Thanks @nocoastposts for tagging me!!
Haven’t worked on this one in a hot minute, but I haven’t forgotten about it and I wanted to share one of my favorite parts from it.
Have a little snippet from my as yet unnamed Grey’s Anatomy au
“Why do you care if I’m alone Alex? You barely even know me.”
“I know, but when we talked the other day, and you told me about your dad and watching Bond movies together and how you were afraid that the whole fiasco with the appy and that horrible nickname might have ruined that for you, I was kind of hoping that I might get the chance to help you ‘untaint’ that memory.”
“What on earth is that supposed to mean?” Alex bites his lip and looks down at the floor, then over at Amy, who’s been standing slightly behind Alex the whole time.
She hands him an insulated reusable grocery bag. Alex unzips it, then pulls out the familiar blue box. Cornettos. “You said these were his favorite. So, I thought we could have a movie night together.”
Henry stands there staring at Alex and the box of cornettos for entirely too long, and eventually, Alex waves a hand in front of his face. “You okay?”
“Oh um…yeah…well not exactly, but yeah, I’m alright. It’s just that no one’s ever done something like this for me. Which is ironic considering this could technically be considered trespassing and a severe violation of privacy.”
“Yeah sorry about that, I–” Henry shakes his head and holds up a hand to stop him. “It’s fine Alex, weird, but fine. And thank you for coming, truly. I would love to have a movie night with you.”
(This is totally more than seven sentences but it’s seven LINES so I made it work)

Mumbo K. Jumbo does not, in fact, own seven identical copies of the same suit that he cycles through every week, and frankly, he is quite appalled that you would think that. His wardrobe, he'll have you know, is quite diverse.
For instance, his Friday Suit has a vermillion tie that he ties in a half-windsor knot, while his Saturday Suit has a scarlet tie with a full windsor knot, and an ivory white shirt. Really, how much more different can he get? And his Monday Suit has an eggshell white shirt, for goodness sakes! Why, his Wednesday Suit even has pinstripes! Yes, they're very dark grey. Yes, his suit is black. You can see them if you look really, really close, okay? Really, it's quite unobservant of people to think he'd have such a boring and unoriginal wardrobe like that.

My central thesis has always been that the Harkles wanted everything the Wales have and more. I know I remember reading that she cried after hearing William was made Prince of Wales. Right from the get go, her PR was all "Meghan is way better suited to be royal". Then there were all the Commonwealth flowers on her bridal veil and their insistence that they move into Windsor Castle. Now I don't believe everthing Neil Sean says, but his latest video mentions that Megxit was an ultimatum to get Windsor. As that is the traditional home of the Monarch, I feel as though they were attempting a coup.
Then there is the thought that Harry believes that the Dutchy of Cornwall should be split and he should eventually be made co-King or King of the Commonwealth. Let the Wales have that tiny island while they are jetted and feted around the world.
Here's my question for you. Did Meghan and Sparry REALLY believe they could leapfrog over the Wales??? I know her jealousy and envy of Catherine is bunny boiler level and he absolutely eviscerated his brother in Waagh. Has this been their plan all along?? Death by a thousand cuts for the Wales to force them to resign their place in the LOS or that they could somehow convince Charles to make Harry the heir??
I'd like to know where you think the delusions stem from. It wouldn't be the first time in history that younger brother has attempted to remove old brother from the throne.
Sincerely appreciate your blog and all the work you put into it. I'm always learning something new.
I'm pretty sure that was exactly their plan: they wanted to use their popularity to force The Queen to name them as her successors. I don't remember where I read this or when, but allegedly Harry sent "documentation" to someone - to whom specifically I can't recall, but options are The Queen, Charles, William, and/or grey suits - providing evidence for claims that he and Meghan were more popular than any of the others and deserved more than what they were getting.
And if they couldn't get the actual crown, they were going to do their damnedest to try and get a co-kingship with William. That's where Meghan's obsession with the Commonwealth came from; she had been told (again, I don't know by whom - all signs point to Harry exaggerating to keep her interested or maybe Charles spitballing ideas during his 'Magnificent Six' planning circa 2012) that William would rule Britannia and Harry would rule the Commonwealth.
I think that's why Meghan went all in on 'racist Kate.' Not only did she want to knock Kate out of the spotlight, she wanted to do enough damage that Commonwealth/realm nations would threaten to quit and The Queen would capitulate by offering to install Harry and Meghan as new leaders. This actually had a chance of working; it's been said quite often during her last years and since her passing that The Queen saw the Commonwealth as her greatest legacy and there was speculation that she would have done anything she could have to keep it in tact. And had Meghan played her cards right, she and Harry probably could have ended up becoming the main ambassadors of and for the Commonwealth, like a Commonwealth version of the UN Secretary-General.
But where the plan failed, obviously, was that it required blaming Kate for problems and issues that don't exist. Because remember, in 2021 when Meghan was making these claims, we'd just gone through the huge global reckoning that was Black Lives Matter and the agreement during/after BLM was "call racist people out on their BS. Put them on blast. Don't let them get away with it anymore." So not only would Meghan have been perfectly justified to name names, cite events, bring receipits, air the real dirty laundry and everyone would've been so much more supportive of it. But she didn't. Instead she played coy and said something like "I'm protecting them even though they don't deserve it."
Girl, please. That was Meghan's one chance to go justifiably scorched earth and air out all the dirty laundry and she fumbled hard.
Anyway. Let's get this train back on track. Where do the delusions come from? Traumatic childhoods courtesy of Mommies Dearest.
We all know Harry's story with Diana. She was a young, fun, free spirited loving mom larger than life with a neediness that she depended on her children to fill, rather than her own husband or other adults her age, so Harry grew to find satisfaction in supporting and providing her what she needed. He probably saw, and understood, the way Diana received what she wanted by exaggerating what she needed and following it up with excluding or isolating herself until whoever came chasing after her to give her what she wanted. And ultimately this led her (and Harry) down a path that ended up killing her; she exaggerated the relationship with Dodi to get attention from Hasnat or the BRF, then isolated herself in France to force whoever (Hasnat? Charles Wales? Charles Spencer?) to come chase after her. We know how that ends.
That's where Harry's delusions, IMO, come from. He saw how it well it worked (mostly) for Diana - exaggerate her needs/wants, then run and hide until she gets it - so he does it too. He probably started doing it right after she died, when no one knew what to do or how to handle him so they kept indulging in everything he wanted, so those wants kept manifesting bigger and bigger. And I think the way we see the BRF treating Harry is what would have happened to Diana had she lived; eventually the public would sour on her (this was already happening, by the way), which would then enable the BRF to grey rock her, devenomizing her in effect, and move on without Diana having too much of an influence on their day-to-day.
It's sort of similar for Meghan. We don't know specifically what happened (the way we do with Harry and Diana), but we know that Doria was a young, fun, free-spirited mother herself married to an older husband who had other priorities (eg kids from his first marriage). Unlike Diana, Doria probably didn't want the responsibilities of motherhood (which is the vibe Meghan and Thomas have given about Doria during Meghan's childhood) and left. And like the BRF, Thomas may have also overcompensated Doria's absence in Meghan's life by giving her everything she asked for, which made her asks get bigger and bigger and when Thomas couldn't deliver, she threatened to leave him...like Doria did and Thomas, erstwhile girldad he was, just kept throwing more and more at Meghan to keep her happy. Her delusions come from preying on other individuals' trauma to ensure she gets what she wants. The bigger her wants (ie the more grandiose her delusions), the harder she manipulates other people's trauma to make sure she gets what she wants. Which is kinda the opposite of Harry and Diana; they create the trauma to get people to do what they want, whereas Meghan exploits it to get people to do what she wants. Both are skills they learned after being abandoned (metaphorically and literally) by their mothers.
And all of Meghan's PR about "young mother," I think it's more insidious than that. Yes, it's a very overt evocation of Diana's narrative. Yes, it's a judgement against Kate. But it is also digs at Doria. "See? Motherhood is hard but I'm prioritizing my kid. How dare you to have left me" kind of spiteful digs meant to shame her for whatever happened that caused her to disappear. Meghan is the kind of person who must always have the last word, so I wouldn't be surprised if she's been targeting or belitting Doria about not knowing certain things about Archie/Lili because she wasn't around when Meghan was that age.
So...yeah.
I've realized now that this is the third or fourth Wednesday in a row that I write these super long analytical/in this essay I will posts. I guess Wednesdays are my thinking days...

This was supposed to be short, and it turned into...lemme get a word counter here...2k+ words.
Managed to get something done from this post, so here we go. Let's hope I can keep the streak up but tbh I start work on monday so who knows lmao.
Anyway here goes:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The princess had invited everyone out for dinner. One of those ritzy places only Overlords and higher ranking demons like the Deadly Sins and Ars Goetia were allowed to even approach.
Husk had been to one, exactly once, when he was in his full power. He'd been invited by the Von Eldritch patriarch to talk business. He'd been impressed by Husk's main casino and wanted to invest in a new one near his own territory.
He'd never finished closing the deal, as the high of overconfidence the proposition gave him had led him to go on a betting spree. Now, he wasn't the Gambling Demon for nothing. He'd won every game that week, big or small.
Up until Alastor showed up, and the rest was history.
"Motherfucker cheated me in my own game." Husk grumbled under his breath, finishing fixing his tie in front of the mirror. He'd chosen to forgo the usual bow-tie in favor of something half the hotel wouldn't be wearing, for once. He wasn't exactly happy with it, though. The half-Windsor knot was relatively easy, but his huge paws and claws were not cooperating. It lay a bit crooked, not enough to be glaringly noticeable, but anyone experienced could see it a mile away.
Giving up, and thinking Charlie should be glad he's wearing a shirt at all with how much trouble he went through finding something that fit his wings, he opted to grab his dark grey jacket and wait for everyone else at the lobby.
On his way down, he passed by Angel's room, the bright pink hearts adorning it hurting his sensitive eyes. He tried to hurry past to avoid getting the neon shapes burned into his retina, when he heard something crashing into the floor from inside the room, followed by loud cursing and the squealing of Fat Nuggets.
Husk usually minded his own business, but knowing Angel, this could mean anything from a particularly nasty text from Valentino, to having smashed his pinky toe--did he even have toes? Angel wasn't very keen on showing anyone his feet--on a table. Both things could potentially make everyone late if Angel got caught up stewing in his anger.
Steadying himself, Husk knocked quietly on the door. Once. Twice. And waited.
The door swung open a second later, Angel standing in front of him in only a pair of black shorts and long fuzzy pink socks. He looked mad, but his frown softened a notch after seeing it was him.
"Oh, Husky, hi." Angel leaned on the door frame, arms crossing under his chest fluff to make it look bigger. Husk rolled his eyes internally. Most likely something Angel did on instinct at this point. "Can I, uh, can I help you?"
"Yeah, you can tell me what the hell is going on in there that even your pig is screaming." Husk raised an eyebrow, noticing how Angel started to flush under the fur. It was one of the things he couldn't hide with how brightly colored his fur was; the red shone right through.
"Ah, nothing to concern yourself with, don't worry." Angel cleared his throat, trying to use his taller body to block the view of his room. Unfortunately for him, he was thin as a rake and it was very easy for Husk to use his aforementioned sensitive feline eyes to see into the dimly lit room.
A lamp was on the floor, not broken thanks to the fluffy rug covering half of the room, but the bedside table it had been on was askew as well. The vanity mirror right next to it had a few bottles knocked over both on the table and the floor right below. He could see what was most likely Angel's outfit for the night hanging on the door of his closet, something flowy and shiny that he couldn't deduce the shape of just by looking.
What he could recognize was the simple corset laying on the bed, the same lilac shade as the dress.
He was no detective, but Husk could put two and two together.
"Having trouble with anything?" He nodded his chin at the mess inside. "Maybe something getting you a bit tangled up?"
Angel batted a hand at him, clicking his tongue. "Spiders don't get 'tangled up', baby." He looked back inside slowly, biting his lip in consideration. All three pairs of arms were out and crossed, all right hands tapping different rhythms on his opposing elbows. "'Though...if you don't mind lending one of them nice hands of yours..."
Husk had to laugh. "That's gotta be the first time anyone calls them 'nice'." He wiggled his fingers, showing off the dangerous claws he sported. Angel seemed entranced, following the movement closely. "But sure, show me the problem."
Angel snapped out of it, stepping to the side to let him in. Fat Nuggets was sitting on his doggie bed by the corner, but it was clean and almost new; a good sign the piglet spend more time sleeping with Angel in his bed. Whatever had spooked him earlier--likely the falling lamp--clearly wasn't bothering him anymore. He oinked excitedly and rushed to Husk, tapping at the ground with his little hoof, asking to be picked up.
Husk conceded, hanging his jacket on the door knob and quickly lifting him to drop a kiss on his snout before setting him back down on Angel's bed. He swiped the discarded corset off the sheets and turned to Angel, who was silently staring at him with shining eyes after the brief interaction with his pet. "Alright then, get over here."
Angel got there quickly, his long strides making short work of the length of the room. He sat on the velvet stool in front of the vanity, lifting his arms to allow Husk to slide the laced up corset into place. He had to pop in the two lower pairs of arms, as this specific corset didn't have an extra opening for more than the usual.
"I see." Husk chuckled. It was easier to guess now what had happened. "Not used to the lack of extra hands for this kinda job?" He asked, expertly centering the garment in a way it would fit properly when standing, while being comfortable when sitting. He started pulling at the lace in each segment, alternating the top and bottom, slowly tightening it up towards the center.
"Couldn't find a pair in this color that would fit me like that" Angel huffed, blowing at the tuft of hair falling on his face. "The lace got all knotted up and I've spent the last ten minutes setting it back right. Pulled too hard on one and my hand slipped; ended up knocking over half my shit on the floor." He fell silent as he felt the corset cinching around his waist, perfectly in place in record time. "You're good at this. Any dark past you're hiding from me, Kitty?" He teased, standing up to check himself out in the mirror.
"Had some dancing shows in my casino a few years back. Wasn't unusual that they needed help getting ready and I just happened to be near." Husk said, falling back to sit at the edge of the bed next to Fat Nuggets.
Angel hummed as he slipped the dress off the hanger. "Lucky them." He grinned, twirling his pointy finger in circles in the air. "Now, now Husky, I can't put this on with these shorts, so if you don't mind~"
Husk rolled his eyes for real this time, but complied and turned around, sitting cross-legged on the bed as he faced the back wall. Angel hummed as he got ready, and Husk could hear the swishing of the fabric as he got dressed.
"Mind helping me with this too, baby?"
Husk looked back over his shoulder, only to freeze when he found Angel sitting on the stool again, his back to him as he finished tying up the halter top behind his neck. The zipper on the back was open, and it started low enough that Angel couldn't reach it without at least his middle arms, which were hidden away due to lack of accommodating space in the attire.
Husk stood, stumbling a bit as he tripped on his own feet. His tail was swishing as he walked up to Angel, pupils considerable dilated even for the dimness of the room. He couldn't explain why, but he had no problem seeing or even touching a near naked Angel.
But to see him almost completely dressed up, with only the small detail of an unzipped dress over his half-bared back...it twisted a knot in his throat.
Angel had a long torso, so if he didn't get his clothes made to fit, then he'd adapt what he could find. The corset was off the rack, so it was too short for him and he used it mostly to accentuate his waist. It ended below his chest, leaving his upper back exposed, which worked perfectly for this specific dress. In Husk's opinion it worked way better as an eye-catcher than the usual shorter, more revealing attires Angel would wear to work or for casual days out with Cherri.
When so little was on display, it almost made him want to reach out a hand and...
"I never really wear this one." Angel spoke suddenly, making Husk jump as he was snapped out of his haze. "It's a hassle when I'm alone, even without the damn corset."
Husk hummed, placing a hand carefully on Angel's exposed bit of back to keep him sitting straight. A shiver ran down Angel's spine and made Husk chuckle. "Pity. It's a nice dress. The color suits you well."
Angel laughed breathily, shifting a bit in his seat as Husk grabbed the delicate zipper and slowly dragged it up, the dull side of his claws running up his lower back over the shiny satin. "Aw, you sayin' there's something that don't suit me, babycakes?"
"You know that won't work on me" Husk said softly, his voice low and gravelly resonating like a beating drum within Angel's rib cage, in tandem with the quickening beating of his heart. "But no, I don't think there's anything that won't suit you." He finished fastening the small clasp right above where the zipper ended, and ran the back of his hand down Angel's back to flatten the fabric in place.
Angel gasped quietly at the feeling, holding his breath for a few seconds before releasing it slowly. He stood up, the fabric of the skirt falling like water around his legs. A slit running up his left thigh to the hip showed his leg, and Husk grinned at the sight of the fuzzy pink sock he still had on, clashing completely with the rest of the outfit.
"I'll let you finish getting ready then." He pointed at the sock with his chin, smile widening when Angel realized he still had them on. Angel puffed his cheeks and moved the skirt to cover his leg. Husk laughed and was about to turn to leave, but a hand on his shoulder stopped him in place.
"Not so fast." Angel's voice called him back, and when he turned to face him, he was standing right there, bent at the hip thanks to the corset. He brought the other hand to Husk's other shoulder, dragging both together down his chest. "Lemme help ya a bit, too."
Husk felt more than saw Angel untying his tie, making quick work of fixing it into a perfect full Windsor. Or at least that's what it seemed. He was too busy noticing the subtle makeup Angel had applied before getting dressed. It was barely there, so he hadn't seen it before, but the dark eyeliner making his eyes look sharper and the hint of clear lip gloss were all he could see now.
Angel wasn't even looking at him, eyes focused on fixing his tie and straightening up his shirt, even going as far as tucking it in better in his pants. There wasn't the slightest hint of sexual intent in the gesture; it was actually strangely domestic.
"That style goes better with your shirt. You got a jacket?" Angel asked, and Husk wordlessly turned back to the door, where he'd left it hanging from the knob once he entered the room. Angel huffed and checked it for wrinkles, brushing some fuzz off the shoulders. He was about to hand it over when he paused, and quickly draped it over his own shoulders like a cape, checking himself out in his mirror and chuckling before finally giving it back. "Well, what do you know? Looks good like this too."
Husk accepted it silently, letting it hang from his forearm as he followed Angel to the door. Angel's perfume wafting from the garment and into his nose.
"Thanks, Husk." Angel smiled at him, something small and sincere, and Husk felt his heart skip a beat at the lack of any nickname for him. "I'll see you downstairs?"
"Sure." He hesitated for a moment, an aborted step to the side as he almost went on his way before catching himself. He grabbed Angel's hand and brought it to his face, kissing his knuckles quickly before hightailing it out of there, practically flying down the flights of stairs to the lobby.
Angel's hand remained where Husk had released it, hanging in midair as he stared at the spot Husk had been a second before. He brought his hand to his chest, biting his cheek to keep the stupid grin that wanted to overtake his face.
He turned back inside and closed the door. He still had to finish getting ready.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Angel's dress is something like this but lilac, with the back starting a bit higher to cover up the corset. He's a long boy, it'd work anyway, ha.
Might post this to ao3 as well, for clout lmao.
Anyway, I'll see if I can do something more with prompts later, byeeee.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Sixth summer, July.
The weather in England has been cold and rainy lately. It doesn't seem to be July at all. Y/n longs for those warm, long summer nights outside in her parents' garden, playing cards and drinking bubbly lemonade. Instead, she's clinging to her umbrella and making herself as small as possible so that she doesn't give the wind too much space to attack her with its whipping water. She's waiting for Draco near the entrance of Diagon Alley. She watched several wizards enter and leave the place, but no Draco so far. Y/n wonders if he will actually show up. They've been exchanging letters via owl, as usual. At the beginning of the school year, Draco's letters have been arriving quite frequently but there were less and less letters the last few months. Y/n knows there's been some arguments with his rival Harry and a new teacher. Draco was appointed a certain position in a Club or something. He didn't really tell her what's it about but ever since he's been more reserved than before.
Y/n waits for almost an hour before she gives up. She walks through the pouring rain back to the bus stop. She stops by a Costa and treats herself to a hot cup of tea on the go in an attempt to warm herself up. On the bus, she plugs in her headphones and stares out of the window. She tries really hard not to cry and hopes that none of the other passengers notice th water dwelling in her eyes. When she gets off the bus, her head's pounding from the oppressing of tears. Y/n walks straight home and up to her room, without taking off her jacket and boots. She can hear her mother complaining about the water on the floor, but she doesn't care. She's just dropped onto her bed when she hears the soft clank of Draco's owl on her window. Y/n gets up and sniffs. This guy has some nerve, she tells herself as she walks up to the window. She takes the letter from the owl and throws some dried meat in its direction, a habit she picked up a while ago. She leans back on a chair and reads.
Dear y/n,
I won't be able to make it today. I'm really sorry but there have been some issues in my family recently and my mother needs my support. I hope the whole situation dissolves itself soon.
I'll send you a letter when it's possible to meet again. I hope you can understand.
Draco.
Y/n folds up the letter and puts it in a box beneath her bed where she keeps all of Draco's letters. She writes a quick response and hands it to the owl who is patiently waiting outside. She watches the owl fly away. I must've just missed his message, y/n thinks. Yet still she can't shake the feeling that something is off.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Draco lets y/n wait for two weeks. Y/n got antsy with every passing day without hearing from him. Eventually, he sends her a letter and proposes a meeting in Windsor Great Park for a stroll and coffee. Y/n is nervous all morning and has to redo her makeup twice after ruining her eyeliner. Again, y/n is the first to arrive. She walks up and down the entrance of the Savill Garden.
"Hey", she suddenly hears behind her. Draco is standing right next to her with a loopy grin on his face. It doesn't reach his eyes, y/n thinks. She smiles at him nonetheless and opens her arms to hug him. Almost hesitantly, Draco hugs her back. It's a bit awkward. "Do you want to go inside?", y/n says and points to the garden. Draco nods. They take the tourist route but there aren't many other people around. It's probably because of the grey clouds that hang low above their heads. They walk along the path between rows of bushes and other plants.
Draco doesn't make an attempt to start a conversation, so y/n does. "So, how's your family? Everything alright? Your letter sounded quite serious.", y/n asks him. Draco shrugs and doesn't answer immediately. "I guess, we're alright. Things haven't been resolved but it will be ok.", he tells her. Y/n nods reassuringly but she feels that Draco does not really believe that last part. "If you don't mind me asking... what happened?", she asks carefully. Draco kicks a stone out of his way. "My dad has been involved in some stuff. He's temporarily contained.", he tells her. Y/n stares at him with big eyes. "Like jail?", she blurts. Draco gives her an angry look. "Yes. My mother did not take it too well.", he replies. "Oh.", is all that y/n manages to say. They walk in silence for a moment. "What about you? How do you take it?", she asks him. Draco shrugs again and does his best to look somewhere far ahead. "Draco...", y/n mumbles and touches his arm. "I'm fine.", he says harshly, "My mother needs all the support she can get. I can't be weak in a situation like this". Y/n steps a bit closer to him and rests her cheek on his arm while taking his hand. "It's not a weakness to feel bad about a situation like that. It only shows how much you care about your parents.", she tells him. Almost instantly, she can feel Draco's shoulders slump down. He turns to her and finally pulls her close. He hides his face in her hair. "I must do everything I can to clear my family's name. One way or another.", he points out. Y/n thinks about this for a moment. "It's not your responsibility. Support your family as much as you can, but don't let the weight of it pull you down.", she replies. Draco shakes his head. "You don't understand... my mother...", he starts. "...is an adult. We're only sixteen, Draco. There's only so much we can do. Somethings we must let the adults handle.", she points out. Draco shakes his head again. "No, my mother can't handle this. I'm the one who has to fix things. I've been chosen.", he tells her. Y/n frowns. "Chosen? By whom? For what?", she asks him. Draco lets go of her. "It doesn't matter. The point is I'm going to handle this. Don't worry.", he says coldly. Draco walks a bit ahead and y/n stares after him. She's got a really bad feeling about this but it's clear that Draco isn't ready to talk about this.
She jogs after him. "Alright, let's not talk about this anymore. We haven't seen each other since Christmas and I really am happy we're spending time together today.", she announces and gives him a bright smile. She holds out her hand to Draco and looks at him expectantly. Draco sighs and then takes her hand. They continue their stroll and y/n tries to distract Draco with silly stories about school and her friends. She updates him on Olivia's situationship and manages to pry some stories about Blaze and quidditch out of Draco. The atmosphere loosens up a bit and soon she finds Draco genuinely smiling again. They wander deeper into the garden and don't notice how the clouds above them get darker and darker. They're laughing about one of y/n's stories when the first drop landed on y/n's cheek. Draco wipes it away carefully. They look up and notice how armageddon is right above them. Within seconds, it's pouring. Draco pulls her close and uses his wand as an umbrella. However, the wind whips raindrops onto their sides. They rush along the path, deeper into the rows of trees ahead of them. They're almost soaked when they finally find shelter in a stone pavilion.
Y/n is shivering but glad there are still some parts of her that are dry. Draco sits down next to her and puts an arm around her. Y/n nuzzles closer into his side. Draco leans his head against hers. They don't speak and when y/n finally looks up, she immediately meets Draco's gaze. He must've been staring at her for a while now. Immediately, he leans close and they meet in a kiss. For a moment, everything outside the pavilion seems to stop existing. Y/n kisses him back feverishly and grabs his collar. Draco's hand is tangled in her hair and his other hand wanders down her side. Y/n presses her upper body closer to his and Draco pulls her onto his lap. They kiss until they can't breathe anymore. Y/n leans her forehead against his as both of them catch their breath. There are no sounds besides the pouring rain outside.
"Draco?", y/n breathes. "Hm?", he mumbles in response. Y/n's heart leaps in her chest. It takes all her courage to say: "I think I love you". Draco leans back and looks at her with surprise in his eyes. Clearly, he didn't expect a confession of love. Immediately, y/n feels embarrassed. She wishes she could take the words back. "Y-you don't have to say it back. I just thought...", she rumbles but doesn't get to finish her sentence. Draco puts his hand onto the back of her head and pulls her lips against his again. He gives her a deep, longing kiss which leaves y/n breathless once again. When he lets go of her, he looks at her longingly and strokes over her cheek. Then he presses a kiss on top of her head and pulls her into a hug. Y/n feels warm and fuzzy inside and she almost forgets that Draco did not return the confession.
They stay in the pavilion until the heavy rain fades into a soft summer drizzle. Only then, they start wandering back to the entrance of the garden. They part ways rather quickly since the rain started again after some point. However, y/n proposes that he should come visit her soon. Her parents will be visiting her grandparents all the way up in Keswick and will be gone for a couple of days. They put y/n under house arrest for the time being (considering what happened last year), but allowed to have a friend over. They probably thought about Olivia but when y/n asked her, Olivia immediately declined saying that y/n simply must invite Draco. Draco is a bit hesitant to accept the invitation and says that he will have to see how things at home. They both decide to write soon.
On her way back to the train station, y/n has mixed feelings. On one hand she's over the moon about meeting Draco finally again, on the other hand, she's also worried about him. Having a father in jail is already troubling but it sounded as if Draco was ready to do anything to fix that. She wonders if that included more than giving a testimony in front of a court. One way or another, he said. She hopes Draco is smart enough to not do anything stupid, or illegal.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Sixth summer, a few weeks later.
Anxious. That's how y/n feels as she waits for Draco at King's Cross. Y/n and Draco have been writing back and forth for the last couple of weeks. Draco's been really quiet about his father's situation and y/n didn't push too much. However, whenever y/n brought up Draco coming over, he kept saying it probably wouldn't be possible and that too many things were going on. Which clearly indicates that things haven't been resolved. Surprisingly, Draco sent her a letter a few days ago saying that meeting her would be possible after all. Apparently, his mother and his aunt visit a family friend, giving him a chance to slip away. When y/n got Draco's letter saying that he would be visiting after all, she immediately called Olivia who immediately rushed over. Giggling, they wrote lists and prepared the house for what y/n's parents assumed was a sleepover. It also leads to her parents being quite relaxed about leaving y/n alone for a few days.
Right now, y/n is waiting for Draco to arrive at King's Cross. Obviously, Draco does not take a muggle train. He arrives via floo powder somewhere close but they agreed to meet at the station from where y/n would take him home. Y/n nervously scans the crowd in front of her. Suddenly, she feels a tap on her shoulder. "Hey, there pretty girl.", she hears Draco say behind her. When she twirls around, he is mere inches from her face. "Draco!", she laughs and throws her arms around him. Draco almost drops his bag while trying to keep his balance. Y/n quickly retreats. "Sorry!", she says. Draco puts down his bag. "That's alright.", he tells her and pulls her close by her arms. He hugs her close and hides his face in her hair. Y/n's heart skips a beat. When he lets go of her, he looks over his shoulder nervously. Distractedly, he says: "So, uh... is your house close by?". Y/n tries to see what's behind him or what he's looking for but when he turns back to her, she gives him a bright smile. "We'll have to take the bus.", she tells him and takes his hand. Draco sighs behind her. "You don't happen to have a fireplace, do you?", he mumbles. Y/n laughs. "No, sorry! We have central heating.", she says as she pulls him along with him.
While Draco feels visibly nervous in the station, he relaxes once y/n and him have entered the bus. When y/n asks him why, he tells her that there are probably no wizards here who could see them. Y/n nods understandingly. It's a short walk from the bus station to y/n's house. Her house is one of these terraced houses with white, wooden windows and a small front garden. It's nothing special really but her parents had to save up for it for quite some time and they're really proud to call themselves 'homeowners'. Y/n thinks it's a bit ridiculous but then again she's never bought a house and doesn't even know how much it would cost. Y/n pulls out her keys and opens the door.
She holds the door for Draco. "Ladies first. You can put your shoes over there.", she tells him as she quickly pushes him inside. Ever since they made a turn into y/n's street, she's been the one looking over her shoulder. Can't have the neighbours see her sneaking a boy in. She's pretty sure that the nosy old lady from across the street would just love to tell her parents all about that. Y/n quickly closes the door behind her and pulls off her jacket. Draco is standing in the hallway looking around and feeling a bit out of place. Y/n points past him. "Go on, straight through that door. There's the kitchen", she tells him. They enter the kitchen together and y/n quickly puts the kettle on. "C'mon.", she tells him and leads him to the room to the right. It's the living room which has a small conservatory attached to it. It's her mother's favorite room since it's always bright and open. In the middle, there's a large couch with pillows and blankets. On the left is the telly and a coffee table. "It's cozy", Draco notes as y/n leads him to the coach. "Sit down. I'll make the tea.", she tells him as she rushes off back to the kitchen.
She prepares a tray with tea, mugs and some biscuits. When she enters the living room again, Draco still sits in the same position as she left him. I guess he feels a bit awkward, she concludes. After she pours him a cup of tea, she asks him: "So, what do you think? Is this how you imagined muggles to live like?". Draco laughs and rubs his head in embarrassment. "Actually, I'm not sure what I expected. But it's really nice. I like this room.", he says and points to the conservatory. Y/n pulls one of her legs under the other and takes her tea cup. "Hm, you really had no image in your head how I live like?", she asks. Draco shakes his head. "How do you imagine I live like then?", he replies. Y/n thinks about that for a moment. "I guess I imagine a big house, maybe a villa. An old one, maybe Victorian? I imagine a big staircase right when you enter. Old, but classic and high-quality furniture.", she explains. Draco looks at her surprised. "That's actually not that far off.", he tells her. "I can't imagine your room though. I feel like I can imagine your dorm room better than your room at home.", she says. Draco takes a sip from his tea. "Do you want me to describe it?", he asks her. Y/n nods excitedly. He crooks his head. "Let's see. My room is upstairs, in the East Wing. It has a window facing the East as well so that I can see the sunrise every morning. My walls are painted in a greyish-blue. My furniture is black. When you enter the room, you're standing in front of my bed. Opposite the bed is the window and in front of it is my desk. To the left of the desk, is my wardrobe which is always messy and to the right are some shelves with books.", he describes. Y/n tries to imagine the room. In her head, the room is kind of empty besides the furniture Draco described. "Is there anything else in the room?", she asks. Draco names some quidditch equipment and some other tokens that y/n has trouble imagining. Draco tried to explain quidditch to her one time but y/n fails to truly understand the game. Probably, because she's never seen a person riding a broom.
"Would you like to see my room?", y/n proposes and Draco nods. They walk back to the hallway and up the stairs that are on the left. "My room is all the way up, beneath the roof.", she tells him as they climb up the stairs. Y/n's room is the only room on the last floor. When she opens the room, there's her bed to the left and behind the door is her closet. Right in front of the door are three windows. In front of the middle one, is her desk. On the left is a little reading niche and on the right is a dressing table and a cupboard. A chain of lights is strung from one side of the room towards another. Y/n makes some space for Draco to enter. He looks around the room in silence. "So, what do you think?", she asks. "It suits you. I don't know how I'd imagine your room but this fits you perfectly.", he tells her. Y/n giggles and drops onto her bed. "You think so?", she says. Draco nods and turns around in her room before joining her on the bed. Y/n thinks the sight of him in her room is a bit strange. Like he doesn't quite fit into it. He's dressed in black (like always) and her room is dominated by beige and pastel tones. "Yeah, it's bright and warm. And girly. And cozy.", he replies. Y/n snuggles up to him. "You like it?", she asks him. Draco pulls her closer to him. "Yes. Actually, I like your whole house. Everything is very home-ly.", he murmurs and kisses the top of her head. He pulls her back and they fall on top of the comforter of y/n's bed. Draco turns to his side, pulling her closer to him. Y/n takes in his scent and puts her head on his chest, just beneath his head. Draco's hand finds its way into y/n's hair and he scratches the skin of her skull a bit. Y/n feels how the three magical words lay heavy on her tongue again, begging her to speak them out loud once more. She swallows them down quickly, however. She doesn't want to make a fool out of herself once again.
They lay there for a while and y/n is not sure whether or not she may have dozed off a bit. The room's colour faded to grey indicating that the sun was about to go down. Draco stretches next to her and sits up. "Are you hungry?", y/n asks him. Draco shrugs but y/n knows him well enough that that means yes. They end up ordering pizza and watching y/n's favourite movie. Setting up the telly, Draco is fascinated by the technology and asks a bunch of questions about how it works without magic which y/n definitely can't answer. She lets Draco choose a movie afterwards and they spend the evening rotting on the couch. Eventually, the titles roll and y/n sits up stretching. She peeks over to Draco whose eyes are closed. Did he really fall asleep?, she thinks and pokes his cheek. He wrinkles his nose and opens an eye. "Sleepy? Wanna settle for the night?", y/n asks and Draco yawns and nods. They get up and climb up the stairs to y/n's room. After brushing their teeth, they climb into y/n's bed and Draco pulls her close. Y/n leans her head against his and lets her hand rest on his chest. Draco gently strokes over her back and places soft kisses on her forehead, her cheeks and her nose. Y/n crooks her head and meets him in a soft kiss. It's slow and sweet. Draco puts his hand into her hair and pulls her face closer to him, deepening the kiss. Y/n's heart starts beating faster. They kiss like this for a bit until Draco rolls her over so that y/n lays flat on her back. Draco hovers over her while continuing to kiss her. Y/n puts her hands behind his neck and one of Draco's hands runs up and down her sides. Y/n feels goosebumps forming all over her body. Draco's hand finds the hem of her shirt. His fingers dip under it, softly circling the skin of her hip. He leans his head back for a moment. "Is this okay with you?", he asks. Y/n nods breathlessly, not trusting her voice to say yes. She's expected it to happen tonight. Hell, she kinda hoped it would. Draco pushes his hand under her shirt exploring the warm, naked skin underneath it. Y/n lets her hands run down his back and pulls his shirt up a bit. Draco sits up for a moment and pulls it over his head. Y/n stares up at him in awe. He looks even more pale than usual with the moonlight hitting his skin the way it does at this moment. She sits up a bit and runs her hand down his chest. Draco gently pulls on the neckline of her shirt, silently asking for permission to take it off as well. Y/n swallows. She's nervous. "We don't-", Draco starts but y/n cuts him off by pulling her shirt off as well. Draco doesn't say or do anything for a few seconds. Then he slowly traces a line from her shoulder over her collarbone down to her chest. He leans forward again, kissing her deeply while finally cupping her chest with his hand. Y/n lets herself fall back on the pillow.
She won't worry about anything tonight. Not about her parents or Draco's parents. About whether or not a wizard and a muggle can be together. By the time Draco's hands wander down to her pants, she has forgotten about most of it.

Fun Fact: Charles Windsor-Mountbatten was the longest-serving heir to the throne in British/English history, being heir apparent for 52 years.
He's also currently the fifth-shortest reigning British/English monarch since William the Conqueror, at 502 days at time of posting.
He's only beating the disputed Queens Matilda (208 days) and Lady Jane Grey (9 days), 12 year old murder victim Edward V (78 days), and his abdicating grand-uncle Edward VIII (326 days).
He has to reign another 286 days to beat the next-shortest, Richard III's 788 days.

It’s past midnight, but it’s still Sunday because I haven’t gone to bed yet.
I was tagged by the incredible and wonderful @anincompletelist and @cactusdragon517 Thanks for tagging me🥰
As always, don’t count the sentences, is seven if I say it is.
Here’s the opening scene from my still unnamed Grey’s Anatomy au!!
A string of cursing and a pillow hitting his face jolts Henry awake and it takes a minute for him to remember where he is. The guy he met at the bar last night is standing over him, and they’re definitely not at Henry’s place.
“Good morning,” He says. He’s searching for the guy’s name in his hangover-addled mind, but he’s coming up empty. Alan maybe? No, that doesn’t sound right.
“This is humiliating on so many levels. You have to go.” The guy says, and Henry is having a hard time focusing on anything other than the positively gorgeous view.
Early morning light from the window is bathing his golden brown skin in sunlight and he looks like he stepped out of a magazine.
“Why don’t you come back down here and we can pick back up where we left off?”
For a split second, he looks like he might take him up on the offer, but he just rolls his eyes and heads off towards the kitchen.
“It’s for the best I suppose.” Henry mutters, realizing that he’s also going to be late if he doesn’t get his ass moving.

"We can just stay here," Impulse says, his voice small against the vast emptiness. His gaze falls on the back of Tango's head, just a couple feet away. "Hunker down, hide for the rest of the season."
"Just you and me." He adds, a wistful note in his voice.
Tango turns to face him, his tail hovering over bedrock. His expression is unreadable.
"Yeah," Tango breathes, looking back at the void when Impulse steps closer, closing the gap until their shoulders brush. "D'you think the border's here?"
Impulse shrugs, following his gaze. Nothing but bedrock for miles and miles, stretching into the distant fog. "Do you want to check?"
Tango huffs a small laugh.
Their fingers brush, pulled together like the tide to the moon, like crushing magnets. Tango keeps his eyes forward.
The silence pulses against their skulls.
"We could pick a direction and run," Tango says after a while. "Who knows how far we'd go?"
Impulse hums. "Hopefully far enough."
"A thousand blocks, maybe more?"
"Something like that."
A laugh, "That's a lot of walking."
"I'd carry you halfway."
"Ha!"
Fingers link together, warm hands curling around each other.
"We'd win," Impulse tells him, squeezing just a little. "We'd win together."
Tango swallows.
Impulse continues, "Nobody would even think to look here."
His chest feels tight.
Tango's tail brushes against his leg, "Nobody would find us."
Impulse stares at the horizon, nothing but murky greys and faint reds. He stares until his vision swims and warps, a little dizzying as his mind spins with the possibilities-
Tango's voice breaks him out of it, "The timers don't stop, though."
Impulse blinks.
He looks down at his wrist. Bright numbers tick away even now, embedded into his skin like a brand. Impulse bites the inside of his cheek.
"Guess not."
Tango squeezes his hand, "So it's not worth it, then."
Impulse focuses on the warmth that seeps into his hand, letting out a breath. "Probably not."
Neither of them make a move to leave.
Tango's eyebrows furrow together. Impulse wants to smooth it out, press a kiss on the crease.
They don't say anything.
"Would you leave?" A voice asks- It takes a second for Impulse to register it as his own. "If you could. Would you leave?"
Tango's grip borders on painful.
Impulse makes a quiet noise, frowning as he faces him. "Tango?"
Slowly, his hold starts to relax.
"Would you?" Tango asks.
Impulse deflates.
Fair enough.
Their communicators ping!
The sudden noise makes them jolt. Tango fumbles for the device, the faint green glow reflected on the reds of his eyes.
Skizzleman: Windsor!
He sighs, "That's our cue."
Tango darts towards the portal, Impulse hot on his heels. Impulse feels a familiar floatiness overtake him, his vision filling with the swirling mass of purples, blurring at the edges.
He looks back out at the Nether ceiling, mind whirring with half-formed what ifs.
We would've starved to death, anyway, His mind supplies. Bad idea. Bad idea all around.
And yet he can't tear his eyes from the abyss.
Just before the atmosphere shifts- that snap between planes, the heat dissipating in a flash- Impulse catches Tango doing the same.
Would you? Tango had asked. Would he leave?
(He thinks of scars. He thinks of blood, and a wariness that never quite leaves. He thinks of the rush of adrenaline that poisons his thinking, gnashing teeth and sharp claws.)
Impulse thinks he wants to. Impulse thinks he still won't.
