Something I Am Doing For Some Research: What Would The Gerudo Do for Courtship Rituals/Acts?
Gerudo courtship rituals, based on their culture in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, would likely emphasize strength, independence, and the warrior lifestyle of the Gerudo people. Here are some possible courtship rituals, reflecting the Gerudo's unique way of life:
1. Trial of Strength or Combat Skills
Since the Gerudo value physical prowess, a courtship ritual might involve a display of strength or combat skills. A Gerudo woman may challenge a potential partner to a sparring match, where skill and tenacity are more important than victory. Winning is less important than proving one's resolve and competence.
Variation: Instead of a fight, a partner could undergo a series of challenges or trials in the desert, such as surviving a sandstorm or retrieving a rare desert flower or artifact, demonstrating their worthiness.
2. Gift of the Desert
Gerudo may court by exchanging meaningful gifts related to their desert homeland. A Gerudo woman might gift her suitor a beautifully crafted weapon, armor, or accessory made from materials native to the desert. Similarly, a suitor could present rare items that show an understanding of Gerudo culture, such as jewelry adorned with desert gemstones or rare flowers from the area.
Symbolism: The exchange of these gifts represents the importance of resilience, resourcefulness, and an appreciation for Gerudo heritage.
3. The Watchful Guardian
In Gerudo culture, protection of loved ones and allies is crucial. A potential partner may prove themselves by silently watching over the person they wish to court during a period of time, such as when the Gerudo woman is engaged in a task or undertaking a journey. This "guardianship" is a non-intrusive way of showing dedication, respect, and reliability, without overt intervention unless absolutely necessary.
4. Ritual Dance of the Gerudo
Dance is part of Gerudo culture, as seen in their traditional practices. A courtship ritual might include a dance performed by the Gerudo woman and the potential partner. The dance would likely be one of power and grace, symbolizing unity and the synchronization of two individuals. It could take place under the stars or around a ceremonial fire, deepening the bond between the pair.
5. Sharing Water and Food
In the harsh desert, water is sacred, and the sharing of water could be a significant courtship gesture. A suitor might offer water or a carefully prepared meal as a sign of care and respect. This act would symbolize a willingness to provide and ensure the well-being of the other, showing dedication in a fundamental, life-sustaining way.
6. Mutual Tattoos or Marks
The Gerudo may have a tradition of marking a bond with symbolic tattoos or temporary body art. During courtship, both individuals could receive tattoos or apply traditional Gerudo body paint, symbolizing their connection. The designs might include desert imagery, such as cacti, the sun, or sandstorms, representing endurance, life, and unity.
7. Proving One’s Knowledge of the Gerudo Way
As a proud and independent people, the Gerudo value understanding of their customs. A potential partner could be tested on their knowledge of Gerudo traditions, such as their laws, dances, language, and history. Passing this "test" would show not only dedication but also deep respect for Gerudo culture.
8. The Desert Flower Ritual
The Gerudo may have a sacred ritual surrounding the desert lotus or another rare flower that only blooms under specific conditions. Finding such a flower and presenting it to a Gerudo warrior would be a powerful sign of devotion. The partner would have to navigate the harsh desert, proving their endurance and ability to understand the Gerudo’s desert life.
9. Rite of Shared Silence
A Gerudo courtship might involve a period of silent companionship where two individuals work, travel, or rest together in silence. The ability to be comfortable without constant conversation would reflect mutual understanding and trust, which is valued highly in their society.
These rituals would align with the Gerudo’s values of strength, independence, loyalty, and respect, while also incorporating the significance of their desert environment and warrior spirit.
************************************************************************
I like some of these, but I want more details or more specifics... What do you all think?

Masterlist fanfic Yandere!Batfamily X Reader
NONE OF THESE FANFICS BELONG TO ME, this is more of a personal reading list of fanfics I follow and such, all the links lead you to the creators' direct blogs.
Almost all the fanfics in the 'platonic' section are with Neglected!Reader, I'm addicted to that trope.
More than one link will lead you to the authors' master list instead of a masterlist for the series. This is because they don't have a dedicated list for the series, and it was easier for me to keep them this way. (There are also links to the first chapter, in this case, the author probably left the other chapters there, in addition to imagines, headcanons, and drabbles on their own.) I thought about adding a short description below the links to explain what the fanfic is about… maybe I'll do it later or just leave it as it is.

Use of ChatGPT
People's main worry regarding chatGPT is whether or not real people will mimic them online. Use of ChatGPT is able to provide responses that are identical to human responses thanks to its sophisticated language processing abilities. Because of this, a key query on our minds is, "Is ChatGPT a threat to cyber security?"

How would the Ganondorfs (Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, Hyrule Warriors, and Tears of the Kingdom) & Demise react to being pelted by marshmallows?
Like everytime he starts to be evil, do dastardly things, or plot, random fuckin' marshmallows of various shapes and sizes pelt him in the face.
Wind Waker Ganondorf
Wind Waker Ganondorf would first be caught off guard, the marshmallows knocking the wind out of his plotting mid-sentence. He’d glare around, eyes narrowed, as though daring the invisible assailant to strike again. After a few incidents, he’d start catching them in midair, huffing with mild amusement as he tries to continue his evil planning through the barrage. “Is this supposed to deter me?” he’d mutter, smirking as he ponders how to turn this strange annoyance into a game. He might even joke about making it part of his plot, storing some in his cloak as snacks.
Ocarina of Time Ganondorf
Ocarina of Time Ganondorf would be irritated beyond belief. Every time he tries to get into his scheming stride, a soft marshmallow would smack into him, halting his ominous laugh or his menacing plans. “What is the meaning of this?” he’d roar, voice shaking the walls as marshmallows bounce harmlessly off his armor. He’d start brushing them aside with annoyance, but eventually, he’d begrudgingly try a bite, realizing they’re not all bad. After a few incidents, he’d develop an exasperated tolerance, though he’d privately curse the day he encountered them.
Twilight Princess Ganondorf
Twilight Princess Ganondorf would react with dark confusion. The first time a marshmallow smacked him in the face, he’d stop, staring at it with utter disdain. “Are you mocking me, Hyrule?” he’d sneer, utterly baffled by the soft and squishy interference. No matter how menacing he tried to be, another marshmallow would boop his nose or stick to his cape. Though he’d find it maddening at first, he might let his SO secretly see a rare, grudging chuckle after it happened too many times to ignore. But no matter what, he’d ensure that marshmallow pelting was treated as the gravest of interruptions.
Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf
Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf would take it as an insult to his grandeur, a slight against his powerful image. “Who dares assault the Demon King… with marshmallows?” he’d growl, sweeping the marshmallows off with a single irritated swipe. His minions Zant and Ghirahim would watch in stunned, barely concealed delight as their powerful master fended off the fluffy onslaught. Despite himself, he’d feel a flicker of humor that he’d only express in private, though his pride would never let him admit that these small, silly missiles could thwart his composure. Eventually, he might even keep a few, muttering, “I’ll use these in my own time.”
Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf
Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf would react with cold fury at first, eyes flashing dangerously. The first marshmallow to hit him would be obliterated in an instant, and he’d halt mid-sentence, clearly thrown off. Yet, as the barrage continued, he’d realize with reluctant amusement that these tiny puffs were more persistent than any enemy he’d encountered. “Very well,” he’d say under his breath, sighing as another one smacks his shoulder, but his lips would twitch with the hint of a smirk. Soon, he’d reach the point where he catches them with ease, even keeping one or two for a private snack when no one is watching.
Demise
Demise would take this marshmallow invasion as the highest form of disrespect. The first puff to smack him would be reduced to ashes on the spot. “Who defies me with these… trifles?” he’d demand in a thunderous voice, though the marshmallows would continue to pelt him with relentless softness. Eventually, though, he’d recognize the marshmallows as nothing more than an inconvenience—and a fairly harmless one at that. Despite himself, he might eventually chuckle darkly, murmuring, “It would take more than sweets to stay my wrath.” But each time one landed, his expression would remain a fearsome warning, as though he were planning a marshmallow-free vengeance.

i'm gonna need ya'll to put the AI art down because it's rotting your fucking brains
what do you mean you'll only watch the adaptation of your favorite book "if it's AI"? what do you mean "only AI art can do justice to the characters"? never mind that every piece of character "art" AI spits out all looks like the same version of a photoshopped plastic mannequin. never mind that it relies on actual, stolen art to even exist. never mind that big studios are already trying to find every possible avenue to replace talented, dedicated human workers with AI
it terrifies me how willing some of you are to yield our crafts, our humanity, our passions in favor of worshipping at the altar of the black hole of vapid soullessness that is AI. all because the actors they cast don't live up to the insane, arbitrary standards you made up for your fictional boyfriends
I beg ya'll to think critically. I beg you to consider the very real implications of the things you say. because they exist and they aren't fucking pretty.

When President Donald Trump began yesterday’s announcement of the White House’s latest trade policy brandishing a novelty-sized cardboard sign labeled “Reciprocal Tariffs,” the immediate and nearly unanimous response was bafflement. Trump slapped a 10 percent baseline tariff on all imports into the US, including from uninhabited islands, plus absurdly high rates on specific countries, supposedly based on “tariffs charged to the USA” — which didn’t match up to other, non-cardboard-sign-based estimates. Stock markets have plummeted and consumers are facing down sharp price hikes on potentially almost everything they buy. Where did these numbers come from? Apparently, an oversimplified calculation that several major AI chatbots happen to recommend. Economist James Surowiecki quickly reverse-engineered a possible explanation for the tariff pricing. He found you could recreate each of the White House’s numbers by simply taking a given country’s trade deficit with the US and dividing it by their total exports to the US. Halve that number, and you get a ready-to-use “discounted reciprocal tariff.” The White House objected to this claim and published the formula it says that it used, but as Politico points out, the formula looks like a dressed-up version of Surowiecki’s method. In case you weren’t sure, Surowiecki calls this approach “extraordinary nonsense.” So why did Trump’s team use it? Well, like plenty of people who’ve realized their homework is due in three hours’ time, it seems like they may have been tempted by AI.

Nobody gives a shit about disabled people when we can’t work or when we are denied access from buildings or when we’re begging people to just wear a goddamn mask so you won’t kill us/make our conditions worse, but as soon as AI comes into the conversation all of a sudden people are INSISTING you are ableist and hate disabled people if you think the art stealing- false information spreading-earth killing-machine might be bad actually.

generative AI is an existential threat to creative spaces. fandom is a community governed space, so it's crucial that we collectively draw a line in the sand about its use. we must not try to distract from the issue at hand by attempting to deflect or dismiss it as an issue of fandom bullying or ship wars. creators must be transparent about AI use and the only way to enforce this is collectively, as a community, if we want to protect the precious creative space that is fandom.
