Motivations:

But poll submitter, you say, Duo already came out relatively recently. First of all, very cool and sexy of you to be on top of your Milestone Returns releases (for real check them out, check out Static: Up All Night, and especially check out the original Milestone comics). Second of all, Duo was a pretty decent superhero origin story, but a horrible Xombi reimagining. The original Xombi run was an exceedingly stylish urban fantasy tale closer in vibe to its Vertigo contemporaries than the rest of the Milestone slate. I feel like a reboot that kept at least some of the worldbuilding and supporting cast of the original run, but borrowed some elements from Duo (I'd love a weirder take on the David-Kelly fusion situation, for example) would be an absolute banger to read and would shore up the magical corner of Earth M, which doesn't have much going for it as of yet.

would it be fucked up if the mata let it slip to the rahaga and dume that they were briefly dismembered and had to pop their bodies back into shape when they arrived on mata nui. like gali complaining she isnt used to walking all these stairs and her feet hurt "worse than when i came out of the canister" and bomonga is like ? so she explains she woke up with like half her joints rotted into goo and several bones just fallen out of her body and she had to slot it all back together, and she realizes halfway through that hes looking at her with genuine horror so she asks whats wrong and hes just like thats not normal. thats not normal gali.

Design notes below

I thought since the xenologue world was opposite, I wanted to add some difference somniel outfits, so made his silver rather than gold. I also gave him Lumera and Sombron's colour pallet since I think it looks neat.

(also in world explanation, Nel corrupted and revived him, and Veyle, Nel, and Nil keep pouring their power into him to keep him alive, so his hair turned half Sombron coloured.)

I think at some point in this AU there would be an emblem bracelet's miracle that sorts him out and revives him, but I thought it would be kind of cute to have a sort of falling apart corpse boy hanging out with everyone else.

Also I gave him paler eyes because I thought they looked cute and creepy :D
