Keep the US Postal Service Independent
Trump is planning to take control of the United States Postal Service after firing the entire Postal Board and placing the agency under the control of the Commerce Department. The Postal Board of Governors cannot be legally dismissed without cause, and Trump’s attempt to override the system is an illegal takeover that threatens mail-in voting, veterans’ jobs, and the public’s ability to receive affordable mail service. This comes just days after Postmaster General Louis DeJoy announced his resignation following five controversial years at the agency. The USPS is mandated to provide affordable service to every zip code, but privatization could result in significant price hikes, post office closures, and slower mail—especially in rural areas.
Beyond delivering mail, USPS is also one of the largest employers in the country, with over 635,000 workers—including nearly 100,000 military members and veterans in its workforce. Privatization would put these jobs at risk.
Congress must act now to prevent this blatant power grab and ensure the USPS remains independent, affordable, and accessible to all Americans.

Getting my ADHD meds since moving has really been a nightmare.
I had three months left on my prescription back in Louisiana, but after trying to transfer it to three different pharmacies and failing, I finally realized it can't be transferred to another state. Something about my prescribing doctor not being licensed in Virginia?
I also tried to have it shipped to me from Louisiana, but put a Virginia address with a Louisiana zip code. It is lost in the system now and neither DHS or USPS could change the address. So there is a lonely bottle of Qelbree just circulating around and around in the mail. 😞
I had my last pill last Monday. I somehow managed to find someone to see me on Thursday - and the grocery store across from my apartment building has a pharmacy!
I thought meds were finally in reach!
But fate wanted me to go fuck myself.
Turns out that pharmacy can't order Qelbree. Why? WHO FUCKING KNOWS. NOT THE PHARMACY TECH I TALKED TO.
So I called pharmacies. Trying not to sound like a crazy, desperate person while asking if THEY can order Qelbree. The pharmacy closest to my girlfriend's house can!
At this point it is 4 pm on a Friday. I called my new therapist and asked, please, can they transfer my prescription to this other store and call me back once they did???
Sure thing, says the perky person on the phone.
No call back. I check at the new store pharmacy - they have nothing under my name and birthdate. And my therapist is not available on weekends.
So I have to call back tomorrow and see WHAT IS UP.
At this point, I am probably gonna have to start the medicine all over again. Which means a week of 100mg once a day. Then a week of 100mg twice a day. Then finally back to my 200mg extended release.
I JUST WANT MY MEDS THAT MAKE MY BRAIN WORK RIGHT. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

What Should I do if I Get an AVS Mismatch but Address is Correct?
Address Verification System (AVS) mismatches are a common challenge in online transactions and can be frustrating for businesses and consumers alike. When an AVS mismatch occurs but the address is correct, it’s essential to understand the root cause and take appropriate steps to resolve the issue efficiently. In this guide, we will explore what an AVS mismatch is, why it happens even when the address is accurate, and what actions you can take to prevent or address such discrepancies.
What is an AVS Mismatch?
AVS is a security measure used by credit card processors to compare the billing address entered during a transaction with the address on file with the card issuer. If the numeric portion of the street address or ZIP/postal code doesn’t match what the bank has on file, an AVS mismatch is triggered.
Common Causes of AVS Mismatches Despite Correct Address
Formatting Differences: Variations in how addresses are entered can result in mismatches. For instance, "123 Main St." vs. "123 Main Street" may cause issues.
Outdated Bank Records: The customer’s bank may have an old or incorrect address on file.
International Address Entry: AVS is primarily used in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. Other countries may not support it fully.
Typographical Errors: Minor typos in the address input can lead to mismatches.
System Glitches: Sometimes, the payment processor or bank may encounter a temporary issue.
What to Do When You Get an AVS Mismatch But Address is Correct
1. Double-Check the Address Input
Carefully review the entered address for any typographical or formatting errors. Ensure it matches the billing address exactly as registered with the issuing bank.
2. Confirm Address With the Bank
Ask the customer to verify their billing address with their bank. Sometimes, customers forget that their bank still has an old address on file.
3. Use Address Normalization Tools
Implement address validation and normalization APIs that format addresses according to USPS or Canada Post standards. This helps align input addresses with bank records.
4. Contact the Payment Processor
Reach out to your payment gateway to understand why the mismatch occurred and if there's a way to override or verify the transaction manually.
5. Allow Transaction with Manual Review
In low-risk scenarios, consider flagging the transaction for manual review instead of auto-declining. This ensures that legitimate customers aren’t turned away.
6. Educate Your Customers
Provide clear instructions during checkout about entering the billing address exactly as it appears on bank statements.
Preventing Future AVS Mismatches
Use autofill and address validation tools on your checkout page.
Offer address suggestions based on verified postal databases.
Regularly update and test your payment gateway integrations.
Consider a fraud detection service that uses multiple indicators, not just AVS.
Final Thoughts
While AVS mismatches can be a headache, understanding why they occur and how to address them can reduce false declines and improve customer satisfaction. A strategic approach that combines technology, communication, and manual review can ensure smoother transactions and better security.

What Are the Destinations Your Mail Piece Is Moving Ahead Through?
Every mail item passes through multiple checkpoints before it reaches its final destination. Knowing these stages can help you better understand transit time, detect delays, and optimize your mailing strategies.
Typical Mail Journey: From Sender to Recipient
Collection Point: The journey begins when the mail is dropped off at a mailbox, post office, or picked up by a courier.
Local Sorting Facility: Here, mail is sorted based on the destination ZIP code.
Regional Distribution Center: From the local facility, it moves to a regional hub for further processing and long-distance transport.
Transportation: The mail piece is moved via truck, air, or rail, depending on distance and service type.
Destination Sorting Center: At the receiving end, the mail is sorted again based on local routes.
Local Post Office or Courier Hub: Before final delivery, mail goes through a last round of sorting at a nearby post office.
Delivery to Recipient: Finally, the item is delivered by a mail carrier to the recipient's address.
Key Destinations in the Mail Flow
Origin Facility: The first processing point.
Transit Hubs: Intermediary centers that connect different regions.

How to Prevent Address Verification System Mismatches?
Address Verification Systems (AVS) are crucial for ensuring accurate mail delivery and fraud prevention in e-commerce and payment processing. However, mismatches in AVS can result in failed transactions, lost shipments, or poor customer experiences. Here's how to prevent AVS mismatches effectively.
1. Use an Address Autocomplete Tool
Implement an address autocomplete feature during checkout or data entry. Tools like Google Places API or postal validation APIs reduce user error and increase accuracy.
2. Validate Addresses in Real-Time
Real-time validation flags incorrect addresses instantly. This allows customers to correct entries before completing the transaction.
3. Standardize Address Formats
Ensure addresses conform to postal standards (e.g., USPS, Canada Post, Royal Mail). Standardized formats prevent mismatch errors during verification.
4. Educate Users
Include tooltips or formatting examples (e.g., ZIP code structure) to guide users during input.
5. Match Billing and Shipping Information
In payment processing, AVS compares the billing address on file with that entered by the customer. Encourage customers to enter the exact address as it appears on their credit card statement.
6. Allow Address Verification Bypass (When Appropriate)
For known, trusted customers, allow an AVS mismatch override with manual review. This avoids lost sales due to overly strict rules.
7. Use International Address Support
If you ship globally, ensure your AVS tool supports international formats and languages. This prevents mismatches due to regional differences.
8. Regularly Update Your Address Database
Clean your database periodically to remove outdated or duplicate addresses. Use third-party address validation tools to enrich and verify data.
9. Employ Machine Learning Algorithms
Advanced systems can detect patterns in mismatches and suggest corrections automatically. This improves your system’s intelligence over time.
10. Monitor AVS Failure Rates
Track and analyze AVS failure rates. High mismatch rates could indicate a problem with your entry forms, validation software, or user behavior.
SEO Optimization for AVS
Keywords to include: prevent address verification system mismatches, avoid AVS errors, address validation tips, billing address mismatch prevention
Meta Description: Learn how to prevent Address Verification System mismatches with tools, tips, and best practices. Improve delivery accuracy and customer satisfaction.
By implementing the strategies in these three articles, businesses can maximize marketing effectiveness, build stronger relationships, and streamline operations in a digitally connected world. Each piece offers SEO-optimized insights that align with Google’s content guidelines for faster indexing and higher search visibility.
