Summary: Once upon a time, in a kingdom far away from here, lived a sweet and beautiful princess. One day, she saved the life of one of the sworn enemies of her people, a young mermaid with mesmerizing green eyes. How could she have known that this fortuitous encounter would change both their lives forever?
***
Chapter 1: Once Upon A Time
Once upon a time, on an island far away from here, lived a kind king and queen. No one could remember how and when their people had settled there. Yet, they had. And after several generations, the kingdom of Arkadia was thriving.
Eight years before, Queen Abigail had given birth to a beautiful little girl. With flaxen hair and eyes bluer than the sea, the princess was her parents’ pride and joy. The kindness of her heart was unmatched, and the happy child was loved by all who had met her.
After years of unsuccessful attempts, the queen was, at last, pregnant once more. Princess Clarke could hardly contain her excitement at the thought that she would soon be a big sister. All in all, life was good, and the Arkadians wanted for nothing.
The fly in the ointment, however, were the creatures that inhabited the sea surrounding the kingdom. At first, few incidents had been reported between the mermaids and the Arkadians. Alas, as the island prospered and more ships began to thread the waters, the relationship between the two species worsened. Before long, war broke out, and many vessels never returned to the harbor.
--
On a beautiful summer afternoon, Clarke was left to her own devices. As the queen, soon to give birth, required more attention from the servants, the princess was free to explore the palace. The guards watched her as she passed by, but none bothered her. The royal family was well-loved, and, apart from the sea creatures, no danger threatened the life of the island’s inhabitants.
Tired as she was of roaming through the same corridors every day, Clarke wished for a change of scenery. The weather was beautiful, and the sweet breeze coming from the open sea called at her. She hurried out of her home with light steps and climbed down the stone stairs leading outside. She did not stop until she was standing in front of the salty water.
Despite the dangers that she knew resided under, the sea was enchanting. With the sunlight, it seemed to glisten. Millions of diamonds danced up and down as far as she could see. Small waves came licking at the earth before drawing back, the tides as eternal as the moon commanding them.
Clarke remained there, her feet buried in the sand, her eyes taking it all in. She had found herself by the cove nearing the palace. To her left, she could see the harbor and hear the many shouts and sounds accompanying any human activity. Ships of various sizes entered and exited, although most were moored. To her right, the small gap leading to the open sea was well-guarded.
The eight-year-old was about to turn around and return home when something caught her attention.
On one side, among half-submerged rocks, a shape moved. At first, Clarke assumed that it was a large fish. However, as she walked closer, surprise and then fear flooded her veins. A mermaid, one of their sworn enemies, lurked in the water less than a few meters away from the shore.

Bakugou Katsuki x Reader
Word Count: ~1,200
CW: explicit language, mild sexual content
Song Inspo: Catch by Brett Young
Collab: Meet Me Where the Sky Touches the Sea hosted by @bbiemilk
~faqs~
Bakugou Katsuki doesn’t plan to fall in love, and certainly not on a rainy day. Rain sucks. It’s wet, it squelches, is often accommodated by cold, and no matter how diligently he attempts to waterproof himself, he somehow always ends up with at least one wet toe or heel. Not to mention the: accompanying monotonous grey, or even black, that blankets the city making 2pm feel like 7pm; how thunder triggers the yapping of dogs and other such annoyances; and how utterly stupid and cranky and selfish humans become. He may or may not be a part of that latter point — sans stupidity, of course. As for love?
“What is love good for?” he’d barked when Eijirou’d tried to set him up on a blind date.
“Love?” Eijirou’d quirked an eyebrow, “I was just hoping you’d have a bearable time and not blast a hole through the bathroom to escape, and you’re jumping to love?”
“Whatever.”
Because as much as Bakugou Katsuki doesn’t plan to fall in love, he isn’t entirely nor completely against the thought of it. The ideal of it.
The warmth of lips pressed fleetingly to his cheek, his clavicle, his earlobe in the early stirrings of morning. The weight of someone watching over him—of someone to watch over—as he chops vegetables, as they shower before work, as he kneels to tie their shoelaces before they can. The promise of forever in the brightness of their laughter; the possibility of always assuming he can even make them laugh. Because Bakugou Katuski is a closeted romantic, albeit picky duh. So sue him if a date is boring, dull, torturous enough to wreck a restaurant — he’s a Hero, he can pay for the damages hell he can upgrade the decor (besides, he’s gotten better at simply stalking out the front door, cash thrown on the table as a meager offering to make up for ditching midway). What he can’t afford is wasted time. Time wasted on hollow shells of greedy opportunists, on almost-could’ve-would’ve-should’ve-wasn’t, on breaking his soul when his heart and body are already on the line every damn day.
“No date?” he’d sneered at Eijirou when Friday rolled around.
“For me?”
“No, for me. You’ve been sending me on dates like clockwork. I figured you had my social weekend planned out.”
“Ican’tsetupanymoredatesforyou.”
“Don’t mumble shitty hair.”
“I can’t set up any more dates for you.”
“Why fucking not?”
“I can’t!”
“Can’t, or won’t?”
“Both!”
Silence. Katsuki staring blankly at the wall behind Eijirou. Inhale.
“I’m that terrible.”
Mild hardening activated, sympathy in Eijirou’s gaze.
“... yeah.”
Exhale. Rehearsed smirk plastered across his face.
“Love’s good for nothing.”
“No- That isn’t- You’re great! You’re Dynamight! Which means, you’re just, uh… intimidating?!”
“I’m hard to please.”
“Um…”
“Whatever.”
And then Bakugou Katsuki falls in love, and on a rainy day at that.
He wouldn’t tell you himself that it was love at first sight, but for the prickly, hard headed, soft hearted man, interest at first sight is pretty darn close. Your attire catches him off guard, then your wave, and then your smile. Your umbrella with its red and white hearts and pink background; your knee high purple rainboots; and the tips of your fingers peeking out from under the sleeves of your sweater and curling inward — evidently trying to insulate your hands. A smudge of color amid a nameless day of black umbrellas, black rainboots, grey sky, and colorless rain.
“They make gloves for that,” he grunts as you wave.
“I’d rather numb fingers than wet feet,” you snort.
“Wet feet?”
“You’re standing in a puddle.”
“Shit!”
Shameless peals of laughter fall from your lips as you watch the grumpy man lift his feet in disgust, telltale squish deepening your satisfaction as his arms cross, unamused scowl meeting your smile.
“Your smile…”
“My smile?”
Shit. Bakugou Katsuki never accidentally says aloud what he’d intended to keep to himself.
“Yeah. Your smile. It’s there.”
“It is there!”
“You’re mocking me,” his eyes narrow.
“Mhm.”
“Are you going anywhere?” he mutters.
“Excuse me?”
“The crosswalk. You’ve basically missed the light.”
You basically missed it too. Idiot.
“Maybe I’m happy in the rain,” you twirl once, twice, three times, kicking up tiny droplets as you go.
“On the corner of an intersection,” Katsuki can’t bring himself to step away, hem of his pants dampening.
“Maybe this is my favorite intersection,” you giggle, leaning onto the stoplight pole, “I’m dizzy.”
“So you don’t have anywhere to be.”
“Maybe right here is where I’m needed.”
Is this flirting?
“You’re dumb.”
This sucks.
“And you’re rude,” you huff.
I suck.
“You’ll get sick,” he hisses.
“You’re worried about me?”
“We just met.”
“So let’s meet again.”
Do they really think that cheesy ass shit works?
“Are you actually happy in the rain?” he murmurs, turning his head to glance at you, eyelids drooping, comforter halfway down his chest, a leg hanging off the bed.
“Eh,” you shrug, comforter snug beneath your chin.
“Are you cold?” Let me hold you.
“No?” Liar.
“I’m hot.” Idiot.
“Yes, Katsuki, yes you are.” I’ll take it.
“You know what I mean.”
“I want to hear you say it.” Shit.
“I could make you hot too?” I. D. I. O. T.
“Are you offering sex or cuddles?” you grin, eyebrows waggling.
“I’m sacrificing my sublime heat for your abysmal temperature regulation.”
“How do you feel about the rain?”
“I hate it.”
Even as he places a gentle palm on your shoulder, faint frown tugging at his mouth. Oof and Katsuki! filling his bedroom when he unceremoniously crushes you into his side. Even as satisfaction wells in his stomach while you glare up at him, your cool limbs wrapping around his overheated body, colder fingertips and toes digging eagerly into his affection. Even as you flick his forehead, grumbling about You messed up the comforter and I was fine and You’re so sticky — only to bury your nose into his pectoral, small sigh raising goosebumps on his skin as he retucks the comforter in. Even as he resigns himself to his fate of not moving a muscle, waking up in a puddle of sweat, and potentially being ~forced to sleep in because your Not yet, sleep, shh is too adorable and heart aching to reject. Even as he contemplates his answer I hate it, realization thickening the lump in his throat, Unless you’re twirling in it. Even as he swallows that lump, its emotion and rawness coating his soul — protecting his soul.
Even as he touches his thumb to your jaw, “Hey.”
If you’re there.
Even as you blink sleepily, reaching for his thumb, “Hey what?”
Then how could I hate it?
Even as he holds his breath, “I love you.”
Even as you hum quietly, knowing smile releasing his fear, “I love you.”
Bakugou Katsuki doesn’t plan to fall in love, and certainly not on a rainy day — even as he falls into you, puddles and all.

some girls were the trailer park princess, and others the queen of the gas station.
as the girl of the gas station, you were there all day on the road of these men much older than you, who had and drove pretty vintage cars who were literally bigger than you. those rich daddies surely had more money than your poor father who was always sitting behind the desk of his shop waiting for the night.
your father never gave you any attention, not even a look, he didn't care about what you did on your summer days as long as he never saw you. so you stayed all day at your playground queendom across from the pitiful, filthy motel where you lived. because here at least the men were looking at you.
of course they were looking at you, you always gave them something to look at with your tiny dresses that showed your naked thighs, your tits pressed together in that backless top. you always dressed in that soft and milky blue shades. as the sea and the sky, you were blue.
while their wives found you sick, you could feel their stares every time you leaned down to grab the keys that they forgot to give you each time. you could feel their eyes completely charmed by the way your summer dress rode up above your ass, and your panties stuck out.
fully bent over, you could hear the groans of these old men, the way they forced their hands themselves to not touch you when you wanted nothing more than to see them give in to the young temptation that you were.
you had a power in them and you loved to see them completely crazy.
you worked as a gas pump attendant. in reality, you did it behind your father's back because it allowed you to stay in the company of these men who only had eyes for you.
you always put on a show for them, and it always worked because you were irresistible.
but there was this guy every time, a regular customer, cold and short-spoken who never spoke to you.
he had a beautiful and luxurious car and you always wondered what job he did to drive such an incredible vehicle, and to spoil you so much with all this money.
he never said thank you for your service. after all, you were paid for it. his eyes were blue as you. he could park and glare at you for hours, sitting deep in his seat, a cigarette stuck between his opened lips.
he was so much older than you, so much to the point it was indecent. when you had first seen him, you had melted like sugar.
as you were coming back from the ice cream parlor, your lips sucking that delicious vanilla ice cream, you sat on the edge of the gas station, right in front of his car, your legs completely spread, white cream melting and dripping between your thighs. he rubbed his painful boner through his boxer.
you were sick, you let him look at you with this completely perverted stare while you let chunks of ice fall into your cleavage.
his eyes were all over you, but this time it was different, because this time it was him who was thinking about you while touching himself. this time it was him who was sick about you , him who had all these furious ideas about you. he pumped himself so hard, biting his lips harshly. and you continued your depraved show, while he jerked off, his big cock shaked and leaked in his own hand, his thick and already experimented fingers moved around his length faster and faster, the sweaty and dirty sound of his balls slapping, the squeaking noises of his chair, his arched back making the chair shaking. you thought of the veins of his dick engorged of blood pulsated against his hefty strength. that was enough to make you fully wet.
you wanted nothing more than to make this old man reach for you. but the problem was, you were too young and naive to know how mad he was, and what he really wanted to do with a pretty doll like you.
you stood up when you finished your ice cream, putting your dress back on neatly, and leaned down, leaning your porcelain princess arms over his car window.
you shuddered when he spread his cum on your face without any warning, smeared the remains of vanilla ice cream over your sloppy lips gloss with lick of drool.
he pushed his big thumb against your little mouth, pushed it into an o shape, and you closed her to start licking up the drops of his cum.
but like every time he came here, he never spoke to you. you had just seen the car leave, while you still had the taste of him on your lips. it was rude.
the next day, your father sent you out to do some groceries on a sweltering hot summer day, tired of seeing you around doing nothing. what he didn’t know was that this was probably the last time he saw you. and even shoupe that you had seen earlier in the morning, and who had told you to be careful, something with a killer around.
when you were done with the grocery, you started walking through the empty parking lot.
you thought you were alone, even though there were a few empty cars.
but it was a mistake, a terrible mistake that you were going to regret.
“didn't shoupe tell you to be careful this morning, sweetheart ? because i'm pretty sure, he did. ”
you screamed when the man grabbed you by the waist, pressing your little ragdoll body against his chest much stronger. the stranger quickly covered your mouth, and bruised your pretty lips with violence without any caring, shoved down his fingers between them to the point that you almost choked with your own breath and saliva.
“ you hurt..me…! ” you tried to say with a lot of difficulty, as his firm grip crushed against your breasts.
“ not yet actually, doll. but i promise, i will if you continue to fight. so beware, or i will fucking kill you. not a threat, sweetheart. it's a promise. “ and you knew that even god couldn't save you at this time.
you tried to bite him, but your teeth barely touched his skin. his lips hovered above your ear, you could hear his deep older voice warned you.
" bite me one more time, and i will break you. i love wrestle with you little girl, but i think you will really hate the way i fight. because when daddy fight sugardoll, he kills. and tiny things like you are so easy to wreck. and you dont want to die today, right ? you're too young for that. do you got it ? nod if you got it, yes. smart baby, understand easily that she needs to listen and not fucking run away. ”
his strength was heavy. you had stopped resisting a few minutes ago, even when he put you in his car.
he started driving, with a smirk, he looked in the rearview mirror before telling you.
“ what's the matter, sugardoll ? don't want to put a show for me, anymore ? ”
he had taken you to a shitty old motel down the road, where no one would be able to pick you up here. you knew he was intelligent, you knew it because you understood that every time he came to see you, he tried to learn more about you, but not to know you no, but to know when would be the right time to kidnap you. you knew it because he had stalked you carefully.
he had tried to tie you up while you tried to struggle one last time. but he had grabbed your jaw so violently that you felt your face shiver in his hands. “one more move, and i’ll show you how dolls are really treated, how i have no fucking bother to kill a tiny thing like you. ”
“i’m not going to run away.”
"i know.” he shushed you with a sick evil smirk. “ but it's not because you don't want to, sugardoll .but more because you can't.” he said, while releasing your jaw.
“ that's the small but important difference. i kidnapped you. do you even know what it means ? "
you started to cry, tears running down your cheeks.
“ you want a real reason to cry? fine. i can do that for you. i kidnapped you but you want to know the big part of all this? is that no one will come for you. your father doesn't love you , and that's why you work in this stupid gas station. you love the attention of these men so bad that you feel obliged to sexualize yourself to feel desired but me, i wanted you the first time i saw you. i let you do it, i let you play with them, but now it's all over. since i own you, this game is fucking over. ”
“shoupe will come after me ! ”
“but maybe you won’t be around to see it anymore.” he looked at you, and shushed your tears, while staring in your wet eyes. “ yes, i really like when you give me those tears, cry to me, little girl i'm the only men that really got you. ”
you glared at him as if he had fallen from the sky.
“ but now you have to be careful, don’t get on my nerves. i know it's hard for you, but don't do stupid things. ”
he placed your hand on his lower back, where you had felt the metallic coldness of the gun. and you shivered.
"yes, you got it. don't ever get on my nerves.”
“ how can i get on your nerves ? you don't really seems like a bad guy. more like a sweet guy ? ”
“ i'm not. and i'm not trying to be so watch your mouth. “
“ but i really think you are. can i hug you ? ”
“ try it, doll, literally try it. just try to touch me, i dare you. and i bet you will never tell me i'm the sweetest guy again. ”
“ can you at least bathe me ? ” you asked seriously.
“ jesus, do you think i'm your slave or whatever ? do you forget which position you are in ? in the captive one. so do not ask me those stupid things again. and don't try, no, never try to run away because, i can promise you that when i will find you, it will not be a pleasant time for you. and not even a little, but to the point, you will ask me to kill you. and i will be in a mood to accept your request ? yes, me. ”
you nodded as the kind and little girl you are who cannot argue against this tall man. he released your small face, and you were bathing alone. while you were taking your bath, alone in the tub, you heard rafe on the phone without being able to understand what he was saying but after that call, he left the room.
you had decided to buy some food with the little money you had at the food and drink vending machine.
with a happy smile, you went back up, hoping to please him. but you had found him on the chair in front of the TV.
“look, what…”
“i think you’re really nice. but not at your own good, sugar. ”
“ i just wan…”
“ get on the bed, now. ”
he couldn't help but relaxing when he saw how your blue dress was so tiny, already showing your soaked underwear.
" no whining. " he said as he shoved himself deeply in your tight abused cunt, your ragdoll body pressed down in the mattress, his thick stronger arms hugged your small waist, while thrusting harder and harder, your walls clenched around his fat cock. you can felt the size growing bigger in your wettering pussy, as he turned you into a real crybaby, tears flowing down your cheeks. you were caged by his beefy and muscular body on the bed, gasped on the edge. “ you wanted to act like a big girl ? then take it like a big girl. no fucking whining, i'm just giving you what you want. ”
he was literally buried inside you, snapping your hips, moving in and out. the atmosphere was hot, you felt the heat, there were trails of saliva around your mouth. “stop whining babydoll, daddy is not at his worse actually. and you don't want to see this happen.” you wanted to hate him but it was like you appreciated him being so mean to you, your pussy was dripping, your fluids drenching him, your sticky walls surrounded his girth. " yes, that's it. pull up some juices for daddy, make it easier for him to destroy you. "
everytime you runned away from him, he lifted your head with a grunt, and with a wild thrust inside of you, making you drip even more as his glistening tip reached your spot, the dirty and wetness sound of his moves echoed in the room, your body trapped against his taller one.
with a hand on your throat, you were arched to the point where he could see your wetted eyes rolled up. "try to run away again, and you will have the fucking pleasure to be a momma, as well as a missing girl. i'm not asking you to take my cock better.” he said with a threat. “ no, i'm telling you to do it as your fucking job. ”
all teary, you could bet that rafe didn't know how big he was for telling you this. you were trying your best actually. he was rutting in you, holding your tiny size with one big hand, getting so feral everytime he saw your small body twitching when he pushed himself further. your moans were loud, as your squirted more than one time on him, your dripping walls clamped his hard cock. even when your third orgasm flowed against your bulging pussy, creating a mess at the surface, he continued.
" you know sugardoll, you better work faster for my cum, because i will only stop when i will see how creampie your pussy is for my dick.”
he stuffed your puffy messy cunt, while your pumped his fingers who slidded deep down in your throat, your warm and bullied tongue fighting to not dropped them.
you slobbed more with the overstimulation. you felt like this man was insatiable. rafe loved to see you, his sugardoll in pain, taking so much for him.
when he finally stopped teasing you, and fighting himself to not cum, and clearly toying you, he exploded, making you cried out. all your body was filled with spasms.
you expected something from rafe when he pulled out, a little soft spot, or at least, just one look but he just went to the bathroom. alone.
you expected him to be sweet for you, like the sugar you were for him. and you knew, that you will work for this later.
when he came back, you looked at him, always attracted by his charisma, the way he made you felt so tiny by his big size, the way he was old enough to make you feel like a little girl, just the way his raised voice made you feel so small.
“ can i sleep with you ? ”
“ whatever. just don't touch me. ”
“ you're not gonna be my big spoon ? “
“ what the fuck is this ? i'm not gonna be your spoon. jesus, can you just sleep and not ask for any stupid things that you think i will do because you're already so obsessed with me ? and give me your hands. ”
he tied them up on the bed with your little blue ribbon.
“ just in case you think you can escape me. ”
“ i can't sleep like that ! ”
“ i fear it's not my fucking problem, sugardoll.”
“ fine. i will talk and talk all night. ”
“ i can fuck you all the night too. but one of us will not survive this. so stop being so damn annoying. ”
“ what if i want to pee in the middle of the night ? ”
“ you're strong enough to hold it. and you fucking better be strong enough to hold it. ”
“ why are you so mean to me ? why you kidnapped me ? ”
“ sugardoll, listen to me. look at me, yes. eyes on daddy right now. i swear, and you need to listen carefully because i will tell you once, just once, so your dumby brain need to pay attention, if you're talking another time, even if i see your lips moving, just a twitch, i will put my dick right in your mouth, making you suck it for without a break until the sun rises again. and i can promise you that after, you will never talk to me because you will never be able to open that mouth again. do you got it ? nod your head if you got it, doll.”
and you nodded.
as a doll, you were conditionned to listen to your owner, even if he was so mean to you. but you were as soft as sugar, always melted around, already thinking he was the best guy around.
“ sweet dreams, sugardoll. ”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i promise one day i will write something very good, just give me a chance. i think the only sweet thing in this work, it's rafe calling r " sugardoll ", he's so mean please 😭😭 i think i make him a little too dark to the point, i'm questionning about how he can be sweet to the reader now ????? but i guess, it's part of the game. tysm @bunnyrafe and @fae-of-prey me a lot !

Since my other Nether worldbuilding post was received pretty well... I'm back on my bullshit!
This time featuring zoning and biomes of the Neath: Lore below cut
Nether (noun): the formidable hellscape straddling the boundery between the Fragments of the Overworld and Death's Realms.
Derived from Beneath -> Neath -> Neth -> Nether.
The Nether is most easily accessable through outer regions of the nether, regions that are comparatively closed-off, and lacking in biodiversity compared to the Deep Nether where most Neath civilizations are centered.
The Neth is divided into three primary zones, distinguished by altitude and general climates.
The Calfactory Zone: the largest and most icon of the three, the Calfactory zone is blisteringly hot and bone-dry, it's most prominent features are its abundant seas and lakes of magma, and the massive Supermagmas atriums that are common above the magma. In the largest of these atriums, the ceiling may be so high above as to be completely invisible from the ground, obscured by an ever present smog of toxic vapor and minerals formed in the self-generated micro-climates that are generated from the rising heat of the lava that begins to cool at a higher altitude.
In the Basalt Deltas and other biomes around the edges of these lakes, massive pillars of rock and crystals bulwark the more-visible ceiling.
The most common of this zone’s biomes is the Crimson woods, home to hearty thermal-philic fungi and plants that grow on the minerals and vapors of the lakes. Many are carnivorous in their lack of access to water or sunlight, and these forests contain many sub-biomes and ecosystems of flourishing life.
The Wastes are perhaps the most desolate regions of the Neath, irradiated deserts of red-rock, brimstone, and sharp sand. Even the vast majority of nether-folk avoid these deserts due to the leftover radiation that rots and destroys anything that waits too long. The only forms of life are particularly robust lichens and bacteria that are happy to sit by the pools of boiling pools of sulfur and mud and toxic sludge that dot the landscape. Growing within the rocks themselves are colonies of amorphous fungus, called geocorpus molds that get their spores into cracks in the soft netherack and slowly feed on it, a delicacy in nether cuisine.
The Temperate Zone: Cradled in the heights of the Neath’s atriums and sat bellow the roof is the temperate zones, the rising heat of the zone below begins to cool and forming distinct weather patterns in this zone and leaving it, while still sweltering, a cooler though much more humid climate.
The main biome are the luminescent warped-fungal rainforests that collect the high-rising minerals and odd moisture from the lakes. Liquid is actually precent here, though if it’s not safely filtered through the innards of the various plants and fungi, this water is usually aggressively corrosive, and it is best to shelter from the  acidic precipitation to avoid chemical burns. The nether folk and ender local to these rainforests are suited to deal with these conditions and the ender especially do not have trouble with the extreme pH of the water here like they would in the overworld. The zone is lit almost exclusively by the biolumincense of the organisms there and have often been described as false-stars.
In the Deep Nether, the ceiling may give way, allowing one to pass onto the plateaus of the Nether Roof and the yawning void above. The bedrock of the nether roof is jagged and layered in huge slabs, sometimes broken up my mazes of pillar-like structures and shallow, thermal pools of crystal-clear liquid. The kind you don't want to touch of course. fogs may hang low to the ground, but when its clear, or above the fog, the entire universe seems to spill out into the sky. The nether roof was culturally significant and a source of much knowledge and inspiration in the early days, but I'll get more into that in a later post 0.0
The Rime Zone: Plunge deep enough and one might find themselves bellow the lava beds. Here, where the heat can't quite penetrate, the temperatures will drop rapidly to sub-zero.
Namely, the Rime Zone is made up of the soul valleys, flat steppes of cinder and clotted sand, you can imagine it almost with the blindness effect, a fog that pools by your feet, and a heavier darkness hanging from the sky, it feels massive and endless and claustrophobic all at once. Frost collects as crystals on the irradiated, soul-soaked barrens, and the bones of the massive nether wyrms lie fossilized, breaking up the landscape. The sands are also split with patches of crazing on the ground and vents of blue fire that spills out and sets the sand ablaze.
These same wryms can be found sometimes, ancient things that dig through sand and soft rocks and the magma lakes, far and few between and treated with both fear and reverence.
And in the deepest pits of the Neath are the glowing frozen lakes that are colloquially and rightfully called the Gates to Death, glowing blue from beneath their surfaces. Indeed, any further down and you pass into limbo, the edge of Death's Realms.
Extra Notes??:
Soul sand/soil is tread on carefully or not at all, is one form of remnants from the apocolyspe. Like the general radiated rubble present through the Nether, it's a fault of nuclear fallout. Unlike other areas of radiation, its also been infused with the souls of those who didn't survive the joining of worlds.
This infused quality is also precent in Nether Debris, resulting in a material that takes magic particularly well.
Iron cannot be found in dense veins and crystals like gold or quartz in the nether, but it's a pretty rich mineral a lot of netherack, giving it its ruddy coloring.
Sorry for this massive rant that no one asked for. If you have questions please feel free to send an ask, I may not have an answer yet but I'll certainly come up with one if I can.
I'm also hoping to do a pass on my headcanons about history and culture in the Nether and then we might start talking about character headcanons since this is also an actual AU.
If you read this far, here's some notes on striders and ghast

Simple Math / Part Twelve
Simple Math masterlist
Tumblr media
Ghost/Soap/female reader 4.4k words - AO3 Warnings-tags: 18+ MDNI, smut. Handjob, praise kink, Simon talks you through it. Feelings of fear and anxiety, self doubt, self consciousness. Small panic attack. Comfort. Domestic slice of life. Penny lore. POV switch. A glimmer of morally grey. One step forward, two steps back.
You almost forget where you are.
Almost.
The struggle is brief, trying to acclimatize to the changes, dark green sheets pooling around you, emerald tones rich and ambient, the sage green comforter pulled up over your shoulders.
You almost forget, but Simon’s bulk is nearly suffocating, and you’re pushed up against Johnny, crowded between two immovable objects, two sky high walls.
He’s got you tucked into his chest, hand pressed firm against your belly, leg thrown over yours. Your hand still rests on Johnny, covered by his own, and you blink blearily at the bolts of morning light streaming in through the windows.
“Go back to sleep.” Simon’s mumbling right over your ear, ghost of his breath sending goosebumps down your arms. “It’s early.” He snuggles closer, shoulders curled over yours like a blanket, blazing heat bleeding from him to you… everywhere. His cock throbs against your ass, folded up against his stomach, nestled against your skin. Your mouth goes dry when you allow yourself to focus, to look, to feel, thighs squeezing together, a lust filled whine building in the back of your throat.
This is new.
You don’t do this… your mind, your body, has always been trapped in a fight or flight, survival mode taking over your core needs and instincts, leaving no room for desire, or affection.
But this... this is different. This is safe.
Your hand drifts lower on Johnny’s stomach. He’s shirtless, satin skin soft under your touch, and it’s almost on instinct when you settle your palm under his navel, a safe distance away from his sutures and graft, hovering north of the elastic in his sweatpants. He’s hard beneath them, outline mouthwatering in the quiet morning, and you lick your lips.
What are you doing?
Simon’s fingers idly stroke that spot on your waist, where your hips fold into the space beneath your ribcage, swirling his touch down your belly and around, steady and safe, an anchor in turbulent seas. Your fingers dip beneath the band, mindful of his hip, sliding through curls, just barely grazing the root of Johnny’s cock.
What’re you doing?
Are you really doing this?
You haven’t touched, or been touched, in ages. It’s foreign, and terrifying, and doubt clouds your head, anxiety rocketing through your veins to your heart, where it triple beats.
“It’s okay.” Simon soothes, sliding a hand over yours, guiding you to where he curls his fingers and yours around the base, tightening his grip into a squeeze.
“I-“
“Want to touch him? Like this?” He murmurs, keeping his voice low, scratchy and gritted against your ear. You’re breathing in time, chests rising and falling together, and you nod hastily, too afraid to lose the scrap of courage that keeps trying to flicker out.
“Y-yeah.” You whisper. You do want to, you want to so badly.
Johnny stirs. He tugs at his pants, not quite awake, trying to pull them down, and Simon helps silently, carefully tucking the elastic lower as to not put pressure on his injuries. He blinks sleepily, confused, before finding your face, impish smile spreading across his cheeks, eyes drifting shut again. He’s not wearing anything beneath them, his thick, uncut cock bobbing free at his partner’s urging, and you gasp at the sight. He’s already flushed, bead of pre-come glistening from the tip, and you hesitantly reach for it, Simon’s hand still covering yours.
“Need to start slow.” Simon coaches, both of your hands moving from root to tip together, squeezing at the base when he encourages you to do so. “Don’t want him tensing up, straining his injuries. Nice and- good bunny, just like that.” His cock is blaring hot in your palm, and you work him gently at Simon’s urging, watching his face twitch and eyebrows creasing, bottom lip tugged underneath his top teeth.
“Fuckin- hell-“ He hisses, hips trying to jerk upward.
“Relax.” Simon instructs, stilling him. You keep up the movement, iridescent spend slicking your strokes, slippery sounds filling the room.
“Ach.” Johnny moans, and you throb, nerves buzzing beneath your skin. Simon coos at him.
“Lucky boy, havin’ our bunny take care of you.”
“A-aye.” His fingers tighten in the sheets, eyes still slammed shut, and Simon squeezes your hip.
“You can go a little harder, like this.” He increases the rhythm, tightening his grip over yours, and your hips tilt back, pressing into the hardness settled against your cheeks, pressure returned with a flex of his own. “That’s it, that’s what he likes. Good girl.”
“Si.” His voice breaks. “P-please… d-d-“ He’s unable to get his words free, gasping for air like he’s just gone out for a run, haggard draw of his lungs stretched to the limit as you hold your own.
“I know sweet boy, you’re so backed up, I know. We’ll fix it.” You think you’re going to explode between them, heat and pressure and atmosphere all bearing down on your bones, grinding them to dust inside your skin. You’re not even sure you’re in your own body in this moment, watching from afar, mystified and impressed at your boldness, your courage, your abandonment of the wall you've so steadily remained perched on. “Breathe, Johnny.” Simon reminds him steadily.
The girl in the mirror is nowhere to be found. It’s just you, and Johnny, and Simon, together.
“You’re doing so well.” Simon hums. “Makin’ our boy feel good, what a good little bunny.” Jesus christ. Your eyes nearly roll back into your head, thighs like a vice, squeezing together so tight, desperate for friction against your clit. Your hips are rocking on their own now, small, micromovements pushing you into Simon again and again, Johnny whimpering and crying as the two of you stroke him harder and faster.
“Will you show our bunny how much of a mess you make, Johnny? Gonna come all over our fingers?” Simon pushes him harder, his legs twitching against yours, and Johnny gasps like he’s in pain, nearly crying, on the edge of a precipice.
“Ah, ah- ‘m gonna-“ He explodes in your hands, coating your fingers with creamy spend, rivers of it running down your fist, strokes slowing to a stop as he pants and shudders.
“Oh there it is- good boy, so good.” He tugs until Johnny is empty, and then raises your hand to his mouth, lips closing around your fingers to lick them clean.
You feel faint. Johnny smiles lazily. “Well, good mornin’ to ye too, bun.”
“I-“ What are you going to say? You don’t know what came over you? Sorry? Good morning? Everything evaporates on your tongue, happiness burning to ash.
“You alright?” Simon asks, rubbing your hip. Still, no words come. All you can do is stare at him. “Bunny? Hey.” He shifts, and Johnny tries to sit up, bliss morphing into concern.
“Pretty girl.” He holds your hand, thumb rubbing against your knuckles, and you try to remind yourself to breathe.
What are you doing?
“Everything’s okay.” Simon is on his knees now, dipped down in front of you, cradling your jaw. “You’re okay, bun. Just breathe for us.” He rubs your back, and Johnny keeps his fingers curled against your pulse point. They steady you, anchor you, and you surface again, free from the wave of black water trying to drag you down.
“S-sorry.” You hiss, chest less tight. “I’m fine, sorry.”
“Lay back.” Simon urges. “I’m going to go get a towel to clean up, stay here.” You nod, cuddling close, your head resting on Johnny’s chest, his touch slow on the back of your neck.
“Ye’re with us, bunny. Ye’re safe.” You close your eyes with a whisper.
“I know.”
The unsteady peace of the morning doesn't last very long. It’s not too soon after Simon gets Johnny cleaned up that Penny is awake, baby monitor sparking to life, dragging him from the other side of the bed and down the hall.
“How did ye sleep?” Johnny murmurs, still holding you close.
“Good. Great, actually. How are you uh, feeling?”
“Okay. Hip is throbbin’ but I imagine it’ll always be like that from now on.”
“It will get better. You’ll be right as rain in no time.” His thumb brushes your cheek.
“Come here.” You inch closer, bringing your faces together and he kisses you, soft and delicate in the early glow of the day. “Dinnae like ye being so far away. Need ye close. Helps me feel better.”
“You’re such a brat.” You tease, but can’t help giving him another kiss, basking in his warmth. He pushes back against you, flushed. Tan skin warmed bronze and rubicund on his cheeks, almost pink. His eyes are a brighter shade of blue, clear like Caribbean waters, lips swollen, and bee stung. He looks… so fucking hot. Like Hercules, a hero, tired after battle.
“You sound like Si.” His hand lingers along the curve of your hip, inciting the riotous butterflies into a flurry, heat simmering in your belly. “I like these.”
“My sweatpants?”
“Aye. They fit ye well.” He peeks over, and you giggle despite yourself. He makes it so easy, to feel weightless, free, smiling as handsome as ever, long strands of mohawk falling into his eyes.
“Think you need a haircut.”
“I do. Si usually does it, but I think he’ll be nominatin’ ye this time around.”
“I can’t cut hair!”
“Ach, ‘ts not that hard. Ye just trim a little off the ends and be done wit’ it.” You roll your eyes, and the door cracks open, revealing Simon and Penny, sippy cup in hand.
“See? He’s right there.” He hums, holding her steady, her arms already reaching for where Johnny waits. “Da’s right here.”
“My wee lamb.” He cuddles her into his good side, kissing and cooing, letting her bounce on the bed. “Hey princess. Ye have a good breakfast?”
“She’s on another banana kick.” Simon sighs, kissing his forehead, and then turning to you. “Okay?” He checks in, focused and concerned, and you nod.
“Yeah. I’m okay.”
“Forgot to ask how you slept…” He eyes the bed.
“Good, yeah. I… slept really well.”
“Guess ye’ll just have to sleep in here for now on.” Johnny quips, fingers preoccupied by being dragged towards Penny’s mouth. Sleep in here for now on? Like, with them?
Pen coos, tipping towards you with a chubby little smile. “Bunny.” She babbles, fingers straining.
Your hand finds hers, holding on to keep her upright. “Good morning to you too, little miss. Sorry I neglected you.” You sign ‘good morning’, one of the few you know from work, and she claps, thrilled. Simon beams.
“Yes, she’s terribly neglected.” He sits at Johnny’s side, mindlessly stroking his leg, massaging and working the muscle in his calf. “How do we feel about getting you downstairs?” He nods, and you roll over, sliding off the bed to lumber towards his crutches.
“Nice and slow.” His fingers brush yours as he takes them, and a shy smile works across his face.
“Ye’ll help me?” Simon tsks, but you sigh playfully.
“Of course.”
Getting Johnny settled is easy. You build him a nice little nest with the pillows from the couch, fluffing them for support, making sure he’s comfortable, until Simon reminds you to take it easy.
“You’re not at work, let me do this.”
“I don’t mind…”
“I do. Sit.” He leans you back into the cushions, settling you both, plopping Penny down between you. “If you keep an eye on her, I’ll get breakfast.” She crawls into your side with her sip cup, and you try not to tense when she curls up against your ribs. Her feet press against Johnny’s thigh, and he cups them both in one hand, staring at her like he’s trying to memorize every little piece. Deep breath. You can do this.
“Isnae she the bonniest thing ye’ve ever seen?” He breathes, and you nod.
“She really is. The cutest.”
“She looks like ‘im.” He murmurs, and you blink, glancing down at the baby. Like who?
“Like…” the curiosity falls out of your mouth in a hurry, and you grimace. He gives you a weird look.
“He didnae tell ye?”
“Tell me what?”
“She’s his. Simon’s.”
“Wait, I thought…” You don’t what you thought. You assumed she was adopted, or something else. “She’s…”
“We got turned down by every agency, ye know. Two dads, active combat roles.” He leans forward, tickling her arm, and her eyes light up, like she’d forgotten he was there. You help her straighten, and she scoots over closer to him, trying climb him like a jungle gym. “Ah, Penny. No. Da’s hurt.” He makes the sign for what you assume is hurt, his pointer fingers motioning towards one another. “Hurt, Penny. Da is hurt.” He does it again, and she cocks her head. “Here, sit here, there’s a girl.” She settles easily after that, completely captivated by the old Disney movie Johnny flicked on. “Anyway, no one would let us adopt a baby. Felt like it was goin’ be impossible, and we almost gave up. Then we met Pen’s mum.”
“You knew her?”
“Aye. She’s special. Gave us a chance.” Something green and snappish curdles in your stomach. It’s illogical, insane, and you try to beat it back. “We didnae know, obviously, who the dad was goin’ be but, I’m so glad it was him.”
“Did you…”
“Do it naturally?” He wiggles an eyebrow. “Nay. We both donated and she did it at home.”
“And... Simon said she's not in Penny’s life?”
“Not right now. She will be again, one day. She jus’ travels a lot and is really committed to her job. Has no parental rights, nothin’ like that. But she’s not against seeing Penny, the adoption is open.”
“That’s great.” Adoption is delicate, you know. There’s no one size fits all when it comes to nature of it, and you’re relieved to hear it sounds like they have something that’s healthy for Penny, and everyone involved.
“Sorry, thought he would’ve told ye.”
“It didn’t come up, and I didn’t want to… pry. He mentioned she was deaf when I asked about the sign language.”
“Eh, pry all ye want. Ye’re in our life, ye should know these things. And aye, she’s fully deaf. Travels as an interpreter for the U.S. military. Works with some important guy at the top. Dinnae know much about it.”
“That’s really cool.”
“We’re very grateful to her.” He strokes some of Penny’s curls from her forehead, and you look closer, watching for similarities, her chubby cheeks and chestnut dusted dark blonde hair now starting to look reminiscent of Simon, the longer you study her.
“I’m happy for you guys.” He glances from her to you with a beautiful smile, so handsome it makes your chest hurt.
“Me too.”
“I think,” Simon brings two plates with eggs and toast, handing one to Johnny before placing the other on the table by your knee. “We should have a bit of a lie in on the couch, easy day. Bun’s still on leave of absence, and you’re not going anywhere.” He shoots Johnny a pointed look, who holds his hand up as if to say, who me?
“A lie in sounds grand.” He postures, grimacing with a shift. You instinctively try to move towards him, a hand on Pen to keep her in place, but Simon beats you to it.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothin’ jus’ my hip.”
“Let’s eat something and I’ll get your pain meds.” You nod encouragingly.
“Better to take them with something in your stomach.”
“Is it goin’ be like this all the time? Two nursemaids cluckin’ at me?”
“Probably.” You laugh, and Simon shakes his head.
“See, this isn’t so bad, is it?” Johnny murmurs, voice low. Penny is upstairs, asleep for her morning nap already, both guys settled back on the couch, a tangle of limbs.
“No.” you whisper. Simon’s head turns, drawing his eye, but the exchange is fleeting.
“How’s your shoulder, bun?” Johnny murmurs, and you half shrug.
“Better. The steroid helped a lot.” The room is heady, and you’re cocooned in its warmth, blazing heat radiating from Simon trying to lull you into a nap like Pen’s.
“Ye can sleep, pretty girl.” Johnny smirks. His legs are thrown over the larger man’s thighs, one gingerly cushioned, the other, lackadaisical and bent.
“It’s so warm in here.” You offer as an explanation, and he agrees.
“Aye. Si’s a furnace.”
“You run pretty warm yourself.” Simon chides, but nods encouragingly at you.
“I need a shower.” It is tempting, to curl up on the couch between them, slip away into safe and comfortable dreamland but… not without a shower. You’re overdue.
“Okay. We’ll be here.”
There isn’t much in this world a shower can’t fix.
Or at least, that’s how this one feels. It’s scalding, so hot the room steams up within a minute, and you relax under the spray, letting it wash over the soreness in your shoulder, cascade down your back.
You linger in it, soaking up the quiet moment, raising your face to the water over and over, letting it rinse you clean.
By the time you get out, you almost feel like a brand-new person.
If only…
“How was yer shower?”
“Good.” He tries to fidget on the couch, rocking back and forth to make room for you. “Don’t Johnny, you’ll hurt-“
“I’m fine.” He grunts. “I’m still me, ye know. I know ye didnae know me, before, but I dinnae need help wit’ everything.” Your heart cracks.
“I know you don’t.” You think back to your vulnerable patient, the one who cried about being separated from his family, and how far he’s come. It fills you with pride, and something so foreign, so strange, you don’t even recognize. A massive swell of affection, of care. “I’m just… programmed, you know?” You try to soothe him, and he grumbles until you’re slipping into his side, turning to press your face in his chest.
“Sorry, bun. Didnae mean to get frustrated.”
“I know, Johnny.”
The baby monitor crackles.
Johnny shifts restlessly.
“What is it?” you murmur, and he huffs.
“I want to get her. Hate feelin’ useless to my own daughter.” You could…
“Do you… do you want me to grab her? Bring her down here for you?” His eyes light up.
“Would ye? Si’s just in the kitchen, dealing with some laundry. If ye could-“
“Yeah, I got her.”
“Ye’re sure? Yer shoulder…”
“It’s fine, promise.” He holds your jaw briefly, tongue dashing out to lick his lips, and then he kisses you, wet and messy, breathlessly.
“Thanks, bun.”
Penny’s room is dark. You’ve seen it in passing, but never really been inside, and when you flick on the light, she’s already standing in her crib, little face wet with tears.
‘Shhh, it’s alright!” You’re not sure she will calm for you since you’re not one of her dads. You’re practically a stranger in her life, but she reaches for you anyway, arms stretched out, hands grabbing in mid air. “Okay, okay, here we go.” You support her weight with your good arm, tucking her up on your waist, setting her easily on your hip.
At least they’re good for something.
“There we go. Ready to go downstairs, see Da? Yeah?” You babble, surprised to feel her nappy still dry, and she tilts her head back, pretty eyes and gob smacked expression locked onto you.
Fuck.
“Hi, baby girl.” You whisper, backs of two fingers gentle on her cheek. “You really do look like your dad, don’t you?” Something springs a leak, cracks slivering wide, a failsafe crumbling in your chest. It stops working, stops processing, because tears are suddenly flooding your eyes, making it hard to see.
Penny coos. You try to take a deep breath.
Get it together. You’re holding their baby.
Deep breath.
Pain long buried and forgotten clangs on the rusty iron encasing your heart. It bangs against it, pleads to get out.
For a second, it steals your breath. Almost forces a sob from your throat. Raw edged agony beats wildly through your veins, sharp and acidic, poisoning you from the inside out.
You shove it back where it came from.
You need some air. You need some space, some distance... something that will lessen this feeling, this despair.
“Alright,” you croak. “Let’s get you downstairs.”
“Where’s…”
“She went up to get Penny.” Simon nods, thumb slipping the monitor’s volume crank higher, head cocked.
“Hi baby girl… you really do look like your dad, don’t you?” He glances at Johnny, who shrugs sheepishly.
“I let it slip.”
“Did you explain everything?”
“Mostly. Didnae want her to think we were together or anything like that.” Simon nods, satisfied, and Johnny’s toes curl a little. He loves seeing that expression on his face, the proud one, the nearly smug one, and he’d do anything for it, again and again. Johnny tilts his chin for a kiss and he obliges, deep and slow, gentle hand on his chest. “You were so good for us earlier. How’re you feeling? Anything sore?” The blood rushes back to Johnny’s cock from the praise alone, and he blushes.
“I feel good.”
“Do ya?”
“Aye. Wanna play with our bunny s’more.” He grows hotter under his clothes, but Simon shakes his head.
“Don’t push it. We’ve talked about this. You have to let her set the pace.” He knows, and he tries, but after this morning, all he can think about is your hand on his cock, your mouth on his, the dazed, lust filled expression on your face as your hips rocked in time with your strokes.
He wants to show you everything they can give you; the way real love is supposed to feel. Not painful and terrifying. But beautiful, and limitless.
“She’s ready for more.” He protests.
“She’s not, Johnny.” He’s using that tone, the one Johnny knows not to argue with, so he concedes.
After all, he doesn’t really want to push you. He wants you to trust them. Love them.
He wants you to feel safe and comfortable. He’ll wait as long as it takes.
“Alright,” your voice sounds heavy, broken. Simon’s head snaps up. “Let’s get you downstairs.”
Penny is dancing in your arms, clapping her hands together with some sort of sign you don’t seem to understand, babbling nonstop.
“Someone’s awake!” you declare, and Johnny holds his arm out, beckoning.
“There they are.” Simon ruffles his mohawk. You almost falter, stuttering in your stance, but your lips quirk into a tiny smile.
“She’s still dry.” You explain, placing her in his side. He wants to pull you down for another kiss, but Penny insists on one instead, open mouth seeking his nose like a bird.
“Ach, alright wee lamb, alright.”
“You okay?” Simon is cautious, trying not to encroach too much when you’re having a hard time, something he’s been instilling in Johnny too. Giving you space, giving you time.
“Bunny? Ye wit' us?” You’re in your head again, drifting. Here, but not really, and he tries to pull back towards them, to safety. To love.
“Yeah, I… uh. I have to run some errands.”
“Where?” Simon asks sharply, and Johnny tries to sit up.
“I have to go to the hospital, fill out some paperwork for leave, and I need to swing by apartment… get some clothes and stuff.”
“I’ll go with you.”
“No, no that’s alright. You guys hang out. I won’t be too long.” You look uncomfortable, twisting and turning, rubbing the back of your neck.
“Let me drive you, at least. I can’t stand you taking the train all over the city.” You laugh.
“I’ve grown up on trains and been fine, besides...” You motion to Johnny and Penny on the couch before your arms cross, sprinkle of defiance that has him casting a quick glance to see Simon’s jaw flexing. What choice do they have?
“Alright. Well, text us to check in yeah?”
You’re gone for hours. Simon takes to pacing, and Johnny can’t soothe him, can’t hold him in the way he wants, can’t walk over and throw his arms around him the way he should be.
It hurts.
“What’s dad doing, hmm Penny? What’s he doing?” He coos, pointing to where his partner is checking his cellphone for the tenth time. She babbles something unintelligible back to him, chin tipped back, gazing in wonder.
Simon’s stress softens, hardness still lingering in worry lines, mouth taut. “‘M sorry.” He murmurs, settling on the couch opposite where Penny is sitting up against Johnny.
“It’s okay. I’m worried too.” He commiserates. It’s the same kind of agony in his heart, the same taste is his mouth, from when he was in hospital. Helplessly laid up and watching you work your way through whatever is chasing you. He clears the lump in his throat. “She’ll be back soon. Right? She wouldnae…” panic erupts in the bottom of his stomach. “She wouldnae just, leave.”
“We don’t know what she would do, love. She’s scared, and she’s smart, and we don’t know who she’s running from.”
“Maybe ye should’ve followed her.” He groans, and Simon gives him a look.
“Thought you didn’t want me doing that now?”
“I dinnae.” He chews on his lip. His abdomen is throbbing, and he reaches for Simon’s hand.
“Hey, it’s okay.” Simon soothes, rubbing a thumb over the back of his knuckles.
“Everythin’ would be easier if I wasnae like… like this.” He grits, frustration laden voice cracking. He’s a mess. A burden, can’t take care of his own family, help Si with Pen, or you. All he can do is lay here, and-
“Shhh. Don’t say that.” Simon cradles the back of his head, mouth pressed against his forehead. “You’re alive, that’s all I care about. You came home.”
“Feel like I should be doin’ more.”
“The only thing-“ Penny grunts, and Simon plops a finger in her fist, letting her yank and tug on it. “The only thing you need to do is get better, focus on healing. I’m here for the rest, okay?”
“Okay.” He whispers, eyes heavy. The medications knock him out, but it’s better than before, when he was stuck inside dreams, bound to a bed.
“Get some rest, sweet boy. I’ll wake you when she’s back.” He’s already losing the battle, stupor dragging him back under, and bliss clouds his head as he begins to drift.
“‘Kay.”

bug's summer fic fest ♡
The drive from Forest Hills to the arcade is spent with Lucas and Dustin bickering in the backseat and Eddie’s hand on your thigh.
“It’s been two years, and you still can’t beat my high score, Dusty Bun,” the former boy taunts. The nickname spills like venom from his smiling face. “Just give it up, okay? It’s not happening.”
Dustin grins back at him. It’s more so mischievous than it is taunting. His deep blue eyes narrow in a challenging squint. “You are so gonna be eating your words by the end of the night. When we leave, Princess Daphne is gonna be mine, alright? For good.”
Their arguing becomes background noise. With your cheek lolled against the hand you’ve got propped against the window, you’re pulled into the wispy lilac cloud your gaze is so heavily fixated upon. The sky billows lavender against a sea of pink and golden orange — a summer sunset so vivid you can taste it.
The only thing keeping you grounded is Eddie’s palm on your knee, wide and warm and all-consuming. His thumb rubs against your skin so softly you think it must be absentminded. It feels like static shock, anyway. He laughs quietly to himself, and his fingers tremble gently against you. This time they squeeze you with a newfound intention as he brings you back to him.
“What do you think, babe?” Eddie asks, pink mouth spread in a pearly white grin. His chocolate eyes glimmer with the golden hour sun as his gaze flits between yours and the road. “Think Dusty Bun has a chance here?”
You nod, scrunched nose and squinted eyes, silent in your support for the curly-headed boy who’s still yelling over Lucas in the back of the van.
“What about me?” he presses. And because he knows better than to give his quiet girl anything other than a yes or no answer, he follows quickly, “You think today’s the day I finally beat your Space Invaders high score?”
A beat passes. The momentary silence is filled with arguing boys, old tires on older asphalt, and Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” spilling softly from the radio. A quiet smile tugs at the corners of your mouth. You purse the mischievous expression to the side as you turn away from him again.
Your non-answer makes him laugh. It sounds exactly like the colors of the sunset.
His beat-up van jerks when he puts it into park. The door on the side squeaks as the kids file out of it. Eddie’s does too, but you can’t hear it over him telling you to “sit tight.”
You wait patiently in the passenger seat like you always do, smiling to yourself as the boy rushes around the hood to open the door for you. The hinges screech in protest. His wild curls billow in the wind as he smiles. “C’mon, sunshine. Our palace awaits.”
The group of you stand beneath the spinning neon sign he parked next to — glowing orange and white beneath a setting sun. Someone calls from across the parking lot, “Well, well, well. Look who it is.”
Your heads snap in the direction of the painfully familiar voice.
Jason and the rest of his abnormally tall goons stand outside the new gym that just opened on the strip. The dark, vacant building wedged between The Palace and Family Video was no longer as scary as it used to be now that it was occupied. You were just hoping it’d be something more exciting. Forcing arcade nerds and gym bros into one spot feels like a crime.
“And they brought little miss wallflower, too,” Jason lilts with his pretty smile and straight teeth. His blonde hair is a darker shade of brown, damp with half-dried sweat. His lean form is unnaturally built underneath his white tank top and basketball shorts.
It isn’t any wonder why he turned out to be such a raging douchebag.
Someone so perfect needed at least one flaw.
“The gang’s all here, huh?” one of his other friends — Andy, you think — concurs from behind him, always in the boy’s shadow.
“Like what you see, fellas?” Eddie calls out from across the slab of pavement separating the group of you. He’ll never turn down an opportunity to take the piss out of the so-called jocks, all muscle and no brain.
“What do we do when those assholes give us hell?” he’d often ask when you’ve had a particularly shitty day with them. “We give ‘em hell right back.”
Jason’s thin lips curl into a more mischievous smirk. His blue eyes are lighter in the golden sunlight, and they twinkle beneath the neon signs as he looks you up and down. “Yeah, actually,” he hums with his unabashed ogling. “I do.”
Mike’s lanky legs sidestep to stand ahead of you. He does it so swiftly, so instinctually, you don’t think he even really meant to do it. Despite the raven-haired boy halfway covering you, you cross your arms over your torso in a further attempt to keep yourself hidden.
You feel so suddenly exposed in your frilly floral sundress — especially considering the only thing you wear to school is baggy jeans and baggier sweaters. You feel like you might as well be naked standing in front of them just now.
The younger boys stand on high alert as Eddie walks the short distance to Jason. The brief journey is made quicker when the blonde boy strides to meet him halfway. It’s a high school sort of standoff — neither particularly wanting to get physical because the real-life repercussions aren’t worth it. They just want to see who can piss each other off the most.
“She is pretty, isn’t she?” Eddie concedes with a grin, flashing you a brief glance over his shoulder. He turns away quickly at the sight of your wide, pleading eyes. He scrunches his nose in feigned sympathy. “I bet you’re real jealous, huh? Especially now that you’ve got nothing but your right hand keeping you company ever since Chrissy dumped your ass.”
“Watch it,” Jason warns through gritted teeth.
“I think I saw her riding around last week with Harrington, actually.”
The blonde boy’s sneakers scuff against the concrete as he takes a daring step closer. His piercing stare never wavers. “Don’t talk about Chrissy.”
“Don’t talk about my girl, and I won’t talk about yours,” Eddie retorts in lilt. And then, because he can’t help but twist the knife, he tilts his head to his shoulder and continues. “Well, I guess she’s not really yours anymore, is she?”
“I said don’t talk about Chrissy!” Jason repeats, louder than before, when he lets his anger get the best of him. One hand shoots up to shove at Eddie’s chest, using only enough force to make the boy stumble slightly back.
While Dustin, Lucas, and Mike gear up for a fight, Eddie only laughs in response — big, boisterous, and boyish.
You don’t even realize you’re stepping in front of the group until you’re already doing it. The words seem to fly from your mouth without you even thinking about them. “Don’t touch him!” you shout.
And even though it wasn’t particularly loud, it quiets in the mindless bickering all at once. Everyone turns to gape at you — Jason, Andy, Dustin, Eddie. Everyone is equally surprised by your outburst. Because you don’t speak. Ever. At least, not if you can help it.
And it’s not because you don’t have anything to say, because you do. It’s just that your brain works too much, and your mouth can’t keep up with it sometimes. It’s easier just to be silent.
That’s what you’ve been known for ever since you were little. You went through all of it — the bullying, the sad eyes, the talks with teachers, the ‘is everything alright at home’s. Everything was fine, for the most part. Your childhood was equally as middling as everyone else’s. You just had a harder time being human than most people.
Jason smiles again, amused by your warning. “What was that, sweetheart?”
You swallow through a tightening throat. Your sweaty hands clench into balls at your sides. The words come out quieter than before, but no less meaningful. “I said… Don’t touch him.”
“Oh, so she does speak. Here I thought no one ever taught you how to,” the blonde boy laughs. You feel disgusting when his attention settles solely upon you. The lingering sick feeling is eclipsed by your gratitude that Eddie’s no longer in his line of fire. “I’m gonna be honest… I thought you were cuter when you were quiet.”
You don’t know what he means by that. You can’t tell if he’s being genuine, or if he thinks you care enough about what he thinks to slink back into your shell.
“Leave Eddie alone,” you retort drily.
He snorts. “Yeah? Or what?”
There’s a thousand words you want to say. You open your mouth to spit all of them at the boy across from you, but nothing comes out.
“Yeah,” Jason laughs at your silence. “That’s what I thought.”
You stand your ground when he walks towards you. His strides are slow and menacing, like he’s expecting you to back away. You might’ve if you were anywhere else — if Eddie wasn’t a couple feet away and the rest of your friends weren’t crowding behind you. You’re made somehow braver by their presence.
“This is a really cute dress, though, sweetheart,” the blonde boy compliments with a thin smirk. “You should dress like this more often. You know what? You’d really fit in at the strip club downtown— what’s it called?”
“Pink Paradise,” Andy answers without missing a beat.
Jason smacks his lips against his teeth. “That’s the one.”
“Is that the one your mom works at?” you wonder with your arms crossed over your chest. Your head tilts to your shoulder as you squint at him. “Is she still giving those two-for-one discounts?”
Jason’s confidence stutters at your biting reply — even more so by the choked-back laughter accompanying it. Your boys don’t bother to hide their humored giggles, though the basketball team covers theirs by coughing into their fists.
“Ooh. I didn’t know you had such a much on you,” the blonde lilts as his blue eyes narrow. “I’m like… fifty percent more attracted to you now.”
“Leave Eddie alone,” you deadpan once more. “And go be a douchebag somewhere else.”
One of his friends breaks free from the pack. He’s tall, thin, and toned. He’s got the same haircut as Lucas: compact curls, squared off on the sides. You know him — Patrick McKinney. He’s the only one of Jason’s friends that was actually nice to you. Or, at the very least, he wasn’t a total asshole.
“Let’s go, man,” the boy ushers, nudging at Jason’s bicep. “Let’s go shoot some hoops or something. This isn’t worth it.”
You scoff out a laugh. “Oh, please— the only shooting Jason Carver does is into a kleenex. It’s why you were benched all last season.”
“I twisted my ankle!” the blonde boy defends, sounding weak and pathetic beneath the chorus of laughter as Patrick drags him away.
“Whatever helps you sleep at night,” you mutter, perhaps too quiet for him to hear, as Lucas pulls at your forearm to guide you in the other direction. His touch is still gentle — it would be uncharacteristic of him to be rough with you. It would also be a terrible idea with Eddie just a few paces behind the both of you.
The walk to The Palace is a silent one. There’s too much to say, and everyone’s just a little too amazed to say it. Eddie, however, never had a hard time killing a quiet. He rushes on long legs to match your quick strides, reaching you rather easily.
“Hey, hey, hey— you okay, babe?” the worried boy wonders. He takes a gentle hold of your wrists when you reach the awning beneath the arcade. His chocolate gaze flits attentively over your form, nowhere near as leering as Jason had been.
He can tell by your heaving chest and glassy eyes that you’re a little overwhelmed. When he takes your face in his hands, he finds that your cheeks are burning, too.
You nod into his warm palms in silent reply, back in the comfort of your shell all over again.
“What’d you do that for, huh?” Eddie singsongs with a quiet laugh. His thumb dances over your cheekbones as he grins at you. “You know I don’t like you getting involved with those assholes.”
“They dont get to talk to you like that… Or put their hands on you,” you mutter. Despite your soft tone, Eddie can see the fury flashing in your eyes, getting angry about it all over again.
His smile widens — proud and hopelessly in love with you. “No. They don’t. Especially not with my girl around, huh?”
“Nope,” you murmur, popping the p. A sheepish grin pulls at your mouth, equally as proud and in love.
Eddie leans down to kiss you, guiding your mouth to his with the hands cupping your jaw. It’s innocuously chaste, being that you’re still standing in a public parking lot. You could never quite stomach the attention of PDA, anyway. His pink lips lock with yours in a fleeting peck, and his arms wrap around you a second later.
He smothers you into his chest, and you revel in every second of it. He smells like cigarette smoke and the cologne he tried to cover it up with. He smells like a home you could live in forever.
You smile into the thrifted Blondie tee you got him — which he happily accepted because he loves you (even though he hates Blondie). He presses a kiss into your hair and smushes his nose into the crown of it as he laughs.
“‘Is that the one your mom works at?’” Eddie repeats with a soft chuckle, chest swelling with pride once more. “God, babe. That’s good.”
“Shut up…” you murmur.
“I’m serious! I didn’t know you were such a good smack-talker! I think you might be a genius, actually.”
“Don’t,” you grouse with a lighthearted scowl. You pull away from him only slightly — enough for him to put your face back in his hands again. You feel safest there, even if you are pouting up at him.
“You’re so cute,” the boy muses with a beam. His eyes glimmer like a sea of chocolate syrup, melting with all the love he has for you. “You’re like a cinnamon roll. A cinnamon roll that could bite people.”
“That’s exactly what I am,” you monotone and try your best not to smile.
Eddie couldn’t hide his grin if he tried. “And that’s exactly why I love you.”

Hold My Hand | Leah Williamson x Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis: hiding each other was not an option anymore.
warnings: none :)
wc: 1.2k words
As the final whistle blew, the stadium erupted into cheers. You stood amongst the crowd, your still heart racing from those 90 minutes of pure exciting football. Arsenal had just clinched the Championship, a hard-fought victory that left every single fan in the stadium breathless.
The evening sky, a painting deep oranges and purples, and the stadium lights illuminated a bright glow over the players who were celebrating on the pitch, but your eyes were fixed firmly on your girlfriend.
She stood out, even in the chaos, with her blonde ponytail slightly tousled from the game, her kit smeared with dirt and grass, sweat glistening on her forehead, but a wide smile settled on her face. You could see her eyes scanning the crowd, her eyes searching for you. When your gazes meet, a mixture of overwhelming pride and an intense longing to be near her.
She started jogging towards you, weaving through the sea of teammates, staff, and pitch volunteers. The barrier between the stands and the pitch seemed far, but Leah approached it with determined strides. She doesn’t stop to talk to anyone, only granting them a quick nod and smile, otherwise her sole focus was on you. She steps over the barrier, marching over until she is standing right in front of you. The only thing separating the two of you is the metal barrier. You moved closer, fingers wrapping around the cool metal of the railing, your eyes never leaving Leah’s.
For a moment, you simply looked at each other, the noise of the crowd fading into a distant hum. Leah reached out first, her fingers brushing against yours on the barrier.
“You did it, Lee!” You shouted over the noise, your voice breaking slightly with emotion.
“We did it,” Leah replied, her voice strong and clear. “You were with me every step of the way, baby.”
You could feel your heart swell with emotion– pride, relief and happiness all at once. You wanted to climb over the barrier, to close the distance and hold your girlfriend tight, but you knew you couldn’t. The both of you weren’t public, and for a while, you were content for it to stay that way. The raise of Leah’s fame meant that people in her life were often scrutinised and exposed, and the Arsenal defender was adamant that she did not want you to go through that. However, it was during moments like this where you wished you could kiss your girlfriend without worrying about other people’s reactions. It’s times like this when you longed to be able to wear her name on the back of your shirt without people speculating and over analysing every single interaction online.
You settled for squeezing her fingers, trying to convey all the love you felt in that simple touch, desperately holding yourself back from kissing her in front of all of these people who probably already had their phones out.
But Leah surprised you when she leaned over the barrier, pulling you into her for a hug. She wrapped her arms around your waist tightly, burying her face into the crook of your neck. You were frozen for a second before instincts took over and you were folding her in your arms in return. Her breath was warm against your neck and you swear she sneaks a kiss against the spot where your shoulder meets your neck.
You feel her whisper against your skin. “Love you, baby. Thank you for being here”
Turning your head so it lightly grazes her ear, you whisper right back. “Am I a good girlfriend for following you halfway around the world to be here?”
Leah chuckles, her breath warm against your neck. She pulls back slightly until you are seeing eye to eye but she still hasn’t moved her arms away from you. You had no doubt the rumours will start to swirl again. “The best, baby.”
For another moment, you only looked at each other, before Leah breaks the silence. “D’you want to come onto the pitch? Join us for a lap around?”
“But people will talk…”
“Yeah but I don’t care about that– do you?”
“No…”
“Then come on, baby” She makes a ‘come here’ gesture with her hands excitedly, a big smile on her face. You saw the exhilaration, her love, and the silent invitation written all over her face. With a barely perceptible nod, you agreed.
Leah grabs you around the waist, lifting you over the barrier until your feet are touching the hers. You squeeze her bicep in gratitude before she grabs your hand and pulls you towards the small crowd gathered in the middle of the pitch. The team all knew you– and your relationship with Leah– and they’ve done everything they can to keep the speculations off of you, so a few eyebrows raised when they saw you two walking towards them with your hands clasped together. You think you saw Beth nudge Lotte on the arm from your peripheral but you can’t be sure.
“Ya joining us for a lap, darling?” Katie says as she greets you with a hug before she turns to Leah with a grin. “Nice of you to allow us to see her once in a while, skipper!”
Leah just narrows her eyes at the Irish, playfully nudging her away. “Piss off, Katie”
Before you had a chance to join the conversation, Leah was dragging you away by the hand, weaving through the crowd of her teammates until the both of you are towards the front of the group. Aware of the hundreds of eyes around the stadium, you attempt to shake off your girlfriend’s grip but all she does is intertwine your fingers together.
With wide eyes, you tug her hand, leaning close to the blonde beside you. “Lee…what are you doing?”
Blue eyes meet yours, the perfect blend of sky and sea. You swear the colour of her eyes are the prettiest shade of blue you had ever seen. “Holding my girl’s hand.”
“…in front of all these people?”
Her blue eyes were the first thing you noticed when you saw her for the first time. When she was moody, they would darken slightly. Her eyebrows would draw together sharply, forming a deep furrow above the bridge of her nose, casting a shadow that made her eyes appear even more intense. Every time she laughed or smiled, the corners of her eyes would crinkle with amusement, the blues appearing lighter and serene.
When the world feels a too big, and you feel like cowering into your own little corner, Leah was right there beside you. Looking into those eyes granted a feeling of comfort– offering a gentle reassurance that no matter the storm raging outside, you was always home when you were with her. Right now, her gaze was steady and they spoke of quiet strength that promised safety.
From the beginning, you both knew the risks. The media was relentless, especially when they find out that their beloved England captain has a life outside of football, a life they are not privy to. Fans are always hunting for a peek into their favourite footballers’ personal lives and the backlash might be too much. The sad reality is that the world of football is not always kind to those who deviated from their “norm”. However, the alternative—continuing to hide each other—was no longer an option.
As you walk hand in hand around the pitch, you felt that there was an unspoken promise emitting from the girl beside you– a promise that you will be cherished, and that your fears and doubts were safe to share with her.
A squeeze of your hand.
“In front of all of these people.”

Husband Katsuki, who sits with you on the porch swing in the late afternoon, the golden light of the setting sun casting long shadows across the yard. The scent of jasmine fills the air, mingling with the sound of distant laughter from children playing nearby. He wraps a cozy blanket around your shoulders, pulling you close as the evening chill begins to set in. You sip on hot cocoa, marshmallows melting into sweet swirls, and talk about the little moments that made your day special. His arm around you feels like the safest place in the world, and as the first stars begin to appear in the twilight sky, he softly hums a tune that makes you feel like you’re the only two people in the universe.
Husband Izuku, who wakes you gently on lazy Sunday mornings with the smell of freshly brewed coffee and the sound of birds singing outside your window. He brings you breakfast in bed, a tray laden with your favorite pastries, fruits, and a delicate vase holding a single rose. As you share bites of buttery croissant and sip on coffee, you talk about dreams you had the night before and make plans for the day ahead. His fingers trace patterns on your arm as he listens, his eyes full of a love that makes you feel cherished and safe. Later, you both linger in bed, wrapped in the warmth of the morning sun and each other’s embrace, content to let the world outside fade away.
Husband Shouto, who takes you on evening walks along the beach, where the sky blazes with the colors of the setting sun, painting the waves with hues of orange and pink. As you stroll hand in hand, you collect smooth pebbles and seashells, giggling like children whenever you find a particularly beautiful one. You sit together on the sand, watching as the stars begin to twinkle into existence, and he wraps a blanket around your shoulders to keep you warm. His voice is soft and tender as he whispers stories of your future, of a house by the sea and children who run along the shore, their laughter mingling with the sound of the waves. You lean into him, feeling the steady beat of his heart and the promise of a lifetime of such evenings together.
Husband Denki, who plans a cozy movie night at home, the living room transformed into a haven of comfort with soft pillows and warm blankets scattered everywhere. He dims the lights and lights a few scented candles, their flickering flames casting a soft glow. You snuggle together on the couch, sharing a bowl of popcorn and exchanging quiet laughter over inside jokes. As the movie plays, he holds you close, his fingers gently stroking your hair. The outside world fades away, leaving just the two of you in this perfect moment. When the credits roll, you find yourselves talking late into the night, about anything and everything, his voice a soothing melody that lulls you into a peaceful sleep, your head resting on his shoulder.
Husband Eijirou, who dances with you in the living room, the only light coming from the flickering flames in the fireplace, casting a golden glow over everything. The soft strains of a love song fill the room, and he holds you close, your feet moving in a slow, gentle rhythm. His hand rests on the small of your back, and you feel the warmth of his touch seep through your clothes. As the song ends, he pulls back just enough to look into your eyes, his gaze filled with a tenderness that makes your heart ache with love. He presses a kiss to your forehead, murmuring words of devotion, and you know in that moment that this is where you belong—dancing in his arms, forever and always.

The night was a canvas of shadows, with the lonely moon hanging as its only brushstroke of light. A biting breeze whipped through the darkness, and the relentless roar of the waves echoed against the shore, as if the ocean itself refused to rest. Laughter faded into the distance, swallowed by the night, as Logan drifted away, seeking solace in his own isolation.
Once he was far enough from the others, Logan lit his cigar, the soft glow briefly illuminating his face. He settled onto a large rock, just high enough to keep the waves from reaching his feet, and let the quiet of the night envelop him.
His gaze fixed on the horizon, where the ocean seemed to go on forever. The sky is painted dark grey until he saw a flicker of light coming from the middle of the ocean. His eyebrows furrowed together.
That’s odd, he thought.
Logan leaned forward, the cigar in his hand forgotten as he strained to catch every note of the enchanting melody. The music seemed to weave itself into the night, wrapping around him, pulling him closer to the ocean’s edge. He felt a strange compulsion, a pull that was both gentle and irresistible, urging him toward the water.
The light on the horizon grew brighter, pulsating in rhythm with the melody. It was as if the sea itself was calling to him, whispering secrets in a language he had never known but somehow understood. The world around him faded, the sounds of the crashing waves and distant laughter of his friends all but drowned out by the song that filled his ears and heart.
Without realizing it, he had risen to his feet, his legs moving of their own accord, carrying him closer to the shore. The rocks beneath him were cold and slick, but he paid them no mind. All that mattered was the light and the music, drawing him deeper into the night.
As he neared the water’s edge, the melody became clearer, more defined. It was a song of longing, of promises whispered on the wind. Logan’s heart ached with a strange, sweet sorrow, a yearning he couldn’t place. The light now shimmered on the waves, closer than before, beckoning him with its mysterious glow.
And then, she appeared.
Rising gracefully from the depths of the sea, a figure emerged, illuminated by the soft, ethereal light. The siren was unlike anything Logan had ever seen—beautiful, enchanting, and utterly seductive. Her long, flowing hair cascaded like liquid midnight over her bare shoulders, and her eyes, deep and alluring, locked onto his with a gaze that held both danger and desire.
She moved with an otherworldly grace, her voice weaving through the air as she sang, the melody now clearly coming from her lips. Each note seemed to hold him captive, drawing him in further, until he was standing ankle-deep in the water, unable to resist her pull.
The siren reached out to him, her hand hovering just above the water’s surface, beckoning him closer. The cold ocean swirled around his legs, but all Logan felt was a strange, enveloping warmth as he stared into her eyes, utterly entranced. In that moment, the world around him faded—no fear, no hesitation, only the magnetic pull of her presence.
But as their hands were about to touch, the siren suddenly gasped, choking on her own breath. Logan’s hand, which had been reaching for hers, seemed to move with a will of its own, and now it was wrapped tightly around the delicate, shimmering throat of the beautiful creature before him.
“You’re trying to mess with my mind again, aren’t you, fish?” Logan hissed, his voice low and dangerous as his grip tightened around her throat.
Her wide eyes glistened with a mix of surprise and something darker as she struggled against his hold. “How many times do I have to tell you?” he continued, his tone laced with a controlled fury. “Stay out of my head.”
With a final squeeze, he released her, watching as her legs—now human—settled onto the wet, rocky shore beneath them. She coughed, her breath ragged as she fought to regain control, but a mischievous smile soon curled her lips.
“You know I’ll always have my night dip, Logan,” she purred, her voice smooth despite the recent struggle. “It’s the humans who need to control themselves.”
She laughed then, a melodic sound that echoed through the night, her eyes gleaming with a playful challenge as she looked at his unyielding expression. “It’s almost as if you wanted me to draw you in.”
“M’not,” Logan muttered, but his voice lacked conviction, the siren’s laughter reverberating in his ears.
“Oh, but are you?” she teased, her tone dripping with mockery as she probed at the cracks in his carefully constructed walls.
Slowly, she reached for his hand again, this time with a softness that belied her earlier boldness. “Come on, swim with me. Just this once,” she coaxed, one eye winking playfully as she smirked. “I promise, this time it’s real. I’m not going to mess with your head.”
Her words were a vow, spoken with a mischievous grin that betrayed the truth—she was playing her game, but Logan knew better. And yet, despite knowing the risks, he felt himself give in. With a resigned sigh, he pulled away just enough to strip off his clothes, tossing them carelessly aside until he stood before her, bare and unguarded.
“This what you wanted?” he asked, his voice steady but his eyes betraying the wariness underneath.
Her smirk widened, satisfaction gleaming in her gaze as she took in the sight of him. “Perfect,” she murmured, the word slipping from her lips like a promise, as the waves whispered at their feet, the night drawing them both into its depths.
She reached for his hands once more, and this time, Logan didn’t resist. He allowed her touch, her fingers cool and delicate against his. With a coy smile, she began to step backward, gently pulling him with her, further and further into the dark embrace of the ocean.
The cold water climbed higher as they moved deeper, the chill biting at his skin, but Logan felt a strange warmth radiating from her touch, keeping him anchored to her. With each step, the waves lapped at their bodies, until they were both submerged in the icy depths.
As the water enveloped them, the siren’s legs shimmered, transforming before his eyes. What was once human flesh became a beautiful, dark blue tail, its scales glinting faintly in the moonlight. The transformation was seamless, mesmerizing, as if the ocean itself had claimed her once again.
She flicked her tail lightly, the movement graceful and fluid, sending ripples through the water as she held his gaze. The cold, the danger, everything faded into the background. All that remained was her—mysterious, enchanting, and impossibly close.
Logan was amazed. He had never seen anything more beautiful than the vision before him, you floating effortlessly in the water, your dark blue tail shimmering like a jewel beneath the surface.
You inched closer, your breath warm against his ear as you whispered, "Close your eyes." Logan hesitated, unease flickering in his gaze, but something in your voice, in the way you looked at him, made him decide to trust you. After a moment, he let his eyes slowly drift shut, surrendering to the unknown.
A soft breath escaped your lips, brushing against his skin as you granted him the magic of your powers. The change was almost imperceptible, a gentle tingling that spread through him, filling him with a sense of calm and something more—something ancient and powerful.
"Now, open your eyes," you whispered, your voice like a melody woven into the wind. Logan obeyed, his eyes fluttering open to a world transformed. Everything seemed sharper, more vivid, as if he were seeing the ocean for the first time.
You gave him a knowing smile before slipping beneath the surface, your tail flicking gracefully as you began to descend into the depths. Without hesitation, Logan followed, plunging into the cold embrace of the water, drawn into the mysterious world that awaited below.
As Logan plunged beneath the surface, he expected darkness—a murky, cold abyss. But instead, the world around him came alive with vibrant light and color. The magic you had gifted him transformed the ocean into a realm of wonders he had never imagined.
The water, once dark and foreboding, now shimmered with an otherworldly glow. Schools of fish darted around him, their scales reflecting hues of turquoise, emerald, and gold. Coral formations, illuminated by a soft, ethereal light, stretched out like underwater forests, each structure more intricate and beautiful than the last. Logan felt as though he had stepped into a dream, a hidden world that only a few were ever privileged to see.
He swam deeper, following your graceful form as you glided effortlessly through the water, your tail shimmering like a beacon guiding him onward. The deeper they went, the more the ocean revealed its secrets. Strange, luminous creatures drifted by, their bodies pulsing with light, while the distant echoes of the sea created a symphony that filled the silence.
Logan’s senses were heightened, every detail sharper and more vivid than he could have ever imagined. He could feel the gentle currents caressing his skin, the pressure of the water embracing him, the rhythm of the ocean syncing with his heartbeat.
You paused and turned to him, your eyes reflecting the wonder of this underwater world, as if inviting him to share in the magic. Logan met your gaze, a sense of awe and gratitude welling up inside him. He had been drawn into the depths, but now, instead of fear, he felt an overwhelming connection to the ocean and to you, the one who had opened this new reality to him.
And there you are standing in front of him, enchantingly beautiful. Your perky full rounded tits, your sharp shoulders, your wide hips. All of a sudden, he yearns to lay those war-fought hands upon your magnetic body.
You smirked, a playful glint in your eyes as you swam closer to him. Logan watched you, mesmerized by your every movement. When your hands gently wrapped around his neck, his breath hitched, the connection between you two deepening with every passing second. Your fingers traced upward, caressing his skin, until your thumb softly grazed his bottom lip, sending a shiver through him.
Without hesitation, you closed the distance, your lips meeting his in a kiss that felt like it could drown the world. The water around you seemed to still, the ocean itself holding its breath as you shared this moment. The kiss was tender yet intense, filled with the same magic that had transformed the depths into a world of wonder.
Then, as suddenly as the kiss began, the world around you shifted. The weightless sensation of the water was replaced by the solid feel of land beneath your feet. You were no longer in the ocean’s embrace but back on the shore, the waves gently lapping at the sand nearby.
Logan blinked in surprise, still feeling the warmth of your lips on his, the taste of saltwater lingering. The transition from the depths to the surface was disorienting, but the connection between you remained unbroken. You stood before him, the night air cool against your skin, your eyes still holding that knowing, playful glint.
Logan regained control of the heated moment, his instincts taking over as he flipped you onto your back, the soft sand cushioning your bare skin. Hovering above you, he reluctantly pulled away from the kiss, his breath ragged as he tried to steady himself. For a brief moment, he just watched you, searching your eyes for any sign of hesitation or doubt.
But all he saw was that damn smirk, the one that drove him wild.
"I'm not doing anything, Logan," you taunted, your voice a teasing whisper that sent a thrill down his spine. "It's your own hands that want to touch me."
You leaned upward, closing the space between you, your lips hovering just inches from his. The challenge in your eyes was unmistakable, daring him to take what he wanted, knowing full well that you had already captured his desire.
Logan growled before he roughly shove his lips against yours, pushing you back against the ground as his wandering hands begin to wonder around your body. Groping your tits roughly, earning a soft moan from you. You don't want to be useless, you let one hand find its way to his stomach before it lingers down towards the package that you're searching for.
Logan groaned once he feels your cold palm, wrapped around his raging-hard cock. He looks down to your lower body and noticed that your legs are still hidden away, your tail displayed upon him.
"You have two options, kid. Either you change them into that sexy, strong, legs of yours so I could fuck and cum deep inside your pussy. Or, I could just use your mouth and cums down your throat. Which ever do you want?"

The dawn breaks cold over the snows of Winterfell, the grey skies above washed with the soft glow of morning light. The wind bites as it always does here, the chill sinking into your bones, but the cold is a familiar thing now—a companion as much as the warm hearths of the castle.
You stand in the courtyard, fingers brushing the fur-lined cloak clasped around your throat, its rich purple hue a striking contrast against the white and grey that surround you. Before you, Thraxata rests on the rocky grounds, her dark form like a living shadow, the light catching the violet tinge of her wings and eyes. The Midnight Fury lets out a low rumble, sensing your turmoil beneath the surface of your calm.
You’ve only been in Winterfell for little over a few months, barely enough time to know the castle’s halls as well as you know the sea air of Driftmark or the windswept cliffs of Dragonstone. The banners of House Stark flutter above you, their direwolf sigil snapping sharply in the wind. And it is there, beneath those banners, that Cregan stands, his usual stern expression softened, just for you.
It is an expression reserved solely for you now—a tenderness that you’ve learned is a rarity in the Lord of Winterfell. He has been a quiet husband, brooding, and with a presence like the mountains of the North, immovable and imposing. But the bond forged in this marriage, though brief, has grown into something more than alliance, more than duty. In those rare moments away from watchful eyes, you’ve seen the warmth that hides beneath his solemn exterior.
Cregan’s hand lingers on yours, rough from sword work and the cold, but it’s a warmth you’ve come to crave. He steps closer, his breath visible in the chill air, as he speaks, voice low and rumbling, like the deep growl of a direwolf. “Must you go so soon, Y/N? It was only a few weeks ago that you came into my hall as my wife, and now the sky calls you away.”
You look up at him, the violet of your eyes meeting the ice-grey of his. In that moment, you feel the weight of duty pressing down upon you—the call of blood, of family, and the loss that tears at your heart. “I must,” you reply, your voice steady, though beneath it, grief stirs. “Luke was my brother, and I cannot be absent when my family gathers in mourning.”
His thumb brushes over your knuckles, a gesture so gentle it belies the fierce warrior he is. “I understand, but it doesn’t sit right, you flying into war’s shadow. The storm is coming, and it would see you harmed. There’s no peace at Dragonstone.”
You shake your head softly, lips curving into a small, bittersweet smile. “Thraxata and I have faced storms before. But I promise, I will return. This is not a farewell of uncertainty, Cregan. It’s but a temporary parting.”
Cregan’s jaw tightens, but you see the conflict in his eyes—the clash between the duty that binds him as Lord of Winterfell and the worry that gnaws at him as your husband. He’s never voiced it openly, but you’ve come to know his unspoken thoughts in the lines that deepen between his brows and the way his hand hovers close when you speak of leaving. You reach up, cupping his face with your free hand, your thumb tracing the line of his cheekbone. He leans into your touch, and there’s a softness in his gaze, something raw and open that he only shows in these moments alone with you.
“I would not be parted from you if the choice was mine,” he murmurs, his voice low, a rumble that echoes in your chest. “But you are who you are—a dragon, a daughter of Rhaenyra. The North will be colder without you.”
The words hang between you, heavy with the weight of unsaid things. But you do not shy away from the truth of them. You were born of fire, bound to flame and fury as much as blood and bone. Yet here in the cold, you’ve found something unexpected—a hearth that’s begun to feel like home.
You close the distance, pressing your forehead against his, drawing in the scent of pine and frost that clings to him. “And I’ll return to it,” you whisper, your voice carrying the promise that neither distance nor war will break what has begun to grow between you. “To you.”
He kisses you then, slow and deliberate, a kiss that is both a plea and a vow. His hand tightens around your waist, holding you close, as if trying to memorize the feel of you in his arms before you’re gone. You let yourself be lost in it for a moment, savoring the warmth that lingers in the cold air.
When you part, there’s something in Cregan’s eyes—a mixture of pride and sadness. He steps back, letting his hand slip from yours, but not before he speaks one last time. “When you return, you’ll find the hearth burning for you. Winterfell will wait. I’ll wait.”
With a final look, you nod, feeling the sting of tears that you refuse to let fall. “Keep it burning,” you say softly, before turning to Thraxata, who watches the exchange with the keen intelligence of dragons. She lowers her head, allowing you to mount, her scales like polished obsidian beneath your fingers.
As Thraxata’s wings unfurl, casting a dark shadow over the courtyard, you glance back one last time. Cregan stands there, his dark cloak billowing in the wind, a solitary figure against the snow. His expression is unreadable, but you carry the memory of his touch, his words, with you as the dragon’s powerful wings lift you into the sky.
The cold air rushes past you, but it’s the warmth of Winterfell—and of the man who waits there—that you hold close to your heart as you soar southward to meet the darkness ahead.

The hall of Winterfell is filled with the murmuring voices of the gathered lords and bannermen, their breath visible in the cold air. Torches line the walls, casting flickering light upon fur-clad figures as they gather around the long oak table. The banners of the Stark direwolf hang heavy above, swaying slightly in the draft. Cregan Stark stands at the head of the table, his expression carved from stone, his eyes hard and glacial as he looks upon the assembled men.
You are absent from this gathering—still on your way south to Dragonstone to mourn your brother, Prince Lucerys, whose death now looms over all like a shadow. But your presence is keenly felt, your name on every tongue, your sorrow a silent echo in the hall. The news of Aemond Targaryen’s treachery has reached the North, and it is received as bitterly as the cold winds that howl outside. A child, a prince of the realm, slain in cold blood by his own kin. Kinslaying—an act so vile that even the hardiest northern lord recoils at its mention.
Cregan grips the edge of the table, his knuckles whitening. His mind is torn between the duty he owes to the North and the fury that burns within him for what has been done to you, his wife. He remembers the strength in your eyes when you left, the unspoken grief beneath your calm facade. And though he must focus on the matters of his own realm, his thoughts stray constantly to the hurt you must be carrying.
“Lord Stark,” booms Lord Manderly, his ample form casting a broad shadow as he leans forward. “This act is more than just a family quarrel among the dragons. A kinslayer has been made, and that is a curse not easily forgotten. If the Targaryens devour each other, what hope is there for the realm?”
A murmur of agreement runs through the gathered lords. Lord Glover, always stern, nods. “The kinslaying is grievous enough, but it is also an assault against the Queen herself. It is an attack on your Lady’s family, my lord. An insult to Winterfell, by extension.”
Cregan’s eyes flash at those words, his temper barely kept in check. “I am well aware, Lord Glover,” he says in a low, controlled voice, “of what this means. Blood calls for blood. But the North has always moved with caution and purpose. We are not so hasty to spill our own sons’ lives without cause.”
“Yet the cause is here,” interrupts Lord Umber, his rough voice a growl. “Your lady wife’s kin have been murdered. If we are to send men to fight, let it be known that we do so not just for Rhaenyra’s claim, but for vengeance.”
Cregan straightens, his gaze sweeping over his bannermen. “Vengeance, aye. But not just vengeance. The North remembers, and it will act, but not recklessly. The long night draws near, and the Wall needs our attention. Yet, the bonds forged in this marriage cannot be ignored.”
There is a pause, the hall falling silent as the implications of his words settle in. It is clear that while Cregan’s loyalty to you is unshakable, he is not a man who would send his forces south in blind rage. His duty is first to the North—to the defense against what lies beyond the Wall, to the people who have looked to House Stark for protection for generations.
Still, it is not just caution that guides him. His heart burns with compassion for you—a quiet, smoldering fury that those close to him can sense. He would see your pain avenged, but he must tread carefully.
Finally, it is Lord Flint who speaks, his voice steady and measured. “Winter comes, Lord Stark. And we know that our strength must be held here. But perhaps there is a middle ground. If some of us were to march south—those with the numbers to spare, with Greybeards among them—we could lend strength to the Queen’s cause while Winterfell maintains its vigil.”
Cregan considers this, his gaze far away as he weighs the options. He knows that you would not ask him to risk all of Winterfell’s forces for the sake of your vengeance alone. You would be pragmatic, as he must be. Yet the thought of standing idle while you suffer is galling to him.
He nods slowly. “Aye, Lord Flint speaks wisely. Winterfell will not abandon its duty to the Wall, but those who wish to march south may do so, under their own banners. I will send word to my wife—to your lady—and let her know that the North remembers. That even in her sorrow, she is not without allies.”
There are murmurs of approval among the lords, and a few already begin to speak among themselves, calculating how many men they might spare without weakening their own holds.
Lord Manderly speaks again, his tone firm. “House Manderly will send a contingent south. The sea may be in our blood, but this crime cannot be ignored. The Queen’s cause is righteous, and so is the fury of House Tagaryen.”
Lord Umber pounds a fist on the table, nodding in agreement. “The Last Hearth will send men as well. We’ve no love for treachery, and even less for kinslayers. This is about more than crowns—it’s about honor.”
Cregan’s eyes meet those of each lord who pledges their men. There is a grim satisfaction in seeing that, even in the cold North, the bonds of family and justice still hold strong.
“Then it’s settled,” he declares. “Let those who march south do so with the blessings of House Stark. But remember this—Winterfell stands prepared for what comes from beyond the Wall. If the shadows of war reach us here, we will be ready.”
The lords nod in agreement, though the tension lingers in the air. They know the risks—they know that winter is coming, and with it, dangers far beyond the ambitions of men and crowns. But they also know that the North cannot forget the bonds it has forged, nor the blood that has been spilled.
As the meeting concludes, Cregan allows himself a moment of solitude, stepping away from the table to stare out at the snow-covered landscape beyond the walls. The wind howls, a distant wolf’s cry echoing in the cold. His heart aches with the knowledge that, despite all his power and influence, he cannot be at your side in your time of need. But he takes comfort in one thing—he has not left you without support. The North may not march as a united host, but its fury will be felt in the South.
And when you return, he will be here, ready to embrace you in the warmth of Winterfell’s hearth once more.

The skies over Dragonstone are a brooding grey, heavy with the promise of rain. The sea crashes against the cliffs below, its restless fury echoing the turmoil within your heart. Two weeks have passed since you arrived, and the sorrow that clings to the ancient castle is a weight you can’t shake off. The empty funeral pyre stands as a cruel reminder—no body was found, only the wing of Arrax, torn and bloodied from the storm and the jaws of Vhagar. The flames of mourning have burned out, leaving only ashes, but the grief remains, raw and relentless.
You’ve spent these days in close company with your family. The halls are filled with the whispered laments of your brothers, the silent agony of your mother, and the grim determination of those still loyal to her cause. The loss of Luke, your sweet brother, is like an open wound for all of you. He was more than a prince; he was a boy who brought laughter to darkened halls, a boy who carried innocence even in these dark times.
After dinner in the great hall, where the silence is thick and every shared glance carries the weight of unspoken grief, your grandmother, Rhaenys, catches your eye. The Queen Who Never Was stands with the posture of a warrior and the gaze of someone who’s known too much loss. She gestures subtly with a nod, beckoning you to follow her down one of Dragonstone’s many winding corridors.
The stones beneath your feet are cold as you walk beside her, the torchlight flickering across the walls, casting shadows that dance like memories. Rhaenys is quiet at first, as if considering how to broach the subject. When she finally speaks, her voice is soft, but there’s a steel edge to it.
“How fares the North, child? Does it suit you as your new home?”
You swallow, thinking of Winterfell’s harsh beauty, the endless snowdrifts, the quiet strength of its people. “It is…different from what I’ve known,” you admit. “The cold never truly leaves, but it’s a place of honor and loyalty. The people are as strong as the land itself.”
Rhaenys nods, her violet eyes assessing you, searching for more than just the surface of your words. “And Cregan Stark? Is he the man they say he is?”
There’s a hint of a smile at the corner of your lips as you think of your husband—the Lord of Winterfell, who stands like a mountain against all storms. “He is as the North itself, unyielding and fierce. But with me…he’s been kind. Patient, even. There is warmth beneath all that ice.”
A flicker of approval crosses Rhaenys’ face. “Good. You’ll need that warmth in the days to come. You may find that love, when forged in fire and ice, is the strongest bond of all.” Her expression grows more solemn as she continues. “But be wary, Y/N. The North remembers its own ways, its own needs. You are a daughter of House Velaryon, of House Targaryen. Never forget where your blood runs from. Loyalty can be a fickle thing in times of war.”
You meet her gaze, the weight of her words sinking in. “I haven’t forgotten,” you say softly. “But Cregan’s loyalty is something even Aegon’s throne cannot easily sway. He knows what it means to be bound by honor.”
Before Rhaenys can respond, Maester Gerardys approaches, the hem of his robe sweeping the floor. He bows his head respectfully, though his eyes dart between you and your grandmother with urgency. “Princess Y/N, Princess Rhaenys—there is a message. A raven has arrived from Winterfell.”
Your breath catches. You excuse yourself from Rhaenys’ side, following the maester back to the main hall where your mother stands by the hearth. Rhaenyra’s silver hair gleams in the firelight, her face gaunt with grief, yet there is a fierceness in her eyes that has not dimmed. She holds the message in one hand, the seal of House Stark already broken. When she sees you approach, she reaches out, pressing the parchment into your hands.
“Read it, daughter,” she says, her voice steady but laced with both concern and curiosity.
Your fingers tremble as you unroll the parchment, the familiar script of your husband’s hand meeting your eyes. The message is concise, yet filled with the careful words that only someone like Cregan would choose.
Y/N,
The North stirs with news of the South’s turmoil. I have gathered my bannermen and consulted with those who would act in your family’s interest. We cannot forget the crime done to Prince Lucerys—nor can we ignore what it means for the realm. My duty to the Wall remains my first concern, but know this: the North remembers, and those who march south do so with the fire of retribution in their hearts. Men loyal to House Stark, and thus to you, will fight in your name and the name of your kin. They may march under banners of their own, but their cause is now bound to yours. You are not alone in this war, Y/N.
Winter awaits your return, as do I. Until then, keep your heart strong and your resolve firm. The fire you carry is your strength.
Cregan Stark.
You feel Rhaenyra’s presence beside you as she reads over your shoulder. When you finish, you let out a breath you didn’t realize you’d been holding. Your mother’s hand rests on your arm, a rare show of tenderness from a woman whose heart has been hardened by betrayal and loss.
“He stands with us, then,” she says softly, and there’s a glimmer of relief in her tone. “This is more than we could have hoped for. The North’s support may be scattered, but it is unwavering.”
You nod, your eyes still fixed on the words. “He would be here himself if he could, but he’s bound by his duties. Still, he’s sent men. Greybeards, like he first promised. It’s more than I expected.”
Rhaenyra turns to face you fully, her expression serious yet tinged with something that almost resembles pride. “You’ve done well, Y/N. You’ve secured the loyalty of the North in a way few could have. Your marriage to Cregan was not just a political move—it has borne fruit in ways that will serve us well in the coming storm.”
But beneath her praise, you can sense her worry. She knows, as you do, that even with the North’s aid, the path ahead is treacherous. War is on your doorstep, and the bonds you’ve forged, however strong, will be tested by fire and blood.
For a moment, the two of you stand in silence, the weight of the message sinking in. You clutch the parchment tightly, drawing strength from the thought of Cregan’s words—the thought of his presence, waiting for you in the cold, far away.
“Mother,” you begin, breaking the silence, “what of the others? What news from King’s Landing, from Aemond and Vhagar?”
Rhaenyra’s gaze hardens at the mention of your uncle’s name, her hand tightening on the mantle draped over her shoulders. “The time for that reckoning is near. We will strike when the time is right, but not without careful planning. The North is readying itself, and so must we.”
You nod, but in your heart, you know this war is as much personal as it is political. Aemond’s cruelty took your brother from you, and though your rage is tempered by grief, it burns no less fiercely. Yet you also carry the strength of the North within you now—the resilience of Winterfell, of Cregan. It gives you a sense of purpose, a resolve that steadies you even as the world seems to be falling apart.
You fold the letter carefully, tucking it close to your heart. “Then let us be ready,” you say quietly, lifting your gaze to meet your mother’s determined eyes. “For Lucerys. For what was taken from us.”
Rhaenyra’s expression softens briefly as she places a hand on your cheek. “For him,” she echoes, her voice filled with a quiet, shared pain. “And for you, Y/N. We will not let his death be in vain.”
In that moment, you stand together not just as mother and daughter, but as two women who know that fire and blood are the legacies you must uphold. And as you stare into the flames of the hearth, you feel the cold resolve of the North settling within your soul, steel mingling with the fire that has always burned there. Winter may come, but you will meet it with the fury of both ice and flame.
Tumblr media
The walls of Winterfell loom high and ancient as you approach, the familiar grey stones standing steadfast against the biting winds. Snowflakes dance in the air, swirling in graceful arcs as they settle upon the battlements and courtyards below. Thraxata’s wings beat powerfully as she circles above the castle, her obsidian-black scales almost indistinguishable from the sky darkening with twilight. Despite the cold, a warmth stirs within your chest—a feeling you never thought you’d associate with this harsh and unforgiving place. You’re home, in a sense.
As Thraxata lands, sending gusts of snow swirling around her massive form, you see Cregan waiting in the courtyard, flanked by several Stark men, their heavy furs braced against the chill. Even from this distance, you can see the tension ease from his posture as his eyes meet yours. He steps forward as you dismount, the snow crunching under his boots. His usual stoic expression softens into a small, almost imperceptible smile—one reserved only for you.
You approach him, your boots leaving prints in the snow, and his hand extends toward yours. When your fingers meet, it’s like the ice and fire within you blend—opposites that somehow, in some strange way, feel whole together.
“Welcome home,” he murmurs, his deep voice rumbling with genuine warmth. His grey eyes search yours, as if making sure that the burden of grief has not completely consumed you. There is a depth to his gaze that reassures you more than any words could.
You squeeze his hand in return, feeling the roughness of calluses beneath your fingers. “It’s good to be back, truly,” you reply, and you mean it. “Winterfell has become a comfort I did not expect to miss.”
Cregan’s brow lifts, a glint of amusement in his eyes. “A comfort? The North must truly have claimed you if you find solace in snow and stone.”
You laugh softly, a sound that seems almost out of place in the cold, but it’s genuine. “It’s more than the snow and stone,” you say, your gaze lingering on his face, and you see the understanding dawn in his eyes.
His smile widens ever so slightly before he steps aside, gesturing toward the main hall. “Come, we’ve prepared a small feast in your honor. The hall is warmer than it’s been in days—something special for the Lady of Winterfell’s return.”
You let him guide you inside, where the air is indeed warmer, thick with the scent of roasting meat, fresh bread, and spiced wine. The long tables are laden with hearty dishes—steaming stews, roasted game, platters of fruit, and loaves of dark bread. The torches burn brighter tonight, their light reflecting off the stone walls, giving the usually solemn hall an unexpected coziness.
The Stark banners hang proudly from the rafters, and though the gathering is modest by southern standards, there is a sincerity in it that touches you. The lords and ladies of Winterfell, those sworn to the Stark name, rise to greet you as you enter. Cregan remains at your side, his presence steady, a quiet strength that grounds you amidst the swirling emotions of being home.
As you take your place beside him at the high table, a chorus of toasts begins—voices raised in welcome, in honor of your return. It’s clear that Cregan has gone to great lengths to make this night special for you, despite the shadow of grief that lingers from your time in Dragonstone.
You find yourself smiling as you listen to the familiar voices around you, but it’s when the first course is served that you lean closer to Cregan, your voice low so only he can hear. “Thank you, Cregan,” you say earnestly, the words weighted with more than just gratitude for the feast. “For everything. For the support you gave my family in the face of such loss, and for the care you’ve shown me through all of this. I know the North has its own burdens, yet you still chose to act.”
Cregan’s expression softens, and he takes a moment before responding, as if carefully choosing his words. “You are my wife, Y/N. My loyalty is to the North, but it is also to you. The loss of your brother is something no one should bear alone, least of all you. I swore to stand with you, and that means more than just words. It means action when needed.”
You feel a swell of affection in your chest—a warmth that pushes back against the cold edges of grief that have clung to you since Lucerys’ death. “Still,” you continue, your voice softer, “it’s more than duty, isn’t it? You’ve done more than your role requires, and I don’t take that lightly.”
Cregan’s gaze holds yours, and for a moment, you see the vulnerability beneath his icy exterior—the man who, despite his formidable reputation, is not immune to the complexities of what has grown between you. “It is more than duty,” he agrees, his voice equally quiet. “It is…respect. And perhaps more, though I’m not a man skilled in speaking of such things.” There’s a hint of self-deprecation in his tone, a rare touch of humor that only surfaces in these private moments.
You can’t help the smile that tugs at your lips. “I’ve come to appreciate that about you, Cregan. You may not say much, but when you do, it matters.”
Before he can respond, the doors to the hall open again, and more guests arrive, bringing with them fresh conversation and distraction. You settle into the evening, sharing in the food and drink, but always returning your attention to Cregan, who seems just as content to let the feast unfold around you while keeping you within his orbit.
Later, as the night deepens and the feasting turns more boisterous, songs rise from the tables. The lords and ladies of the North sing in rough but hearty voices, the tunes woven with tales of battles and the harsh beauty of winter. You watch as Cregan joins in, his deep voice carrying through the hall with surprising resonance. There is a joy in him tonight, a rare and unguarded happiness that spreads to those around him.
You lean back in your seat, a goblet of mulled wine in your hand, and watch the scene before you—Winterfell’s great hall alive with laughter, warmth, and the camaraderie of people who have long understood that even in the face of cold and hardship, there is room for celebration.
At one point, Cregan’s gaze finds yours across the table, and you exchange a wordless understanding—a recognition that despite the differences in where you were raised and the paths that brought you here, you are bound not just by duty, but by something deeper. Something that grows in the spaces between shared glances, quiet conversations, and the trust you’ve built, forged stronger by every test you’ve faced together.
As the feast winds down and guests begin to retire for the night, Cregan turns to you, offering his hand. “Walk with me?” he asks, his voice still carrying the rumble of warmth from the night’s merriment.
You take his hand without hesitation, and he leads you out of the hall, into the cold embrace of the night. The snow crunches beneath your boots as you walk side by side through the courtyard. The stars above are sharp and clear, untouched by southern clouds, and the wind sings softly through the trees beyond the walls.
“I’ve missed this,” you admit, breathing in the crisp air. “The quiet moments. The North may be cold, but there’s a certain peace here.”
Cregan’s grip tightens on your hand, and when he speaks, there is a hint of vulnerability in his voice, as if admitting something long held close. “I’ve missed it too—having you here. The castle hasn’t felt the same without you. Even the wild animals seemed restless. They grew accustomed to your dragon. Thraxata keeps other dangers at bay.”
You smile at that, imagining wolves and deers pacing in your absence somewhere in the forest. “Then it’s a good thing I’m back. Winterfell doesn’t seem so forbidding when you have people who care.”
He stops, turning to face you fully, the snow swirling gently around you both. “And you, Y/N? Do you feel the same?”
You reach up, cupping his cheek, feeling the warmth of his skin beneath your touch despite the chill in the air. “I do, Cregan. I truly do.”
In that moment, with the snow falling around you and the distant sounds of Winterfell settling for the night, you realize that what you’ve found here is more than just an alliance—it’s a place where you can find strength, solace, and, perhaps most importantly, love. You lean in and kiss him, your lips brushing softly against his, and he returns it with a tenderness that speaks of everything words cannot convey.
When you pull back, his eyes hold yours with a promise—unspoken but understood—that whatever the future holds, whether it’s war, loss, or winter’s deepest cold, you will face it as one.
Hand in hand, you return to the warmth of Winterfell, the night closing in around you, but the fire you’ve both kindled together burning ever brighter.

As you and Cregan enter your chambers, the warmth from the hearth greets you, a shivering contrast to the icy air outside. The soft glow of firelight dances across the stone walls, casting shadows that sway and flicker. The door closes behind you with a heavy thud, sealing off the world beyond these intimate quarters. The quiet hum of the castle fades away, leaving only the crackling of the fire and the sound of your breaths, which seem louder now, filled with anticipation.
Cregan’s hand remains in yours, but there’s an urgency in the way his fingers tighten around yours. He steps closer, towering over you with that rugged strength that you’ve grown so accustomed to. Yet, there’s something different tonight—a hunger, a need that’s been simmering since the moment you returned. His eyes lock onto yours, filled with a deep intensity, and before either of you can say a word, his lips are on yours.
The kiss is fierce, demanding, filled with the pent-up longing of weeks spent apart. You respond in kind, matching his eagerness as your fingers tangle in the fur lining his cloak. The taste of spiced wine lingers on his lips, and his scent—earthy, tinged with pine and smoke—envelops you, grounding you in the moment. Your movements grow more frantic as the kiss deepens, your bodies pressing closer together, as if trying to make up for every second lost in separation.
Cregan’s hands move to your waist, tugging at the layers of your attire with an impatience that’s both surprising and thrilling. “I missed this,” he murmurs against your lips, his voice low and strained with desire. “Missed you—missed your warmth.”
A soft gasp escapes you as his hands slip beneath your furs, finding the fastenings of your gown and working quickly to undo them. You feel the cool air brush against your skin as your dress loosens, sliding down your shoulders. “Then take it, Cregan,” you breathe, your own fingers deftly working to undo the ties of his tunic, eager to feel the heat of his skin against yours. “I’m here now.”
Your clothes fall away in a hurried tangle, your hands roaming over each other’s bodies with a desperate need. There’s no gentleness in your touches tonight, only the shared hunger that’s been building ever since you parted. Cregan’s tunic drops to the floor, revealing the hard lines of his chest, muscles honed by the rigors of the North. You let your hands trace over him, savoring the feeling of his strength, the way he shudders slightly under your touch.
With a growl low in his throat, he lifts you effortlessly, and you wrap your legs around his waist as he carries you toward the bed. Your lips never leave his, and the kiss grows more frantic, more heated, until he lowers you onto the furs. The bed is soft beneath you, the familiar scent of wolf pelts mingling with the crisp scent of winter air that still clings to him.
Cregan pauses for just a moment, his eyes raking over you, darkened with desire. “Gods, you’re beautiful,” he murmurs, his voice rough with need. There’s an almost reverent quality to his gaze, but it’s quickly consumed by hunger as he lowers himself over you, capturing your lips again with a fervor that sends heat pooling low in your belly.
Your hands slide up his back, pulling him closer, and you feel the weight of him pressing down on you—a delicious pressure that makes you arch up against him. His lips leave yours to trail down your neck, leaving a path of burning kisses along your collarbone, each one sending sparks of pleasure through you. You tilt your head back, giving him more access as your fingers curl in his dark hair, tugging gently as he nips at your skin.
But you don’t want slow tonight. You want him—all of him, now.
“Cregan,” you whisper, your voice thick with desire as you tug him closer, your hips pressing up against his in invitation. “Please.”
He answers your plea without hesitation. His hands slide down to grip your hips, positioning you beneath him as he moves between your thighs. The anticipation sends a shiver through you, but it’s quickly drowned out by the rush of pleasure as he finally enters you. Both of you gasp at the sensation—the familiar stretch, the way your bodies seem to fit together as if they were made for this.
The pace is quick, urgent, driven by the need to feel each other, to reclaim what was lost in your time apart. His movements are powerful, his thrusts deep and unrelenting, but there’s a tenderness woven into the raw passion—a care that reminds you this is more than just desire. It’s need, yes, but it’s also comfort, affection, something deeper that you’ve both come to rely on.
Your breaths mingle in the space between you as you find your rhythm together, your bodies moving in perfect sync. Each thrust sends a wave of pleasure coursing through you, building with every movement, every gasp and moan that escapes your lips. The heat coils tighter in your core, fueled by the rough sound of Cregan’s breath in your ear, the low growl in his throat as he murmurs your name, over and over, like a prayer.
“Y/N,” he groans, his voice ragged as his movements quicken, his grip on your hips tightening. “Gods, I missed this—missed you. No one else, nothing else, could ever feel like this.”
Your fingers dig into his shoulders, holding him closer as the pleasure crests, your own voice breaking as you whisper, “I missed you too. Needed this—needed you.”
The words hang between you, a confession that means more than just the physical connection. It’s the bond you’ve forged, stronger now for everything you’ve faced. You cling to each other as the tension builds, the pleasure reaching a fever pitch. The room is filled with nothing but the sounds of your shared need—skin on skin, the rough gasps of breath, the whispered names.
And then it shatters.
Your release crashes over you, drawing a cry from your lips as your body trembles beneath him, the pleasure overwhelming in its intensity. Cregan follows moments later, his groan deep and guttural as he buries himself in you, his body tensing before he finally surrenders to the waves of bliss that take him.
For a few moments, the world is nothing but warmth and satisfaction, the tension ebbing away like the last breath of a dying storm. Cregan remains above you, his forehead resting against yours as you both catch your breath. His weight is a comfort, grounding you, reminding you that despite everything—despite the grief, the war looming on the horizon—you have this.
You have him.
Eventually, he rolls to the side, pulling you with him, his arms wrapping around you as you settle against his chest. The fire crackles in the hearth, its light casting a soft glow over the room, but it’s the steady thrum of his heartbeat beneath your cheek that lulls you into a peaceful calm.
He presses a kiss to your temple, his voice a quiet rumble in the darkness. “You’re home now,” he says, and there’s something so tender in the way he says it that your heart swells.
You look up at him, your fingers tracing lazy patterns over his chest. “Yes, I am,” you reply softly, and you mean it. For all the cold and the hardship, there is warmth here—warmth in his arms, in the way he looks at you, in the life you’ve begun to build together.
