Ooooooh @caitylove tagged me and I'm so excited to do this! I try really hard to vary my chapter/fic starts, so I'm curious to see how well I've done!

One Dear Perpetual Place (BSG, E): It was hard enough to keep a class of kindergarteners focused and on task, but it was even harder with the laughter and noise coming from next door.

In Among the Weeds (Star Trek: Voy, M): Kathryn thought she’d never want to see space again.

In the Dark of the Night (BSG, T): The first few nights on New Caprica, nighttime was the liveliest part of the day.

Somewhere in Space (BSG, G): She sat against the far bulkhead, nearly blending in with the darkness of the room, but her silhouette interrupted the starlight from the large window and told him right where she was.

Brave Enough to Fall (BSG, T): Sick Bay was silent, holding its breath even as the rest of the ship, the rest of the Fleet, continued on.

So The Battleship Will Sink (BSG, M): The alert came when the Raptor was closer to Galactica than Colonial One, only confirming what that Raptor’s own sensors did: a baseship had jumped into range with Raiders headed toward the Fleet.

In The Stars (Star Trek: Voy, G): Voyager was different, somehow both quieter and louder than Ocampa. The sounds of the engines had kept her up those first few nights, but now she found comfort in them.

Begging for Salvation (BSG, Final part to the Wild West AU, E): Laura wiped her boots on the stairs as she climbed onto the porch, trying her best to get as much of the mud off as she could.

Easy Touch (BSG, Second part to the WW AU, E): Laura wiped her arm across her forehead, clearing away the sweat that had formed from the summer heat.

Beneath the Desert Stars (BSG, First part to the WW AU, T): The sun was low in the sky, a palette of reds and purples creeping toward the deep indigo of twilight and even darker blue of night.

Hi again with more basic asks!

What are your & the Dorfs’ least favorite colors? Do they tend to be in the cooler half of the spectrum (purple, indigo, blue, green) or the warmer half (yellow, orange, red, pink)? Do they tend to be darker or lighter? Or is it fairly split? What specific general colors do they tend to be? (Red, purple, yellow.) And, what specific hue? (Crimson, lilac, canary.) Of the specific shades, do those ones tend to be an exception to the rule or might there be a general distaste for that overall color? (Ex: I don't generally mind yellow much & even like certain shades; more so if it's used well alongside other colors, but there's this particular shade of yellow that I just don't like at all. It's this sort of… nasty shade of mustard with a bit of an orange undertone to it. I'm scrunching my nose as I type just thinking about it.)

I'm sure that there are definitely reasons for these color choices in particular. For WW, I'll bet he doesn't care much for 1 specific shade of green. My guess is the specific shade that Time Link wore (I think it's Forest Green either #1bb04c or #228c22).

(At the same time, I doubt that the other Dorfs would care much about what their Links wore unless this is specifically addressing their opinions on colors in the afterlife/seal.)

You know, I really dont have a hatred for any colors, though I can have a certain distaste? Um, I suppose I have always had a dislike for Pink, though not for the soft pastel pinks but for the sharper ones. The reason I dont dislike alot of colors is because I associate them with my family, really. Dad likes Green, Ma likes Yellow and Purple, Little Sib likes Red and Pink, Big Bro likes Black and Orange, I like Blue. Dont really have a feeling either way, but I lean away from the sharp Pinks.

The Ganondorfs and Demise might have particular dislikes for certain colors, reflecting their personalities and the themes surrounding them.

Color Preferences and Dislikes:

Wind Waker Ganondorf:

Hated Colors: Bright yellow, emerald green.

Spectrum: Warmer half (yellow), Cooler half (green).

Specific Shades: Canary yellow, emerald.

Reasoning: The bright yellow could remind him of the sun and the cheerful world he detests, while emerald green is directly associated with Link.

Ocarina of Time Ganondorf:

Hated Colors: Bright blue, lime green.

Spectrum: Cooler half.

Specific Shades: Azure, lime.

Reasoning: Azure blue might remind him of the purity and serenity of the water temples, which are often opposed to his dark power. Lime green is associated with Link's tunic, a constant reminder of his nemesis.

Twilight Princess Ganondorf:

Hated Colors: Bright pink, turquoise.

Spectrum: Warmer half (pink), Cooler half (turquoise).

Specific Shades: Neon pink, bright turquoise.

Reasoning: Neon pink is too frivolous and vibrant, clashing with the twilight theme he embodies. Turquoise could remind him of Zant’s treachery and the realms of light.

Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf:

Hated Colors: Bright white, deep violet.

Spectrum: Warmer half (white), Cooler half (violet).

Specific Shades: Pure white, deep violet.

Reasoning: Pure white represents purity and the forces of good, while deep violet is associated with darker magics he might find too close to his own power, yet not his.

Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf:

Hated Colors: Pastel blue, royal blue.

Spectrum: Cooler half.

Specific Shades: Sky blue, royal blue.

Reasoning: Pastel and royal blue represent the skies and heavens, domains of the goddesses, which he seeks to challenge and overthrow.

Demise:

Hated Colors: Golden yellow, forest green.

Spectrum: Warmer half (yellow), Cooler half (green).

Specific Shades: Goldenrod, forest green.

Reasoning: Golden yellow might remind him of Hylia’s light, which he despises. Forest green represents the land of Hyrule and the hero’s connection to it, both of which he wishes to destroy.

General Observations:

Spectrum: Most of them seem to lean towards disliking colors in the cooler spectrum, especially those associated with Link or the elements of water and sky. However, there is also a distinct distaste for brighter, more cheerful colors in the warmer spectrum, such as yellows and pinks.

Specific Shades: Their hatred for specific hues tends to be personal and symbolic, rooted in their experiences and conflicts with the heroes and gods. For instance, certain greens and blues are despised because of their association with Link and Hylia.

Overall, while they have individual tastes, their color dislikes are often symbolic of their hatred for their enemies and the worlds they wish to conquer or destroy.

How do you feel about the new Indigo Disk mons? Personally I think Hydrapple is sick as fuck.

This answer will be under cut due to spoilers as it came out today.

I'm going to get these guys out of the way real quick cause I don't have a lot to say about them. In general, I am not a fan of robots/mechas, and Violet's Paradox pokemon, to me, are boring as it's the same mon but robot. Actually seeing them go robotic is what had me decide to get Scarlet over Violet. Only thing that tempted me was that Miraidon looked better for bike lizard, but the majority of the Paradox mons I just didn't like. I think only other I liked was Iron Thorns, but not enough to get it.

Of the... Iron Justice Trio (?), I actually like Iron Crown and Leaves the most.

Of the Justice Trio, Virizion is the one I liked the most. Iron Leaves doesn't do much to improve them, but I kinda like it cause I like Virizion the most of the trio.

Iron Crown for me actually improves Cobalion for me. In some shots in the trailer, it actually looks majestic and fierce. I think with this, they were just able to polish the design better cause Cobalion to me just... always looked awkward. Like, it has blocky noodle legs. I don't like it. And by the lighting it looks like it's wearing a skintight jumpsuit and I don't like that. So, yeah, Iron Crown really improves and polishes up Cobalion's design. At least for me.

Iron Boulder is just... meh. I don't really care for Terakion (similar issue to Cobalion in that it's just kinda awkward) and I wasn't expecting too much.

Walking Wake I actually wasn't too crazy about initially.

I will say, a big part of it was that I was salty we didn't get that sketch. I really liked the look of this thing. It looks like something you would ride into battle and it'd be epic.

And then we got Walking Wake and it's like, oh.... ok.

But WW has grown on me, but if I had to pick between it or Suicune, I'd go with Suicune. It's not my favorite of the Paradox Beast Trio. Maybe it's making that shift of going onto two legs that throws me while the other two stay on four, so it's not so jarring? Idk.

Raging Bolt I liked more than Walking Wake, I think it's just so silly I can't help but kinda love it. It may be my fav of the trio.

I do wish they picked a color to stick with. It's kinda messy with the red and the blue, and there are others in agreement. Some artist even go with blue over the red.

Gouging Fire, initially, I want to say I like what I see.

But it's also kinda busy, so I'm in that spot where I kinda like it but I'm also unsure. Maybe I just need to see them in the game and how they move.

Duraladon I didn't really like, so Archaludon does nothing for me. When I first saw it, I wasn't even sure what I was looking at or knew where to rest my eye. So it's a mon I'm never going to use.

By leaks and rumors, Hydrapple was a pokemon I was excited to see, and I gotta say, I do like it. In general, I love the Applin line, it's such a cute punny pokemon.

It makes me wish Flapple and Appletun got an evo too, cause they feel like 2nd stage pokemon and could go further. Like, Appletun could've gone draconic turtle apple pie thing, and Flapple could've gone farther as a wyvern. Maybe one day.

Honestly, only thing that's disappointing is that it turns out those rumors were wrong and it's not our first Bug/Dragon. So, not yet sadly. But I am looking forward to trying it one day.

Terapagos was the legendary I was most intrigued with. And then I saw the apparent true form in the anime.

Yeah I'm... I'm not crazy about it. My interest kinda dropped a little. The head is cute, but the rest of the body makes it look like some weird poodle. I like this form much more and I rather they stuck with it as the true form.

I also saw that Terapagos has another Tera form, which so far, I can't find an image of it to share but I have caught glimpses, and atm, until I can get a good look, I have no idea what I'm really looking at. There's a lot of visual noise with that Tera form so I haven't really processed it yet in the bit I've seen.

Lastly, Pecharunt, I can't quite tell what I'm looking at yet. A butterfly??? I'm not sure. Supposedly this corrupted the "Loyal" Three, and is the true mastermind, or so I've heard. But of what I see doesn't impress me or interest me as much. It may be a matter I just need to look at it when there's better quality images and footage out.

So for me, with the Indigo Disk, new mon wise is probably a positive but mixed bag. There are some I like, and some I don't.

Indigo Disk E4 (plus Champion), their Trials and Party Members

I was hoping to help people as I didn't have any real help during the DLC, so I wrote a rough list of each of the Indigo Disk's Elite Four and their teams, trials and whatever moves I was made aware of during my battle with them. So here it is below. Be warned, this is unbelievably long as I also make notes at certain points for tips and help

Chrispin, the fourth and lowest member of the Elite Four:

Trial before battle; make a super spicy sandwich (as written by game08 below)

Onion Chili Sauce Jalapeno Chorizo Mustard

After the trial and onto the battle under here;

Party Members: Talonflame (uses sunny day, perfect for WW and Hydro Steam and also uses Brave Bird too, so no Ogerpon during the beginning), Fire-type Rotom, Exeggutor, Camerupt, Magmortar, Blaziken (Teras into a fire type, speed boost, focus blast and a real ass tbh)

Best Pokemon here would be, at least from my experience, Walking Wake (if you have it, that is, I don't know of any good replacement for WW if you don't have him. Maybe Azumarill?) and Garchomp (Ground Tera type and Adamant nature: Bulldoze (or Earthquake), Sword Dance, Rock Tomb, and Dragon Claw) alongside maybe Water type (Wellspring mask) Ogrepon.

AN: I say maybe Earthquake as it will also hurt your second party member you throw out unless they're a flying type, so that's why I mentioned Bulldoze instead as a less strong alternative making sure you do accidentally KO your own Pokemon in the process.

Drayton, the dragon-type elite four is the second rank under Kieran.

Trial: Use no Pokemon that weren't from the Terariaum or weren't caught from you (like Pokemon from other games for example) and fight three people. From my experience, have a Duraludon and an Abomasnow. Both are at level 80-86-ish for being able to beat this easily.

AN: Abomnasnow (Lax nature with Ice Punch, Blizzard and Sheer cold) should hold Leftovers and use Ingrain every time you enter a battle to slowly regain health and then take it from there whilst the Duraludon I used has a Quiet Nature and has: Dragon Claw, Flash Cannon, Metal Busrt and Breaking Swipe. I hope this has helped a little, and if the Pokemon you catch don't have those above natures you could either use a mint or just hope it doesn't play any part in the battle :p

Party members: Dragonite, Flygon, Kingdra, Haxorus (focus sash, earthquake), Sceptile, Archaludon (dragon-tera type)

AN: Zacian is perfect for most, if not all of these people with small bits of tinkering, obviously. But Zacian is literally unstoppable.

Amaryas: the steel type elite four (she is fucking weiiierdd…. like real weird.)

Her trial: Fly through rings on your mount around the terrarium and there are Magnemite ones that add more time to your counter. Get to the goal in time and you succeed.

Her party members; Skarmory (rocky helmet, stealth rock), Alolan Digglett (focus sash and earthquake), Scizor (bullet punch), Runiclus (leftovers, protect), Empoleon, Metagross (steel tera type, headbutt, hard press)

(AN: Be very careful when going against her Metagross, it knows Hard Press, a move that could more than definitely OHKO and likely could since it does the most damage with full health. And if you aren't fortunate and or weak to it? She'll likely sweep you clean. I used my Zacian (Adamant Nature, Crowned: Sword Dance, Sacred Sword, Behemoth Blade and Crunch) and my Slither Wing against her (Adamant nature: Superpower, Leech Life, Low Sweep and Bulk Up) for the most part before having to eventually bring out Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon to take over due to Cranberry fainting who helped ease through Metagross and Runiclus while Zacian handles Empoleon and some of the others.)

Lacey, the fairy type elite four, and the third strongest:

Her trial: A Pokemon quiz!

What part of the body does Pikachu store electricity in? Answer: cheeks. Pikachu stores the electricity in their cheeks.

What part does Venonat's body act as a radar? Answer: The eyes. Its eyes are like radars!

Which Sinistea is an antique and not a phony? Answer: the middle one, the middle has a mark of authenticity on the bottom when it spins around.

Which minior is the pink one? Answer: the one on the middle-ish bottom right-hand side of the screen.

Which part of Granbull does Lacey use as a pillow? Answer: the tummy/stomach area.

Team/party members: Granbull, Whimsicott (focus sash, light screen), Slowbro (quick draw, tailwind, flamethrower, sitrus berry), Primarina, Alcremie (alluring voice, leftovers) Excadrill (fairy tera type, high horsepower)

(long AN: Again Zacian comes in helpful here, while i'd also recommend also having a Tinkaton with you to help try and sweep her, while trying to take as little damage as possible. (Tinkaton, Naive nature with Steel Tera type: Gigaton hammer, Metal claw, Draining kiss and Sword dance) whilst Zacian has an Adamant nature like earlier with fairy type: Behemoth blade, sword dance, metal claw and play rough in case. She does use her Excadrill as mentioned before and I recommend having something that can be strong against fairy but not faint to ground as I was lucky enough to have high friendship with both and they dodged it and was able to KO the ground type. Or you could give Tinkaton a Focus sash in case it does hit and be left with one HP while Zacian still holds the Rusted sword

AN: I literally had no business beating his ass with two Fairy types but succeed. Iron Valiant (Adamant Nature, Fairy Tera type: Moonblast, Sword Dance, Spirit Break and Drain Punch) with my Zacian now mainly running Fairy and fighting over steel instead. (Adamant nature, Fairy tera type: Sword dance, Sacred sword, and Play Rough with Poison Jab)

And unfortunately, your Pokemon don't get ribbons or anything of the sort from winning so a major bummer, but whatever I guess. Plus, Kieran has no right to walk about with Pokemon who literally get for the most part OHKO'd, seriously. It makes you wonder what the others who fought him were using to get him to such a high ground or grandeur to think he was unstoppable.

Name: Test Subject Juno

Role: A supposed Test Subject of Winterkill Works whose exact abilities are as unclear as her origins. All-consumingly obsessed with her long-missing older sister, she seems to live in a world of her own... and also seems to have deeper connections with Winterkill than a mere Test Subject should.

Age: 18 (physically)

Height: 5’3

Appearance: Juno is a petite woman with dramatic curves and doll-like features. She’s pretty in a fragile, sweet-looking way, yet her rose-pink eyes are eerily empty. Vivid indigo hair, parted to one side, falls past her shoulder blades, and most clothes struggle to contain her figure. She wears extravagant fashion at all times, including seven-inch platform boots.

Personality: To most of Winterkill Works, Juno is an enigma. She’s quiet, distant, and unnervingly polite in most circumstances, yet underneath her sugar-sweet tone, there’s only cold disdain for those around her. Always even-tempered and seemingly unconcerned with even the most distressing circumstances, she takes “minding her own business” to its farthest extent. The reality is that Juno cares for one thing and one thing only— her sister. And it’s when her mysterious sister is involved that Juno’s possessive, delusional, love-sick side comes out in full. Unafraid of using cruelty to get what she wants, she’s a heartless person who sees no value in the lives of others. When provoked, she’s snarky and bitingly cruel with her words.

Positive Traits: Juno is a passionate person with strong emotions and more love in her heart than she knows what to do with. While that love is, unfortunately, all directed at one person, she’s capable of being truly sweet and caring. Dedication is second nature to her, she’s highly patient, and her loyalty goes beyond most people’s comprehension. Generally, she’s polite and well-mannered (on the outside, at least), and she both gets along with others and knows how to get her way in social situations. 

Negative Traits: Juno is an odd combination of apathetic and overly invested. When something matters to her, it consumes her every thought. When something doesn’t, she can’t even pretend to care. She’s pushy, demanding, obsessive, and doesn’t know how to take no for an answer, completely uncaring of others’ feelings. Everyone other than Juno’s sister is a tool in her mind; just something to make use of in whatever way she sees fit. She’s delusional, overly emotional, and somewhat detached from reality.

History: Juno’s background is unknown to most of Winterkill Works. It’s assumed that Winterkill herself has an idea of her past, but that would make her the only one with any solid information. And Juno keeps it that way. The only thing she’s open about is that she has a dearly beloved older sister who she’s been separated from for quite some time, and that she joined Winterkill Works as a means of expanding her ongoing search. No one quite knows what she means by that, and no one wants to ask. 

Relationships: Juno generally keeps her distance from the other members of Winterkill Works. She’s not close to any of the other Test Subjects, though few of them complain about that. Despite her overall pleasant behavior, she’s considered vaguely uncomfortable at best to be around, so no one minds her keeping to herself. The only person she has any frequent interaction with is Winterkill, and that part is obviously to be left alone. 

Interests: Juno likes fashionable clothing, feelings of love, and her sister. She dislikes loneliness, unnecessary people, and things that get in the way of being with her sister. Her interests are a mystery; it seems that she’s devoted most of her personal time to searching for her sister.

WW Role: Juno’s role in Winterkill Works is unusual. While she’s technically one of the specially separated “Test Subjects” used for advanced research, it’s unclear what experiments, if any, have actually been done on her. However, the group she led prior to volunteering herself as a test subject supplies financial aid (among other things) to the organization. 

Miscellaneous: Out of the other Test Subjects, Juno is closest to Jupiter... though that’s not saying much. She excels at scathing verbal remarks and insults that cut to the core, all said in the same even, polite tone as ever. She moves in her favored seven-inch platform boots with perfect ease, never stumbling or losing her balance. Highly aware of her beauty, she puts a lot of effort into maintaining her looks. She’s disturbingly comfortable with blood, gore, and suffering. No one dares question her frequent absences from the group— she always comes back, and never says a word about why she left.

Connotative Description: An obsessive, delusional young woman with a mysterious past, whose only apparent motivation is finding her long-lost older sister. Involved in far more than she lets people know.
