BT-7274 is God? Question mark?

Ok I was semi-joking about there being Christ allegories for BT in Titanfall but the more I think about it… he’s a figurehead of a rebellion, and his mortal human equivalent he selects to be a vessel of his will/mission is Jack Cooper. JC.

The giant and horrifically powerful, alien artefact they discover about to be used as a weapon is named the Ark. When the IMC attempted to harness its power at first, BT says some of the remaining bodies have “aged unusually,” and their facility was destroyed.

Special Operation 217 is their mission to stop the IMC from using the Ark to destroy Harmony, BT tells Cooper they are “duty bound” to complete it.

Hidden manna apparently means like, being saved? If humans (Jack) can help BT carry out the plan and overcome the IMC’s sin then BT will save them all and reward Jack with the “white stone”, which is supposed to represent a special and secret kinship with God.

Before he is fully destroyed, BT first sustains a wound on one side

after which he is murdered, then resurrected through Jack’s loyalty, then chooses to die of his own accord in order to save humankind and Harmony, because I guess they didn’t want to call the planet Peace.

BT’s “Holy Spirit” is his super-advanced AI, which he can transfer to Jack “in order to permit communication across time shifts”

and which he uses to communicate with his beloved human across time and space even once his physical form is consumed by the Ark. See: special secret kinship

BT is a Vanguard class titan, the first mechs created solely by the Militia and possessed of the most advanced learning capabilities of any titan. Fashioned and given understanding so that they may obey the laws of the Militia’s commandments, so that they will be glad when they see BT because he represents hope? Humans as the gods of machines? Created in their image to save the world?

Warren, the gunslinger who Rook is quite close with and almost views as a father figure fucking died during today's session. PERMANENTLY. As in "truly dead and never coming back". (It's been planned for months, apparently.)

And he died saving Rook (which wasn't planned but worked out perfectly). Rook had just died (temporarily), and was on a piece of ledge that was about to crumble and fall. So Warren runs over there, pushes Rook onto stable ground, and uses his magical tarot card he's had for months to revive Rook.

The ground breaks out from under him and he falls, along with both of the bad guys we're fighting. He knows both of them can teleport, etc. so he uses a bomb that he has with him and blows the three of them up.

His last words? (before he fell) "I have to get Rook." 😭😭😭

My poor baby boy who already feels SO incredibly guilty over causing the party pain (bc of the Sigmar mess) and already hates himself SO much, now is utterly convinced that he is 100% responsible for Warren's death. Not only bc Warren died to save him, but also because if Rook hadn't befriended Sigmar, none of this would have happened.

But now, the core member of the party, the one everyone looked up to and loved and trusted more than anyone else -- the one Rook looked up to and trusted more than anyone else -- is dead.

I already wrote Rook's "eulogy" for next session's funeral, and dear god, I've written some depressing shit, but I think this takes the cake. I could write an ESSAY about what I chose to say in that eulogy, and why it hurts more than the party will ever even know.

Lout of the Count's Family Zine - Sample #2: Lost in a Child's Paradise

Hope everyone's doing well! This post is to promote a pay-what-you-want charity zine related to Team One from the webnovel/manhwa Lout of the Count's Family I had the pleasure to write some pieces for. Please check it out!

“Team Leader! You can’t just run off like that!” said a panicked company worker. Roksu ignored him, storming off from the meeting room he just came from, his pursed lips and crossed brows showing his great ire.

The worker, apprehensive of what the heads of the company would say, tried to chase after Roksu, widening his steps for a chance to catch up, but to no avail.

“Too bad. Tell the higher-ups that today is my day off. If they don’t let me have it properly, I’ll quit,” said Roksu as he walked out of the organization’s building, his long tan coat flowing behind him.

He couldn’t believe he was called in for an “urgent task” that could’ve been easily handled by any other team at a lower level than his own. It was his day off, for goodness sake! He was supposed to be picking up his niece from daycare, not dilly-dallying with any sort of menial task, especially on this important day.

Once he reached his company building’s parking lot, Roksu got into his car, closed the driver’s door with a loud SLAM, and secured his seat belt. His phone connected to the Blacktooth speaker of the car, starting to blast an old movie soundtrack he found in the MeTube playlist of the original Kim Roksu. 

Although the music somewhat calmed him, Roksu was still annoyed by the earlier encounter with the company worker, so he aggressively drove out of the lot, his brows furrowed and his grip on the wheel tight.

While driving to the daycare, he received a call from Sohoon.

“Team Leader, did you just leave the building?”

Roksu groaned. He knew that concerned tone meant Sohoon was going to nag at him for being rude to that random worker. So, he used his secret weapon.

“Please, dongsaeng-ah. I’m kind of busy at the moment. Can I call you back later?”

There was a long pause on the call before Roksu heard a flustered huff from Suhyeok’s end.

“Heh heh… d-dongsaeng?… Jeez, Team Leader. You… Seriously, you have to tell me more about this later, okay? Minah sunbae is also gone... Why am I the only one working today? :(”

“Thanks, dongsaeng-ah. See you later,” replied Roksu, smiling amusedly at his subordinate’s whining.

With another huff, Sohoon ended the call.

Even though that short call lifted Roksu’s spirits a little because he got to tease Sohoon, Roksu was still a little bitter and quietly complained to himself about how he was going to be late as he drove faster to his destination.

Eventually, a one-story pale yellow building came into Roksu’s view. In the space in front of the building was a large yard with patches of grass surrounded by a painted white fence. From the yard, high-pitched shrieks of laughter were heard as little children were playing games like soccer and hopscotch. Outside the gate, other guardians were also picking up their children, walking hand in hand with them to get to their cars and go home or another destination.

Roksu double-checked his bag to make sure that he brought his wallet and ID. Having one annoying inconvenience was enough for the day. He didn’t want another problem at the daycare with some random daycare worker thinking he was a threat or kidnapper. It wasn’t his fault that his dark clothes and height made him look scary to the children. Though, that was a story for another day.

After parking safely in front of the daycare, Roksu slowly got out of the car.

“Uncle Roksu!!” shouted an excited high-pitched voice.
