Mody/CC (wirusy) te kradną nasze hasła do kont (nawet bankowych!) i inne ważne osobiste dane!
Dlatego poprosiłam go, aby zaktualizował moda tak, aby dało się go przetłumaczyć.
Cult Mod v2
Social Events - Unlimited Time
Weather and Forecast Cheat Menu
Seasons Cheat Menu
Motherlode Menu
Mood Cheat Menu
Mouth Preset N16
Cult Sex Mod v1

!Important Warning!
These Days some Mods containing Malware have been uploaded on various Sites.
The Sims After Dark Discord Server has posted the following Info regarding the Issue:
+++
Malware Update: What We Know Now To recap, here are the mods we know for sure were affected by the recent malware outbreak: "Cult Mod v2" uploaded to ModTheSims by PimpMySims (impostor account) "Social Events - Unlimited Time" uploaded to CurseForge by MySims4 (single-use account) "Weather and Forecast Cheat Menu" uploaded to The Sims Resource by MSQSIMS (hacked, real account) "Seasons Cheats Menu" uploaded to The Sims Resource by MSQSIMS (hacked, real account)
Due to this malware using an exe file, we believe that anyone using a Mac or Linux device is completely unaffected by this.
If the exe file was downloaded and executed on your Windows device, it has likely stolen a vast amount of your data and saved passwords from your operating system, your internet browser (Chrome, Edge, Opera, Firefox, and more all affected), Discord, Steam, Telegram, and certain crypto wallets. Thank you to anadius for decompiling the exe.
To quickly check if you have been compromised, press Windows + R on your keyboard to open the Run window. Enter %AppData%/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/UserData in the prompt and hit OK. This will open up the folder the malware was using. If there is a file in this folder called Updater.exe, you have unfortunately fallen victim to the malware. We are unware at this time if the malware has any function which would delete the file at a later time to cover its tracks.
To quickly remove the malware from your computer, Overwolf has put together a cleaner program to deal with it. This program should work even if you downloaded the malware outside of CurseForge. Download SimsVirusCleaner.exe from their github page linked here and run it. Once it has finished, it will give you an output about whether any files have been removed.
+++
For more Information please check the Sims After Dark Server News Channel! Or here https://scarletsrealm.com/malware-mod-information/
TwistedMexi made a Mod to help detect & block such Mods in the Future: https://www.patreon.com/posts/98126153
CurseForge took actions and added mechanics to prevent such Files to be uploaded, so downloading there should be safe.
In general be careful, where and what you download, and do not download my Mods at any other Places than my own Sites and my CurseForge Page.

⚠ beware of MALWARE that have infected multiple mods for the sims
Recently different mods were uploaded/updated under fake accounts or through hacking existing accounts of trusted creators, that have been infected with malware. The malware hides in the scripted package of the script mods, it downloads and run an unknown exe file silently without the user knowing. Because it's an exe file, Mac and Linux users might be exempted for now. The goal of the virus is to steal a vast amount of your data and saved passwords. (For a full explanation and to stay updated on the problem check out sims after dark: https://simsafterdark.com/malware-warning/) 🔸 the awesome modder TwistedMexi has recently released something called ModGuard, this tool scans your mods folder and blocks suspicious items. If you want to have it install it directly from TwistedMexi: https://www.patreon.com/posts/98126153 🔸 known mods to have been affected at some point recently:
“Cult Mod v2” uploaded to ModTheSims by PimpMySims (impostor account)
“Social Events – Unlimited Time” uploaded to CurseForge by MySims4 (single-use account)
“Weather and Forecast Cheat Menu” uploaded to The Sims Resource by MSQSIMS (hacked, real account)
“Seasons Cheats Menu” uploaded to The Sims Resource by MSQSIMS (hacked, real account)
“Motherlode Menu” by MSQSIMS (hacked, real account)
“Mood Cheat Menu” by MSQSIMS (hacked, real account)
“Mouth Preset N16” by PlayersWonderland (hacked, real account)
“Cult Sex Mod V1” from LoversLab
🔸 if you have downloaded these mods recently delete them ASAP!
Overwolf made a tool that can remove the installed virus: https://github.com/overwolf/sims4-social-events-cleaner/releases/tag/1.1
Change all your passwords etc immediately!
You might need to contact your bank to tell them your credit card info is no longer secure. Some banks give you the opportunity to report suspicious activity. In case you do not trust it, just block your card and request a new one.

SIMS 4 MOD MALWARE
This isn't what I usually post about, but theres been malware from sims 4 mods. Specifiallly from mods hosted onCurseforge, TheSimsResource, and ModTheSims. It's a lot like the Minecraft Fractureiser virus. The downloaded mod's contain .EXE files that steal personal data and harm computers. The current known infected mods:
"To recap, here are the mods we know for sure were affected by the recent malware outbreak: "Cult Mod v2" uploaded to ModTheSims by PimpMySims (impostor account) "Social Events - Unlimited Time" uploaded to CurseForge by MySims4 (single-use account) "Weather and Forecast Cheat Menu" uploaded to The Sims Resource by MSQSIMS (hacked, real account) "Seasons Cheats Menu" uploaded to The Sims Resource by MSQSIMS (hacked, real account) "Motherlode Menu" uploaded to The Sims Resource by MSQSIMS (hacked, real account) "Mood Cheat Menu" uploaded to The Sims Resource by MSQSIMS (hacked, real account) "Mouth Preset N16" uploaded to The Sims Resource by PlayersWonderland (hacked, real account)" -copied from the sims after dark server!
I'm horrible at explaining but please go check out this post on reddit, run an anti-virus scan if you downloaded any recent sims 4 mods, and perhaps join the sims after dark discord server.

TS4 Malware via .TS4SCRIPT mods
(Copied from my Patreon)
Hi everyone, I figured I would make a post about this just in case anyone who follows me has not yet been made aware of the malware issues happening currently in the Sims 4 modding community.
Several days ago malware was discovered within a few mods that would silently steal info from your computer such as passwords and private information. This malware was then found to be in many other mods, as early as August 2023. It appears to mostly affect script (.ts4SCRIPT files), but be wary of .package files as well. Please read more about this on this reddit post and consider downloading TwistedMexi's ModGuard malware protection mod: https://www.patreon.com/posts/98126153 to keep yourself safe. There is also this website with information about the malware, known affected mods, how to check if you have been infected by it, and what to do if you have: https://scarletsrealm.com/malware-mod-information/
This malware affected user accounts which appear to have been hacked, or fake accounts made to mimic real users primarily. The list of known mods that were affected are:
Cult Mod by _PimpMySims
Social Events – Unlimited Time by MySims4
Weather and Forecast Cheat Menu by MSQSims
Seasons Cheats Menu by MSQSims
Motherlode Menu by MSQSims
Mood Cheat Menu by MSQSims
Mouth Preset N16
If you have downloaded these mods, please follow the advice in the reddit thread/website linked above. Please stay safe and vigilant when installing mods if you are continuing to do so currently.

Last Exception)
"Weather and Forecast Cheat Menu" на The Sims Resource от MSQSIMS (взломанный аккаунт) - название на русском "Меню читов погоды и прогноза"
Введите в строку %AppData%/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/UserData и нажмите OK.

’99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer, take one down, pass it around, 98 bottles of beer on the wall’…
Mild hysteria in both our voices, oncoming traffic lights, lighting up the salt streams running down beetroot coloured cheeks, eyes squeezed together so tightly, with a force in her lungs to be reckoned with.
I’d had a bad feeling about the first camp spot, ‘something just doesn’t feel right’ as I screwed up my face apologetically. There was something about camping next to a heavily logged area of forest which gave me a sad sunken feeling, a graveyard for trees made me draw a little deeper for air, knotting in my stomach. The fast flowing river on the other side of us juxtaposed the feeling of sadness with life and vitality and an eagerness to swim, but we pushed on, with a slightly passive aggressive tone floating around the van and a groan for dinner in our bellies.
My gut feeling pushed our eta a little later than we’d hoped, most of all, for the little beetroot faced girl sitting in between us.
I had worried a little before departure, we’d traveled in the van so many times before, longer and farther distances. I was longing for the simple life, basic routines, outdoors even when you’re in doors with the selfish flexibility to stay or go, to see where the wind would blow.
We were quickly realising that we needed to slow down, rushing from one spot to another was not conducive to a 6 month old, nor conducive to our own level of sanity and it felt good, new perspectives.
The last few nights in the van I had starred out of the window and into the stillness of the night, darkness laden with stars, temperatures dropping, my back covered in goosebumps, wedged against the cold metal of the barn door, with one slightly chilly boob exposed and a hungry little girl attached.
How life had changed.
Having to get ‘nowhere quickly’ was starting to create a new perspective, a shift in mindset enabling the appreciation of those seemingly mundane moments. Finding something quite methodical and beautiful about piling our bags on the front seat ready for bed, washing up in stream water, putting the bed away and making the bed at night, tag teaming to go to the toilet or brushing our teeth. Feeding into the early hours.
Those first few days, the weather proved favourable for us, gifting us with blue skies and the kind of warmth that feels like you really deserved it, small pockets of Autumnal grace warming the parts of us exposed and making those cold water dips that little more bearable.
The Lake District proved to be some of the coldest water we’ve both swam in yet, painful, stabbing all over our bodies, stealing our breath as we submerged into the most beautifully emerald water, crystal clear. Each of us looking on as the other floats down the river, navigating rocks and mini rapids. A little part of us enjoying the others discomfort along with a sense of camaraderie. Taking turns, now a necessity.
Have you ever seen a horny Bull? Weird question maybe, but when one sets its sights or its smell on a field of unassuming cows, you soon learn that fences just don’t exist, merely a slight obstacle, a nuisance if you will and you want to be as far away as you possibly can.
Sheets of glass welcomed us that evening, with that Autumnal late afternoon light, casting favourable sun flares and romanic feelings, I think we even held hands at one point. It was the light to give those van legs a resurgence of energy.
No matter how many times we’ve thrown a ball for Dillon and watched him launch, with pure joy into the water, each time it seems like the first time, somehow still elated by the sight of that moment, mid air, all limbs outstretched, anticipation on his little face. And honestly, a slight jealously stirs inside that you can want something so bad as if it’s the first time you’ve ever had it, time and time again, like a really really good groundhog moment.
Hot dogs with all the trimmings were on the menu that evening, oh and sliced baby fingers. Note to self, always remember when you’ve opened a can of beer and placed it in arms reach of your baby, she will want to play with it and most probably, start playing it like a singing bowl. The never ending emergence of guilt revealed itself to me with conviction that evening. A few tears, a little bit of blood and she was fine, I wasn’t. A play mate for Dillon began to soften the blow as they played well into dusk, dropping the ball onto the van door mat, eyes drilling into us ‘please throw, please throw, please throw’. People began to congregate and beach fires started to emerge, embers flying straight up and into the windless night. We would fall asleep to stillness and I’d wake to feed the babe to chilly temperatures, 3 or 4 degrees at most.
The next morning saw a slow relay of running, swimming and stretching, James held out the baton and it was my turn. Pausing on the shoreline, bikini clad at the start of the Caledonian canal, water running down my goose pimpled skin, enjoying the surge of heat glowing through my body from the mix of salt and fresh water. Each rock on the bottom as clear as looking through glass.
Just towards the fields behind the van, we watched a bull, come out from no where and start charging the length of 4 football pitches, barbed wire fences separating each field. He’d become entangled in each fence and momentarily be stuck, bucking his legs. James and I looked at each other like ‘what do we do?!’ And then he’d kick his way free and onto the next, same scenario, before bulldozing the last fence, straight through and into the woodland and up into the field of grazing cows, blissfully unaware of what was about to hit them. It amazed us, that sheer one tracked focus, the brutal strength and discard for anything in his way.
Further North and well into Scotland, the good weather came and went and as a good friend recently said, no family holiday would be complete without a couple of nights in a static caravan. We watched low tide turn to high from inside the warmth and through the rain drenched window, the side rain now relentlessly beating down, wind so strong the sides shaking. Normally I would have felt like we were cheating on the van, but honestly, I couldn’t have been happier sat watching the weather, inside and dry.
The caravan sat on the far east of the peninsula, unspoilt and wild, stretching out into the Atlantic Ocean, a single track road leading to the most westerly point on the Great British mainland.
There was no rush, nowhere to be, no waves to chase.
The weather cleared, patches of sunshine with rain, rainbows decorating the sky.
We made the slow way west, the sound of cameras clicking as we inspected the sun kissed ever changing landscapes; enchanted woodland into open pastures, tucked away bays and mountainous passes; taking it in turn to dash from the van, catching precious moments in between showers. Sometimes, just staring out, cameras down, impossible to capture.
Castles at low tide, friends with nordic cabins looking out over hills rolling into lochs with mountains lacing the edges, unsuccessful fishing spots revealing hidden bays for swimming and the babe taking her first ever picture, first of many I’m sure.
We’d been keeping an eye on the weather chart, heavy rain and strong winds on the forecast. Hopping on the ferry we headed north and into the eye of the storm. Sunshine joined us over the short and relatively smooth crossing, although it doesn’t take much for me to seek out somewhere to lie down, breathing the fresh air in deeply, wooziness on the horizon.
The wind continued to increase throughout the day as we pulled up to our camp spot, positioning the van with what felt like a million micro adjustments to save ourselves from the soon becoming Gail force head winds.
Watching on, hikers pitched single man tents on the grass in the most exposed of areas which unfortunately just happened to be the flattest. The swell in the bay was small but what there was of it was boasting white caps, foam blowing onto the shingle and across the bay.
I thought a lot about those hikers over the duration of our short stay. They were in for a rough night, thats for sure, struggling to erect their tents in the first place, sides bowing into themselves and away from the oncoming wind, no doubt pressing up against them and their kit, now sheltering inside. Condensation building. They would fall asleep to torrential rain and wake up to it, relentless, no break. But I envied them. And not because I wanted to be anywhere other than where I was, but because I know that feeling, the rollercoaster of feelings which come from doing something physical and getting completely drenched, feeling uncomfortable, tired, irritable and ravenous but so full of satisfaction and overwhelming joy that its been anything but a fair weather experience, instead, a full on adventure. I imagined them finding a pub a couple of days later when their hike was over, pint in hand, hearty meal on the table, cheeks rosy with that immediate fuzzy feeling, contented satisfaction.
Maybe I’m just a romantic though.
Maybe they all hated every second.
Walking up the rough track, we gazed out towards the dominant cliffs and across the bay, waterfalls scattered in the hills, watching the weather as it crept in visible sheets across the sky; most of the hikers tucked up inside their canvas sheets, a couple still frantically tying down guy ropes.
‘I think it’s gonna skirt across and miss us’, he says hopefully. Looking towards the looming sky, I didn't share his optimism. But we kept walking upwards, stretching our legs, tripping over lose rocks, struggling a little with fatigue and the extra weight strapped to me in her pile fleece onesie.
There is always the need to move, in life, in general but no more than when we’re on the road. So much sitting and snacking, the body gets restless and the mind starts to irritate and there’s only so much van chair yoga before you start to feel the opposite effects.
And so it begins, that piercing side rain that was ‘definitely’ going to miss us. Oh it hurts and it’s so wet, the kind of rain that soaks you instantly, no rain jacket, just a fleece, absorbing all the moisture, jeans sticky and heavy, arms wrapped around the little warm parcel strapped to me, asleep, oblivious.
The wetness would continue into the night and all of the next day too, completely relentless.
It was a full moon, we were trapped inside the van, tensions were high and there were almost tears over spilt gnocchi.
Luckily we’re still married.
Just.
The problem with being a Pisces is making decisions. Hard enough with one pisces. Even harder with two. We sat in a lay by eating sandwiches, refreshing the iPhone and what the weather was predicting for the next week. It looked bleak for where we were and there was a pull for sunshine and waves in Ireland, but an even bigger niggle in my belly that we hadn’t even scratched the surface of Scotland, the thought of leaving without further exploration left me feeling a little empty. Plus, how often is the weather right anyway?
And so we made the decision (after five long hours) to keep heading North, further exploring the wonder of the west.
“ROAD CLOSED”.
‘You’re fucking kidding?!’
This wasn’t your usual road closure, this was the kind of road closure which had you driving from the west coast to the east, driving North and then back West again. What should have been an hour journey, turned into four.
In the dullness of the fading light, the massive mountains sprouted up from the earth and engulfed us, dwarfing our van and the road we drove along through the nature reserve, waterfalls in mountain sides, precarious sheep teetering on the edge, green everywhere with rock walls lining the way and running off in all directions, at all different elevations across the face.
It was still raining when we found our camp spot, but it was irrelevant.
Our van sat off the quiet road on a small patch of grass with rocks flowing from the sliding door and down into the loch, the tide was high and the sound of mini lapping waves was delicious. The air breathed purity down into our lungs and the anticipation for a swim the next day gave us bursts of excitement each time we ventured for a nature wee. This trip was quickly becoming the ‘cold water swimming holiday’ and I couldn’t have been happier about it.
Im learning that life, now more than ever, runs in stages, a bad stage feels endless, whilst a good stage is laced with anxiety knowing that it wont last. We had a sleeper, we didn’t even realise how lucky we were but we’d keep quiet when others would talk about multiple wake ups and multiple feeds, didn’t want to jinx it. We were slowly starting to join the latter stage.
Those early feeds in the vans were also presenting me with a sneaky peak into a very special time of day/night, nobody around, just the two of us awake with wildlife right outside the door venturing closer for inspection, feeding, wandering. Deer right outside the van, owls hooting, foxes scurrying and those stars, on a clear night, are enough to send you into a dream like state no matter how awake or tired you feel. So much is happening when we’re sleeping.
A beautiful sunny scenic walk would prove too much for our little girl, icy winds, streaming eyes, goose pimples and mini baby shivers, with the undertone of ‘we pushed it too far’, slight stress in each wobbly step back down to the van. While there were still snores and deep breaths into my chest, slumber and contentment, we gazed around at the beautiful valley, peering over steep cliffs whilst cliff faces in the distance soared up towards the clouds, pools of water decorating the rocky terrain, adding rocks to cairns along the way.
‘This one’s for Billie’, he proclaims.
We’d reached the part of Scotland I’d been daydreaming about in the lead up to the trip, the part of the country we could have so easily have missed had we made a slightly different decision, back in that lay-by, back in the torrential rain, the day of indecision.
Floating on my back, the icy water now spilling over my limbs, a sky of grey mist above, jagged rocks below. The babe strapped to her dad, Dillon at his side somewhere in the hills. I let my head fall back, ice-cream head threatening to bite, the air still, no-one insight. I can feel my energy levels going from zero to off the charts with every second, with every deep breath, the sleepless night washed off and a soothing reminder that the water never fails to be the natural compass back to myself.
Next stop.
The emerald Isle.

Twisted to a Fault Master List
Chapter 96: 2449 words
=====
“What do you think?” Rachel turned around in a circle and Young-Do clearly liked it but he still hesitated to give an opinion. She was curious about what his book told him to do now that she knew about it. She intended to read it the moment she got home. “Too sexy for an office brunch? I’ve got something simpler.”
“I like it,” he said as he put on his shoes. She wished he brought some of his better suits on this trip. She noticed he’d left the really nice ones at home. “But I always like what you wear. I’m not sure you’re going to be warm enough. It’s winter but not everywhere heats their buildings.”
“I’ll just wear your suit coat if I need to.” She wasn’t worried about being warm. Young-Do brought over the pair of heels she pulled out of her suitcase. He’d been surprised that she brought something like this with her. It was one of her mockups for Yours. It was the same silhouette as her aggressive and spiky purple dress, but red and yellows this time. She intended to wear it at a club she found that was high end and popular downtown.
“Then I might be cold,” he joked as she helped her into her shoes and jacket. He held up his hands when she took a breath to tease him. “I know, I’m hotter than you are, but you are definitely hot enough for me.”
Rachel giggled and tugged his tie so she could kiss him. She took his hand as he called down to his driver. This morning had been nice as they got ready for this quick meeting. The hiking gear was supposed to be delivered this afternoon and she’d shocked Young-Do when she told him they were taking a public bus.
“Have you ever been on a bus?” Rachel just rolled her eyes at him.
“It’s the best way up to the national park. While it would be fun to take your motorcycle, it is too cold for that and I assume you want your walking sticks, which are not easy to carry on a bike. Your driver will drop us off at the final stop before the bus goes straight to the mountain. That will be the easiest for people like us. He will meet us there in the evening. I assume you want to watch the sun set with me.”
Young-Do laughed under his breath and nodded. He put his hand against the small of her back and she turned into his body while they waited for the elevator. “You really planned this weekend well.”
“I am not going to half-ass my first surprise romantic trip.” She breathed him deeply. He always smelled so good. He’d probably figured out that she liked this particular aftershave. Young-Do, wisely, kissed her forehead. “I even asked Myung-Soo to let me borrow one of his good cameras but he refused. It will have to be cell phones.”
“He’s very particular about his cameras. He loves them more than anything else. Even the ones he doesn’t use anymore.” Rachel rolled her eyes again but kept her cranky thoughts about Myung-Soo to herself.
The brunch was a simple event to facilitate the signing of the zoning permits. It had a western menu and Rachel lit up at the chance of pancakes. Young-Do was now allowed to rebuild a hotel on his land and that his architectural designs had been approved and were ready for bids. She considered the young man who currently belonged to Han Ji-Hoon and wondered if Young-Do would be able to steal him back.
Hyun-Shik seemed competent enough. There was no mishap with her seat and no one looked askance at her. Rachel watched the table and let Young-Do command the respect he deserved. He appeared to be well liked by most of the men on his team and Rachel supposed she would have to get used to the lingering looks of the women.
She still felt smug when Young-Do took off his suit jacket and draped it around her shoulders when the coffee was served and she had given a little shiver. She really needed to read his book so he didn’t trick her into falling even further in love with him. Rachel enjoyed the way the table’s eyes tracked her hand when she put it lightly on Young-Do’s leg. She’d seen married women do this with their husbands and wanted to give that impression with her and Young-Do. There would be no daughters suddenly available to spend time with the lonely acting president.
“Your hackles are up,” Young-Do murmured in her ear after most of the people had left. “What did you see that I didn’t?”
“I am not going to beat other woman off of you,” she said after a moment. “That’s beneath me and I learned my lesson with Tan. That doesn’t mean I have to like the machinations of mothers wanting to sell their daughters to a chaebol.”
Young-Do’s brows lowered. “I will have to take your word for it. Did you enjoy the pancakes?”
“Of course, I did.” It was a calculated move, but she kissed his cheek. Young-Do’s face always softened when she showed affection in public, even when he knew she was doing it politically. Rachel pulled out her phone and then showed it to Young-Do.
“It’s all there. I had the delivery service put it in the apartment. Do you want to go look at it before we go downtown for dinner?” She smiled when he nodded and stood. He took her hand and bowed. Young-Do liked to have time to prep everything himself. He was the same way about his motorcycle. She didn’t mind sitting on the couch and working while he went through their packs and made sure they had everything. “Before you fret, I brought the boots you insisted I get.”
“Oh good.” He helped her into her jacket and put on his own before they went out to the car. He frowned at the darkening sky. Rachel frowned at it too. She did not want snow or sleet to mess up her plans. She checked the weather forecast. It wasn’t supposed to do this. “They have good traction so you shouldn’t slip if they haven’t taken care of the hiking path.”
They got in the car and Rachel just listened to him talk about the best kinds of gear and what they would need for tomorrow. He was incredibly excited and she wondered if he’d managed to pitch a hiking trip with his team yet. They would see what his passion really looked like. “You didn’t say much at the brunch today.”
“Did I need to? You had it well in hand. I was just there to make you look powerful.”
“You’re not a trophy to display. I don’t think of you that way.”
“I really need to read this book.” She said it lightly and quickly to hide how touched she was at this quiet insistence. “It makes you say such lovely things.”
“It was not a tool I picked up to manipulate you.” He briefly clenched his hands into fists before he forced himself to relax. “Rachel, I never really thought we’d be here. It had good suggestions for how to be a friend. I’d worked out some of it but…don’t see this book as some sort of cheat code I used to unlock you. You weren’t…Your friendship was never some sort of zone I was in. Yes, I wanted to be more but I was not unhappy being your friend.”
Rachel laid her head on his shoulder and took his hand. “I know. I was just teasing you because I’m uncomfortable when you say such sweet things to me. It’s going to take me time to believe you when you say I’m…not the worst.”
“Alright.” He kissed the top of her head. “I don’t think you’re the worst.”
She closed her eyes against the sting. She didn’t know why this meant so much to her. He was just a man and her sense of self should not be wrapped up in him. Once they returned to his officetel, Rachel grabbed her tablet and a blanket to sit on the couch and watch him go through their hiking gear. She pretended to be engaged with her designs while he took everything out, laid it on the coffee table, and repacked the backpacks. She had his favorite hiking snacks, the right kind of drink to replace their electrolytes, gloves, and the jacket that easily broke down into the three different layers. There were two emergency kits, the ability to start a fire if they got stranded, and everything else Young-Do always insisted he needed for a good hiking experience.
She caught him grinning at her when he finished putting the backpacks by the front door with the duel set of walking sticks so their hands didn’t puff up. “You listen.”
“I would be a bad friend if I didn’t remember the finer points of your last rant.” Her cheeks were warm as she stared at her tablet and didn’t meet his eyes. “Are you done? Is everything there?”
Young-Do took the tablet out of her hands after he sat down with her under the blanket. “It is perfect. Tomorrow’s going to be great. I’m really excited. I know hiking isn’t your thing.”
“Well, you are, so I will hike with you all day.” He kissed her and she was immediately turned on when he slid his hand up under her dress and stroked her thigh and hip. His thumb lightly moved along the skin just under her panties. “Do you think we could fuck without you messing up my hair?”
He blinked at her and started to pull his hand away but she shook her head. “I want to. I really want to. But I also really want to go to this restaurant and club I found. We haven’t gone dancing without Myung-Soo in nearly a year. I want to take advantage of it. Fixing my hair might take too long.”
Young-Do laughed but pulled a condom out of his pocket before pulling her onto his lap. “Okay, we can do it here. I won’t touch your hair.”
Rachel kissed him. “Look how far you’ve come,” she teased. He did a good job keeping his hands out of her hair while they enjoyed each other. It was fun to pass the time and work up an appetite. She was glad he’d let go of his inhibitions enough to have sex on the couch with her. Young-Do still made her take a jacket even though she was so warm before they went out to dinner.
It was nice and lived up to the reviews. She had fun feeding Young-Do dessert and letting him return the favor before they headed to the club. They got in quickly but once she saw the interior, she wrinkled her nose.
“What’s wrong?” Young-Do seemed to sense it too.
“There isn’t a coat check. The website and reviews made it seem better. That cover charge was no joke.” She sighed and hated that one of her plans didn’t look like it would be much fun.
“We can leave and try to find another club. Or just go back to the apartment.”
“No. We’re here. We can have a few drinks and dance a little.” She took his hand and saw that most people put their coats on chairs. Rachel made Young-Do put his wallet in his back pocket before reserving themselves a table. She slipped the strap of her purse over her should and across her chest. It ruined the lines of her dress but she didn’t want her wallet stolen either.
It took her about two songs to get into the mood. Young-Do even struggled to find a good rhythm. “What’s wrong?”
“You’ve got an admirer. I don’t like your admirers.” It made her smile and dance even closer. She needed whatever tool to understand, no matter what he looked like, she was here with the hottest guy, and had no intention of changing partners. Finally, by the fourth song, they were having fun and in sync. “I’ll go get us something to drink.”
“I’ll meet you back at the table,” Rachel said and headed to the lady’s room. She intended to touch up her makeup and couldn’t help but smirk when a few of the girls commented on her boyfriend. She had fun saying, “He looks good without the suit, too.”
It was less fun to exit the bathroom and see the few men that always waited at the end of the hallway to the bathroom. She’d forgotten about this part of clubbing after going out with Ji-Sun. Girls didn’t do this to each other. Nothing made her feel more like prey than walking out into that small, disorganized group of men, pretending to wait for their girlfriends on the off chance they could drag a single girl out onto the dance floor with them.
Rachel made her face as unattractive as possible, glowered at the men, and held her head high as she tried to walk past them. It almost worked. Then, one asshole had the audacity to say to her, “You’d be prettier if you smiled, bitch.”
She turned on her heel and glared at him. His words got the attention of a few other girls and she quickly found herself surrounded as the asshole walked up to her. “Smile, bitch.”
“No.” Rachel intended to just walk away and find Young-Do, but the man grabbed her wrist. Young-Do spent months trying to train her to automatically resist a man grabbing her wrist. Rachel yanked her hand against his thumb and towards her. Young-Do wanted her to be able to get her elbow into an attacker’s gut, so they practiced that too. The man doubled over and she stomped on his foot with her high heel. “Leave me alone!”
The only problem was the other two guys wanting to take a swing at her. She hadn’t intended to start a fight and now that she was cornered and terrified, she didn’t know what to do. One man tried to grab her hair but he was suddenly thrown several meters away from her. Her original attacker tried to tackle her but he ended up face down on the ground. The third guy ran away from Young-Do.
“Are you alright?” He didn’t even look winded. He did look angry.
Rachel looked at the two men crying on the ground as the club security finally showed up. Cameras were going off and she felt cold. “Call Go Nam-Il. Right now.”

Whereas I used to be the undisputed Jedi Master of not doing much at all, these days (despite probably needing to rest a little more occasionally) I can’t stop myself from endlessly moving from A to B.
It’s definitely an addiction now. I can’t do without it. I get really fidgety if I’m not outdoors when I have spare time.
I honestly feel like I’m cheating myself if I relax – and despite spending a lot of yesterday feeling a bit off colour it didn’t really dissuade me from still clocking up the miles, and I finished on 9.5 and almost completed my 20,000 steps.
When I awoke this morning at 6.30 my first thought (apart from wondering which herd of buffalo had been farting in my room all night) was to check the weather.
The forecast wasn’t good. Rain from midday onwards and some of it quite heavy.
Day ruined?
Hell no!
That’s just a set of circumstances that you find yourself having to take hold of events quicker than usual. I hopped in the shower, got changed, put some waterproofs and an emergency coffee in my rucksack and around an hour later headed out.
I’d consciously taken my cue from a bird from yesterday’s walk that never made the cut in my blog last night – who I’ve nicknamed ‘The Snipe’ after Kevin the bird in Pixar’s ‘UP!’
This was actually a female pheasant (link) who was (like my companion and I) was making its way along a footpath with dense borders on either side – but rather than take flight to avoid us it was perpetually running away from my companion and myself – and forever on the horizon, just out of zoom range from my camera and showing little more than tail feathers.
Finally we turned into a quarry and it made it’s escape on open ground, running with gusto for the security of a distant hedge.
I liked it’s style though.
I bet it really wasn’t sure why it was running – as there was nothing threatening about our behaviour – but nevertheless it was doing what nature intended it to do – and seemed happy enough.
I feel the same a lot of the time and I certainly did this morning. Despite still feeling slightly peeky (this is the correct spelling in Daveyland by the way for those who queried my choice yesterday. PEAKY is my hat – which is an easy mistake to make) I resolved to just get up and see where co-incidence took me.
Initially I thought I might go further afield than usual – but as I arrived at the train station the one I had planned to catch was just pulling away – with a two hour wait for the next one.
Plan B.
Stalking birds.
Although the weather was due to be awful later – by this point it was still quite nice – and there was even an occasional warm ray of sunshine.
This meant that when quite by chance when a Heron popped up from the river next to the bench I was sitting on in the park I got almost the perfect photo opportunity.
After a short while edging ever closer he/she finally sensed me getting too near and took off. After watching him gracefully re-locate I gathered my things together and checked my texts.
Ooooh! A coffee opportunity two miles away with my brother!
I slung my pack over my back, swigged the last of my drink and headed into town.
Along the way everything seemed quiet and green this morning – with next to no people at all down by the river.
There are usually lots of dog walkers and families passing through here and I’ve rarely stood by any of the bridges along the way without someone crunching along the gravel behind or in front of me.
Today though it was just me and pigeons – which for some reason made me stop and examine the rusty panels that I’ve blindly walked under many times before. They seemed strangely alluring in the light today and the greens all around me seem to be pulling the autumnal colours out of the metal.
I wonder how this will look when the leaves start to turn orange? I’ll have to come back and check in a few weeks!

Within another 20 minutes I was in town and drinking my second coffee of the day – and chatting to my brother. I unzipped my bag when (picking up a menu) he asked if I was also eating breakfast in the cafe.
‘Breakfast is free today!’ I said as I showed him the apples in my rucksack.
This may seem rather cheap of me – but on my way into town there’s a really kind home owner that clearly has a lot of apple trees – and they leave their surplus fruit on the garden wall for people to take.
This morning I’d grabbed a few as I passed by and they tasted delicious!

My brother laughed. I think he’s used to my penny pinching lately.
In contrast he’s got a shiny new toy and I couldn’t help but admire it’s heft.
It’s a chunky metal Android Wear smartwatch that wouldn’t look out of place on James Bond’s wrist. If weight is an indicator of quality then it’s definitely well made – and I began to wonder as I held it whether I preferred the square (which is maybe slightly nerdy now) Apple Watch face, or the classic appeal of a wearable with a circular face that actually looks like a real watch.
I’ve been thinking lately about Fitbits – not with a view to buying anything (with my non existent money) but just considering what I would do if my little friend suddenly died.
I doubt I would want to do without a fitness stat tracker anymore (it’s driven a huge amount of positive change in my behaviours) but now that my chief consideration is cost my choices would probably be very different if I had to make them again.
Despite me not liking the look of Fitbits I can’t deny that they do a very good job of their intended purpose, plus their phone application is superb – and way better than Apple’s own (IMHO).

The latest Fitbit Iconic (link) however seems very highly priced (£299!) and even uglier and more plasticky than its predecessor, despite being loaded with really useful features…
My brother and I (and his wife) agreed that this soon to be launched Fitbit was designed for Shrek, said our goodbyes and headed off to enjoy the rest of Sunday – which by now was going to be pretty damp.
It had started to rain while we discussed watches, but despite this I pulled up my hood and carried on in the opposite direction to home. I’d only done five miles. There was more to accomplish.
Sadly there was little to tickle my fancy once the rain started – and I really did look for things to do! Everything appeared to be closing or had failed to open at all today,
Everywhere seemed empty of life and people.
I took shelter for a little while in another park. As I munched on an apple I watched some geese – who unlike me were total gluttons for punishment and had chosen (in the increasingly inclement weather) to stand on the edge of a fountain in the middle of a pond.

They appeared to be really enjoying the soaking!
However – despite the day driving me slowly back under cover or indoors as I type at home I’ve done exactly 10.5 miles, meaning that my beloved average is intact and I have 20 miles and 40,000 steps completed for the weekend.
(Author’s borderline OCD breathes a silent sigh of relief)
I came home and cooked a rather lovely (even if I do say so myself) dinner that was fully on plan and then made myself a syn free frozen berry and yogurt dessert – so although it’s been a scrappy day I think it’s still been a success.
I didn’t spend it slumped on the sofa – which is always a win.
I think overall I did the snipe proud.
In other (possibly irrelevant) news I turned the heating on today for the first time in months and then put some fleecy jogging bottoms and a thick jumper on.
I never used to get cold, but the more weight I lose the more I notice it.
It’s weird – but also kind of brilliant!
Davey

The mowing is upon us
Mowing the quarter acre
So which bit of grassland this year? well it had to be back at the folly field. The countryside team spent a large part of the week leading up the scythe festival event mowing all the large and small plots. For once the weather forecast looked very reasonable, dry. In fact it has been so dry the grassland was looking a bit thin, could be some fast times this year.
Mowing the eighth
First races on the menu were the large plots. The quarter acre which is just over 1000m square meters and the eighth, a mear 500 square meters. Most of the contestants elected to mow very early in the morning, 6 o’clock to be precise. Some undertook the challenge the next day but most had finished by lunch time on Saturday.
The gallery below are photos from the early morning mow.
Dusk on Saturday night
The course
Later in the day, well actually ten in the morning the scythe course began and some eager students were soon mowing the meadow or should I really say a sheepwalk, most of what we were mowing was more akin to chalk land heath which is much drier. If grazed extensively then the flower richness can be retained but over grazing can lead to pasture degradation, weeds and loss of biodiversity.
Wympole bodgers undertaking surgery
As well as the mowing, the Wympole Green Woodworkers were in attendance making all manner of things from chairs to shingles, spoons, bowls and nicnacs. David spent most of his time weaving the elm bark seat to an ash chair while the forestry team planked some olive ash and field maple but also showed how to make cleft oak posts with even a race between the chainsaw and a hammer and wedge.
Saw milling
So who won? actually if you have a clean length of green oak timber then the sledge-hammer and wedges will probably always win and so it was although I think Paul will use the 120cc engine next time, over twice as powerful as the one he used.
Below is another gallery of the woodworking weekend.
Saw milling
Preparation for the main races
Peening away
The lister engine and grinding stone also came in handy for those competing in Sundays main races with an English scythe, it was also rather useful for sharpening the knives too. Meanwhile there was a lot of banging noises from the peening tent, some oblivious to the noise they were inflicting on others Mr O’Reilly!!!!!!
Some much needed instruction from Phil
Oooh errrrr looks like Michael has some work to beat this line up!
There were of course the group meetings about which was the best way to mow, the best snath, the best blades and the best way to sharpen the said blades. Others were honing their scythes in readiness for the fossil fuel vs muscle power. This was the first race and unfortunately the scythe came last alas mind you the dirty cheating power hunger strimmer didn’t really cut the grass but skimmed the top of the grass.
Preparation for the main races
Came to watch, we heard you’re in it Dad
Wonder who will win
So with rain threatening we started the five by five races a little earlier, this year I elected to change the rules! The five by five plots would only be open to those in the novice and intermediate class, all others would have to go into the open ten by ten race thereby allowing fresh blood to win the five by five. It worked and there were some new winners and some old but I may need to refine the rules.
So for next year we will do the same except there will be heats for those wishing to go into the open ten by ten race, it will be expected that the best mowers will compete for the six places available in the ten by ten and there will only be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes of which I will now put up some prize money probably £50, £30, £20 as a reward for being the best mowers. Those that fail to gain a ten by ten plot will then have to compete in the five by five. I may need to refine this idea but this will help test the best mowers skill and will give a chance for others to win. Those competing in the ten by ten must peen/sharpen their own blades and you will only be allowed one scythe if it breaks tough luck.
