“unreliable narrators” is not code for “arbitrarily cherry-pick what you believe to be true from the text based on vibes and what you want to happen, and ignore any textual evidence that contradicts your theory-fanfic on the grounds that narrators are unreliable” it means you have to be skeptical and think critically about what every character says. only by evaluating the text in a holistic manner is it possible to determine the narrative truth.

you cannot just say “well this character is just lying/wrong, because unreliable narrators” – you need to actually interrogate the context. are there discrepancies between what this character said and what has been said by other characters? what about things we’ve been shown, not recounted to us through the lens of a character’s dialogue? does this character have a motivation to lie? are there relevant facts of which this character is not aware that might change their view? is the character stating a conclusion based on logical reasoning from the information they have or are they speaking from emotion? does the character have any biases that might inform their interpretation of what they know or see?

same as many other young dragons hatched from the eggs kept in the vault on Vroengard, Qursuk did not avoid some effects of the radiation on the island. the effect on his ability to fly is negligible and one he can easily compensate for, but it does give him a unique flight pattern he can be easily identified by

this soundtrack genuinely makes me so emotional like damn. the jack vs fiona scene at the end of ep 2 is already so perfect and then they had to go make this beautiful as hell ost with it too. those bastards

#yeah im gonna gush abt the borderlands ost again #it slaps so hard and i dont see many people talking abt it SOB #but this one especially got me by the balls #cause it really adds to the intensity of the decision of whether you should trust jack or fiona #like you can feel rhys' nerves and conflicting emotions through the soundtrack alone #cause even tho you yourself know jack is Bad and fiona is the objectively good option you also know that rhys has a different perspective #fiona is a pandoran con artist which should be reason enough to not trust her (dude is NOT immune to hyperion propaganda)#but shes also tough and survived for 29 whole years WHILE ALSO protecting her sister so she's gotta be doing something right #and even rhys could tell fiona is very genuine. plus they set out to find the vault together so he kinda has to trust her at some point #but then theres jack who hes idolized for so long and hes literally in his ear telling him not to trust fiona #but trusting jack means giving jack way too much access to his cybernetics and even tho hes a massive fanboy hes also aware of jacks nature #and on top of this hard decision theres also a time limit. like he had to make this choice on the spot #IM TELLING YOU MAN THAT SCENE IS CRAZY. I GET GOOSEBUMPS THINKING ABOUT IT #and no matter who you pick at the end youre always like 'well. this doesnt bode well'#because youve either essentially given jack access to your brain or youve pissed jack off and neither of those are good #rhys was in a lose-lose situation there #txt

the abyss but what it looks like is based off of the hunters memories. it expands with each death in a vault, taking bits and pieces and building, creating something that should feel familiar to the hunters, something they should want to trust, something that is every so slightly Wrong

standing by my angel!cas endgame truth while also kicking my feet and giggling writing cute domestic human!cas post-canon fics. a woman can do both

#i like a semihuman cas who is still an angel in every way that matters but loves eating dean's cooking and falling asleep together #sweetest softest headcanon is that cas chooses to temporarily become human to live out dean's normal human lifespan and grow old together #and then when dean is about to die (of old age!!!!) cas takes his grace back so they can cross into heaven together as angel + human #while on earth he puts a little bit of it in dean's wedding ring or smth #i have thought about the logistics of this btw. because cas would always want a bit of his grace close for emergencies.#so even before they're Married dean has a little vial of it #and cas has a little vial of it #and a third vial is in a vault in the bunker warded and protected #because also cas would want the opportunity to become an angel again at a moment's notice to save someone's life etc #also i like the idea that angels are actively maintaining their vessels so cas lets his physically age so they get old together #i wrote a fic about that :)
