Do/for you have to make references for any other characters in Handplates? Like the mouse or pterofractal? The same goes for the characters that have canon designs in Undertale. Did you ever need a ref for them?
Honestly I like never make reference sheets until something forces me, haha. With the mouse I just go back to the first comic he appeared in and just ref off of those. I might have mentioned this before, I forget, but originally that mouse was supposed to be the mole in the MTT comedy club but then I looked up their speech pattern and it didn't fit, so instead I made them a Rathbone cameo from The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain. :B

I had to improvise his lower body so I just gave him big wading pants lol.
As for Pterofractal, Jaz gave me this!
Tumblr media
I do have a folder for canon refs, mostly screenshots I've taken to get colors and layouts for certain areas in the Underground, haha. And some sprite sheets if I need them.
Tumblr media
Nothing really official or purposeful though, just screencaps and snips from other files I end up reusing.

The game comes out tonight and I am both excited and terrified lol
Tumblr media
Gotta do some more playtesting to make sure I didn't break anything, but I should be set to release on time. Thanks for all the support!! Releasing something you've spend 3 whole months of your life dedicated to is really scary 😅
Can't wait to get home from work to wrap this thing up, but also really scared that nobody's gonna play it, or there's gonna be weird issues I didn't see coming 😞

Fashion Trip was a virtual mall created by software developer ModaCAD, and released in 1998 and available on Windows 98 and 95. The software was to act as a "Personal fashion consultant, 3D Virtual Mall and Fashion Magazine all in one"
The user could register via a questionnaire that collects personal information on skin type, hair colour, size, height, and weight, as well as lifestyle aspects such as hobbies and activities. Personalization would allow the site to serve up targeted fashion advice plus editorial content from Seventeen and other publishing partners.
Brands such as Urban Decay, GUESS, Diesel and Steve Madden could be found on the catelogue through the fashion finder and the user could try on clothing in virtual dressing rooms.
To truly encapsulate the mall experience, you could also "shop with a friend", allowing users to talk as they compare outfits, stroll through the mall and check out the latest styles together (with a good internet connection).

Item photos via eBay and Internet Archive (the seller currently has 2 copies of this CD-ROM!, the software is also available on the Internet Archive)

Begging Tumblr users to finally discover Linux
Everyone keeps complaining about Google and advising to use Firefox etc while still using OS produced by Microsoft which is just like Google maybe worse. Linux is literally free and out there, there are so many different distributions produced in different countries and so much free open source software. Go grab yourself a flashdisk and do yourself a favour. Tbh if you get Ubuntu it is very easy to set up(seriously if you managed to download firefox and add Ublock you probably are very much capable of installing Ubuntu), has shit ton of support online, comes with many useful programs preinstalled and you can even get an add-on to make it look more like windows. Nothing is stopping you
Edit: people are also recommending Linux Mint a lot so you can give that a try! (Personally I have never used it but it looks very windows-like at least when it comes to the UI layout)

i am increasingly convinced that azran legacy did not receive a US localization the way the rest of the professor layton series did—obviously the game was released in north america, but whereas for other installments the english dialogue is radically different in the USA and EUR editions (not only edited for britishisms and vernacular; the disparities are sweeping), i can find no evidence of an “americanized” azran legacy out there:
the walkthrough only has one title for every puzzle, as opposed to the other games, where many puzzles have separate american/british titles [and the puzzles themselves are sometimes not remotely the same] and the other walkthroughs indicate this)
the roms i’ve seen that say they are US editions say (c) 2014 on the title screen; others say (c) 2013—azran legacy was released worldwide in 2013 and in north america in 2014. these versions are otherwise (from what i’ve seen) identical in content
there aren’t many playthroughs/videos on youtube but the ones that are there are all identical (and this streamer, who seems to be american based on accent + has played the US versions of the other games, has an azran legacy apparently identical to the EUR one with british spellings) (this playthrough is labeled US version, i haven’t watched everything but what i’ve seen is identical to the EUR version—and there we go, this one uses the UK “civilisation” instead of the US “civilization”…)
conclusion: unless someone who owns a US copy of azran legacy wants to chime in and correct me that they have a whole game of nonstop americanisms and i’m simply a moron, i think it is settled: EUR azran legacy is USA azran legacy. the releases are identical.
this begs the question: why on earth did level-5/nintendo release 5 games worldwide with drastically different USA and EUR english editions and 1 game with identical USA and EUR english editions, except perhaps to torment me in particular
