so before i even entered the garden i actually already shipped plance without realising but at that time i saw their relationship as more of brother and sister which is what most people see anyways but after entering the garden i realised NO EVEN THOUGH THEIR ACTIONS CAN BE PERCEIVED AS SIBLING LOVE THEY DON’T ACTUALLY TREAT EACH OTHER LIKE SIBLINGS

so this has actually been stewing in my brain for a while but watching s7e10 again AND READING ALL THE POST ABOUT HOW PLANCE IS JUST A BROTHER-SISTER RELATIONSHIP is the main reason i am making this meta BECAUSE in S7E10 we get some Lance-Veronica moments specifically the one where they’re driving to the building they’re gonna snipe at lemme just show you (ps. i’m don’t live in america, and our netflix only has the first 2 seasons WHICH SUCK COS THERES SEVEN DAMMIT, so i can’t get the screenshots with subtitles, so i made do, but if anyone wants to contribute, mate i won’t say no)

he knows what Pidge is capable of he knows she doesn’t need protection he knows she can probably protect him better than he can protect her

he sees her beyond a little sister he sees her as his equal

when this happened he wasn’t protecting Pidge because he thought of her as his sibling HE SAW HER AS HIS FELLOW PALADIN HIS BEST FRIEND SOMEONE WHO IS BEYOND BLOOD SOMEONE HE LOVES VERY MUCH AND WHO HE DOESN’T WANT TO SEE GET HURT BUT ALSO SOMEONE WHO COULD FIGHT ALONG SIDE WITH HIM AND PROTECT HIM TOO (please refer to s2e10)

lance doesn’t live on earth as a farmer very long. he enjoys living peacefully, telling allura’s story. i dont think allura reciprocated his feelings in the same way, but allura was never his first love, anyway. the stars were, and he can’t stay away from them.

lance may not have been made for war, sure, but he wasn’t meant to just be a story teller, either- he was born with adventure and discovery and curiosity in his bones. so one day, when his altean marks feel less like battle scars and more like skin, and he no longer reaches for allura’s picture in the middle of the night, pidge calls him to tell him that she’s searching for something- an ancient technology, perhaps, one from legends- says it could be a major breakthrough in her research, and for humanity.

he answers, and the marks on his cheeks shine like the stars.
