunden in diesem Theater war.  Aber wirklich es war der Hammer. Generell Darsteller, Musik, Disney, Twister und natürlich deepe Gespräche und Armdrücken. Ich war überrascht wie sehr sich grade der Musikgeschmack ähnelt. Es sind sogar neue Freundschaften entstanden. Trotz des Probens hatte ich nicht mit allen so viel zu tun.. Glücklicherweise hat sich das geändert. Der Beginn einer neuen chaotischen Freundschaft steht bevor.

Die Queen ist an mir vorbeigefahren. Was soll ich sagen. Ich hab die Queen gesehen, neben mir, in einem Auto, aber neben mir.

....

Jacob verlässt die Uni... einer der traurigsten Momente seit langem. Aber einer der typischsten  Studentenabschiedspartys stand dadurch bevor - bzw dahinter , ist ja schon passiert. Will nicht wissen wie viele sich nicht mehr daran erinnern können. 

Letzte Worte - Froh bald ins Flugzeug zu steigen und in Berlin anzukommen.

Es steht eine Überraschung bevor die mit Farbe zu tun hat.

Postdoc: UTuebingen.InvasivePlantEpigenomics

Christina Richards and Oliver Bossdorf at the University of Tbingen are seeking a motivated POSTDOC IN ECOLOGICAL (EPI-)GENOMICS OF INVASIVE PLANTS to develop genomic and epigenomic resources for invasive knotweeds (Reynoutria ssp aka Fallopia ssp). The postdoc will work in the project Genomics and Epigenomics of Plant Invasion which attempts to understand large-scale variation and adaptation, and their underlying (epi)genomic mechanisms, in native vs. introduced populations of invasive knotweeds. S/he will develop approaches to full-genome sequencing for these complex polyploid species, and will be responsible for analysing RNA-Seq and reduced-representation bisulfite sequencing (epiGBS) data together with phenotypic and environmental data, as well as for writing manuscripts. The project is funded through the Make Our Planet Great Again initiative (http://bit.ly/2FfsLpn). It entails a collaboration between the University of Tbingen (Christina Richards, Oliver Bossdorf, University of Rennes (Malika Ainouche, Armel Salmon) and various groups in Eastern Asia, in particular the Institute of Biodiversity Science (Bo Li, Ji Yang) at Fudan University, China. Applicants should have a PhD in ecology, evolution, genetics, bioinformatics, or a related field. Expertise in statistics, genomics and bioinformatics is required. Previous experience with bisulfite sequencing, reduced-representation approaches and/or polyploidy will be ideal. Strong candidates will also possess the following attributes: (1) creativity, independence, and a desire to learn new things, (2) excellent oral/written communication skills, and (3) a proficiency in bash, python and R. The position is full-time and for 2 years, with a possible 1-year extension. It will be based at University of Tbingen, but the postdoc will also spend a significant amount of time in Rennes, France. The payment will be at German payscale level TV-L E13. The University of Tbingen is one of the oldest universities in Germany, with a particular strength in Plant Sciences. Tbingen is a beautiful university town with a high quality of life. The Plant Evolutionary Ecology group (uni-tuebingen.de/plantevoeco) at Tbingen, which will soon welcome Christina Richards (ecologicalepigenetics.com) as MOPGA group leader, studies a broad range of questions on plant variation and adaptation in changing environments. Neue Strategie für die Tuberkulose-Impfstoffentwicklung

Infektionen mit M. tuberculosis gehören weltweit zu den häufigsten Todesursachen. Jedes Jahr infizieren sich über zehn Millionen Menschen neu. Der einzige zugelassene Impfstoff gegen Tuberkulose ist BCG – ein aus Rindertuberkelbakterien entwickelten Lebendimpfstoff. Dieser schützt jedoch nur vor der frühkindlichen Miliartuberkulose und nicht vor Lungentuberkulose, an der Erwachsene erkranken.

Wissenschaftler und -innen am TWINCORE beschreiten neue Wege bei der Suche nach einem effektiven Impfstoff gegen Tuberkulose. Das Institut für Infektionsimmunologie veröffentlichte jetzt alternative Angriffspunkte im Immunsystem für eine neue Impfstrategie. „Neue Impfstoffentwicklungen gegen die Lungentuberkulose basieren fast durchgängig auf denselben Prinzipien wie der Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) Impfstoff und sprechen immer dieselben Rezeptorfamilien auf den Immunzellen an“, sagt Dr. Luciana Berod, Leiterin der Arbeitsgruppe Wirt-Pathogen Interaktionen und Immunmetabolismus. Auch wenn sie im Labor häufig vielversprechend erscheinen, versagen diese Impfstoffkandidaten dann meist in den klinischen Studien.

Das Institut für Medizinische Mikrobiologie der Uni Zürich identifizierte zwischen Februar und November 2016 bei acht Flüchtlingen aus dem Horn von Afrika einen multiresistenten Tuberkuloseerreger. Die Analysen lieferten den Anstoß für eine länderübergreifende Untersuchung und den Aufbau eines europaweiten Alarmsystems.

Dendritische Zellen als potentielle Zielzellen

Das Team um Luciana Berod hat nun Dendritische Zellen (DC) als potentielle Zielzellen für die Tuberkuloseimpfung untersucht. Dendritische Zellen sind antigenpräsentierende Zellen, die eine zentrale Rolle in der zweiten Phase der Erregerabwehr spielen: bei der adaptiven Immunantwort. Allerdings steckt die Entwicklung von DC-Impfstoffen in den Anfängen. Sie sind bislang noch inneffektiv und sehr kostspielig und daher nicht für die Regionen geeignet, in denen die Tuberkulose am schlimmsten wütet: die armen Länder der Welt.

C-Typ-Lektine als geeignete Ziele?

Also müssen neue Angriffspunkte gefunden werden: „Unter den zahlreichen Rezeptoren der Dendritischen Zellen, sind die sehr spezifisch exprimierten C-Typ-Lektine, so genannte CLRs, besonders geeignete Ziele für eine Impfung gegen Tuberkulose“, sagt Lis Noelia Velasquez, Wissenschaftlerin im Team von Luciana Berod. C-Typ-Lektine erkennen fremde Zuckerstrukturen auf Krankheitserregern, die sich von Zuckerstrukturen auf körpereigenen Zellen unterscheiden und lösen daraufhin eine Immunantwort aus. Und sie eignen sich, um Wirk- oder Impfstoffe in die Immunzellen einzuschleusen. „Mit Hilfe des DC-SIGN Rezeptors aus dieser Rezeptorfamilie können wir gezielt mykobakterielle Antigene in DCs einschleusen. Wir koppeln sie an einen Antikörper, der sich gegen DC-SIGN richtet und induzieren damit spezifische Immunantworten gegen Mycobacterium tuberculosis“, sagt Institutsleiter Prof. Tim Sparwasser. „Damit ist uns gelungen zu zeigen, dass in dem bisher wenig beachteten Rezeptor DC-SIGN das Potential für eine neue Zielstruktur für DC-basierte Tuberkulose-Impfstoffe steckt – oder vielleicht sogar für weitere intrazelluläre Pathogene.“

DAY OF THE SHOOT:

It’s finally here. The long awaited day for my billboard shoot. As the person I was originally partnered with dropped out of uni I asked my friend/class mate (Emily) to assist me. I picked up my equipment from CLR the day before and left it in the staffroom. Me and Emily met in the studio at 8am. I wanted to meet early because I wanted time to set up the lighting and backdrop before my MUA, models and stylist arrived. 

I managed to book out all of the lights I needed from CLR, however I couldn't book out a backdrop. Because of this - I bought my own just in case I couldn't use the one in the cupboard.
