Cater could hear his parents going back and forth in the kitchen for maybe the third or fourth time this week, as it had been....the third or fourth time his mother had tried to shoot a baking video with him in it. His sisters segments had gone off without a hitch, apparently, but his mother kept stop and going when he was involved to make sure the way he looked was "perfect" according to her standards. He tried to block out the yells from the other room, his ears folding back against his head as he brought four of his nine tails to snuggle into, in front of him. While he wasn't a fan of the shooting process, or the way his mom made him shapeshift his face or body to fit her demands, he loved sitting with her once the video went up and watching as views and likes and comments would start pouring in. The feeling was....maybe the only good thing he got to have. Which is why he took it upon himself to find that feeling again whenever he felt upset. He sat up a little, looking for his phone as he used his tail to wipe at his eyes, sniffling a bit. It only took a moment to locate it, and once he had it, he opened it to the camera. He frowned a bit. It was too close to his face...to not be his face, but it wasn't his face. His nose was narrowed, his cheeks had been slimmed in, his eyes were upturned and a little bigger, his lips were slightly more plump than they were meant to be. He shook his head a little, wanting to start from scratch. It was always easier to shift starting from a familiar base. He took a deep breath before focusing on himself in the camera again. First, all he had to do was try to match how Katryna looked - even if their mom never knew, he certainly knew how many times she had snuck out of the house to sleepover at someone else's place. People wanted her. That's what made her a good base, and given that they were siblings, there wasn't all that much he had to change to match her. Once he was satisfied with his facial structure, he turned his hair longer than it was, just to his shoulders. He watched his ginger locks turn black, with a blue streak in it, and turned the colour of his eyes from green to blue to match his hair. He made his cheeks a little thinner and his nose more button-like. It wasn't like this was his first time. It only took him about a minute to come up with a face that wasn't his that he thought might be pretty enough, before taking several photos and choosing his favourites. He opened up the dating app on his phone that he had hidden in a locked file, under a different user profile. He knew his mom would loose it if she caught glimpse of it, thus the measures he took to hide it from her. It wasn't like he was supposed to have it in the first place....but thirteen was close enough to eighteen, right? Besides, the compliments he got- rather, his "character" got, made him feel happy. And this way, he controlled what was going on the internet, and how he interacted with people, and all without his mothers interference. It was perfect. He made a new account, posted the picture and a made up biography before starting to swipe right on every single person that came up. He didn't have to wait long for the compliments to file in, or the "its a match!" to fill his screen. He smiled to himself, before opening the most interesting opener and starting to chat, like he had done so many times before, ready and willing to do whatever it took to get that feeling.

Alcina growled under her breath with her arms crossed. Her keen eyes observed Wesker with great scrutiny while he tampered with a heavy lock that led into one of his old labs. They were several hundred miles from the village, and though they were hidden in the woods, Alcina didn't feel comfortable being too far from home. In fact, this was the first time in decades she had been outside of the village's borders. She started to become homesick, thinking about her daughters until her dislike for Wesker began to creep back up. His scent alone mad her angry. Whatever he was, he wasn't a normal man.

Alcina couldn't for the life of her understand why Mother Miranda required the services of such a vile creature. Her research into the Raccoon City incident prior to meeting him was all Alcina needed to know regarding the kind of character Wesker was. Not that she was above obliterating an entire city, but Alcina prided herself on having grace and tact despite being a monster. The fact he was a man made it worse.

"What do you hope to gain from a partnership with Miranda?" Alcina cleared her throat, not bothering to hide her obvious distaste for her accomplice.

"I merely wish to share resources with your benefactor. Nothing more." Wesker said as a matter of fact. He unfastened the last of the locks, and sighed in relief. "Once we retrieve what Miranda needs, I guarantee you and I will not be working together again when we return to the village."

Wesker smirked, looking up at his colleague. "I think we both know the true answer to your statement when it comes to our power. I think it's wise we stay on good terms. For now."

Alcina wanted nothing more than to slap him. To unleash her claws and rip his face off. The thought combed over her mind like a soft blanket, and Alcina relished in the fantasy. She made a fist, and shoved Wesker to the side and made her way into the lab.

"I can't believe I'm stuck working with you..." Alcina bitterly stated. She made a grimace when glancing around the lab space, not appreciating the tackiness it had.

"Me thinks the big lady in white doth protest too much." Wesker snickered under his breath. He could feel her predatory eyes on him, and felt a swell of pride in his chest knowing she knew better than to strike him down.

1. Saving CASH & ONLINE

I felt like I was never able to save money UNTIL, I started saving in cash. I have a lockbox that I keep my money in and I NEVER touch it (usually because i forget about it most of the time).

Everytime I get paid, I’ll take out $40 of my check and put it in, and if i can save more I will. I also have 15% of my check automatically taken out, so the cash savings is just extra!!

2. UNDERSTANDING my spending habits

I never fully understand why I would spend the money that I would and I would never have any reason to spend so much money at a time either. Look at your bank account and ask yourself why why why, until you run out of answers. I PROMISE it helps and you can learn a little about yourself.

3. ALLOCATE YOUR MONEY to different places.

I use CashApp, Cash & my banking app to keep money in certain places. Usually my card is locked, which helps with reckless spending. Every week I put $25 on my CashApp and that’s all the money I can use to buy my wants, so if I want Starbucks or a new shoe, I could either save the money OR buy it as long as i have enough for it. Usually I don’t spend the entire $25 in a week. I keep extra cash on me $40-60 just in case I run out of money on my CashApp or if I paid a bill and run low on funds.

He seems like a sweet guy. I appreciate that he doesn’t seem as instantly enamored as some otome love interests can be. I’m excited to learn more about him.

I’m doing the Day 2 lunch chat as I am writing this review, and I would like to reiterate that he is genuinely very sweet. I enjoy the way he writes, it feels very distinct. He reminds me a bit of Ray and Yoosung in terms of the way he talks about things.

The interface

The new UI and interface is super neat. Personally a big fan of how you can change themes, although I don’t really have anything to choose from yet.

Labs

I personally find the labs to be a lot of fun, but I also understand that a lot of people aren’t fan of them. To me, it’s a good way to connect with the community to some degree without having to join discord servers or generally be active online.

This is just a silly thing to me. Maybe it’s because I don’t understand it. There seems to be a trick to it, but I don’t get it. Anyway, I don’t actively dislike it, I’m just not a fan of grinding based mechanics.

Maybe I’m just a fast texter, who plays Mystic Messenger on the highest speed, but god Teo types like 1 word a minute. The game isn’t meant to be played like MM though, so I can overlook it as I can just put down my phone and walk away.

Tutorials

There are many tutorials, and not all of them do a sufficient job at explaining what the features actually do. It can be a bit frustrating having to guess why I have to do certain things other than just because it’s fun

Locked/paid features

This includes paid (battery) answer, private account, changing your schedule, etc.

I’m a big believer in free to play games, and I understand that Cheritz is a company that needs to make money. But dang. There are so many things you need to pay for access to.

Overall, it’s a very mixed experience that is very different from what I expected. I knew it would be different from Mystic Messenger, as Cheritz is allowed to make new and different games, but I think overall I expected more chats and less... Other features. It is fair that they have less chats, as there is only one character to talk to, although they hint at there eventually being more characters (or versions of Teo?) in the future.

But I think overall I am excited for what’s in store for this game - to see where the journey takes us... To the space station, maybe? lol
