Okay so I wanna talk about the ecosystem of a fandom space like Fable/Bound SMP and those that extend off of it.

So one of the things that kinda stands out to me is that many of the popular ships are just canon. Like… off the top of my head the only two popular ships that aren’t necessarily canon in Fable are Kaleidoscope (Midas x Malitae) and Prison Duo (Centross x Icarus). But even one of those has been hinted at being canon by Sherbert in a few streams so like???

Looking at this from the outside it’s almost worrying. But the thing is, I think it has to do with three different things that are all unique to the Fable/Mer/Bound (and adjacent) fandom(s) and might actually be the sign of a really warm and welcoming community (as the Fable & adjacent fandoms have always been imo).

Firstly, the medium. If these were not lore-heavy, highly improvisational, live-streamed stories the fandom wouldn’t be able to provide feedback and the creators wouldn’t be able to react to said feedback in time to adjust. Think about Hermitcraft, it’s highly improvisational, yes. But lore-wise it’s not super heavy and thus all ships kinda teeter on the edge of being canon or not canon. Likewise smth like Whitepine where it’s recorded beforehand (and I think scripted??) doesn’t give the creators the flexibility to adjust the content in the same way the fandom is moving as quickly as the fandom moves.

Secondly, the fact that the creators interact with the fandom. Hi, hello, I’m living proof of this cause if I hadn’t gotten picked up by Heyhay and Art I never would’ve gotten to become one of said content creators. But this goes far beyond that. This has to do with the fact that they listen and interact and bounce ideas off of their fan base. Even if it doesn’t always feel like it, the opinions and ideas you guys share out here do influence the story, even if it’s just confirmation that you guys are picking up what the creators are laying down. It still serves as a sounding board to see how well things are coming across, and speaking as a creator myself (albeit a newer one) I find it incredibly helpful.

Thirdly, the size. Obviously if this venn-diagram of fandoms was as large as say Hermitcraft or QSMP the content creators simply wouldn’t be able to keep up with the fandom and many ideas would get lost in the jumble. Even just with how large Fable got at it’s peak, there came a point where it was nearly impossible to keep up with the amount of fan art and theories that were being made. So I think this point kinda feeds back into the second, that having a smaller size helps the content creators keep up with the feedback they receive from their art and lead to the fandom having more influence on the story than anyone really realizes.

These three things work together to create a space where people get to feel heard and seen. One of the most enticing things about being a community member for me was having that ability to influence the story, to talk to the characters themselves, to poke them about things I wanted to know the answer to. And when they responded?? It was so cool! I remember I used to keep a tally of little things in the world that I had affected because of messages that had been sent during live chat. It wasn’t ever anything big, but sometimes it’s the little things that count. That’s why, as a creator now I try really hard to interact with community members. I know I’m obviously not one of the big creators in this space, but I still want to help you guys feel seen and heard, because that’s where so much of the magic of being a part of this fandom space comes from imo. And if I can help recreate what helped me fall in love with this fandom space even a little bit, I’ll do what I can.

Anyway, I’m just super grateful to this community and the fellow creators within it. I have been so lucky to be able to get to experience this fandom from both the community member and creator side and honestly it has just been one of the most overwhelmingly positive experiences of my life, from both sides of the spectrum. I know things like that are fickle. I know fandoms and people are always growing and changing and maybe that won’t always be the case. But I just wanted to say I really appreciate the community that has been built here and all the work that goes into keeping it a positive and safe space. So, thank you guys 💕

Slimeriana and QSMP fans, we need to talk (really, I'm going to talk about a few things).

At this point I think majority of you guys know what happened with Mariana yesterday (especially because the fliporiana community is small compared to other ones).

I'm gonna write some stuff Mariana said and I'm gonna be explicit about it because I want you guys to understand the severity of the situation (this is your warning):

Context: He was curious to see if people actually posted nsfw stuff about him (and poor boy, he really thought he wouldn't find any).

And I quote what he said after seeing some posts: "No, no, no! Why's Slime penetrating me?!" (He was probably looking at a fanart)

"I'm not doing role like that with Slime anymore. I thought you guys found it funny (he was talking about the sex role in the QSMP) but it only fills your minds with shit"

"I'm gonna say it in English because I know there's QSMP fans who do it as well: Don't draw hentai about me, don't draw us fucking, that's being a pervert, that's wrong"

Some months ago I wrote a post when we got the first warning in regards of this topic.

Mariana and Slime have talked about fanart before and at the time they didn't seem uncomfortable about it (though it seems like Charlie's girlfriend was).

So I wrote: it's not necessary to stop doing fanart about them. Just be careful with what you draw and where you post it.

To me even "suggestive" fanarts are "okay" (but with suggestive I mean the characters looking at each other like they want to kiss each other so bad, that's it). But when and how did that translate to some of you thinking that drawing real people having sex and not only having sex (because there's always ways to show intercourse without being explicit or disgusting) but also showing private parts is okay?

Because it's obvious Mariana saw something super explicit by the way he reacted (because he doesn't get bothered too easily). My poor man was distressed!

And let me tell you something. This is not only about Mariana and Slimecicle. This is a REAL PROBLEM within the fandom. Let me give you some examples:

I love reading fanfiction and months ago I was scrolling through the QSMP section on AO3 and let me tell you something: the amount of fanfiction written about the eggs and their parents in a non platonic way is CONCERNING.

Especially Wilbur Soot's fandom seems to have a lot of rotten apples who think that writing abusive stories about q! Wilbur and Tallulah is fine.

I understand some people write stories like that not because they're crime apologists, but because that's their way to deal with trauma (and dealing with trauma through art is okay). But PLEASE remember that while the eggs are fictional, their "parents" are REAL people.

Use fictional characters, please. Stop writing real people into pedophilic or highly abusive situations. THAT'S HORRENDOUS.

Another example is the following: Some weeks ago people were reporting a Twitter account and I clicked on the account (I personally don't like reporting people without making sure they deserved) and it took me like three seconds of scrolling to see more than 5 Ccs being disrespected (including Slimecicle, Quackity, Cellbit, Roier and Badboyhalo). Explicit Pictures, videos and fanarts were being posted about these creators.

You know what I think? I think Cellbit made his character asexual not only for the representation (it's clear by now that q! Cellbit is a sex positive asexual which is still representation yay!) But because he has been on the internet since around 2011 and he knows how disrespectful people can be. I think he knew that his and Roier's ship was getting too popular and that makes them both unprotected to shit like this.

Sadly, it's clear that it didn't matter that Cellbit made his character asexual, people can't seem to respect that detail about his character and about himself as a real person.

To some people it doesn't matter if the Cc is ambiguous or completely clear about their boundaries, they still don't give a fuck.

Please remember that behind each character is a real person. I understand sometimes you guys want to see your favorite characters fuck -me too, honestly- but for people like streamers that's out of the questions because not only they're real people, but because their work is related to social media and the possibilities of them finding EVERYTHING we write and post about them are super high.

I don't know how to feel. It's obvious that Mariana has not been feeling the same about the server since Juanaflippa died. Maybe this will make him feel even worse about the QSMP but I hope I'm wrong.

They are the trio ever. they are the only ones who understand what each other went through and now they live as a family together in a house with their adopted son. they are all traumatized to hell and back but they are learning to live again <3

I have been thinking about this trio since the end of 2020, and have not stopped since. Me and my friends have actively made our Discord pfps them since mid 2021 and litterally just changed it for the first time to a trio that's not them since. I physically can't make an au without them if one of them is in it. Their dynamic still hits me like a baseball bat everytime I think about them despite the three of them not making an appearance together in a video/stream in so long. The emotions I felt through the DSMP role play about these three will haunt me for the rest of my life. Legit reading a fic about the three helped me find the right prounous for me. That's right THEY GENDERED ME. HELP

Drama Trio:

They are the Silliest!!! They constantly tease each other but they always have each others backs when they need to. They're each others best friends and family and they will Die if they don't annoy each other every second they are together. Baghera and Forever are siblings, Bad and Forever have some kind of Weird Queerplatonic Kind Of Romantic Thing going on, Baghera and Bad understand each other and Baghera is able to tell when Bad is feeling bad even though he Never directly tells her anything. They mean So much to me!!

I am just going to put this at the top : this post is going to be a long vent about missing Technoblade, please scroll on if you do not wish to read.

We are coming up on two years without him.

We are also coming up on three years since I discovered his content.

I thought I was at the point I could watch one of his videos tonight, as I used to often do when I am doing tasks or writing he was always the background noise I used. I remember calling into work when he streamed for the sheer sake of enjoying them while they happened the few times I caught them before...well. I think you know. He was the reason my passion for writing came back to life and I believed I could actually follow my lifelong dream of eventually publishing a story.

But I suppose the part I always forget about grief is the absence of the unique spirit that person brought to your life. I found his content and engaged with it instantly, developing one of the longest running fixations I have had in a good while. The sheer excitement I'd have getting the notification he went live for one of his rare streams.

I don't think it truly sunk in when he announced his diagnosis. I remember discussing it with the irl friend who got me into watching him and both of us laughed, saying he's strong enough to fight off anything.

A few months pass with his rare posts and there was always this tiny little bit of intuition I had where he never told us what severity of cancer it was. Like he was a very private guy, yes, but this seemed extra...odd.

Then I remember the way my heart sunk when 'so long nerds' popped into my notification bar. The dashing of my heart against the floor texting people as I tearfully listened to Technodad tell us the words his son Alex wished for us to hear.

Its been a long two years. Its been great ones, tbh. I found a new passion with QSMP and Hermitcraft after the finishing of DSMP [tho c!Techno will forever remain close to my heart]. I kept writing, with over half a million words in published fics on ao3 and several WIP including 3 original novels.

But the only one I ever wanted to thank for helping me find my creativity again I can't, and I never will be able to.

I miss Technoblade.

I will never stop missing him.

I wish he could have laughed with his friends for many years yet, being silently proud of their accomplishments while he messed with people on the QSMP. I wish he could have had another MCC with friends.

I wish his unique soul wasn't taken from us so soon, as we weren't done following our hero yet.

But the only thing I can do now is continue to speak his tales. The first book I properly publish, the gratitude page is going to be addressed to him. I will continue to tell others about his accomplishments and tell them to go watch his content on his Youtube channel [get him to 17 million!]! Buy some of his merch [when it comes back in stock]! Support his family & friends!

Though he would call us nerds for crying, I think its beautiful how many lives he touched and how many thousands mourned his passing. He was a light all corners of the MCYT sphere and beyond saw and respected, and not too many creators can claim such an honour.

I'll always be a Voice at my core. Even if I spend my time these days as a crow, a huevito, a ferret, a tubling, a doozer and many more, my heart will forever belong to Technoblade.

Please keep creating art and writing in his name. I love scrolling the fanart tags and adore every piece I come across with my favourite piglin in them. Please, please, please keep saying his name. Sing his legends. Make references, continue the jokes, hang out in one of his friends chats and support the people he loved.

Support those who are still here, even if your heart hurts.

It's only painful because we all loved him so much, which is a beautiful type of sorrow.

Right today made my brain start thinking about demon lore so I did some research:

- BBH has hinted at being a fallen angel and is now a demon/grim reaper and while not ashamed, is secretive about it

- Tina basically confirmed she's a fallen angel or at least wasn't always a demon today and she is heavily ashamed of it and her "past of sin"

- Mouse is very comfortable and considers herself a natural demon with the Nether as her home (specifically Puerto Rico, canonically in hell)

And Mouse today said that natural demons aren't evil because that's just who they are while those turned demon are evil. And Tina basically implied that that was why she wasn't open about her identity because even other demons have those beliefs so how can she trust humans to not think of her like that.

However, cc!Mouse as a vtuber has demon lore that states she has an angelic form and the qsmp wiki states that shes a fallen angel of sorts (had a disagreement with god and was cast out) so if they are intertwined in some way:

1. We know more about Mouse Demon lore

And 2. All three of them are fallen angels (fell at different times: Bad the eldest, Mouse middle and Tina youngest)

So I think what Mouse means is that 'natural' demons also include fallen angels, since demons and angels are two sides of the same coin, and are just who they are, not inherently evil, but those that turn demon, like what happens when you get infected by black concrete, are evil. But because she has never explained about her potentially being a fallen angel and (while Tina does refer to the Nether as 'home') Tina doesn't think of herself as a natural demon like Mouse, there is a miscommunication and it's putting her into an even deeper well of internalised hate because even other demons would think of her as evil if they knew the truth of her past.

Also after today definitely it means that Tina is either lying about how much she knows of her past (which wouldn't be too much of a reach because she's hiding a major part of her identity that would be kind of hard to ignore) or they couldn't wipe the memories of the distant past so she remembers falling.

Today was a lot and I feel like I'm missing stuff but also it's 6am so I should sleep before this consumes my every waking thought.

I know we're in the middle of Mike lore, but I've watched Fuga Impossível (once without captions, and I've been watching it again with auto generated captions), and since I've only gotten a grasp on like, 20% of what's going on, I was wondering what sort of character nuances I was missing due to the language barrier because I actually really like what I've seen and want to know more about their characters (both the ones who are in QSMP, and the ones who aren't). (I won't be offended if you don't answer this, it's kinda a lot to ask)

So, I think a really important point is that Pac e Mike backstabbed each other but are fine about it. Pac got really into Cell when they first met because of the helping hand Cell offered, and the money. Cell calls both of them darlings. Mike never was too cool with trusting Cell

Pac often puts himself as the meek one, while Mike is the aggressive one. When JV appeared, Mike liked him better and trusted him a lot. JV had already tried to escape 3 times and Pac e Mike saw him getting captured again after the 4th try, and promised to them the 5th would be together

JV and Cell don't like each other (Exes <3) and JV always is loud on his disliking on Cell. Cell tells the boys JV isn't someone good to be trusted

Now, trust. It's a word that had a LOT of meaning to Cell. He is actually a very lonely person. His cellphone was a lie all this time, he doesn't has friends, only people that fear him. He saw on Pac e Mike as a new chance to make friends and have people to trust, which explains the breakdown he had when he found out they had betrayed him TWICE

JV is very smart, but also lonely in his plans. This loneliness causes his failures. He saw Pac e Mike as family, and they saw him as family as well. His death deeply shook him, specially the fact that he knew this would happen, and even after death guided him to Guaxinim

Guaxinim also hates Cell. Something funny is that Guaxi is actually the only one that can make Cell shut up only with words. They have some sexual tension going on. He was like a muzzle on Cell. Guaxi and the boys pick up JV's backup plan, and this betrayal sent Cell on a rampage where he killed Felps and also half of the inmates of his cell block. In the chaos, he managed to catch on the other three to escape

The raft wasn't built for 4 ppl, only 3 max. So they stop at a small isle to choose who'll be left behind. Cell still has a soft spot for Pac, which means his betrayal cut even deeper, so he gave Mike a knife to stab Pac, and then started making Pac's mind that the others were planning to kill him. Pac almost actually believed him, but he talked with the others and calmed down

When Guaxinim's trap worked, Cell's first call was for Pac to save him, and Pac laughed at his face before the others joined him. They gave him the gun to kill himself and then dipped

It’s so cute how Empanada uses different version of mom for most of her mothers according to their nationalities

She has her Mamae Bagi, Mama Mouse, Mom Nikki, and now her Eomma Tina

I wonder how she will call Jaiden? Maybe Mami? Empanada is so cute I’m actually sad that I don’t get to watch much of qsmp anymore to catch up on current evens and the new eggs. So far I love how different each egg’s personalities from all the clips I’ve see so far. Empanada is such a sweetheart in a way that’s different from tallulah and pomme. Tallulah is the sweet but sassy and angsty type. Pomme is a looks sweet but ferocious, cinnamon roll but will kill you type. Empanada is just the innocent sweetie from what I’ve seen so far but with a frying pan. Just like Rapunzel lol. Very energetic and lively with her moms but shy and introverted with other people.

I have yet to see people complain about these three eggs for having similar personalities but I often see people defending them specially empanada because apparently she’s been getting hate for having a similar personality as tallulah and pomme. Tallulah and Pomme for me have very distinctly different personalities as they are then people say empanada is also similar? Tbh I don’t see it. If I were to say, I think empanada seems more similar to Tallulah but very different to Pomme but even then I guess as a Phil pov main, I still see very distinctly different sets of personalities between them with just very few but prominent characteristics that overlap. Tallulah is a sweet girl but will fight for what she thinks she deserves. She will speak up her mind if something bothers her. Empanada is a bit more reserved with other people. Not to mention Pomme, in my pov Pomme is very different from the two. For one I feel like Pomme is much more similar to Chayanne in terms of personality than Tallulah for their innate desire to protect the ones they love and the guilt they feel when they feel like they’ve failed to do that.

I’ve also seen a debate between Leo and Sunny but I also see a difference between them as well. Maybe I’ll explain in another post

Quiiiiick (lying) analysis on a little theory I have about the 'species' (ig?) seen in QSMP

so on Quesadilla Island, we see two major sentient peoples. We have the census bureaus (CBs), of which we know Cucurucho, Osito, and the pink ears one, tho there may be more. There's also the faceless people, who I'll call Workers for simplicity tho they seem to encompass all residents of the island who aren't the players, not just fed staff.

The CBs may potentially have once been Workers, since they appear very similar, or indeed may have just been crafted to look like them. It's hard to say exactly what they are biologically, they may be robotic or not, too much to bother breaking down here but in summary it's not clear.

Conversely, Workers seem to be biological. They don't have the powers (flight, invis, etc). They eat and drink regularly, chat amongst themselves, get paid for their work, and importantly as we see from Walter Bob, can have families and children. They also seem to generally be free-thinking. They are as diverse as players personality-wise, but visually all look the same with a blank face, and communicating through books.

Fit's contractor also resembles a Worker.

Now onto the INTERESTING part, on Egg Island, we see three new 'creatures'.

We have the Watcher, who is a plain black entity with a single eye, twice the height of normal players. (I could go into the mythology significance here but I'm trying to keep this short lol). We have the Eye Worker, and we have the Little Buddies (LBs).

The eye worker is most likely to be a regular worker who defected to the Watcher's side. We know that Egg Island was once owned by the feds, and whilst we don't know the details, it's likely there were Workers on the island that remained when the Fed left. (alternatively, this could be the Worker that boated to the island, but that's less likely, we do see them dead and this eye worker has no black corruption.)

The ONLY visual differences we see between Workers beyond their clothes are player-created ones (Walter Bob's haircut), yet this Worker has a clear biological difference in that it has an eye. There's two potential routes from this: we can make a slightly jumping assumption that somehow, working with the Watcher gave it this eye - either a surgical change (it does have advanced equipment, tho there's no surgical implications) or a natural change a la the black corruption, something that just Happened to this guy because it works with the Watcher.

Alternatively, ALL the workers who lived on Egg Island could look like that, and they just have a general biological difference to Quesadilla Workers.

Where am I going with this - well. The LBs GREATLY resemble Workers, just small with eyes. We know Walter Bob at least had/has a child, and likely other Workers had children too.

People theorised that the LBs were the equivalent of Eggs, but I want to suggest - what if they are the children of Workers? Either the children of workers on Egg Island, or ones from Quesadilla that ended up there somehow? We know the rebels were trying to boat ppl off the island, and Egg Island is clearly not that far from Quesadilla. If the Watcher can make ppl have eyes, it would track that they could also have gained eyes. And they're not working for the Watcher as far as we see, and do act like little kids.

I'm not even going to start on Cucurojo or whatever we're calling it now, I don't even know what's going on there lmao but it does seem to be a similar entity.

En fin, this is just rambling speculation. But please guys, can we make it cool to like MCYT, so I can make a QSMP theory video on PT without my audience trying to kill me for it---

QSMP The fated cursed team?

Alright, so it’s my time on the microphone I guess.

Without going deep into the reason why (since it’s not the focus), I have a love/hate relationship with Purgatory. It’s an incredible feat for the Admins with all the details in it as well as the events planning, we get to see new sides of the characters, but I hate competition games (when the win is crucial) and how CCs from every team had their “I genuinely am having a very frustrating and not nice time” for various reasons.

This in mind, I’ve been following the “WHO IS CURSED?” question from the start like almost everyone… But with a different viewpoint. See, I’m someone who does a lot of LARPs and Tabletop RPGs, I’ve been animator and dungeon master (I DM once each week right now) so I know well the “Let’s make a plan and see how the players work inside of it” I didn’t really plan on yeeting a big speech on Tumblr, but I’ve seen a lot of people take hypotheses as facts and got surprised. So let me break things up a little.

The base of a goal.

When you’re making an event/a game/a RPG with a “Someone is cursed”, there are some things you cannot do. Now, the events were planned and, therefore, they planned on the number of teams to go from 3 to 2 from the start. This cannot sustain a “One team is cursed” from the start. Why? Because you have no clue who will win and who will lose. Before the egg event, one could have said “Soulfire will lose because they have put little time on their base compared to the other teams.” You could have said “Bolas will lose because they aren’t the best PVPer and have less gear.” You could have said “Green Gay Ninjas will lose because Red and Blue will ally against them.” Heck, you could have said “No one will lose, they’re going to try to tie.” (All of those before the event even started) Anything could have happened. I, for one, did not expect for Red to win at the beginning of the day. And yet they did.

Ok, let’s back up now.

If a team was chosen as cursed from the start, the admins had at least three ways of making sure the event would last past the egg event.

Make the cursed team with strong-ass players so they had no chance to lose. (Uncertain technique, would be way more visible than what we had/have)

Make the cursed team with every single nerf you can so they’re so obviously cursed that the other teams make sure they stay alive. (A very sad idea, everyone would just already know who needed to win or maybe kill them thinking it was a red herring, again, no one truly fit that 100%)

One person is cursed and they aren’t “cursing” their team until it’s a 1v1 (and not a 1v1v1) (That’s the one that would work the most if the cursed team had been chosen from the start)

Herding cats

Now, as a DM, I’ve herded cats for years now, and here’s what I learned. If you want a precise outcome to your game, you will have to use the three doors trick. Basically, you put your players in front of a choice of doors and whichever door they choose will lead to the room you wanted them to see next. It makes no sense to shoot yourself in the foot and leave the direction of your story entirely to your players if you know it needs to end in X number of games with a specific scene. This doesn’t mean there couldn’t be a cursed team right now, but with all they set up (the nuke, the ‘If they die everyone dies’, etc.) my DM brain is telling me that the cursed team will be chosen narratively at the end while giving meat to the bones of hints we got.

So, one of the most looked at things for the hints were the eggs messages. Let’s break those down quickly. I do not believe one can say “MESSAGES ARE CLUE” without taking ALL OF THEM as a clue.

“No matter what… Protect Tallulah.” Now, this message, like all others, can be read multiple ways. The first one could be about the only Tallulah we actually saw on the island (well, part of her likeness at least), the statue. This one was Red’s statue. So one could say that Red need to win, aka, they are the cursed team. But, you can also read it as “Tallulah will show up later on and she needs to be protected first and foremost.”*

“Nothing is off the table, run over whoever you need to win.” Well, this one, yes, also has more than one possible meaning. The first and most obvious would be “BBH and his team needs to win at all cost.” would fit, would make sense. But it could also be read as “The final choice will be hard, you need to make sure all the residents need to win.” All is a question of point of view. None of these ways to read it are wrong, which, I think, is the point.*

“Dads you won't believe it, it isn't fireflies on the sky run and don't stop” (translated message) This is the most hazy of them all. What vibe this one gives me is - especially since there are some of Richas’ parents in every team - about a future moment. Maybe a final event on the 18th. Another way to read it could be a warning about mobs. It seems less likely, but some mobs in Purgatory turn invisible after someone hits them, leaving only two white dots as eyes. This one is a stretch but my back needs it.*

One message (chayanne) reads more as a Red Team is Cursed. One message (Dapper) reads more as Blue Team is Cursed. * But you know how else you can read any of these three egg messages? Very cool one liners to bring up the hype about an upcoming event. (but they’re cooler as clues)

The wheel

The wheel is very much uncertain for me, mostly because I don’t think Tubbo was even meant to roll it. At least, definitely not when he did. He glitched through barrier blocks to reach it and then lava was dropped in a “Player get the heck out goddamnit you know you weren’t supposed to be there” way. (As a DM, I know that vibe. No, bard, you cannot SEDUCE MY GODDAMN DRAGON) Now, was he supposed to later? Maybe, I don’t know, but basing a lot of things on that, especially while ignoring that Slime (Red) and Roier (Green) were also there and could have been the ones rolling it doesn’t seem like a fair assessment.

The tickets.

So there’s another thing that is wild to me. They used the tickets to join purgatory, and only Red had the fancy ones. I would have said “Oh well it’s part of the bit to have slime on Charlie’s or feathers on Phil’s”, but the sparkles on Vegetta and the cat on Wil’s seem to pass way more of a message. Now, the one person who wasn’t in Red with a fancy ticket isn’t even in Purgatory Aka Quackity. ElQuackity wasn’t on the train with the rest, he appeared there, but also, it’s canon that he definitely isn’t Quackity and wants the eggs dead. I must say, the tickets seem like the most palpable clue we have linked to Purgatory but I do not know if it means they are or aren’t the cursed team. That could go either way.

Of course I was going to mention Tubbo so here it is.

In Escape Rooms, Tubbo would be what we call a wild card. It’s someone who grabs the information and tries to make all the possible links between everything. Those people are very useful when others are stuck trying to follow narrow logic or trying to give more difficulty to a riddle than what it needs. It’s an extremely important job since they can make the intrigue suddenly make sense. The thing, though, is that 80% of what a wild card says is in the array of “I’ve connected the dots” “You didn’t connect shit” “I connected them”. They will make sense of things that aren’t supported enough to be certain. Purgatory doesn’t help with both team’s heavy biases towards themselves, which they both have. Tubbo said a lot of stuff and made them make sense one way. But he also ignored the others (understandably, again, everyone biased) and ignored parts of clues he had access to. The man cooked, but it doesn’t mean that the meal is consumable yet.

Then, what?

Bottom line, no one gave us any clue of what could be a sign of a cursed team. We do not know what to even look for. What does a cursed team look like? What hint is for the curse and what is for something else? Everyone, watchers and CCs, are grasping at things, hoping it’s the right one. In my humble opinion, I think that there are hints, but they are versatile enough that the eye guy could choose any team and announce it as the cursed one at the end, bringing up some hints in link to that team and backing them up with new Lore so it becomes “obvious”. This would be my DM way at least. It would give the hazy hints meaning on any possible team when the time is right. Make the people believe hints were there for the final answer all along and not notice that there were just as many hints going the other way.

TL:DR; There is no clear definition yet about what is a cursed team other than what happens if they die. Many hints we have are uncertain and fit more than one team. The DnD Dungeon Master way that the admins seem to follow so everyone has fun might only choose a cursed team upon the last day so Lore can happen in the most narrative way possible. It would avoid any randomness players bring.

So. I NEED TO TALK ABOUT Q!QUACKITY RIGHT NOW. 

I’ll try my best to stay in order but my brain goes all over the place. So, It really seems that quackity was confined in water for like 3 months. But I really think some things have happened to him because of how he is behaving. 

He sounds sickly, he seems lost, confused, maybe even a bit scared (we’ll get to that). I am trying to think about if he didn’t want to follow Cucurucho. 

The stuff with Cucurcho. It was making him do some tests of some sorts? It made him go on a treadmill that he was practically begging to not have to do. He seems really physically weak, but it may be something else as well. It made him press buttons on the corresponding color, not sure what that is about. Then it showed him the pictures.

The duck appeared, and he freaked out, and huddled over in the corner. Why? What happened to him to make him so scared of the duck? This is why I think maybe there was a point where he was not in the water. But we need to know more I think.

The final test is interesting. Cucurucho made him paint what he saw on some ink blot images. During this, it handed him a picture of the duck, to which he responded by once again becoming fearful. This is the thing that really interests me about all of this.

And then Quackity made it out. This is where things get weird. It seems the only thing Quackity is able to type is “when is the party” or “what time is it” things like that. Everything else is illegible when he types it. This is fascinating to me. I have seen people theorize he possibly has aphasia, and looking into it I agree. 

I am glad the three (baghera, forever, and bbh) are concerned for his well being. I especially like baghera here. She said “I dont think you should be alone” he said “why” and she responded, “you’ve been alone for a while”. Baghera you’re amazing

Also, he was only speaking in Spanish the whole time, but that could be just because it was a spanish stream. We’ll see.

He burned all of his stuff in lava, and then just… started playing minecraft? (right after hitting a bucket clutch without thinking. how.) He went into a village and just started getting basic resources. Why? And then he just logged out? 

Another thing is the tweets about him from official qsmp accounts have been using a chess piece emoji. This is intentional 100%. 

So overall I just really, really want to know what the fuck happened to this man, and if he really remembers nothing. What did that little duck do to him.

sigh one thing ive been thinking is that it feels a bit unfair to see so many people complaining or doomposting over how purgatory affects the overarching qsmp rp story or how it ~interrupted arcs~ or is ~disturbing current storylines~ or ~narratively unsatisfying~ like. Sure. its a bit abrupt and most players were caught off guard because lore-wise it stems from the federation which means none of them were told about anything beforehand

but... its only been three days. maybe we could have a little faith? like idk ill be soooooo out there rn and say that maybe the admins did this now for a reason. maybe itll make sense later on. we already see lore repercussions with elquackity and his motives and all the nods to the eggs.

theres fair criticism to be made (when done respectfully) if youre mainly here for the roleplay but i feel like we sometimes need to remind ourselves that the qsmp storytelling is a VERY ambitious project. lmao. imagine being the writing team and trying to wrangle 20+ characters with distinct points of view and journeys on an ever-changing story because of the very nature of live rp. its practically IMPOSSIBLE to tie up every loose end neatly and at this point i dont think we should expect that. keeping up momentum with all plotlines must also be pretty hard, cc's schedules and outside factors like server programming and building and mod tweaking and all those meta elements considered and so on and so on

i DO also want the story to move forward and be cohesive and make sense in a satisfactory way. like i really do!!!!!!! but i try to understand that thats not ALL the qsmp is about. from the start quackity said the server wouldn't be exclusive to the rp aspect. it sure is that way right now, but thats because most of the active members are VERY passionate about roleplaying. thats a good thing! they have fun and its fun to watch and the experience is mostly good for everyone because it corresponds to their expectations to an extent

the thing about purgatory is that i feel like its a lot more meta than most people doomposting realize. it ties into the story, sure, but to me it feels like the sudden switch in environment and vibes and stakes isnt actually catered to the rp and thats FINE. like thats not what it exists for and thats fineeeeeee

pac for one has said he appreciates the event for the change of pace, though its very hard (lol), because regular qsmp was starting to feel a bit stale to him and he was kind of running out of things to do. THATS A GREAT THING! managing player engagement like that is awesome and sometimes necessary. YES, purgatory caters to a very different playstyle than what we're used to -- and thats one of its strenghts.

a lot of hispanic creators have also felt this!!!! roier, rivers and carre most prominently have been VERY excited about this event because its similar in format to a lot of spanish speaking events like mc extremo and such. a lot of these players are also not particularly interested in rp-ing and had not been logging on very often prior to purgatory.

even roleplay regulars like tubbo, fit and bbh have shown interest in purgatory for the competitive nature of the setting!!! thats cool too!!!! something different, new possibilities to play around with. thats what the events should be about. kudos to the admins and dev teams for attempting it in such a big scale. their effort shows and all the mechanics weve seen are really fucking cool

i love the roleplay!!!!!! its one of my favorite parts of the qsmp!!!!!! but its not ALL there is and it shouldnt be! non rp-oriented creators are also part of the project and deserve to have a little fun too -- not to mention a big chunk of the hispanic fan community that has blown up twitter with support bc what we have rn is similar to events they already love!!!!!!! im glad to see so many of them get excited again!!!!!!

at the end of the day, qsmp is a LONG long term project, and purgatory ends in two weeks. by the time its over, we can all choose to engage with it as we wish. it can be a big filler episode in your mind, if you want. it can be just for fun..... otherwise, if its not fun, your regularly scheduled qsmp will be back soon anyway :3 its fine to not like it, its fine to have something negative to say about it if properly tagged and not like. crazy entitled or blown out of proportion for what this situation is.

i just hope we can all manage our online experiences accordingly and avoid making things less enjoyable for each other. this is supposed to be fun

1. Along Came a Spider

If you aren't reading this one, you're wrong because it's super good? Basically, Roier gets bit by a radioactive spider, Quackity is I think Norman Osborn, and Cellbit is a Very Normal Person who definitely isn't a literal cat burglar. It's super well written, all the characters are fun, there's a lot of intrigue going on, and the fandom needs more superhero aus, and what better character to use than the literal Spider-Man?

2. Divided Soul

I think everyone's been keeping up with this one, but I still recommend it!! It's some cool high fantasy shit starring Vegetta as a prince being haunted by his ex boyfriend (/pos) and Foolish as the Literal Most Traumatized Man On Earth. If you like angst and hurt/comfort, this is the one for you.

3. eternally, forever.

Another Fooligetta fic, this one's another popular one, but for good reason! It's heartbreaking in the amount of love you can feel coming off of Foolish the entire time, and then? Yeah. Read it, it's definitely worth it.

4. The Reason (English version linked here, but definitely check out the Portuguese or Spanish ones if that language works better for you!!

Where do I even begin. F!Cell never escaped from prison, and he is making it everybody's problem, including the new guy on the (cell) block, Roier, who is definitely supposed to be there. Definitely. This one's darker so only check it out if you're into like. Dark shit. But also it's super good, so yeah!!

5. partners (in crime)

This one is an Ordem Paranormal au and it's only one chapter rn but I think there will be more? Unsure! But, as it is, it's cute! I don't know a ton about OP, but Cellbit gets teased, and everyone is cute, and I hope there's more because I'm already invested. It is in Portuguese, but translating it is so worth it.

6. Red Gunpowder

This one's a newer one, only one chapter so far, but I'm super into it already I think? Basically, Cellbit is a Traumatized Cop and Roier is... not in the fic yet, but he sounds fun just from the description. The first chapter was pretty cool, and I can't wait to see where it goes!

7. Icarus is Flying Too Close to the Sun & This is How It Feels to Take a Fall (series linked)

Two fics in one bullet point because they're both just that good! All three of Bobby's parents try and get Bobby back, and it's super heartfelt and I felt Emotions and it's sweet :( Definitely read it!

8. your palms; a home for my soul

This one is so SWEET!! Basically, Roier's heart is broken, and he goes to a heart fixer to... fix it. (It's magic, don't question it.) It's a twoshot, but it's sooooo cute, the metaphor is INSANE and I went AAAA

9. Breaking Dawn

So this one's pretty popular as well, but it's for good reason! Basically, Cellbit is a wannabe paranormal investigator and Roier is a werewolf. I think it was supposed to just be a romcom from the author's description, but there's so much more? There's this whole sideplot with Felps being kidnapped and Roier being real shady about everything and Cellbit being the densest man on the planet, and it's super worth a read if you've got a couple hours to spare!

10. The Red Means I Love You!!

Okay so you know me by now, you know I love fucked up little guys finding love, and this one sure does have a fucked up little guy! Basically, q!Cellbit accidentally summons c!Roier to possess his husband when he was trying to summon Romero Richas to interrogate it, and things sure do happen. The characterization is killer, and so is c!Roier, who is so desperate for love that he'd kill for it. (Unfortunately for him, he's kinda met his match in the form of someone who'd kill to get his love back.)

11. Bad Romance

This is the direct sequel to the last fic, and normally I'm not too into that? But this one's worth it imo. Picking up after the end of the last fic, c!Roier breaks f!Cell out of prison and f!Cell definitely doesn't manipulate Roier into agreeing to help him murder Pac e Mike over them leaving him behind in prison. I'm not too into toxic relationships, but I have hope for these two tbh, who else could love them but each other?

The Federation Children:

I would love if the QSMP admins connected the lore of the island's cubite residents to each other, especially q!Jaiden, q!Baghera, q!Quackitiy, and q!Cellbit. And I would love it so much that I even have a headcanon in mind :D

Well, let's review the lore of our cubite, who is stuck in Purgatory and suicidal, shall we? q!Cellbit doesn't remember much. Apparently his memory was erased, as the first memory he has is from the age of 12/14, when he was in the Hunger Games and had to eat bodies if he wanted to survive. A child who ended up in an arena and had to do everything to stay alive, seeing himself as a monster. So, after escaping from the prison from which he was sentenced after the war, he ended up in Quesadilha, already close to his thirties, he sought to redeem himself, but not only that, he sought to know what it was to truly live. And he found his own life in a family, q!Tazercraft, q!Felps, Richarlyson and, of course, his husband q!Roier, who showed him countless times that he was more than an investigator and was not a monster. q!Roier showed what love was, what it was to want the good of another person and who he was.

That is, until he discovered that the Federation was not only causing his life now, no, q!Cellbit discovered that his entire life could be different if it hadn't been for the organization that kidnapped him as a child and separated him from his biological family and his twin sister. As a result, revisiting memories, being overcome by trauma, tiredness and anger, he couldn't take it and succumbed to emptiness and despair. Now, after seeing what he thought was the death of his own son, q!Cellbit tried to kill himself in Purgatory, separating himself from those he loved who were left, trying to spare them and thinking that he only did them harm - that he it was bad for q!Roier (which we know is not true).

Now, let's move on to the lore of the other cubes.

What made the Federation arrest and take q!Cellbit was that he saw something he shouldn't have. Something so terrible that he wrote in his diary that q!Bagi, his sister, should run away and not trust anyone. Something so scary that a child tried to escape the island, even if it was by swimming.

Well, I think there is a possibility that at this point, we connect his story with that of the other three.

In the lore of q!Baghera, she discovered that she was an experiment by the Federation, being transformed or made to be a hybrid and even having her feathers plucked out in the tests that the organization carried out.

We also know that both q!Quackity and q!Jaiden have a connection to the Federation. Q!Quackity having a twin brother he was unaware of who personally plays the Federation's game, doing missions and filling in for his brother when necessary to accomplish what they want.

And q!Jaiden who talked amicably with Cucurucho countless times and has the specific nickname of Blue Bird, even having wings, like q!Baghera's.

(I would like to analyze more, but unfortunately I don't watch the three of them that much. I really apologize for that, because I love the rp of the three and their respective stories - if you want to analyze and connect them better, feel free! I would love to read it!)

However, I believe it is possible to think of little q!Cellbit, as a child, playing research while watching children from a distance, in the backyards of the Federation - a place his parents banned him from going.

So, alone and wanting to make friends besides his sister, he enters the building and sees q!Baghera being hurt. He sees q!Quacks taking tests and, upon failing, being taken to a pool to drown, as punishment. And q!Jaiden doing everything perfectly and receiving sweets that make her "happy" but unaware of where she is.

And approaching the glass, he meets the gaze of q!Baghera, who asks for help as she bleeds and, desperate, he just runs away, without noticing the security cameras that have always been watching him.

It's good to remember that Cucurucho always makes excuses for q!Cellbit and is currently and never seems to believe his confessions as a traitor to the Federation. It does missions personally for him. And as a child, q!Cellbit taught his sister about codes and messages, riddles and puzzles...

What if, the Federation used this moment as a chance to have another test subject? What if from the moment he returned to the island, being stronger, more dangerous and intelligent, the Federation just became happier? And if the "perfection" that the Federation seeks so much is in the cubits of Quesadilha Island and that's why it wants it, it fights for them to follow the Order, for them to follow what makes the organization happy? Because it's good to remember, Cucurucho's mission, at the beginning of the series, was always to make the island "happy", but the bear already said that it's not exactly for the island's residents to be happy, but his mission is for the Federation.

The happiness that is important to him does not come from them, but from the rules, from perfection, from the guinea pigs.

So. Here we are. December 24th, wowza.

Honestly, Imma just start out by saying thank you. Thank you to all the people who followed, or liked my work or reblogged, or even just saw it in passing and kept on scrolling. Thank you to anyone who saw any of my friend's work, or even just existed in the mcyt community. Y’all are my inspirations, and I don’t think I would be where I’m at right now without the incredible support I’ve gotten this past year, especially from my friends over on the Desert Life SMP <3

I wasn’t really sure if I actually wanted to post this over here originally. The art I tend to post are the pieces I’m the most proud of. I don’t like posting sketches or unfinished pieces because they feel messy, or like I didn’t try hard enough. But I also think it’s a valuable thing to show progress, and show where you came from as an artist, as short a timeline as 1 year might be.

Funnily enough, when 2024 first hit, I was the least involved in the mcyt community that I’d been since 2020. I hadn’t really watched Secret Life, I was sort of scooting away from the QSMP, and I was barely paying attention to Hermitcraft (dark times, I know). So what was I up to early 2024 in my art journey? Well, I was finishing up my first Outerwilds animatic (which, as of yesterday, just crossed 4k views WHAT THE FU-). It’s strange, because I remember when working on it, I made the choice not to show the main, player, characters face til the very end, which one may classify as stylistic, but nonono, I just really hated drawing humanoids lmao.

When I finally put that animatic to bed, I wanted to pick up a new project, and for some weird reason, even though I wasn’t really even paying attention to the mcyt community at that time, I drafted up a Life Series Winners animatic. And that’s basically the only thing I worked on, February, March, and April. Looking back on all that now, I’m still really proud of what I set out to make. At the time, I know how happy I was with that style, and how excited I’d been when I first figured out how to tween and started attempting a bit of animation. That animatic got me a place on my first MAP, where I met so many wonderful people, many of which are such large parts of my life now. And after that, the year just took off.

throughout June and July, I participated in Art Fight for the first time, and was exposed to so many incredible artists. I went back to using line art, relearned how to shade and utilize color. August hit, and I was convinced to jump on Tumblr. Was that a good decision? Um. Well it certainly fueled the Desert Duo brainrot I’ll tell ya that. In all truth tho, having the ability to show my work to the wider community was something I didn’t really have up until that point, and seeing how excited people were about Wild Life or other mcyt goings-ons was such a cool experience.

If someone walked up to January 2024 Elkin, and showed her the last three months of work I’ve done, I don’t think in her wildest dreams they would ever think it was them who was going to make it. I’m honestly so proud of where I’m at with my art right now, and how far I’ve come over just this past year. Whether it’s through colors, anatomy, composition, effects, I’ve learned so much from so many wonderful people, and I can’t thank them enough for being such large inspirations.

OP! You ain't have to put me in my feels on the significance of Bads presence/absence. It's so scary! But that's why I love and appreciate his qsmp addition and care for the eggs. Let's be real honest. If Bad did not do what he does.. we would have more than four eggs dead and gone. Fight me on that if feeling frogy. Hah.

We literally almost lost Pepito last night. Phil and Bagi resorted to OG methods of finding him,(the map, which is unreliable) they did not know what to do during vital seconds before death. They were stuck. Okay? That's scary. No other parent is really thinking of those things, especially now, new server and busy schedules. Bad mentioned to qphilza that he should set up the pearl chamber for chay and lullah and he kinda brushed it like nah.. its all good. Mmkah sir.

Bold take but I'll say it: Every creator wants or enjoys the EGGs presence but not all are actually willing or able to care for said egg/s. (Still waiting and in hope for the 2 life system to be a thing of the past because it gets stressful.) In real life it take a lot to care for child and its no different on qsmp.

It take the village and when events come up in real life(vacations/conferences etc) it gets scary on the server.

It was awesome for em sunny and pepito to get a bday party and as much i love seeing all the little egg beans bounce around and thrive.. with only three adults? - My mind: PLEASE!! I'm so glad we don't have an active enemy yet..

I could go on but im not going to right now. Pfft. I'll be nice. Watching bads streams of the eggs pov have given a new light.
