Hey Ladybugs,

Just checking in. Im going to be outside doing yard work. We have sticker plants in the yard so my goal today is to dig as much as I can stand.

Im uncertain if my interest in gardening counts as a hobby because i havent been successful. Im going to be getting my herbs ready. I have been trying to grow from seed. I can get them to sprout but then they do nothing further. I dont think I have a green thumb but I love to try. My ultimate goal is to have a garden that takes care of my family's needs.

Going to plant some mint, oregano, thyme, 2 different basils, parsley just to start. Im going to buy an aloe plant, it was too much rain last year and it got overwatered.

Thats my goals for today. Try to get my dog to stop trying to eat the weeds I dig up. Try to get my son a little fresh air (he's been sick).

Side note: We saw Kung Fu Panda 4 yesterday because my husband was off. We had a blast. Nice little family outing. The movie was cute. We really enjoyed it. I reccomend, especially if you liked the other 3.

There's something that I've been thinking about regarding my own mental illness and how it interacts with my consumption of weed. The primary reasons why I consume it are to manage chronic pain & PTSD, however for a bit recently I was pretty much out and had to deal with that for a few days and I realized something.

Weed makes a lot of my other miscellaneous issues (paranoia, anxiety, depression, aggression, memory issues, cognitive function issues) either improve or go away. When I am sober, I function like someone who is in the middle of a really bad trip. When I am high, I'm able to function like a normal person.

This got me thinking again about how I was given edibles very frequently as a child, right? I was given them to stay compliant/pass out/not remember/etc. So when you're like 3-7 or whatever, your brain is still growing/developing. Since I was given THC very frequently at that age, I think I'm like... dependent on it?

All throughout middle and high school, I have dealt with severe paranoia, anxiety, depression, etc. I'm not even joking that the past year or so after I started smoking more that I started actually understanding the concept of even having proper emotions. A lot of these issues come back when I'm sober for too long.

I've theorized about this before, but it clicked a bit more recently after I was sober for a bit too long again. Like, I locked myself in the bedroom to hide in the corner because I thought that someone was gonna try and get me in my own home. I was incoherent and freaking the fuck out. Then, I ate an edible and I was fine again.

It made me think more about how I was when I was younger. I was always like that. Barely able to even function. Once that edible kicked in, I was having normal conversations again. Fuck, I went to a doctor's appointment, and it went perfectly smoothly.

I think its a combination of severe PTSD, and the PTSD involving being drugged as a kid. Whatever it is, at least I'm in the process of getting a medical card so its easier to get weed. That's what the doctor's appointment was for. I got a referral for a doctor who works with pain management, so that's good.
